Meghan Markle’s sell out sunglasses

OHMYGOSSIP — The firm whose sunglasses Meghan Markle wore at the Invictus Games has been desperately trying to speed up production to meet demand.
The team at sunglasses brand Finlay & Co. have been looking at ways to increase their stocks of the accessory, which have become a hit even since the ‘Suits’ actress – who is dating Prince Harry – was seen wearing them in Toronto.
Co-founder David Lochhead said: “The orders have been overwhelming. It was a total surprise. I was at dinner with my family on Monday night and had my phone in my pocket so it wasn’t until I checked my phone on the way home. I let out a little scream on the tube! We were straight onto our factory in Italy to see if they could speed up our current order and placed additional orders. They are pulling out all of the stops!
“I think she’s got amazing character and depth. She’s more than an actress, she’s a humanitarian and people seem to be able to relate to her.”
Whilst Dane Butler shared: “Meghan’s style is quite relaxed but it definitely has a polished edge. And she mixes high street with designer just like the Duchess of Cambridge.”
Sarah Flint, who designed the dark tan leather flats Meghan wore that day, praised her “chic” style.
She told People magazine: “Meghan has a very chic, yet approachable style that resonates with women worldwide, so it’s no surprise that women want to emulate her looks.”

Prince Harry writes letter to cancer sufferer

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry stopped in the middle of the Invictus Games to write a letter to a cancer sufferer.
The 33-year-old royal was touring the warm-up area of the cycling competition at High Park in Toronto when he sat down for several minutes to pen a handwritten letter to 53-year-old Guylaine Catelain, wife of Colonel Lauren Catelain, who is battling the disease.
Colonel Catelain – who lost both of his legs in Afghanistan – appeared at the London and Orlando Invictus Games but was unable to make it this year because he is home caring for his wife.
French captain David Travadon told reporters of Harry’s wonderful gesture: “I asked Prince Harry to write her a note to encourage her. He took his time to write it and put a lot of care and thought into it. It will be very important to her. He sent her his best wishes and told her the spirit of the games is with her.”
It comes after Prince Harry admitted the Invictus Games have “changed [his] life”.
He said: “They’ve definitely changed my life. I think having a huge appreciation for service and duty is a life-changing moment. Anyone that has served in uniform, in a uniform, will be able to testify to that. Being able to wear your nation’s flag on your arm or on your chest, being part of a team, respect, teamwork, discipline, all of things … it’s lacking in the world today.
“These individuals, people that have served, people that continue to serve, whether they be injured or not, are fantastic role models and role models I think everybody should be looking up to.”

Prince Harry thanks veteran for service

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry thanked a 101-year-old veteran for his years of service when they met at the Invictus Games.
The flame-haired royal praised Sergeant Norm Baker – who received a two minute standing ovation inside Toronto’s Mattamy Athletic Stadium ahead of the wheelchair rugby.
Revealing what they talked about, he said:”He thanked me.”
And when Prince Harry heard his story, he told him: “Wow, that’s amazing. Fantastic.”
Sergeant Norm Baker wanted to attend the games, which are Paralympic-style games are for injured service veterans, to see the “spirit” of the competitors and support them for the “wonderful job” they do.
Explaining why he wanted to attend the games, he said: “I wanted to show the athletes my support and enjoy the games. See their spirit. They show amazing strength of character as well as body. I think they do a wonderful job. It’s important because without this, a lot of them would not be where they are today.
“It’s Prince Harry’s efforts that have encouraged them to find the competitive spirit, self-confidence and join in: make them feel as if they have a place in the world when they could have lost hope. We just had to do the best we could. Some of them [the older generation] didn’t have anything to live for. Harry’s given this generation that spirit.”

Prince Harry urges young generation to look up from their phones

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has urged young people to “look up from their phones” and go out and “change the world”.
The flame-haired royal made a surprise appearance at WE Day celebrations in Toronto, Canada and called on the younger generation to not waste time on the “clickbait culture”.
He said: “The thousands of you gathered here are proof that today’s generation of young people is the most connected, most energised, and most confident the planet has ever known. You know that differences of opinion, of circumstance, of race and religion – are to be respected and celebrated.
“You know that in a clickbait culture, we cannot waste time sharing and drawing attention to things that make us angry, or that we know to be false. You all know that it’s great to ‘like’ things on social media, but that it’s more important to look up from our phones, to get out into our communities, and to take real action; to stand up for what you believe in.”
And the 33-year-old royal wants to help “frustrated” young people to get their voices heard.
He added: “I know that while this generation of young people wants to make our world a better place, you often struggle to get your voices heard. I know that you, more than any previous generation, care deeply about the health and sustainability of the planet you’re going to inherit.
“And I see that you’re frustrated – that entrenched mindsets – are not keeping pace with the urgency – of the threats to our environment. But today you are all saying no to pessimism and cynicism. Here in Toronto – with both WE day and the Invictus Games – we are saying yes to optimism, yes to hope, and yes to belief.”

