Princess of Wales lookalike quashes farm shop conspiracy theory

OHMYGOSSIP — A lookalike has dismissed a bizarre conspiracy theory suggesting she doubled for Catherine, Princess of Wales during a recent outing to a farm shop.
Heidi Agan – who has spent 12 years impersonating Catherine – has spoken out to quash wild online speculation which claimed she was featured in a video published by The Sun newspaper showing the royal picking up some essentials at a farm shop in Windsor with her husband William, Prince of Wales on Saturday (16.03.24) – with Heidi insisting she was “80 miles away” at the time the clip was filmed.
During an appearance on ITV show ‘This Morning’ on Wednesday (20.03.24), Heidi explained: “I was not there. It definitely wasn’t me and I do think it was 100 per cent Kate and William in the video.”
Heidi, 43, went on to reveal she was busy working in her other job as a dance teacher at the time, adding: “My partner and I woke up yesterday morning having our tea and coffee and we couldn’t quite believe how mad my social media had gone.
“I didn’t know anything about it then overnight it just went a little bit crazy – it’s been a weird 24 hours … I work here in the head office so I was here on Saturday, there’s no way I could have been in Windsor 80 miles away.
“There’s everything going on here on Saturdays, tons of witnesses.”
Heidi went on to declare “it’s time” for trolls to leave Catherine, 42, alone following weeks of speculation about the state of her health as she recovers from abdominal surgery in January.
She added: “I think she’s fine, she’ll be coming back after Easter like Kensington Palace says but until then she needs to recover and heal.”
Heidi explained her lookalike work usually quietens down while Catherine is out of the spotlight, but it’s been very different this time while the royal has been off work since January.
She added: “When the royals are busy, it moves into our life as well. When she is in the press it generates a lot of interest for my job. Usually when she is ill the work would dry up out of respect but it has gone the other way this time, that’s really unusual.”

The Prince and Princess of Wales will take the place of King Charles and Queen Camilla at this month’s Royal Variety Performance.

OHMYGOSSIP — The Prince and Princess of Wales will take the place of King Charles and Queen Camilla at this month’s Royal Variety Performance.
The 75-year-old monarch has yet to attend the annual entertainment gala benefiting the Royal Variety Charity since becoming sovereign, with the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh sitting in the Royal Box at London’s Royal Albert Hall last year.
However, it’s been confirmed that Prince William and Catherine will attend on November 30, due to the king and queen having another function in Dubai at the Cop28 Climate Change Summit.
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband Prince Daniel are also confirmed to be attending the Royal Variety Performance.
The charity announced on X – formerly Twitter – that: “We are thrilled that The Prince and Princess of Wales will be our special guests at Royal Variety Performance. We are excited too that The Crown Princess of Sweden and Prince Daniel will be joining us on November 30.”
Bradley Walsh is hosting this year.
There will be performances by the likes of Cher, McFly, Melanie C and Ben Foster, Paloma Faith, Rick Astley, Zara Larsson, Britain’s Got Talent winner Viggo Venn, and many more.
The National Anthem will be played The Fanfare Trumpeters of The Band of the Welsh Guards and the National Youth Choir.
Meanwhile, the king just honoured K-pop stars BLACKPINK at a state banquet at Buckingham Palace earlier this week.
The South Korean girl group – Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa – were among around 170 guests invited to the glittering event in London hosted by Charles and Camilla in honour of South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and First Lady Kim Keon Hee’s state visit to the UK, and during a speech, the monarch gave a shoutout to the band for their environmental advocacy work.
Charles told the guests: “It is especially inspiring to see Korea’s younger generation embrace the cause. I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rose, better known collectively as Blackpink, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience as Ambassadors for the U.K.’s Presidency of COP 26, and later as advocates for the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
“I can only admire how they can prioritise these vital issues, as well as being global superstars.”

