Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘as good as engaged’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “as good as engaged”.
The flame-haired royal is reportedly waiting until the right moment to make a formal announcement of the couple’s plan to marry each other.
A source told E! News: “While Meghan may not be wearing a ring or a formal engagement announced, it’s fair to say they’re as good as engaged now.
“They’ve spoken about their marriage plans openly with each other, and friends and family around them are pretty much thinking about wedding attire already!”
It comes after Harry and Meghan were spotted on their first public engagement together as they attended the Invictus Games in Toronto, Canada alongside each other.
Since Harry and Meghan started dating, the ‘Suits’ actress has been given round the clock security because of her high profile romance.
A resident living near Meghan revealed: “She [Meghan] hasn’t been around much for the last few days – Friday night they were here. I tell you, when he’s [Harry] here, the street is full of police and security people. They just go straight in and they don’t come out.”
Meanwhile, body language expert Dr. Lillian Glass previously revealed Harry is more “relaxed” with Meghan than he was with his previous girlfriends.
She said: “First of all, we’ve never seen Harry this relaxed with anybody. That’s number one. Every girl he’s been with, there’s kind of been a distancing, an uptightness about him, a real formality. But with Meghan you really see there’s a connection.”

Prince William wants to sign up to the gym

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William wants to sign up to the gym.
The 35-year-old royal is said to be keen to sign up with the Chelsea Harbour Club, the exclusive gym his mother, the late Princess Diana of Wales, used to go to.
It is believed he stopped off there after dropping his son Prince George, four, to school at Thomas’s Battersea one day.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper of his visit: “He visited the cafe and told staff that Diana would buy a cookie for him as a treat if he’d been behaving well. He still remembers how special they were. The chefs started flapping, saying they’d find the recipe and rustle one up right away, but he said he didn’t want any special treatment.”
However, the Duke of Cambridge may find it difficult to make time to go to the gym after the couple – who are also parents to two-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte – recently revealed they are expecting their third child.
A statement from Kensington Palace read: “Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child. The Queen and both their families are delighted with the news.
“As with her previous two pregnancies, the Duchess is suffering from Hyperemisis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today. The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury hopes he won’t conduct Queen Elizabeth’s funeral

OHMYGOSSIP — The Archbishop of Canterbury hopes he won’t have to conduct the Queen’s funeral service.
The Most Revd Justin Welby is hoping “God willing” that it would be someone else presiding over the ceremony when the 91-year-old monarch passes away.
He said: “I don’t lose sleep [but] I do hope I don’t have to do that. Yes, I do [know how big it would be]. It’s enormous whoever does it – God willing someone else – because it is an enormous public event. But as a parish priest, at every funeral you think about the enormousness of it.”
And the Archbishop thinks Queen Elizabeth is the “most extraordinary person” he has ever met.
Speaking to GQ magazine, he added: “I don’t want to get into details because it is not something I want to talk about, but the Queen is the most extraordinary person, one of the most extraordinary people I have ever met, in every possible way. When it happens it will be the most extraordinary historic moment.”
It comes after it was revealed that Operation London Bridge will kick in when the Queen passes away. Sir Christopher Geidt, the Queen’s private secretary, will receive the news first and then will contact the prime minister, who will be told “London Bridge is down” on secure lines to avoid the news coming out prematurely.
From the Foreign Office’s Global Response Centre, the 15 governments outside the UK who the Queen is the head of state for will be told before the other 36 other Commonwealth nations will be made aware.

