Queen’s portrait removed from Oxford University common room following vote

OHMYGOSSIP — Oxford University students have voted to remove a portrait of Queen Elizabeth from their common room.
Members of Magdalen College Middle Common Room voted ten to two in favour of removing the painting, calling it a symbol of “recent colonial history”.
The motion was apparently put forward over fears students could feel excluded by the portrait. The minutes from Monday’s meeting said: “For some students, depictions of the monarch and the British monarchy represent recent colonial history”.
Contrasting views of two anonymous members were made public, with one saying: “effectively ‘cancelling’ the Queen” sent out a “dire message that is sure to enrage”. While the other disputed that claim saying it is simply about “making people feel welcome”. They said: “We are not capable of cancelling the Queen. This is about our communal space and making people feel welcome.”
Barrister Dinah Rose, who became president of Magdalen College in 2020, insisted the students had the right to “free speech and political debate”, but added that their views were not representative of the college in general.
The removal of the picture has already been criticised by the UK government, with education secretary Gavin Williamson calling the decision “simply absurd”.
Taking to Twitter, he said: “Oxford University students removing a picture of the queen is simply absurd. She is the Head of State and a symbol of what is best about the UK. During her long reign she has worked tirelessly to promote British values of tolerance, inclusivity and respect around the world.”
While, Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick called the move “student union politics” which we shouldn’t “waste too much time on”.
He said: “I have a portrait of the Queen on my office wall in my government department and I’m proud to do so. I wouldn’t want anyone to disrespect her out of ignorance in this way but I don’t think that we should waste too much time on student union politics.”

Princess Eugenie shares first video of her son August

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Eugenie has shared the first video of her baby son August.
Taking to Instagram, the 31-year-old royal – who is the daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York – shared footage of her four-month old tot for the first time.
In the clip August is seen playing with his toy shark and Eugenie captioned the video: “It’s World Oceans Day, a day to celebrate our magnificent oceans and all the creates in it. A day to raise awareness for something so integral to all our lives, and a day to snuggle with fluffy sharks.”
Last month, Eugenie shared the first photos of her young son to mark her husband Jack Brooksbank’s birthday.
She shared three snaps to mark Jack’s 34th birthday – his first since the couple became parents to August Philip Hawke in February.
Jack was pictured holding his son to his chest with August’s personalised cardigan on show, while he beamed at the camera in the second picture. The final snap saw him pictured walking in the countryside.
Eugenie captioned the Instagram post: “You are exceptional. Happy Birthday my love.”
The couple revealed their son’s name shortly after they welcomed him into the world earlier this year.
Eugenie shared a picture of her and Jack together with August on Instagram at the time, writing: “We wanted to introduce you to August Philip Hawke Brooksbank.
“Thank you for so many wonderful messages. Our hearts are full of love for this little human, words can’t express. We are excited to be able to share these photos with you.⁣
“[Photo] by our wonderful midwife. Thank you to the wonderful essential workers including our midwife who came to discharge our boy.”
August’s middle name Philip is a tribute to Eugenie’s grandfather, the Duke of Edinburgh, who passed away just two months after his birth.

Former rescue dog is one of royal family’s top bomb disposal dogs

OHMYGOSSIP — A former rescue dog is now used at royal events to sniff out explosives.
Roxy the Staffie was present at the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral as well as Princess Beatrice’s recent wedding to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi.
She is apparently the only dog of her breed working as an explosive dog in the UK and also the only Staffie to be working for Hampshire and Thames Valley dog unit.
Her handler PC Carter explained the high-profile role Roxy performs for the royals.
Speaking to the Express, she said: “We work together to search for explosives in lots of circumstances, to make sure VIPs and members of the public are safe.
“Last summer, Roxy and I worked at Windsor Castle ahead of the private wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and, this month, we secured the local area ahead of Prince Philip’s funeral. I am incredibly proud of her for carrying out such an important job ahead of such large events. Roxy is a superstar. She is intelligent, very systematic and thorough. For her, it is all a big, fun game and she just loves to work. To see her working and know she’s a rescue dog whose life could have been so much different makes me so proud. It is amazing to see her doing her job and loving it.”
The royals haven’t had a good time of it when it comes to dogs lately, after it was revealed last month that Queen Elizabeth’s new dorgi puppy had died.
The 95-year-old monarch was gifted the pooch, named Fergus, when her husband Prince Philip – who died in April at the age of 99 – fell ill and was taken to hospital earlier this year.
And just over a month after the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh, the Queen was mourning the death of Fergus, after he passed away at just five months old.