Duchess Catherine’s festival fun

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Princess of Wales was “nervous and apprehensive” before her first music festival, according to a royal expert.
The 41-year-old royal is reported to have danced the night away at the 24-hour Houghton Hall event after dining with her Norfolk friends, the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, David and Rose, last weekend.
Catherine’s trip to the music festival came after her husband Prince William enjoyed a night out in Koko club in Camden recently.
Speaking on the ‘Palace Confidential’ podcast, the Daily Mail’s diary editor Richard Eden said: “I think Catherine may have thought, ‘If [William] is going for a night out with his mates, why can’t I’?’
“They’ve probably reached a point where they’re getting a bit nostalgic.”
Catherine is not known to have previously attended a festival, but enjoyed herself at Houghton Hall.
A reveller told the London Evening Standard: “(Catherine) was in high spirits, ordering spicy margaritas, eating affogato (an Italian coffee-based dessert), and speaking affably with the other members of her party.
“Her companions apparently carted in a huge, balthazar-sized bottle of AIX rosé and, together with Kate, left the festival restaurant staff a £700 tip.”
A balthazar is a 12-litre bottle and is said to be worth at least £500.
Catherine was also said to have avoided the festival food trucks, instead apparently opting for the on-site Turntable and Napkin restaurant where guests pay £60 a head for a four-course feast.
Acts that played the festival included DJ Stingray, DMX Crew, Shanti Celeste, and Radioactive Man.
A source told the Daily Mail about Catherine’s decision to party at the festival: “After dinner, one of the guests suggested that Catherine go to the festival.
“Catherine was nervous about the idea, but, after much discussion with her protection officers, she went with lots of security. William wasn’t there.”
The upmarket Houghton Hall festival is billed as Britain’s only 24-hour music festival and was created by DJ Craig Richards, who launched the event in 2017.
More than 200 artists performed across 13 stages this year, with music playing somewhere on the Houghton Estate site at all times.
More than 12,000 revellers were estimated to have attended.

‘Cheeky’ Prince Harry Valentine’s card for sale

OHMYGOSSIP — Royal fans can profess their love with a “cheeky” Prince Harry Valentine’s card.
The 38-year-old prince infamously stepped down from royal duties in 2020, less than two years after he married Meghan, Duchess of Sussex – who was known as Meghan Markle before they tied the knot – and with the situation back in the spotlight because of the release of his memoir ‘Spare’, the designers at Moonpig have used it as inspiration for one of their new offerings for the romantic holiday on 14 February.
The card features a drawing of Harry along with the slogan: “Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue, I’d leave the Royal Family For You.”
The design is available in standard, large, and giant sizes – costing between £3.79 and £9.99 – and the outlet are expecting it to be one of their biggest sellers.
Sarah-Jane Porter Director Global design licensing at Moonpig commented: “We know at Valentine’s Day our customers particularly enjoy sending a cheeky card to their partner, which is why we think this design will be up there as one of our best-selling card designs given how relevant and topical it is at the moment.”
The card is available at https://www.moonpig.com/uk/personalised-cards/p/roses-are-red-violets-are-blue-valentines-day-card/cup001/

Prince William taking an ‘active role’ in planning King Charles’s coronation

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William is taking an “active role” in planning King Charles’s coronation.
The Prince of Wales is expected to join the King’s coronation committee to help set the tone for the event, which will take place at Westminster Abbey on May 6 2023.
Plans for ‘Operation Golden Orb’ have been in place for several years with a committee made up of historians and the clergy and William is set to take up an active advisory position to make sure that the ceremony for his father reflects modern Britain.
According to the Daily Telegraph newspaper, an expert report has recommended that “archaic” and “imperial” elements should be dropped from the ceremony when Charles is crowned.
Queen Consort Camilla will also be crowned at the event but is not believed to be taking an active role in the planning and it is not yet clear if the Duke of Sussex will be involved as he is no longer a working royal.
The report is due to be published in the next week and claims that the King’s coronation could be “royal-wedding sized” with around 2,000 guests – far less than the 8,000 who attended the coronation of the late Queen Elizabeth in 1953.
Dr. Bob Harris, of The Constitution Unit at University College London, writes: “The UK no longer has the capacity to mount anything like this spectacle, nor should it do in straitened times.
“The next coronation will inevitably be smaller. Archaic elements such as the Court of Claims should be dropped.
“So should the homage, and thought be given to how the King as head of the nation should be enabled early in the reign to signify support for, and encouragement of, modern civil society.
“A modernised form of homage could take place, for example, in Westminster Hall, on in a procession on Horse Guards parade.”
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace has previously said about the ceremony: “The coronation will reflect the monarch’s role today and look towards the future, while being rooted in long-standing traditions and pageantry.”

