Prince Charles praises George’s new school

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles thinks Prince George’s new school will be good for character building.
The Prince of Wales was pleased his grandson’s first day at school went so well but quipped he wouldn’t be offering any advice as he doesn’t think George would “take it from him”.
When he was asked if he gave his grandson advice on his first day, he told ITV News: “Of course not! He wouldn’t take it from me, I don’t think at that age.
“He’s being left there to have to get on with it. At that age you don’t worry quite so much about going to school as you do when you get a bit older.”
It comes after Prince William revealed George had a great first day at St Thomas’s in Battersea and was thankful everything went smoothly unlike another parent who had some drama with her children.
He said: “It went well. There was one other parent who had more of an issue with their children so I was quite pleased I wasn’t the one.”
Meanwhile, the former headteacher Ben Thomas previously insisted Prince George won’t have any “special treatment” at his school.
Ben said: “Our aim for him, as well as for all of our pupils, is to provide a safe and secure and happy environment where he feels supported by a kind and loving community.
“That’s something we will be trying to achieve for him. There won’t be any special treatment at all. In fact, what his parents would like for him, as any parent would like for their child, is they have a wonderful, fulfilling and private childhood in a place which is secure.”

Duchess Catherine’s perfume sold out

OHMYGOSSIP — The perfume Duchess Catherine wore at her 2011 wedding is still out of stock – six years on.
Sales for White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum have been a huge hit ever since the Duchess of Cambridge wore it when she tied the knot with Prince William and even a number of years on, it is still proving tricky for royal fans to get their hands on the much sought after scent.
A description of the product reads: “White Gardenia Petals eau de parfum is a delicate, refined scent, evocative of summer ambience. Featuring a floral bouquet of lily, jasmine and ylang-ylang on a base of amber wood, this intoxicating fragrance will entice the senses of both men and women alike.”
Whilst Michael Donovan, a spokesman for Illuminum, had said at the time: “There’s been a phenomenal response. Orders have come in from dozens of different countries, but most of our customers have come from the U.S. It’s charming to think that so many people abroad are interested in the wedding.”
It comes after Duchess of Cambridge’s hairdresser Richard Ward revealed that Catherine was very “calm” on her wedding day.
He said: “I have some incredible memories of that day. When she walked back into Buckingham Palace and her hair was all still in place, I cannot tell you the relief we all felt! I’ve seen brides far more nervous that Catherine! She was fantastic – she kept us calm, not the other way round!
“I wanted to show Kate the back of her hair [getting ready at Clarence House for the evening party] and I was struggling to walk with this 500-year-old mirror. He just said, ‘Let me give you a hand.’ And I said, ‘No, no, honestly.’ But he took one end and I’ve got the other and we’re shuffling along with this mirror – he’s great, he really is. It was the most incredible experience and I’ll never forget it.”

Prince Harry’s Invictus Games praise

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry “stepped up to the plate” with the Invictus Games.
The flame-haired royal has been praised by Invictus competitor Stefan Leroy, who is a double leg amputee, for filling the “need” for something positive to encourage injured veterans.
Stefan said: “Adaptive sports are a huge part of how I stay positive … In a lot of situations, you don’t have that companionship. I live in Florida. I see other amputees very rarely, and when I’m running I’m the only amputee running in my town.
“To bring us all together again at Invictus is great to encourage that growth and that recovery. There was a need for this all along. And it wasn’t being filled. Harry filled that need, by stepping up to the plate and brought Invictus forward.”
And Stefan – who lost his legs when he stepped on an explosive during a rescue mission in Afghanistan in 2012 – also felt inspired by seeing others take part in the games.
He added to People magazine: “Prince Harry has created more than a regular Paralympic-style competition. You are competing for your country and your team but you’re also there for everybody else. Most of the sports I’m doing, I’ve seen others doing them. I think that’s part of Invictus. You see people and they are doing awesome and you think ‘I can give that a try.'”
The next Invictus Games is due to take place later this month in Toronto, Canada and it is thought to be when Prince Harry will make his first public appearance with his girlfriend Meghan Markle.