Travellers moved on after setting up camp outside Windsor Castle

OHMYGOSSIP — Police have moved a group of travellers who’d set up camp outside Queen Elizabeth’s Windsor Castle residence.
The 30 caravans and motorhomes had been set up on the front lawn of the Queen’s second home in Berkshire, where she is thought to be staying currently, but were moved on after being spoken to by police, officials and wardens.
However, they then proceeded to set up another camp less than a mile and a half away at Seymour Park, which is opposite the Royal Windsor Racecourse.
A spokesman for Thames Valley Police confirmed they’d attended after receiving a call about the unwanted visitors.
They said: “At around 6pm last night Thames Valley Police were called about an unauthorised encampment on the Long Walk in Windsor. Officers engaged with the landowner and also those in the encampment and those who had gathered dispersed.”
On Wednesday (02.06.21) the queen’s son the Duke of York was photographed driving past the group of travellers but nobody seemed to notice as Prince Andrew managed to go incognito by wearing sunglasses and headphones.
While a spokesperson for Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead Council said they had not yet sought a court order forcing the group to move on again.
They said: “The encampment was set up last night at about 8pm after they were moved on from the Long Walk. The council is aware and in line with policy and statutory requirements on us welfare visits are being undertaken before any decisions are made on how to proceed. The situation will continue to be actively monitored to ensure that the impact on local residents and the environment is minimised.”
Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest castle in the world that is still lived in. It has been the home of 39 monarchs and is open to visitors. In 1992, it was badly damaged in a fire, with restoration costing £36.5 million despite early predictions suggesting the cost might be nearer the £60 million pound mark.

Prince Charles almost broke Queen Elizabeth’s crown

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles almost broke his mother Queen Elizabeth’s priceless crown.
The incident occurred just after the queen’s coronation when the then four-year-old Prince of Wales made a grab for the prized possession, only for the mother of Princess Margaret’s former lady-in-waiting’s swift thinking and response preventing a potential disaster.
That’s according to 88-year-old Lady Anne Glenconner, who was Princess Margaret’s lady-in-waiting from 1971 until her death in 2002. She is the daughter of Thomas Coke, 5th Earl of Leicester and his wife Lady Elizabeth York.
Speaking on jeweller Annoushka Ducas’ podcast ‘My Life in Seven Charms’, Lady Anne told the tale of the young prince’s immediate fascination with his mother’s glimmering crown, which could so easily have resulted in it being smashed to smithereens.
After the host asked her if she’d ever tried the crown on herself, Lady Anne, said: “I wouldn’t dare touch it. No, no, completely sacred. Prince Charles got his paws on it, however old he was, when we got back to Buckingham Palace. Because [the Queen] took it off, put it on a table, and Prince Charles made a beeline for it. And we thought he was going to drop it. We thought, ‘Oh my goodness that would be a bad omen’. But luckily, I think my mother, as a lady-in-waiting, seized it from him and took it away.”
Lady Anne also revealed that the Queen would sometimes wear the St Edwards Crown, which is said to weigh more than 1kg and is adorned with almost 3,000 precious stones, while writing letters in order to practice for official engagements.
She added: “I think Prince Charles says he remembers going in and seeing her [wearing it]. And asked her why she’s wearing it and she said she was practicing.”
The crown was originally made in 1661 for King Charles II, but although it’s been traditionally used to crown monarchs since the 13th century, only a total of six have actually been crowned with it.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s marriage will last says Princess Diana’s psychic pal Sally Morgan

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s marriage “will last”, according to celebrity psychic Sally Morgan.
The 69-year-old medium claims to have been a close friend of Prince Harry’s late mother Princess Diana – who died in a car crash in 1997 – and suggests there is “no doubt” that Harry and Duchess Meghan’s relationship will stand the test of time.
Speaking on ‘The Morning Show’ in Australia, Sally told hosts Kylie Gillies and Matt Shirvington: “I know lots of predictions say it won’t last, but I think their marriage will last. There’s no doubt about that.”
During her appearance on the show, the fortune teller also shed further light on her connection to Diana, whom she met through the princess’ sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale.
Sally claimed she had “almost daily” conversations with Diana, and said she was “very close” to both Diana and Sarah.
She said: “It’s only now that I look back and realise just how amazing it was to be able to speak to her for four and a half years, almost daily. [Lady Sarah] was her lady-in-waiting, so when she came to London – she lives in Norfolk – to accompany the Princess of Wales on functions, she would pop in and see me. I was very close to them both for a long time.”
Meanwhile, it was revealed earlier this week that the dress worn by Diana on her wedding day has gone on display at her former Kensington Palace home.
Harry and his brother Prince William have loaned the dress to the ‘Royal Style in the Making’ exhibition, which opened this week, less than a month before Diana would have turned 60 on July 1.
Described by exhibition organisers as being “among the most famous in bridal history”, the iconic gown was designed by husband and wife David and Elizabeth Emanuel for Diana’s wedding to the Prince Charles, which took place almost 40 years ago in July 1981.