Meghan Markle’s 24 hour security

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle is having round the clock security.
The ‘Suits’ actress has reportedly been given protection 24 hours a day due to her high profile romance with Prince Harry.
And DailyMailTV reports that the security team have been hired in Toronto and it has been claimed that it is being paid by NBC Universal, who make her show ‘Suits’.
A resident living near Meghan revealed: “She [Meghan] hasn’t been around much for the last few days – Friday night they were here. I tell you, when he’s [Harry] here, the street is full of police and security people. They just go straight in and they don’t come out.”
Whilst builder Mike, who is working in the same street, added: “She usually has guys in a dark car – I’ve seen them escorting her in and they try to shield her a bit. She’s very nice – I saw her the other day and she smiled and waved at us. The owner of this house knows Meghan very well; she’s good friends with her.
“When I started working here, she told me not to worry if I see security stepped up because that means Harry is here. She has her own security people but when he is here, there are more.”
It comes after body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass revealed Harry is more “relaxed” with Meghan than his previous girlfriends.
She said: “First of all, we’ve never seen Harry this relaxed with anybody. That’s number one. Every girl he’s been with, there’s kind of been a distancing, an uptightness about him, a real formality. But with Meghan you really see there’s a connection.”

Meghan Markle ‘loving’ the Invictus Games

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle is “loving” the Invictus Games.
Prince Harry – who has been dating the ‘Suits’ actress for more than a year – has revealed the 36-year-old star cannot get enough of the Toronto event, an Olympics-style competition for injured service personnel.
Kyle Burnett, 37, a former US air force master sergeant, told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I asked him how his girlfriend was enjoying it and he said, ‘She loves it, she’s loving the Games,’ which is awesome.”
Harry and Meghan walked hand-in-hand to watch the wheelchair tennis in her first public appearance with the royal since they started dating 14 months ago.
The brunette beauty hasn’t had far to travel to the Canadian competition because she lives in Toronto, where she films US TV drama ‘Suits’.
While Harry and Meghan attracted plenty of attention earlier in the week, he has attended the majority of Invictus Games events on his own to ensure the spotlight is mainly being shined on the athletes.
The flame-haired royal admitted this week that the Games have been life-changing, and described the competitors as “fantastic role models”.
He said: “They’ve definitely changed my life.
“I think having a huge appreciation for service and duty is a life-changing moment. Anyone that has served in uniform, in a uniform, will be able to testify to that.
“Being able to wear your nation’s flag on your arm or on your chest, being part of a team, respect, teamwork, discipline, all of things … it’s lacking in the world today.
“These individuals, people that have served, people that continue to serve, whether they be injured or not, are fantastic role models and role models I think everybody should be looking up to.”

Prince Harry fought back tears at Invictus Games

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry fought back the tears as he watched an Invictus Games athlete get emotional.
The 33-year-old prince looked on as Michaela Gilewicz got teary eyed during the competition’s opening ceremony, and later admitted to her that he couldn’t watch any longer otherwise he would’ve started crying, too.
She said: “I was waiting in the area for powerlifting … and he came up and tapped me on the shoulder, shook my hand and said: ‘I’ve got something to tell you.’
“I’m like, oh no, it’s the same story everyone’s been telling me.
“He saw me tearing up and he said: ‘I had to look away because we were live to air on the BBC and you nearly set me off.’ ”
Michaela – who was discharged from the army because of an injured shoulder – admitted she had fulfilled a lifelong dream meeting the flame-haired royal.
She added to ABC Radio Hobart: “I was like, ‘Oh my God, this is the best moment of my life.’
“I’ve been waiting my whole life to meet Prince Harry.”
Harry – who attended the Games with his girlfriend Meghan Markle earlier this week for their first public appearance together – recently called for the world to “draw strength” from the event’s competitors.
He said: “Back in 2013, I was able to witness the Warrior Games in Colorado and to see the power of sport was truly remarkable. Yet it wasn’t on an international scale and not enough people were being involved in it.
“These individuals and their stories are remarkable. The general public across the world need to see this, to draw strength from it and at the same time, competitors themselves will be able to use sport to be able to rehabilitate themselves.”
Harry founded the Invictus Games, an international sports event for wounded armed service personnel, in 2014 and the inaugural competition was held on September 10-14 in the same year in London.