King Charles ‘wants a modern coronation’

OHMYGOSSIP — King Charles intends to have a more “modern” coronation.
The 73-year-old king will be formally coronated in 2023 – but the ceremony will be shorter than before.
A source told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “The 1762 gold stagecoach which was seen at the queen’s Platinum Jubilee is once again expected to be seen. The anointing of the monarch will also be retained, but a shorter ceremony will take place with fewer guests.”
Charles became king following the death of Queen Elizabeth on September 8.
But Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the “coronation of the new Sovereign follows some months after his or her accession, following a period of mourning and as a result of the enormous amount of preparation required to organise the ceremony”.
Charles paid a heartfelt tribute to the queen following her death last month.
The new monarch also renewed his “darling Mama’s” promise of lifelong service.
In a TV address, Charles said: “Her dedication and devotion as Sovereign never waivered, through times of change and progress, through times of joy and celebration, and through times of sadness and loss.”
Charles thanked the late monarch for her life of service, too.
He said: “To my darling Mama, as you begin your last great journey to join my dear late Papa, I want simply to say this: thank you.
“Thank you for your love and devotion to our family and to the family of nations you have served so diligently all these years.”
Charles also acknowledged the need to pass on responsibility for his charitable work to other people.
He explained: “It will no longer be possible for me to give so much of my time and energies to the charities and issues for which I care so deeply.
“But I know this important work will go on in the trusted hands of others.”

Duchess Meghan’s low-key birthday

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, celebrated her 41st birthday with “family and dear friends”.
The 41-year-old royal – who lives in Montecito, California – enjoyed a low-key birthday on Thursday (04.08.22) with her husband Prince Harry and their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
A representative for the Sussexes told Us Weekly: “The Duchess is enjoying a lovely birthday this year with her family and dear friends.”
Meanwhile, although Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior royals and moved to American in 2020, leading to a rift with the Royal Family, Prince William and Duchess Catherine took to social media to share a birthday message for Meghan.
They posted a picture of Meghan and wrote: “Wishing a happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!”
William and Harry’s father Prince Charles and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, posted a similar image and wrote: “Happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!”
The pictures selected by both couples show Meghan at Queen Elizabeth’s Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral during the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The service was the only event from the Queen’s Jubilee which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex publicly attended, after they returned to the UK from California for the occasion.

Queen Elizabeth meets her great-granddaughter for the first time

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth met her great-granddaughter Lilibet for the first time at Windsor Castle on Thursday (02.06.22).
The 96-year-old monarch met her 11-month-old great-granddaughter – who is the youngest child of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex – at Windsor after the royals attended Trooping the Colour, the Daily Mail newspaper reports.
The duke and duchess – who also have a three-year-old son called Archie – have returned to the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The couple – who tied the knot in 2018 – are now based in California, after they stepped down as senior members of the royal family in early 2020.
They said in a statement at the time: “We intend to step back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family and work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen.”
The duke and duchess also attended the Jubilee service at St Paul’s Cathedral on Friday.
However, the monarch was absent from the service after she suffered discomfort while watching a parade at Buckingham Palace.
The Queen watched a military parade and waved at well-wishers gathered on The Mall, but she subsequently withdrew from the service at St Paul’s.
In May, the Queen also missed the state opening of parliament.
The monarch has been experiencing mobility issues in recent months and Prince Charles assumed the responsibility.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said at the time: “The Queen continues to experience episodic mobility problems, and in consultation with her doctors has reluctantly decided that she will not attend the state opening of parliament.”
Meanwhile, a Downing Street spokesperson said: “The prime minister fully respects the wishes of Her Majesty and is grateful to the Prince of Wales for agreeing to deliver the speech on her behalf.”