New commemorative coin marks Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s 70th wedding anniversary will be honoured with a new set of commemorative coins.
The 91-year-old monarch and the Duke of Edinburgh’s long relationship has been marked with the release of gold proof, fine silver, silver proof and brilliant uncirculated coins that range in price from £5 to £20.
One side of the coin sees the British monarch and the Duke of Edinburgh’s portraits side to side whilst the other side of the coin features the words, “Wedded love has joined them in happiness 1947-2017” alongside an image of the couple riding horses together.
The design of the couple of horseback was created by artist John Bergdahl, reflecting their joint passion for all things equestrian whilst sculptor Etienne Milner made the reverse side of the coin, which shows Prince Philip in his role as royal consort.
A spokesman for the Royal Mint said: “They have built an enduring partnership that is an inspiration to us all, as Britain celebrates this unique personal moment in royal history.”
It comes after Prince Charles struck a new coin dedicated to his father earlier this year, which marked Prince Philip’s retirement from public duties.
Gordon Summers, chief engraver for the Royal Mint, said at the time: “The image of the Duke of Edinburgh was taken from a prize medal from the 1970s. We are already working on a coin for Prince Charles’ 70th birthday, and I showed him the design for it. He asked what references we had used. We had a photography session with him about a year ago. We did not alter the image of his father, so his father looks younger than him on the coins. He did say ‘my father got to choose a younger portrait.'”

The 68-year-old royal will be joined by his wife as they visit three Asian countries at the end of October to undertake almost 50 engagements across the 10 days.
Mr. Scott Furssedonn-Wood, Deputy Private Secretary for The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, said in a statement: “The visit will highlight shared priorities such as celebrating community, championing cultural diversity and business innovation. There will also be a particular focus on education and youth opportunity; and on sustainability and conservation.
“Clarence House has worked closely with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the British High Commissions in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and New Delhi, and with the host governments in each country, to design a programme that demonstrates the strength and significance of these relationships, and which reflect Their Royal Highnesses’ deep personal interest and expertise on a range of issues.”

Jimmy Choo: Princess Diana is a ‘real princess’

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana was a “real princess”, according to shoe designer Jimmy Choo.
The 68-year-old Malaysian-born designer worked alongside the late royal for seven years until her death in 1997 and has praised her “good heart” and “down to earth” nature.
He said: “She was real princess. Down to earth, simple. Very nice, with a very good heart. She did a lot of charity, and left a good legacy.”
Jimmy remembers the last shoes he ever designed for the late Princess of Wales, who was the mother of Prince William and Prince Harry.
He added: “The last pair of shoes I designed for the late princess was the flat pump.”
And the designer revealed Diana was always very thankful for the shoes he designed for her.
He told Australia’s The Today Show: “She was very down to earth. She never complained. She never said the shoe was too tight, or too big. Never.
“She always sent me a card that said, ‘Thanks Jimmy, thanks for coming to Kensington Palace to see me.’ … She always said, ‘I will leave it to you Jimmy. You’re the expert.'”
Whilst it is not known what happened to Diana’s designer shoes, Duchess Catherine has been wearing jewellery belonging to the late Princess.
London-based jeweller Milne – who designed the bracelet that Diana wore in 1989 and Catherine wore again in 2017 on a trip to Berlin – wrote on his website: “I am delighted to see in the national press that the Duchess of Cambridge chose to wear one of her late mother-in-law’s favourite pearl and diamond bracelets on the Royal Tour in Germany last week. This is of particular interest to me in that it was designed by me and featured in our 1988/1989 jewellery catalogue … This is the bracelet that Princess Diana wore on several occasions including at the Birthright Ball in 1989 and with her iconic Catherine Walker ‘Elvis’ dress in Hong Kong and has now been seen adorning the Duchess of Cambridge!”

Duchess Catherine super-fan accounts shut down

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine’s super-fan social media sites have been taken down.
The 35-year-old royal’s fans have been left devastated after their online accounts, which celebrate the brunette beauty’s fashion choices, were shut down on Instagram.
Janelle Nash – who ran a blog and social media account dedicated to replicating Kate’s wardrobe called @RoyalRepliKate – told the Mail Online’s Femail: “On Instagram, a targeted effort is happening to erase accounts of certain Replikaters.
“Already six people have lost their accounts with no real answer as to what violation occurred by Instagram. It feels very Salem witch trials.”
However, Ms Nash – who has spent over £30,000 on replicating Catherine’s outfits over the years – won’t let her site shut down prevent her from sharing her look books as she has decided to start a new account and has simply added an ‘S’ to her handle.
She explained: “I always attributed photos I used, I never altered them, and I had grown to over 13,000 followers. It would be interesting to understand what is going on. Accounts who have posted and used the same photos have not been disabled.
“It seems a very targeted effort against certain individuals. We are very sad as we have spent immense amount of time and effort on this.
“To have it taken away with no justification or specific reasoning… we weren’t even notified if we had done something inadvertent so that we could rectify the mistake.”
Ms. Nash isn’t the only person with a super-fan account for Catherine that has been suspended.