Prince William criticised for meeting former prime minister and Scottish anti-independence campaigner Gordon Brown

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has been accused of “poor judgement” for meeting former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
Former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond has urged the Duke of Cambridge and the rest of the royal family to follow Queen Elizabeth’s “very wise” example of keeping out politics, and the Scottish independence debate in particular. It follows the the 38-year-old heir meeting the former Labour prime minister, who is an anti-independence campaigner, on his tour of Scotland last week.
Speaking in a video message, Alex said: “Whatever Prince William thought he was doing by agreeing to a confab with Gordon Brown just as he set up his latest campaign for the union, we should have no hesitation in seeing from that meeting, unionist preparation for attempting to persuade a constitutional monarchy to intervene in a constitutional debate which should be left to the people.”
Before stating that the royals should “keep the monarchy over and above politics”, after William met Gordon, who has just relaunched think tank ‘Our Scottish Future’, which is a pro union campaign movement.
Alex added: “It would be very wise for the royal family to follow what has been the Queen’s example over her long reign, to keep the monarchy over and above politics, and it would be foolish to have a situation in which it can be said that the monarchy is involved in the Scottish Constitutional debate.”
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace however denied that their was any agenda to the meeting, saying that during his time in the country William met with a wide-range of people with a number of differing views.
They said: “During his time in Scotland Prince William has spoken to a broad range of people from different communities, including politicians from across the political spectrum.”
On his trip north of the border, for which he was accompanied by wife the Duchess of Cambridge, William also met First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Alistair Carmichael, Liberal Democrat MP for Orkney and Shetland.

Queen Elizabeth advertises for Collections Project Manager to oversee Buckingham Palace renovation

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth is seeking a live-in Collections Project Manager as Buckingham Palace gears up for months of major building work.
The queen’s main residence is set for a summer of renovation, with the vast majority of palace’s electrics, plumbing and heating said not to have been updated since the 1950s. And one of the roles which needs filling is a project manager to ensure the palaces expensive art and artefacts remain in tact while the works take place.
The official Royal UK website offers a detailed job description of the role which reads: “Joining a team of specialists you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the significant collections of art within Buckingham Palace are protected and cared for alongside ongoing reservicing works.
“You’ll oversee various complex projects, from the safe removal of works of art and protection of items in-situ in areas where Reservicing Programme works are taking place, to subsequently managing their safe return and display after works have finished.”
Another role advertised is for that of a painter and decorator for tasks ranging from “minor repairs” to entire “room renovations” while working in “uniquely historic environments”.

“Working in such uniquely historic environments means you’ll have the opportunity to expand your existing skills. You’ll regularly handle specialist wall coverings, sign-writing and use specialist paint finishes, such as marbling and gilding.
“Playing an essential part within the Property team, you’ll also help solve day-to-day maintenance issues that arise, and assist with preparation work for State, ceremonial or official functions.
In all that you do, you’ll aim for the highest standards. After all, the results of your hard work will be seen by thousands.”

Bones found near Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s home

OHMYGOSSIP — Human remains have been discovered near the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s home.
The bones, thought to be from a Native American and dating back hundreds of years, were discovered by workmen.
The exact address where they were found hasn’t been made public, but the area is believed to be less than 400 yards from the Montecito mansion where Prin e Harry and Duchess Meghan live with their two-year-old son Archie. The police have called in a forensic anthropologist to determine the exact age of the skeletal remains.
Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Raquel Zick said if the bones turn out not to date back centuries then they will investigate.
According to The Sun newspaper, she said: “We will have to get out our magnifying glasses.”
Revealing how the discovery happened, a source said
: “Work stopped right away on the property and the cops were called in. It’s quite a lot of drama for a place like Montecito.
Harry, 36, and 39-year-old Meghan – previously known as Meghan Markle – moved to California in 2020, after deciding to step back as senior members of the British royal family.
A statement released through their spokesperson at the time read: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex moved into their family home in July of this year. They have settled into the quiet privacy of their community since their arrival and hope that this will be respected for their neighbours, as well as for them as a family.”
Having left the UK behind they originally spent time in a remote part of Vancouver Island, Canada, before heading to Los Angeles. After moving from Canada to the US they temporarily stayed at the Beverly Hills home of Meghan’s friend Tyler Perry while they were house-hunting.