Princess Eugenie launches anti-slavery podcast

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Eugenie has launched her new anti-slavery podcast, ‘Floodlight’.
The 32-year-old royal – who is the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York – founded The Anti-Slavery Collective with her friend Julia de Boinville in 2017, and the pair have just started their weekly series to showcase the work of those working to prevent modern slavery.
Eugenie wrote on Instagram: “Join me, and my co-founder, Julia de Boinville each week as we sit down with guests from all walks of life who are helping to combat modern slavery in a variety of ways.
“From lawmakers and company leaders to famous activists, survivors and journalists, Floodlight shows you just how prominent modern slavery is and that we can all do something about it.”
The first episode saw the pair joined by Caroline Haughey OBE QC, a renowned barrister who helped draft the Modern Slavery Act.
Eugenie’s podcast has arrived ahead of her cousin Prince Harry’s wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming series for Spotify, ‘Archetypes’.
The 40-year-old former actress – who has Archie, two, and Lili, 10 months, with Harry – shared the first trailer for the podcast last month and pledged to “investigate the labels that try to hold women back”.
In an audio teaser for the podcast, the duchess addressed the way women have long been generalised, particularly in popular culture and the media.
She asked: “This is how we talk about women: the words that raise our girls, and how the media reflects women back to us . . . but where do these stereotypes come from? And how do they keep showing up and defining our lives?
“This is Archetypes — the podcast where we dissect, explore, and subvert the labels that try to hold women back,” she says in the teaser. “I’ll have conversations with women who know all too well how these typecasts shape our narratives. And I’ll talk to historians to understand how we even got here in the first place.”
It’s set to launch this summer.
Meghan and Harry, 37, announced in 2020 that their production company Archewell Audio had agreed a multi-year partnership with Spotify with the intention of building a “community through shared experience, narratives and values.”

Queen Elizabeth II is a chocoholic

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth II is a chocoholic.
The 95-year-old monarch is a big fan of chocolate mousse, her former chef Darren McGrady told The Sun: “I used to make a mousse au chocolat et café — a dark chocolate mousse — and I added in some real espresso coffee to intensify the flavour.
“That was on the menu quite a bit at the Palace.”
The 60-year-old chef – who began working at Balmoral peeling carrots for the horses – believes that Gordon Ramsey could never cook for the royals “because of his ego”.
Others have pointed out that Her Majesty “has a fondness of chocolate”, such ‘MasterChef: The Professionals’ judge Monica Galetti, who judged a competition to find a pudding to be served at the Big Jubilee Lunch, which will mark HRH’s 70-year reign.
She said: “From what I’ve heard about Her Majesty, she doesn’t like over-complicated things. She likes traditional, but apparently, she has a fondness of chocolate and berries, especially seasonal fruit.
“There’s a bit of scope to maybe mix the two, then see how they can jazz it up. “There’s nothing wrong with taking a traditional pudding and bringing your own personality to it – but don’t make it too crazy.”
However, the queen doesn’t only care about sweet treats as Darren – who has fed Princess Diana, Prince Harry and other royal – previously shared how “tickled” he was to help recreate fast food favourites with what they brought back from hunts.
He said: “It always tickled me at Balmoral, we would make our own burgers. They would shoot deer, and we would do venison burgers. There’d be gorgeous cranberry and everything stuffed into them, but we never set buns out. “The only thing you would pick up and eat with your fingers is afternoon tea.”

Duke and Duchess of Sussex given ‘VVIP status’ by Dutch police ahead of The Invictus games