Duke of Cambridge to jet to New Zealand alone

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke of Cambridge will leave his wife behind at home while he flies to New Zealand next week.
The 35-year-old royal will jet across to the other side of the world on behalf of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth to attend the country’s Commemoration for the Battle of Passchendaele on October 12, but his spouse Duchess Catherine will remain in the UK as she’s still battling with morning sickness.
Kensington Palace announced the news on its official Twitter account on Monday (02.10.17) night, writing: “The Duke of Cambridge, representing HM The Queen, will attend the New Zealand Commemoration for the Battle of Passchendaele on 12th October. (sic)”
It’s not known how long the duke will spend in New Zealand but it’s believed he won’t be gone for long as he’ll no doubt want to get back to his four-year-old son George – who has just started school in London – and his two-year-old daughter Charlotte, as well as his pregnant wife.
William and Catherine revealed earlier this month they were expecting their third child and confirmed the royal was suffering from acute morning sickness so had to pull out of some royal engagements.
A Kensington Palace statement read: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child. The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news.
“As with her previous two pregnancies, The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children’s Centre in London today. The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace.”
Shortly after the statement was released, William’s brother Prince Harry admitted Catherine was “OK”.
He said: “I haven’t seen her for a while but I think she’s OK.”

Barack Obama ‘quizzed’ Prince Harry on new love

OHMYGOSSIP — Barack Obama “quizzed” Prince Harry on his relationship with Meghan Markle at the Invictus Games.
The 33-year-old royal has remained relatively tight lipped on his romance with the ‘Suits’ actress since they started dating almost a year ago but the former President of the US couldn’t resist questioning him on his glamorous girlfriend when they sat together to watch a wheelchair basketball match.
Hayley Stover – who was sitting next to Harry – told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “Obama asked about Meghan, and Harry let him know she had been to watch the tennis with him. He asked if she was enjoying the Games and Harry was really smiling as he said yes. He looked so happy. It was cute.”
The couple were centre of attention over the weekend when they were spotted sitting together with Meghan’s mother Doria Radlan when the Paralympics style event came to a close in Toronto, Canada.
The 36-year-old actress’ close friends Jessica Mulroney and Markus Anderson were also in attendance when Prince Harry spoke to those gathered at the Air Canada Centre.
He told the crowd: “I told you, you would be inspired. But I didn’t say, that these games might leave you questioning if you are living to your own true potential. To the thousands who filled the stands this week, and the millions who watched at home, let me issue you a challenge. Don’t just move on from these games with happy memories. Instead, make an Invictus goal for yourselves.”
Since going public with her romance with Prince Harry, Meghan is receiving round the clock security.
A resident living near Meghan revealed: “She [Meghan] hasn’t been around much for the last few days – Friday night they were here. I tell you, when he’s [Harry] here, the street is full of police and security people. They just go straight in and they don’t come out.”