Duke of Sussex’s friend creates four step plan for managing anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry’s friend Lady Zoe Warren has created a four step toolkit for managing anxiety.
Yoga teacher Lady Zoe – Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding, Harry’s brother Prince William and sister-in-law Catherine – has released an online video which includes her own tips on how to alleviate anxiety, a condition that Harry has admitted to suffering from.
The 37-year-old fitness expert – who is the daughter of the 14th Earl of Galloway and wife of Jake Warren, the godson of Harry’s late mother Princess Diana –
said: “Anxiety is something we can all sympathise with. I have four steps when anxiety arises. Step one is to acknowledge the anxiety. The second is to accept it. The third is to support yourself: bring a hand onto the knot in your belly. And use a mantra such as, ‘You’re going to be OK.'”
Harry recently spoke how he suffered from “panic attacks and severe anxiety” on royal duties, which he admitted were a “nightmare time” for him as he was always in “fight or flight mode” and “freaking out”. Harry’s issues came from the trauma he internalised from his mother Princess Diana’s death in 1997.
Speaking to Oprah Winfrey on Apple TV+ docuseries ‘The Me You Can’t See’, the 36-year-old royal said: “Every single time I jump in the car and every single time I see a camera. I would just start sweating. I would feel as though my body temperature was two or three degrees warmer than everybody else in the room. I would convince myself that my face was bright red and that everybody could see how I was feeling, but no one would know why. So it was embarrassing. You get in your head about it…
“Everywhere I go every single time I meet someone it’s almost like I’m being drained of this energy picking up on other people’s emotions, finally I would bump into somebody who was sweating more than me and I would stop be able to speak to them and everything would calm down and then I could move on again.”
Harry realised he needed to have therapy to “fix” himself after he met and fell in love with Meghan, Duchess of Sussex – who was known as Meghan Markle when she starred in ‘Suits’ – or he would “lose this woman who I could see spending the rest of my life with”.
Harry – who married Meghan in May 2018 – said: “You’ve sometimes got to go back and to deal with really uncomfortable situations and to be able to process it in order to be able to heal. For me, therapy has equipped me to be able to take on anything. That’s why I’m here now. That’s why my wife is here now.”

Prince Charles confused about ska music during Coventry visit

OHMYGOSSIP — The Prince of Wales got confused about what ska music was during his trip to Coventry as part of celebrations marking its status as the 2021 UK City of Culture.
Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, made the trip to the city on Tuesday (25.05.21), and the royal pair visited the cathedral, an art gallery and an old hospital and were also given a tour of the 2-Tone: Lives and Legacies music exhibition at Herbert Art Gallery.
However, Charles got ska mixed up with soul when he met Pauline Black, who is the lead singer of The Selecter.
The heir to the throne asked: “Is it soul music?”
To which Pauline replied: “No, it’s not soul music – it’s something called ska music.”
Coventry is the birthplace of ska music – a fusion of traditional Jamaican ska music with elements of punk rock and new wave which originated in the UK in the late 1970s – with scene pioneers The Specials heralding from the Midlands city as well as Pauline’s group, famous for their hit ‘On My Radio’.
The 72-year-old prince and his 73-year-old wife also attended a service at Coventry Cathedral where the bishop informed Charles that it was 59 years ago that his mother Queen Elizabeth had been in the city for the cathedral’s consecration, after it was rebuilt following the original building being bombed during World War II.
Speaking during the service, the bishop said: “The consecration of Coventry Cathedral, 59 years ago, took place in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen, and it is a deep joy, Your Royal Highnesses, that you have graced us today with your presence.
“Throughout decades of public service, His Royal Highness has been dedicated to the nurturing of understanding between peoples, to building peace in the world and to the restoration of hope among those who might despair. Time does not allow me to pay proper tribute to those efforts to improve community relationships, deepen inter-faith understanding and raise the aspirations and life chances of young people.”
It was Charles’ first public outing since his son Prince Harry’s appearance in the Apple TV+ docuseries ‘The Me You Can’t See’ in which he accused the royal family of “total neglect”.
The 36-year-old royal claimed he was desperate for help and support from his relatives after his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, “struggled” with her new role in the British royal family but the couple were met with “total silence” from his dad and everyone else.
He said: “I thought my family would help, but every single ask, request, warning, whatever, it is just got met with total silence, total neglect.”

Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate applies to cut down 111 trees

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth’s Sandringham Estate has put in application to cut down 111 trees, despite Prince Chares having asked the public to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee” on Monday (24.05.21).
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the application has been lodged with King’s Lynn Borough Council to fell the trees, in order to make more space to expand the visitor’s car park from 416 to 600 places.
Norway Maples, Mature Sycamores, Beech and Scots pine, some of which are apparently classed as “category A” and more than 100 years old, are all said to be at risk.
A spokeswoman for Sandringham said: “Within the redevelopment of the car park, the Estate will plant native trees and introduce wildflower planting, as part of its commitment to improving biodiversity.”
Earlier this week, the Prince of Wales planted an oak tree at Windsor Castle in honour of The Queen’s Green Canopy.
In an initiative to celebrate his mother’s 70-year reign, the ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’ initiative was been launched with the aim of encouraging the nation to plant trees from October 2021 until the end of 2022.
As well as honouring the Platinum Jubilee, The Queen’s Green Canopy highlights 70 ancient woodlands and trees across the UK, and the royals have partnered with the Royal Horticultural Society’s Chelsea Flower Show and the Cool Earth charity on the scheme.
A pilot training programme in planting and managing trees for young people out of work has also been announced.
In newly-released images that were taken in March, Charles and his mother – who has planted more than 1,500 trees during her reign – were photographed as the first in line to the throne planted the first Verdun Oak at the queen’s royal residence.
And the 72-year-old heir to the throne and environmentalist described planting a tree as a “statement of hope and faith in the future”.
In a video message, he said: “It is absolutely vital that more of the right species of trees are planted, in the right places, and that more woodlands, avenues, hedgerows and hedgerow trees and urban planting schemes are established, whilst ensuring that we also protect and sustain what we already have.”

Queen Elizabeth has never stayed at Frogmore Cottage

OHMYGOSSIP — Frogmore Cottage is the only royal residence Queen Elizabeth has never stayed at.
According to HELLO!, the British monarch has never actually spent the night at Frogmore which is located on the grounds of Home Park in Windsor, England.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were given the property as a wedding gift from the queen to be their home, and the couple spent at least £2.4 million ($3.05 million) of taxpayers’ money renovating the property before leaving their positions as senior members of the British royal family and relocating to California. That sum has now been paid back by Prince Harry.
The Duke and Duchess of York’s daughter, Princess Eugenie – who is Harry’s cousin – currently lives there with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August, who was born in February 2021.
However, it has been stated by royal biographer Omid Scobie that the house is only “on loan” to the couple.
Posting on Twitter, he said: “Frogmore Cottage continues to be the couple’s residence in the UK and they are delighted to be able to open up their home to Princess Eugenie and Jack as they start their own family. They have not moved out and will still stay at the house during UK visits.”
The house – which gets its name from the abundance of frogs that inhabit the marshland around the grounds – has hosted many royal events over the years and is also home to the royal Mausoleum where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert are buried.
As well as hosting Harry and Duchess Meghan’s wedding reception it was also the venue where the reception of the Princess Royal’s son, Peter Phillips and his wife Autumn Kelly, took place.
Frogmore House will be re-opened to the public in 2022 as a visitor attraction, although the inside of property will not be accessible due to the precious art and antiques within.

Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey to team up again for a third time

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry is to film his third programme with Oprah Winfrey.
The Duke of Sussex and Oprah will team up again to co-host what’s being called a “town hall discussion”. The episode will be titled ‘The Me You Can’t See: A Path Forward’ and will air on Apple+ on Friday (28/5/21).
A description of the show on Harry and his wife Duchess Meghan’s Archewell website reads: “Today, co-creators and executive producers Prince Harry and Oprah Winfrey, along with Apple TV+, have announced that they will be hosting a town hall, The Me You Can’t See: A Path Forward, to continue that global conversation this Friday, May 28.”
Harry and Duchess Meghan’s first interview with Oprah aired in March, before the 36-year-old royal spoke to the chat show host again in an interview which aired last week, where Harry made a number of revelations. These included alleging his father the Prince of Wales failed to protect him from “suffering” as a child, turning to drink and drugs following the death of his mother the Princess of Wales, and having psychotherapy to relieve trauma and PTSD.
Earlier this week, Paul Burrell said he thinks Princess Diana would be “heartbroken” over Harry’s recent public confessions and outbursts.
The former butler thinks his late boss – who tragically died in a car accident in 1997 – would “disapprove” of her son’s public criticism of the British royal family in interviews with Oprah Winfrey and urged him to live a quiet, private life with his pregnant wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and their two-year-old son Archie.
Speaking to Closer magazine, Paul said: “What he’s doing now is going to make everything so much worse for him.
“Diana would be heartbroken it’s come to this.
“Not only would she be devastated that Harry is cut off from his family, but she’d disapprove of him tearing down the royals.
“She’d want him to stop airing his dirty laundry and to live a quiet, private life, focused on his children.”

Princess Diana and the Duchess of York almost caused a riot by gate-crashing Duke of York’s stag party dressed as policewomen

OHMYGOSSIP — The Princess of Wales and the Duchess of York Ferguson caused “a bit of a riot” by dressing as policewomen and gate-crashing the Duke of York’s stag party.
The pair and a group of friends apparently decided to sneak into Prince Andrew’s pre-wedding bash at swanky Mayfair nightclub Annabelles, but having not tipped anyone off about their planned antics, were then picked up by the actual police who had no idea what was going on.
Speaking in Channel 5 documentary ‘When Fergie Met the Monarchy’ Royal expert Tom Quinn said the late Princess Diana and Sarah Ferguson were, “lying on the floor, bottles of champagne being fired in every direction. It was a bit of a riot. Before anyone knew it, the real police arrived and bundled these girls into the back of a police van, at which point Diana apparently pipes up and says, ‘Does anyone have any smoky bacon crisps?’”
But following Diana’s unusual request the police swiftly worked out what was going on.
Tom added: “Suddenly, it dawns on these coppers, who are hauling these girls off to some West End Central police station, that they’ve got the Princess of Wales in the back.”
Sarah Ferguson and the Queen’s second son Prince Andrew were married for 10 years from 1986 to 1996. They have two daughter’s together Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. Andrew and Sarah recently became grandparents following the birth of Eugenie’s son August, with husband Jack Brooksbank. They soon will again too after Beatrice announced she is pregnant with her first child, with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, who they are expecting in the Autumn. Eugenie and Jack currently reside at Frogmore Cottage in the grounds of Windsor Castle, which was left vacant when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who’d been given the residence as a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth decided to relocate to Los Angeles.

Scottish pub criticised over essential maintenance excuse for William and Catherine visit

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s trip to a Scottish pub has been criticised by local residents after the venue blamed “maintenance” for it being closed to the public that afternoon.
The Cold Town House in Edinburgh cancelled bookings by sending customers an email citing, “essential maintenance work” and saying it was due to “circumstances outside of their control”.
Yet, in reality the 38-year-old duke was paying a visit the pub with wife duchess Catherine 39, along with some local key workers to watch the Scottish Cup final, which took place between St Johnstone and Hibernian on Saturday (22.05.21).
When a disappointed customers found out the pub was being economical with the truth, they didn’t take it well.
A source told the Daily Record newspaper: “We were lied to. They could have used another excuse rather than ‘essential maintenance,’ they didn’t even have to say the prince was coming.”
In a statement of apology, the pub said the closure to the general public was in the interests of “national security”.
And in an attempt to make amends, the Cold Town House is thought to be offering customers who had their bookings cancelled, free pizza and cocktails.
The pub’s business development director Louise MacLean said: “We’re really sorry to anyone who feels inconvenienced by the temporary closure of Cold Town House on Saturday 22nd May. We never want to let our customers down and will always do whatever we can to avoid this ever happening. This was an extremely rare and proud opportunity for us to welcome The Duke of Cambridge to Cold Town House as part of his wider visit to Scotland, as well as being a great chance to showcase some of the best Scottish hospitality during one of the most challenging times for the industry.”
The visit was part of William and Catherine’s tour of Scotland which came to an end on Thursday (27.05.21).
During their trip the royal couple visited the town of St. Andrews, where they first met at university 20 years ago.