Meghan Markle earns sunglasses company £25k

OHMYGOSSIP — A sunglasses company made £25,000 in less than 48 hours after Meghan Markle wore their shades.
Finlay & Co’s Percy shipped the huge sum’s worth of glasses after the ‘Suits’ star was spotted wearing one of their products during her first public appearance alongside Prince Harry at the Invictus Games in Toronto earlier this week.
Co-founder David Lochhead, 32, said: “There’s been an unprecedented reaction. It’s blown us away. The reaction in terms of web sales and web hits around the world was like nothing we’d ever seen before.”
Demand was so high to get hold of a pair of the company’s sunglasses that their website crashed.
David – who set up the company with best pal Dane Butler, 33 – added to The Scottish Sun newspaper: “We’ve now made more than £25,000 in sales from the glasses since Monday night. It even led to our website crashing once. It’s extraordinary.
“It seems to be people want to know every detail of her outfit.
“They’ll find out what brand they are and then try and get that identical piece, which is what happened here.”
But Meghan isn’t the first royal relation to pop on a pair of Finlay & Co’s shades.
Duchess Catherine’s sister Pippa Middleton donned a pair of their sunglasses at the 2012 US Open tennis tournament which helped them shoot to fame.
Several other stars, including singing sensation Rihanna, model Cara Delevingne and actresses Jessica Alba and Emma Stone have also been known to wear a pair of the sunglasses.

Duchess Catherine’s ginger relief

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine has been eating ginger biscuits to try to relieve her morning sickness.
The Duchess of Cambridge has been suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum – an extreme form of acute morning sickness – for the third time so has been chowing down on the calorific treats in an attempt to make her feel better.
Speaking at an awards ceremony for the Metropolitan and City Police Orphans Fund, Prince William – who is patron of the group – told 98-year-old Iris Orrell his wife has been trying the biscuits but they haven’t been doing much good.
He said: “There is not much ginger can do to stop that. We’ve done all that.”
It is believed by some that ginger can help to relieve nausea and morning sickness.
William and Catherine, both 35, revealed earlier this month they were expecting their third child – a sibling for Prince George, four, and two-year-old Princess Charlotte – and confirmed the royal was suffering from morning sickness.
A Kensington Palace statement read: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.
“As with her previous two pregnancies, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today.
“The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”
Shortly after the statement was released, William’s brother Prince Harry admitted Catherine was “OK”.
He said: “I haven’t seen her for a while but I think I she’s OK.”

Labour Party apologises to Prince Harry

OHMYGOSSIP — The Labour Party in Britain has issued an apology to Prince Harry after an MP questioned his ability to fly a helicopter.
The 33-year-old royal previously served in the British Army – but his capabilities were recently called into question by Kensington MP Emma Dent Coad at a meeting called Reigning in the Monarchy.
According to The Sun newspaper, the MP said: “Harry can’t actually fly a helicopter. He tried to pass the helicopter exam about four times and he couldn’t get through it at all so he always goes for the co-pilot.
“So he just sits there going ‘vroom vroom’.”
But John Woodcock, MP for Barrow & Furness and former chairman of Labour’s backbench defence committee, has since issued an apology on Twitter, insisting Emma’s comments do not reflect the wider view of the Party.
In a lengthy message, he explained: “The highly inaccurate comments reportedly made by one of our colleagues, which disparage Prince Harry’s military service, in no way reflect the views of my party.
“Like everyone who put themselves in harm’s way to keep us safe, His Royal Highness deserves nothing but praise and respect for his service in the armed forces.
“In addition to his tours of duty in Afghanistan, Prince Harry inspires so many by the way he champions injured, ill and wounded servicemen and women through the Invictus Games which he founded.
“I am really sorry that this has happened.”
Shadow Education Secretary Angela Rayner has also distanced herself from the comments.
Appearing on ‘Good Morning Britain’, she said: “It’s never been a secret that in the Labour party there are people who are anti-royalist. I personally feel the current generation – Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate – have done the royal family proud.
“We are a party where people hold different views. She’s entitled to her opinion.
“Our view as the Labour party in general is that the Royal Family do contribute to Britain.”