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been given “VVIP status” by Dutch police ahead of their visit to the Netherlands.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the royal couple will be joined by a private security team and have been told there is “no credible threat” to their safety during their visit to The Hague for Prince Harry’s Invictus Games, which kicks off with the opening ceremony on Saturday (16.04.22).
A source claimed that there will be a “high-level multi-agency protection programme” in place for the whole trip.
They’ve even gone as far as to put “detailed extraction processes” on stand-by, should there be a “personal or larger scale terror attack”.
And it’s claimed the couple – who are parents to Archie, two, and Lilibet, 10 months – underwent “hostile environment” training with the security team.
The source said: “Harry and Meghan have received absolute top assurances that there is no credible threat to their safety.
“This is the view of the Dutch authorities and other agencies across the continent.
“In any case, as they are attending a high profile event in the Netherlands both the Duke and Duchess have been classed as VVIPs for the duration of their stay and overall responsibility for their safety at all times while in the Netherlands will be with the Dutch authorities.”
While they have been offered “high-level assurances their protection is a priority”, the security team are not allowed to be armed in Holland.
Harry, 37, is currently taking legal action against the Home Office as he and his 40-year-old wife – who was formerly known as Meghan Markle before marrying into the British royal family in 2018 – are no longer given armed police protection when he’s in the UK and has been told he cannot pay for that himself.
But Richard Griffin, who was a royal protection officer for the Duke of Edinburgh – who died last April aged 99 – for 14 years insisted security concerns were a “pathetic excuse” for Harry not to join the rest of his family at his late grandfather’s memorial service last month.
He said: “Prince Philip was their grandfather so William has obviously had a great training from him and is going to learn examples from him. I just hope Harry gets some of these things in his mind.
“It [Harry not being here] was a big disappointment for everybody. People were talking about it. Certainly around where I was people were saying he should have been here.
‘”All this nonsense about how he couldn’t get protection, as far as I’m concerned that was a pathetic excuse. He should’ve been here to honour his grandfather.
“At the end of the day, if he was that worried about security, he could’ve stuck with his brother and father who have got wonderful security and he would have been more than safe.”

Duchess Meghan’s first Spotify podcast will launch this summer

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is set to launch a “groundbreaking” podcast on Spotify this summer.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex set up Archewell Audio, signing an exclusive mega-money multi-year deal with the streaming giant to release a number of podcasts, and now, the first podcast has been confirmed.
Meghan and Harry – who became financially independent after they stepped down as senior members of the British royal family in 2020 – have vowed to “tackle misinformation” as they continue their partnership with Spotify, despite several high-profile musicians removing their music from the app amid calls for Joe Rogan’s podcast to be cancelled for giving false information regarding the coronavirus vaccine.
An Archewell Audio spokesperson said: “As we all continue to tackle the misinformation era, Archewell Audio has found it important to work with our partners at Spotify to ensure that the digital technologies so many of us use every day are rooted in strong principles of trust and safety.
“We are encouraged by ongoing conversations we’ve had with Spotify on this shared goal and have been working closely with their team — as well as their senior leadership — towards policies, practices, and strategies meant to raise creator awareness, minimise the spread of misinformation, and support transparency.”
Announcing Meghan’s podcast, they added: “As a result of these meetings, we are excited to announce that we are continuing production of Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex’s groundbreaking first podcast series, set to launch this summer.”
No further information about the podcast has been revealed at this time.
Former ‘Suits’ actress Meghan, 40, and Harry, 37, recently expressed “their concerns” to Spotify over misinformation spreading on the platform.
The couple urged Spotify to help stop the “global misinformation crisis”.
An Archewell spokesperson said on their behalf: “Since the inception of Archewell, we have worked to address the real-time global misinformation crisis.
“Hundreds of millions of people are affected by the serious harms of mis- and disinformation every day.
“Last April, our co-founders began expressing concerns to our partners at Spotify about the all too real consequences of Covid misinformation on its platform.
“We have continued to express our concerns to Spotify to ensure changes to its platform are made to help address this public health crisis.
“We look to Spotify to meet this moment and are committed to continuing our work together as it does.”
Spotify insisted it bans “false or dangerous deceptive content about Covid-19, which may cause offline harm and/or pose a direct threat to public health.”
Neil Young was the first artist to remove their music from Spotify.
In a request to the company, the 76-year-old singer said: “I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform. They can have [Joe] Rogan or Young. Not both.
“I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them. Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule.”
The streaming service later responded: “We want all the world’s music and audio content to be available to Spotify users. With that comes great responsibility in balancing both safety for listeners and freedom for creators. We have detailed content policies in place and we’ve removed over 20,000 podcast episodes related to Covid since the start of the pandemic. We regret Neil’s decision to remove his music from Spotify, but hope to welcome him back soon.”