She shared: “I don’t if I will get into trouble for this, but I have an opinion. I mean, she’s on the cover of Vanity Fair. It would have been nice to write about her not just her boyfriend. I’m just saying. I mean, she’s an actor, she’s an activist, she’s a philanthropist. I mean, she does so much more. It’s just a little sexist. Look, I’m a feminist and I love boys, okay … The only thing I’m saying is that there needs to be a certain sense of equality where a woman is not just a plus one, you know. It’s nice to be your own identity to.”

Prince William ‘had to be persuaded to have another child’

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge reportedly had to persuade her husband Prince William to have another baby.

The 68-year-old royal and his wife the Duchess of Cornwall will attend the formal opening ceremony of the new vessel at Rosyth Dockyard in Fife on Friday (08.09.17), where they will witness a bottle of whisky thrown against the 65,000-tonne carrier, which will proudly be named HMS Prince of Wales.
It’s the second only aircraft carrier in the UK Navy’s fleet after HMS Queen Elizabeth, which is expected to set sail from Rosyth this summer, with the Princes of Wales due to hit waters by 2019.
The engineers working on the ship told the Daily Express that it will be “more efficient” than its sister ship.
When its launched into the sea the current Senior Naval Officer Ian Groom will have handed over the reigns to Captain Stephen Moorhouse.
The 44-year-old officer can’t wait for the carrier to be completed and is already looking forward to sailing it.
He said: “Seeing our sister ship HMS Queen Elizabeth make her debut in Portsmouth last month was an amazing sight and I look forward to one day bringing HMS Prince of Wales home to the same warm welcome.
“Until then the ship’s company in Rosyth will continue to grow and they have much to be proud of in all the work they have done so far, working with our civilian industry partners to bring this ship to life.”

The four-year-old royal was dropped off by his father Prince William at St Thomas’s in Battersea, London on Thursday morning (07.09.17) and greeted by the head teacher of the lower school, Helen Haslem, who gave the nervous-looking youngster a firm handshake.

Pippa Middleton comforting Duchess Catherine through morning sickness

OHMYGOSSIP — Pippa Middleton has been paying “regular” visits to her sister Duchess Catherine as she battles morning sickness.
The 35-year-old beauty has been convalescing at Kensington Palace ever since it was announced she is expecting her third child with Prince William on Monday (04.09.17), and her younger sibling has been by her side most of the time comforting her, an insider told Us Weekly magazine.
Catherine is once again suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum – a debilitating form of serious morning sickness – but William has assured she is on the mend and once she is back on her feet they will be celebrating their baby news.
The Duke of Cambridge – who already has Prince George, four, and two-year-old Princess Charlotte with his spouse – said: “We need Catherine to get over this first bit and then we can start celebrating.
It’s always a bit anxious to start with, but she’s well. There’s not much sleep going on at the moment.”
The British royal couple surprised the world with their announcement earlier this week.
Kensington Palace said in a statement: “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.
“The Queen and both their families are delighted with the news.”
Catherine was forced to cancel a planned official engagement in London later in the day because of her morning sickness, which she also experienced when she was carrying both George and Charlotte.
The statement concluded: “As with her previous two pregnancies, the Duchess is suffering from Hyperemisis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today. The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”
William’s younger brother Prince Harry was one of the first to congratulate the couple on their baby news.
The 32-year-old royal told reporters: “[It’s] fantastic, great. Very, very happy for them.”
And he also told well-wishers that Catherine is doing “OK” despite being poorly.
He said: “I haven’t seen her for a while but I think I she’s OK.”