Donald Trump says he could have seduced Princess Diana

OHMYGOSSIP — US President Donald Trump once boasted he could have seduced the late Princess Diana.
The outspoken businessman-turned-politician made the remarks during an interview with radio DJ Howard Stern, which has only now come to light.
During the interview, which was recorded just a few months after Princess Diana had died in a car accident in Paris in 1997, Stern asked Trump: “Why do people think it’s egotistical of you to say you could’ve gotten with Lady Di?
“You could’ve gotten her, right? You could’ve nailed her.”
To which Trump replied: “I think I could have.”
Subsequently, the property tycoon joked about giving Princess Diana a HIV test before he would agree to any sort of romantic encounter.
Joining in with a made-up scene contrived by the DJ, Trump said: “Go back over to my Lexus, because I have a new doctor. We wanna give you a little check-up.”
Later, Trump – who has been a regular guest on Stern’s radio show through his controversial career – complimented the Princess, saying she was “supermodel beautiful” and that “she had the height. She had magnificent skin.”
By contrast, BBC TV presenter Selina Scott claimed in 2015 that Trump had given Diana “the creeps” when he was trying to woo her in the 90s.
She claimed that the American billionaire had “bombarded her at Kensington Palace with massive bouquets of flowers, each worth hundreds of pounds” in an attempt to gain her affection, but Diana was left feeling unimpressed.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stay at luxurious Toronto hotel

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry reportedly snuck Meghan Markle into his £1,400-a-night Toronto hotel suite following their appearance at the Invictus Games.
The loved-up couple made their first official public appearance together at the sporting event in Canada, and the duo subsequently retreated to a luxurious Royal Suite, which features a fireplace, a bar, and 16-seater dining room, according to the Daily Mail newspaper.
Their spectacular room cost as much as £1,400 per night, although a slightly smaller room was available for £1,160.
Prince Harry and Meghan’s appearance in Canada comes amid intense speculation that the duo are preparing to tie the knot, with a source recently saying that they are “heading in [the] direction” of an engagement.
The high-profile couple have been dating since mid-2016 and while rumours of an imminent engagement are said to be premature, their relationship has been progressing serenely in recent times.
A source explained: “Harry and Meghan are not engaged yet, reports that they are are jumping the gun slightly.
“They are definitely heading in that direction, but when they do get engaged Harry will follow Royal protocol and an announcement will be made by the Palace.”
Prince Harry and the ‘Suits’ actress are said to be very much in “love” with each other, but neither of them wishes to commit to marriage before they’re totally ready.
The insider added: “Harry and Meghan are very much in love, but they both want to make completely sure that they are ready to take the next step before doing so.
“Harry does not want to make the same mistake as his mother and father did. When he marries it will be for life, and it’s not something he is going to rush into.”

Prince George ‘didn’t want to go to school’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince George isn’t relishing his start to school life, according to Prince William.
The four-year-old British royal only started attending Thomas’s Battersea in Wandsworth, south London, three weeks ago, and it seems he’s not enjoying his time in the classroom.
Mum-of-two Louise Smith recently shared a conversation with Prince William and of their chat, she told HELLO! magazine: “It was really exciting meeting William.
“He told me he’d just dropped Prince George off at school and he didn’t want to go. Sounds a bit like mine, really.”
The Prince’s reported comments come shortly after Jane Moore – who lives close to the school and has friends who send their children there – claimed Prince George won’t be allowed to have a best friend at the esteemed institution.
Jane said he will be discouraged from bonding with just one person and will, instead, be pushed to make friends with everyone in his class.
She explained: “There’s a policy that if your child is having a party, unless every child in the class is invited, you don’t give out the invites in class, which I think is a good thing as you don’t feel excluded.
“There are signs everywhere saying be kind, that’s the ethos of the school. They don’t encourage you to have best friends. It’s a very traditional school in the way that I learned when I went to school, in that robust learning.
“The phonetics of the alphabet and stuff like that, which a lot of school don’t do anymore. He will learn to read and write very quickly.
“It’s a school that really expects parental involvement. The parents are very heavily involved in the school, so they [William and Catherine] will be as well.”

