Prince Harry thanks veteran for service

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry thanked a 101-year-old veteran for his years of service when they met at the Invictus Games.
The flame-haired royal praised Sergeant Norm Baker – who received a two minute standing ovation inside Toronto’s Mattamy Athletic Stadium ahead of the wheelchair rugby.
Revealing what they talked about, he said:”He thanked me.”
And when Prince Harry heard his story, he told him: “Wow, that’s amazing. Fantastic.”
Sergeant Norm Baker wanted to attend the games, which are Paralympic-style games are for injured service veterans, to see the “spirit” of the competitors and support them for the “wonderful job” they do.
Explaining why he wanted to attend the games, he said: “I wanted to show the athletes my support and enjoy the games. See their spirit. They show amazing strength of character as well as body. I think they do a wonderful job. It’s important because without this, a lot of them would not be where they are today.
“It’s Prince Harry’s efforts that have encouraged them to find the competitive spirit, self-confidence and join in: make them feel as if they have a place in the world when they could have lost hope. We just had to do the best we could. Some of them [the older generation] didn’t have anything to live for. Harry’s given this generation that spirit.”