Denmark’s Prince Henrik has dementia

OHMYGOSSIP — Denmark’s Prince Henrik has been diagnosed with dementia.
The 83-year-old royal has been examined all summer and specialists at the Rigshospitalet hospital in Copenhagen have now officially confirmed that Queen Margrethe II’s husband is suffering from the brain disease, which causes a long term and often gradual memory loss.
A statement released by the Danish Palace said: “It is with deep regret that Her Majesty The Queen has asked the Lord Chamberlain to announce: Following a longer course of investigation, and most recently, a series of examinations conducted during late summer, a team of specialists at Rigshospitalet has now concluded that His Royal Highness Prince Henrik suffers from dementia.”
Henrik will now minimise his duties and future engagements as the royal family want the prince to have as much “peace and quiet” as possible as he deals with the life-changing illness.
The statement continued: “The diagnosis implies a decline in The Prince’s cognitive functional level. The extent of the cognitive failure is … greater than expected considering the age of the Prince, and can be accompanied by changes in behaviour, reaction patterns, judgement and emotional life and may therefore also affect the interaction with the outside world.
“As a consequence of the diagnosis, The Prince will further downgrade his future activities, just as patronages and honorary memberships will be considered.
“It is the wish of The Queen and the Royal Family that the Prince will have the peace and quiet as required by the situation.”
Henrik retired from last year and most recently hit the headlines after saying he wished not to be buried with his wife – whom he has two sons, Crown Prince Frederik, 49 and Prince Joachim, 48, with – at Roskilde Cathedral, but the Queen’s spokesperson said it had long been known.
He said: “I didn’t marry the Queen to be buried at Roskilde. My wife has decided that she wants to be Queen, and I’m very happy about that. But as a human being she needs to know that if a man and wife are married, they are equal.”
However, the statement from the palace read: “The Queen has for some time been familiar with the decision of His Royal Highness and acknowledges the decision. The Prince’s decision does not change The Queen’s funeral plans. The Prince’s wish to be buried in Denmark remains, but the circumstances are not yet in place.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sweden’s Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia have shared the first photograph of their baby son Gabriel.
The royal couple welcomed their little bundle of joy into the world on August 31, and just five days after they took to Instagram to share the cute image of their son taking a nap in a white-knitted cardigan.
The shot was taken by Carl himself and shared on the royal family’s official Instagram page.
The picture was captioned: “First picture of Prince Gabriel! The Prince has been photographed at villa solbacken, five days old. Photo: Prince Carl Philip #kungahuset (sic)”
In keeping with tradition, the 38-year-old prince’s father King Carl XVI Gustaf announced his grandson’s name and title at a cabinet meeting on Monday morning (04.09.17).
King Carl confirmed at the Swedish Royal Court that the baby prince is called Gabriel Carl Walther and will be known as the Duke of Dalarna.
The palace confirmed on the royal family’s Instagram that they had welcomed a new addition to their brood.
The statement read: “On Thursday, 31 August at 11.24 am, Princess Sofia welcomed a healthy and prosperous child at Danderyd Hospital.
“Both mother and child are doing well. (sic)”
Carl and Sofia already have 16-month-old son Prince Alexander and said they couldn’t be happier to become parents for a second time when they announced the exciting news in March.
At the time, they said: “We are happy to announce that we are expecting a child, a sibling to Prince Alexander. We are looking forward to welcoming a new little member to our family.”
Sofia, 32, previously admitted becoming a parent had changed her “whole life”.
Speaking soon after giving birth of Alexander, she said: “Being a mother is amazing. It changes your whole life.”
And Carl added: “The first time does take some adjustment. But it’s still absolutely amazing and wonderful.”
The prince married the former reality star in Stockholm in June 2015, and after a lavish honeymoon in Fiji, the brunette beauty fell pregnant with the couple’s first child.
During his wedding speech, the prince recalled to guests how he had driven to see Sofia’s father, who works in a job centre, to ask permission to propose and thanked her family for their support.
He also hailed the former model as his “role model” and praised the citizens of Sweden for accepting their union.
He said: “We never chose the tough way – it chose us.
“You fill my life with love and happiness. Today we prove that love conquers all.
“Sofia – you’ve enriched our family. Your family has received me with equally open arms. I’ve got another family.”