Queen Elizabeth makes ‘generous donation’ towards Ukraine relief efforts

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth has made a “generous donation” towards Ukraine relief efforts.
The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has revealed the 95-year-old British monarch quietly had funds sent to its Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal amid the crisis in Ukraine after Russia’s Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale invasion of the country.
The DEC Twitter account posted: “Many thanks to Her Majesty The Queen for continuing to support the Disasters Emergency Committee and for making a generous donation to the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
@RoyalFamily #UkraineAppeal.”
The amount the royal – who has to remain strictly neutral with respect to political matters – donated was not revealed.
A Buckingham Palace source told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “This is unusual for the royal family as they typically stay out of politics and don’t provide monetary support.”
On Thursday (03.03.22), the queen carried out further virtual meetings with two foreign diplomats by video link at Windsor, since contracting COVID-19.
Her Majesty met Vishnu Dhanpaul, London’s new High Commissioner of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, and Dr. Thomas Bisika, who is the new High Commissioner in London for the Republic of Malawi.
The sovereign also had her weekly telephone call with Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The Court Circular noted that on March 2: “The Rt Hon Boris Johnson MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury) had an audience of The Queen via telephone this evening.”
On Tuesday (02.03.22), she met virtually with ambassadors from Andorra and the Republic of Chad.
The queen is feeling “a lot better”, according to her son Prince Charles.
The royal’s diagnosis was announced on 20 February and though Buckingham Palace stressed she was only experiencing “mild” symptoms, her virtual engagements were cancelled through the week, though she still had her call with the Prime Minister.
The queen is scheduled to appear at the Commonwealth Service at Westminster Abbey on 14 March and will join her family for a service of thanksgiving for her late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh – who died last April aged 99 – on 29 March.

Prince Charles planning scaled-down coronation

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles is planning a scaled-down coronation.
The 73-year-old royal will be crowned King of England after his mother Queen Elizabeth, 95, dies and Charles is planning a “shorter and cheaper” ceremony for his coronation, which will also see his wife Duchess Camilla named as Queen Consort.
A source told The Mail On Sunday newspaper: “[The ceremony] will be shorter, sooner, smaller, less expensive and more representative of different community groups and faiths.
“It will be a slimmed-down monarchy on display throughout. I wouldn’t be surprised to see just Charles and Camilla, Kate [Duchess Catherine] and [Prince] William and their children on the Buckingham Palace balcony afterwards.”
The ceremony – codename Operation Golden Orb – will take place at Westminster Abbey and will be held within one year of Charles’ accession.
This comes after Queen Elizabeth used her Platinum Jubilee message to share her wish that Camilla becomes Queen Consort when Charles becomes King.
She said: “I would like to express my thanks to you all for your support. I remain eternally grateful for, and humbled by, the loyalty and affection that you continue to give me. And when, in the fullness of time, my son Charles becomes king, I know you will give him and his wife Camilla the same support that you have given me; and it is my sincere wish that, when that time comes, Camilla will be known as queen consort as she continues her own loyal service.”

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla to spend Christmas with Queen Elizabeth

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla will spend Christmas Day (25.12.21) with Queen Elizabeth.
The 95-year-old monarch is facing her first Christmas without her husband Prince Philip – who died in April – and her son Charles and daughter-in-law Camilla will travel to Windsor to spend the day with her.
A Clarence House spokesperson said: “The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will be with Her Majesty The Queen on Christmas Day.”
The announcement comes after it was revealed that Princess Anne’s husband Sir Timothy Laurence has tested positive for COVID-19.
A Buckingham Palace spokesperson said: “Princess Anne’s husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence has tested positive for COVID and is following all appropriate rules. Princess Anne is also isolating.”
The royal couple, married since 1992, are now isolating at their home in Gloucestershire, south-west England, as part of the UK government’s coronavirus rules.
Another source told MailOnline: “It’s true, COVID is unfortunately on the estate. It means therefore that those in the royal household are having to isolate for the time being.”
Timothy’s COVID diagnosis was confirmed shortly after Queen Elizabeth cancelled her plans to spend Christmas at her Sandringham estate.
The monarch had intended to follow tradition by spending Christmas at her royal residence in Norfolk, but she recently cancelled those plans amid rising levels of the Omicron variant in the UK.
The decision “reflects a precautionary approach”, according to Buckingham Palace aides, who confirmed that it was a personal decision taken by the monarch.