Queen Elizabeth ‘saddened’ to hear of Las Vegas shooting

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth was “saddened” to hear about the shooting in Las Vegas.
The 91-year-old matriarch sent a message to President Donald Trump after she and her husband Prince Philip found out that around 60 people had died and more than 500 had been injured after a man opened fire at Route 91 Festival in Nevada over the weekend.
According to the Daily Mail newspaper, she said: “Prince Philip and I were saddened to learn of the terrible attack in Las Vegas. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families and those who have been injured.”
The queen’s sweet message comes four months after she used her annual birthday speech to reflect on the UK’s “very sombre national mood” after it had been hit by “terrible tragedies” – including the terror attacks in Manchester and London and the devastating fire at London’s Grenfell Tower – since the beginning of the year.
She said: “Today is traditionally a day of celebration. This year, however, it is difficult to escape a very sombre national mood. In recent months, the country has witnessed a succession of terrible tragedies.
“As a nation, we continue to reflect and pray for all those who have been directly affected by these events. During recent visits in Manchester and London, I have been profoundly struck by the immediate inclination of people throughout the country to offer comfort and support to those in desperate need.
“Put to the test, the United Kingdom has been resolute in the face of adversity. United in our sadness, we are equally determined, without fear or favour, to support all those rebuilding lives so horribly affected by injury and loss.”

Dawn French thought Queen Mother was a witch

OHMYGOSSIP — Dawn French thought the Queen Mother was a “witch” when she first met her.
The 59-year-old comedienne had “nightmares for years” when she saw the late royal – who died in 2002 – at the age of three because of her “virtually black teeth.”
Speaking in her stand-up show, ‘Dawn French Live: 30 Million Minutes’, she said: “We commenced our well-practised bowing and curtseying. And what happened next was the stuff of my nightmares for years to come, because as I arose from my rather well executed curtsey, the Queen Mother smiled – and she had virtually black teeth. Black teeth, like a witch. Believe me when you’re three years and nine months old, black teeth equals witch. I couldn’t believe that a queen witch is coming into my house and nobody was doing anything to stop her.
“I was utterly dumbstruck and refused to look at her or talk to her for the entire rest of the visit. It was quite simply the most terrifying half hour of my life.”
Dawn met the royal after her father Denys – who was an RAF sergeant – was chosen to host tea for the Queen Mother during a visit to his base in Yorkshire in 1961.
In archive footage, screened during the funny woman’s show, Dawn can be seen wearing a yellow cardigan as she shook the royal’s hand outside her home.
However, after she spotted her dirty gnashers, she refused to talk to her again.

Sarah Ferguson: I’m a ‘really good’ mother

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Ferguson thinks she is a “really good” mother.
The Duchess of York – who has daughters Princess Beatrice, 29, and Princess Eugenie, 27, with her ex-husband Prince Andrew – feels motherhood is the “one thing she’s done incredibly well”.
She told HELLO! magazine: “I think the one thing I’ve done incredibly well – although I say it myself – is that I’m a really good mum. And I think that my girls show that.”
Meanwhile, Sarah previously revealed her and her daughters call themselves “The Tripod” because they are “so close”.
She said: “My girls’ health and hearts are extremely strong and doing very well. I don’t worry at all because I know they keep good diets, they exercise and they are emotionally supported so the stress levels aren’t there.
“My girls and I call ourselves ‘The Tripod’ because we’re so close. They will ring me up if they feel they have a problem. And they’ve learnt from my mistakes – thousands of them. It’s great.”
And the 57-year-old royal remains close to her daughters’ father Prince Andrew – despite their split in 1996 after a decade of marriage – and the four of them like to hold a family meeting every fortnight to discuss what is going on in their lives.
She added: “We’re a family unit and we lead by example. We support each other emotionally and we support each other health-wise. At least every two weeks we sit down together and communicate, all four of us. We talk about what we’re doing, about our work and about our health.”

Whilst builder Mike, who is working in the same street, added: “She usually has guys in a dark car – I’ve seen them escorting her in and they try to shield her a bit. She’s very nice – I saw her the other day and she smiled and waved at us. The owner of this house knows Meghan very well; she’s good friends with her. When I started working here, she told me not to worry if I see security stepped up because that means Harry is here. She has her own security people but when he is here, there are more.”

