Prince Charles meets steam train volunteers

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles has met with volunteers who helped restore a steam train with his donation.
The 68-year-old royal visited the Royal Deeside Railway Preservation Society at Milton of Crathes, Banchory, Aberdeenshire, on Monday (24.04.17), where he met with the volunteers who were tasked with helping to restore various pieces of stock from their collection when they were significantly vandalised in 2015.
One piece in particular, the Mark 2 coach, was left with an estimated £10,000 worth of damage after vandals smashed the carriage’s double-glazed windows and ruined a nearby locomotive engine.
However, hope was not lost for the volunteers as Prince Charles, through The Prince of Wales’ Charitable Foundation, made a donation toward the appeal fund to repair the carriage and the engine.
Charles’ donation meant an immediate start could be made to clear up, repair, and restore the damage done to the coach.
The restoration work carried out by volunteers has cost a whopping £15,000 so far, and work repairing all the vandalised pieces in the Royal Deeside collection is still ongoing two years after the offences took place.
During his visit, Prince Charles unveiled a plaque at the site to commemorate his visit, and even got the chance to drive the train he helped restore.
Meanwhile, the royal – who is married to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall – is currently on the lookout for a new assistant private secretary to help with his duties in Scotland.
According to professional networking site LinkedIn, the candidate must be able to “assimilate information very quickly” and have “impeccable organisational skills”.
Whilst the job surrounds his Scottish duties, the candidate must be based in London and is educated to degree level.
They must also boast a “substantial experience of a range of Scottish issues in different sectors”.

Rihanna causes a stir with superimposed pictures of Queen Elizabeth

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna has caused a stir on social media by superimposing Queen Elizabeth’s face onto her body.
The ‘Work’ hitmaker has edited existing photographs of her by replacing her face with the 91-year-old monarch’s in a string of images, which have been shared on her Instagram account, and it is believed the sudden uploads were to celebrate the royal’s birthday on Friday (21.04.17), although the Barbados-born singer has yet to reveal the reason behind her action.
One image of the Queen edited so it appears she is wearing a bright green ensemble, with matching knee-high boots, read: “be humble. (sic).”
Whilst another photoshopped image shows the Queen sporting a red fur heart Yves Saint Laurent jacket with denim shorts, black high heels, sunglasses, and a red hat.
The post was captioned with lyrics from Mariah Carey’s ‘It’s Like That’ song: “y’all chickens is ash and I’m lotion. (sic).”
The third image has been altered to impose the Queen’s face onto Rihanna’s body to make it appear she is wearing a crystal-encrusted Gucci ensemble, which the 29-year-old singer recently wore to the first weekend of Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival over the Easter weekend and is believed to have cost almost $10,000.
The brunette beauty wrote: “#gucci UPDATE: Mumz said she won’t too happy bout this post so I had to edit *insert appropriate Gucci Mane lyrics here* (sic).”
And Rihanna’s final post is of the Queen’s face edited onto the vocalist’s Paper magazine photoshoot, which sees the royal appear to go topless wearing only a pink two-piece skirt and blazer co-ord, whilst Rihanna’s signature tattoos are on show.
The last upload read: “it’s not that deep.(sic).”
Although some social media users find the comedy in the four uploads others have been quick to defend the royal.
One user wrote: “I’m not English or a Brit, but I find these series of photos disturbing. It’s like doing it with photos of my grandmother. These lack taste whatsoever. (sic).”

The late Princess Diana has been praised as a 'powerful sympathetic person'

OHMYGOSSIP — The late Princess Diana has been described as a “powerful sympathetic person” by screenwriter Ryan Murphy.
The 51-year-old creative mastermind is working on a new instalment of the American television series ‘Feud’, which will be based around Prince Charles and Diana – who tragically passed away in 1997 aged 36 years old – and their relationship, including their divorce in 1996.
But the American director and producer has hinted he feels there is a slight pressure on him because he has to cast the lead role of Diana “in a really cool way”.
Speaking to WWD about the project, he said: “[Diana] is obviously a powerful, sympathetic person and we have to handle her in a really cool way. ”
And he is desperate to “get it in the ballpark” when he signs an actor up for his roles and will do all he can during the editing process to make sure the outcome is exactly how he intended it to be.
He added: “Whenever I cast somebody [to play another famous person], I want to get it in the ballpark. Then you just shoot the s**t out of the make-up testing and get it right.”
However, Murphy has yet to secure any actors for the production yet.
The filmmaker – who created the popular series ‘Glee’ – has revealed he intends to portray the “outspoken” character of Diana – who has sons Prince William, 34, and Prince Harry, 32, with the Prince of Wales – because he “liked” that side to her personality.
He explained: “She stood for a lot and I like how she was so outspoken and that’s what her story is going to be.”