Prince William responds to Prince Harry rumours in diplomatic fashion

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William responded with a diplomatic laugh when the prospect of Prince Harry marrying Meghan Markle was put to him.
The 33-year-old royal and the ‘Suits’ actress have been dating since mid-2016 and rumours have recently been rife that the couple could tie the knot over the next 12 months – but Prince William has remained tight-lipped amid the speculation.
During the Prince’s recent visit to Milton Keynes, where he met craftsmen who make the vellum for royal document, Paul Wright, the general manager for William Cowley Parchment Makers, told him: “If Prince Harry marries Meghan then his certificate will be on our vellum.”
The Instrument of Consent proclaims the monarch’s approval of a marriage.
But, apparently, when the Prince was informed of the use of the vellum, he responded in cryptic fashion.
Paul explained: “William just laughed – a nice laugh.”
Prince William’s coy response to the marriage speculation comes shortly after it was reported that Meghan has asked the Duchess of Cambridge to be her maid of honour.
Prince Harry has yet to propose to his girlfriend, but it’s been claimed that the 36-year-old actress has already started to put plans in place for her big day, including inviting Duchess Catherine – who is married to Harry’s older brother – to be her chief bridesmaid.
The brunette beauty is reported to have sent her prospective sister-in-law a rose gold diamond bracelet, which is believed to have cost Meghan over £1,000, alongside a note asking Catherine to take on the important role.

Sarah Ferguson: My bottom saved my life

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Ferguson says her bottom “saved [her] life”.
The Duchess of York is grateful she was only addicted to food during her younger years when her mother, Susan Barrantes, divorced Sarah’s father, Major Ronald Ferguson, when the royal was just 12 years old.
She said: “When I was 12, I became a compulsive eater and used food as my emotional tool [to cope] with the loss of my mother, who went to live in Argentina.
“But I always say the size of my bottom saved my life because my addiction was to food, not anything else.
“You beat yourself up, suffer self-doubt, then you hate yourself because you know you shouldn’t be eating.”
The 57-year-old royal – who recently became a British Heart Foundation ambassador – has since slimmed down, partly helped by a move to Switzerland in October 2013, where she used “the mountains as [her] gym”, but also got angry at the picturesque peaks.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, she added: “I was furious with myself for getting to 187lbs. Furious. I would go and scream at the poor mountains. I’m a redhead and a Scottish and Irish mix so the mountains got it.”
Sarah recently admitted she always used to wish she had bulimia when she was younger so that she could be as “beautiful and thin” as her former sister-in-law Princess Diana, who tragically died in a car crash in Paris in 1997 aged 36.
She said: “I was a binge-eater. I never could get bulimia because I just didn’t have that mental state to go that far, but I always wished I could.
“But that just shows you how dangerous and what place I got to. To wish you could have a mental illness to that level is a very serious place to get to.”

Sarah Ferguson ‘so close’ to daughters

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Ferguson and her daughters call themselves “The Tripod” because they are “so close”.
The Duchess of York has revealed she and Princesses Beatrice, 29, and Eugenie, 27, use the unusual moniker because they are together all the time and always speak to each other if one of them has a problem, and she is pleased they have learnt from her “thousands” of mistakes.
She said: “My girls’ health and hearts are extremely strong and doing very well. I don’t worry at all because I know they keep good diets, they exercise and they are emotionally supported so the stress levels aren’t there.
“My girls and I call ourselves ‘The Tripod’ because we’re so close. They will ring me up if they feel they have a problem.
“And they’ve learnt from my mistakes – thousands of them. It’s great.”
The 57-year-old royal remains close to her daughters’ father Prince Andrew despite their split in 1996 after 10 years of marriage, and the quartet hold a family meeting every fortnight to discuss what is going on in their lives.
She said: “We’re a family unit and we lead by example. We support each other emotionally and we support each other health-wise. At least every two weeks we sit down together and communicate, all four of us.
“We talk about what we’re doing, about our work and about our health.”
Sarah is also grateful to her own mother Susan Barrantes, who divorced her husband, Sarah’s father, Major Ronald Ferguson, when she was just 12 years old.
Speaking to HELLO! magazine, she added: “I must say thanks to mum because she abandoned ship when I was 12. It taught me I will never do that to my children.
“As a result, I think the one thing I’ve done incredibly well – although I say it myself – is that I’m a really good mum and I think that my girls show that.”