Prince William celebrates business at International Business Festival launch

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William celebrated business and trade as he spoke at the launch of the 2018 International Business Festival.
The 35-year-old royal – whose wife, Duchess Catherine, is expecting their third child – praised the important work that is being done to help “build connections with trading partners” across the world.
He said: “It is fantastic to be here this evening in my capacity as Patron of the 2018 International Business Festival. Britain has always been a great trading nation, not only for itself but as a hub for global trade between other partners.
“As a nation, we have always celebrated trade – which is one of the oldest forms of human activity – as a means for prosperity, liberalising our society and raising the common good. The International Business Festival celebrates this heritage. The Festival’s organising principle is that business can, and should, be a force for good.
“As we look to the future, we all recognise just how important it will be that we work to build connections with trading partners all around the world – strengthening links with old friends, and creating new opportunities.”
And the Duke of Cambridge – who also has Prince George, four, and Princess Charlotte, two, with Duchess Catherine – praised the festival organisers for focusing on the efforts of small and medium sized companies in particular.
He added: “When meeting the people behind the small and medium sized companies at these events, I am always struck by the ingenuity, drive and commitment on display.
“Enterprises like these are the engines of the British economy. The International Business Festival has a vital role to play in providing the support and connections they need to grow.
“Since its launch, the Festival has been successful in helping businesses to attract significant investment and access to opportunities. I am very pleased to see the way in which the Festival is particularly focusing on S.M.E.s this year as the backbone of our economy.”

Queen Elizabeth refused Star Wars’ filming request

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth rejected ‘Star Wars’ request to film in the grounds of Windsor Great Park.
The 91-year-old monarch refused the science fiction franchise a chance to film in the grounds of Windsor Castle “a few years ago”, Nick Day from the Crown Estate has revealed to the BBC.
He said: “‘Star Wars’ was just such a huge thing that the risk for the park was just too great. The location they were interested in wasn’t suitable for large numbers of people. ‘Star Wars’ is a huge machine, and there’s also massive outside interest. It wasn’t right for here.”
Whilst ‘Star Wars’ didn’t manage to film in the park, there are some scenes from ‘The Legend of Tarzan’, ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’ and ‘Goodbye Christopher Robin’ filmed in the grounds.
Day also revealed around eight out of 10 requests for filming are turned down.
As well as being a favoured filming location, Windsor Great Park also has its own vineyard, where 16,700 chardonnay, pinot noir, and pinot meunier vines were planted across a seven-acre patch in 2011.
Speaking about the sparkling wine produced from these grapes, Tamara Roberts, chief executive of the Ridgeview estate in Ditchling, East Sussex – where the grapes are turned into wine – said: “As the vineyard matures, the wines will get better and better.”
Whilst Julia Trustram Eve of the English Wine Producers trade body added: “It is fantastic to see another home-grown success. I have not been fortunate enough to taste any myself, but I have dropped a monumental hint with the maker that I would very much like to do so.”

Prince Harry: The sky’s the limit with the Invictus Games

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry says the “sky’s the limit” with the Invictus Games.
As the Toronto edition of the Paralympic-style games for injured veterans prepares comes to a close, the flame-haired royal has spoken of his immense pride at its success so far.
He told CTV: “The sky’s the limit. It would be silly [to end it] as we have a social responsibility to continue this for a long as it’s needed. The world needs Invictus, these guys [competitors] need Invictus, I need Invictus, we all need our fix. We all need to be inspired, we all need to be encouraged and reminded of what duty and service is all about.”
And the 33-year-old royal feels the Invictus Games has been “on another level” this year.
He added: “It’s been on another level. It’s been amazing. What’s great is how many kids have been getting into it and showing their support, that’s who we wanted to reach.
“What people don’t see behind the scenes is that there’s been loads of Invictus things going on in schools across Canada too.”
Prince Harry had previously revealed how the Invictus Games “changed his life”.
He explained: “They’ve definitely changed my life. I think having a huge appreciation for service and duty is a life-changing moment. Anyone that has served in uniform, in a uniform, will be able to testify to that. Being able to wear your nation’s flag on your arm or on your chest, being part of a team, respect, teamwork, discipline, all of things … it’s lacking in the world today.
“These individuals, people that have served, people that continue to serve, whether they be injured or not, are fantastic role models and role models I think everybody should be looking up to.”