Mind sees increase in calls thanks to Prince Harry

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry speaking out about his mental health experiences has seen an increase in people phoning the charity Mind for help.
As a result of the 32-year-old royal revealing he nearly suffered a “complete breakdown” after his mother Princess Diana died 20 years ago, on Tuesday (18.04.17), Mind saw an increase of 38 per cent than an average day.
Many called up and specifically mentioned the impact the royal family had on their decision to call.
Now, Mind will be opening their ‘Infoline’ this Sunday (23.04.17), for the London marathon day – the first time they’ve extended their opening hours to a weekend.
On Friday morning (21.04.17), Prince William and Harry once again opened up about the loss of their mother at an early age in a video on the Royal Family Facebook page for their Heads Together campaign.
The brothers said that their mother’s loss brought them closer together.
William said: “We have been brought closer because of the circumstances as well. That’s the thing, you know, you are uniquely bonded because of what we’ve been through.
“Harry and I have not talked enough about our mother over the years.”
In the clip, Duchess Catherine asked if doing the campaign has made them realise how little they talked about their loss, and Harry admitted: “I think so, I always thought to myself, what’s the point of bringing up the past? ‘What’s the point of bringing up something that is only going to make you said?’ It ain’t going to change it, it ain’t going to bring her back. And when you stop thinking like that it can be really damaging. And you [William] always said to me, you’ve got think about those memories, but I was like, ‘I don’t want to think about it.'”
In response, Paul Farmer CBE, chief executive of Mind, said:
“This is a defining moment for mental health. To have the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry, along with the Duchess of Cambridge, speak openly about how the loss of their mother affected their mental health shows how far we’ve come in changing public attitudes and perceptions to mental health that someone so high-profile can open up about something so difficult and personal. We know that this has had a huge impact on people who are still struggling in silence with their mental health – every time someone in the public eye speaks up we know that it encourages members of the public to do the same.
“The fact that the Virgin Money London Marathon has chosen to put mental health at its heart for the first time shows what a turning point we are at. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, who are spearheading the Heads Together campaign, have undoubtedly played a huge role in opening up the conversation around mental health and Mind is extremely proud to be one of its partner charities.”

The royal family has issued a statement confirming that their meeting will now take place between July 12 and 14 instead of June 6 to June 8, after British Prime Minister Theresa May announced there will be a poll on June 9.
The notice on the official royal website, royal.uk, reads: “Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and His Majesty King Felipe VI of Spain have agreed that, in light of the General Election, the planned State Visit to the United Kingdom from 6th to 8th June 2017 by King Felipe and Queen Letizia should be postponed. The Visit will now take place on 12th to 14th July 2017.”
The pair last came to the UK in July last year, when they attended Rod Stewart’s concert in Madrid.
The royal couple – who got married in 2004 – snuck into the show at the Teatro Real, a major opera house, through a side door and sung the night away with other attendees.
Letizia, who was dressed to impress in a skimpy black dress, couldn’t resist documenting the event on her phone as she pulled out her device and began snapping away.
However, the couple may have been enjoying themselves but, according to HELLO! magazine, they refused to get up and dance and, instead, sang along to the lyrics.
It was a busy few months for the pair as earlier in 2016 they spent three days in the UK.

The 58-year-old former butler to the late royal has revealed that he lost complete communication with Prince William, 34, and Prince Harry, 32, after Diana passed away in 1997 in a car crash in Paris, but he would love to meet with them again.
He would also wishes to tell William’s wife, Duchess Catherine, how Diana made being a royal in the public eye “more comfortable”.
Speaking on Australia’s Channel 7 show, ‘Sunrise’, he revealed:
“I haven’t spoken to them since their mother died in 1997,” he told the programme.

“To give her a better life as a royal. It’s what Diana did.”
Burrell – who recently came out as gay when he married his partner of 10 years Graham Cooper – doesn’t have a bad word to say about the British royal family and isn’t sure why they’ve lost contact.
Asked why they haven’t been in touch, he said: “I don’t know why (they haven’t contacted me).
“(But) think about the system. The whole establishment is up against me because I’m the outsider.
“I belong in Diana’s world. I’m the one who got away.
“You’ve never heard me say anything disrespectful about the royal family or the Queen.
“We have a wonderful monarch. She’s 91 on Friday (21.04.17), long may she reign.”
Burrell also praised William and Harry for continuing their mother’s legacy with their charity work and following her “hopes and dreams”.
He said: “I think they are wonderful.
“They are following in their mother’s footsteps. She had them for long enough to instil her hopes and dreams and ideals. They are now the product of Diana.”

Prince William still in shock over Princess Diana's death

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has never gotten over the “shock” of his mother Princess Diana’s death.
The 34-year-old royal has opened up about the grief he still deals with after the tragic loss of his and his brother Prince Harry’s mother, who was killed in a car crash in Paris, France, in July 1997 at the age of 36, when he was just 14 years old.
Speaking in a new BBC documentary ‘Mind over Marathon’, he admitted: “The shock is the biggest thing.”
The Duke of Cambridge – who has three-year-old son Prince George and 23-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte with his wife Duchess Catherine – was asked by a widow of one of the marathon runners, whose son was barely a year old when his father committed suicide, how her children will cope with the loss as he was much younger than William and Harry, 32, were when Diana died.
She asked: “When your mum passed away you were a bit older than my children. I worry about them growing up. They’ll be OK won’t they?”
William assured her: “They’ll be absolutely fine. With a mum like you they’ll be absolutely fine.”
He went on to explain how his work in mental health – running the charity Heads Together with his wife and brother – was something he felt he needed to do because of what he and Harry went through.
He added: “Like you said, the shock is the biggest thing. I have my reasons for getting involved with mental health with what happened with my mum when I was younger I still feel, 20 years later about my mother, I still have shock within me.”
On how he’s never fully got over his parent’s death, he continued: “People say shock can’t last that long, but it does. You never get over it. It’s such an unbelievably big moment in your life that it never leaves you, you just learn to deal with it.
“You’ll provide the blanket of security and understanding that they’ll need. You doing this is a hugely positive step.”
William’s admission comes after Harry said he almost suffered a “complete breakdown” after Diana’s death.
He said: “I can safely say that losing my mum at the age of 12, and therefore shutting down all of my emotions for the last 20 years, has had a quite serious effect on not only my personal life but my work as well.
“I have probably been very close to a complete breakdown on numerous occasions when all sorts of grief and sort of lies and misconceptions and everything are coming to you from every angle.”
