Princess Charlotte says first word in public

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Charlotte was heard saying her first word in public on Thursday (29.09.16) at a garden party in Canada.
The 16-month-old royal was overheard yelling “pop” as she frantically chased a balloon around in the grounds of British Columbia’s Government House yesterday afternoon.
According to ITV News, the toddler also referred to her father the Duke of Cambridge as “da da” as he picked her up for a cuddle following her exciting lunch in the garden.
Charlotte’s brother Prince George, three, was also keen to get involved in the action and ran across after he saw his younger sibling playing around with the colourful balloons.
As he reached out his hand to his mother the Duchess of Cambridge, he said: “But I want one, can I have one?”
The duke taught his son how to blow bubbles, while Charlotte played with a rattle before petting a big dog.
The youngster’s visit to the grounds was their first official engagement since they touched down in Canada last week.
The event was put on for the children of Canadian military families who have at least one parent deployed overseas.
The royal family – who are in Canada for nine days – then spent the rest of their day alone privately together.
William and Catherine – who got married in 2011 – have been busy travelling across Canada for engagements in Vancouver, Kelowna and the Yukon.
George and Charlotte have stayed in Victoria with their nanny Maria Borrallo but have certainly been entertained.
Ms Borrallo took the youngsters to Beacon Hill Children’s Farm on Wednesday (28.09.16) while their parents spent a romantic child-free night under the stars in Yukon.

Princess Beatrice did charity swim

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Beatrice took part in a swim in Sicily on Tuesday (27.09.16).
The 28-year-old royal – the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip – joined tycoon Sir Richard Branson for a 3.3km race in Italy to raise cash for the youth charity, Big Change.
The strawberry-blonde beauty slipped into a wetsuit as she clutched hold of her chest prior to the race in a bid to keep warm.
Just before the claxon rang, the princess slipped her snorkel gear over her face so that she can pick up speed under water.
Once she completed the swim, Beatrice hopped out of the water and celebrated her achievement by throwing her arms around her friend.
The princess has had a busy few weeks as just last weekend she went on a blind date following her split from Dave Clark.
However, things didn’t go according to plan with her mystery suitor, as he had no idea he was being set up with a member of the British royal family and was left sweating and shaking with nerves throughout their meeting.
A source said recently: “Bea went on a date with a man who arrived with flowers but was left pouring with sweat when he realised who his date was. Beatrice found it very funny – it was great to break the ice, great practice and he was a great guy, she said.”
It was previously claimed Beatrice and Dave had gone their separate ways because he didn’t want to get married.
A source explained: “After ten years together, Beatrice and Dave had to wonder why they were not married.
“They talked it through and decided to take time apart to reflect on the future. They remain friends and the decision to break up was mutual.”
And after the duo agreed that marriage was not a likely prospect in the near future, they decided to terminate their relationship altogether.
The source shared: “Beatrice has become a lot more assertive and confident recently. She gave Dave an ultimatum, but it backfired because he did not ask her to marry him. They both agreed that with no marriage in their future, it was time to go separate ways.”

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's tour plan

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s tour of Canada took six months to plan.
The royal couple arrived in the country last week with their children Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 16 months, and, although the family are being whisked from place-to-place with ease, the Canadian government spent half a year making arrangements with the governments of Yukon and British Columbia, as well as Kensington Palace.
An official spokesperson told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “The program you see being rolled out is a collaborative effort between all four groups.”
And, although the pair have a jam-packed schedule to keep them busy, officials are more concerned about the tour running “smoothly, on time, safely, and successfully.”
However, all that is made easier by the fact the royal family have three private secretaries, four press officers, one tour secretary, one operations manager, one PA and one nanny.
They’ve also got a team of Scotland Yard security guards who will accompany them on their tour, while the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will also be on hand to help.
The duke and duchess have been busy travelling between cities in the country, while they children have been staying in Victoria, British Columbia, with their experienced nanny.
Their tour will come to an end on October 1.

Princess Charlotte to do first official engagement in Canada

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Charlotte will carry out her first official engagement while on tour in Canada on Thursday (29.09.16).
The 16-month-old royal and her brother Prince George, three, haven’t been seen in public since they touched down in Victoria, British Columbia, last week but that’s set to change today when they attend a garden party.
The little ones will join their parents Duchess Catherine and Prince William, both 34, as they tuck into delicious snacks put on for the children of Canadian military families in the grounds of British Columbia’s Government House.
Almost all of the children attending the garden party have at least one parent deployed in the forces overseas.
After the quiet bash, the duke and duchess will spend the rest of the day with their children privately.

Prince Harry's house is pink

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has painted the walls of his house pink.
The 32-year-old royal reportedly asked decorators to brighten up the interiors of his abode in Clarence House, London, by spritzing the walls with blush coloured paint.
Joa Studholme, a colour consultant for paintmaker Farrow & Ball, told the MailOnline: “How can I say this very discreetly it was a young Prince, the youngest. Not William and not George. Very strong colours, very contemporary. He had lots of greys and lovely pinks. You’d be surprised actually.”
However, the flame-haired hunk’s decision to paint his walls pink didn’t come as a shock to Mrs Studholme – who charges £250 an hour – as she believes the feminine colour is “absolutely the big thing in decorating at the moment.”
She explained: “It’s all about everything being pink. I can tell you exactly why it’s so popular. Pink is popular because I think we led these very, very busy lives, very flat-screened… we have iPads. Everything is flat, hard, pink just just gives you a big hug. These colours are just are so tender and blushy, you go home and sort of sink into them and they go fanatically well with copper and… copper is obviously very, very popular. I just think it’s the whole thing about too much technology and we are going back to our routes with pink.”

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spend romantic night away from kids

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent a romantic night away from their children in the Canadian wilderness on Wednesday (28.09.16).
The royal couple left their kids George, three, and 16-month-old Charlotte in the capable hands of their nanny in Victoria – for the first time – while they enjoyed an evening dancing to music, relaxing in jacuzzis and keeping warm with a riverside fire in Whitehorse, Yukon.
The loved-up pair – who got married in 2011 – stayed at the Coast High Country Inn in Yukon for just £95 and, along with their evening festivities, were likely to have seen the Northern Lights in the breathtaking Canadian skies, according to the Daily Telegraph newspaper.
But George and Charlotte – who have joined their parents on their nine-day trip of Canada – didn’t miss out as they were taken to the Beacon’s Hill Children’s Farm to visit goats, pigs, sheep, chickens and llamas during the day.
The Victoria tourist board tweeted: “Prince George & Princess Charlotte met the cute critters @bhchildrensfarm yesterday!”
The royal family have had a busy few days in Canada and just yesterday the 34-year-old prince was eager to show off his dance moves as he attended a lively street party in Whitehorse, before he and his beautiful wife were whisked away to the forest for their solo evening.
Carly Fredrickson, 22 – who performed at the street party – said: “They [the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge] were really impressed and they made jokes about how he’s a really good dancer and he wanted to get up and dance with us. He said he has some moves and she agreed. He said he did want to get up and dance while we were performing.”
The duke and duchess will wrap up their tour of Canada on October 1.

Prince Harry to attend WellChild awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry is to attend the WellChild Awards.
The 30-year-old royal – who is patron of WellChild will be among the guests at the Dorchester Hotel in London on October 3, who will gather to recognise children battling serious illness and medical professionals who help them in their fights.
Awards include inspirational child, inspirational young person, most caring young person, nurse award, professional award and a special recognition accolade, and judges have found it tough to choose a winner from the hundreds of nominations they’ve received from across the country.
WellChild’s director of programmes Linda Partridge said: “All the panel members are moved by the bravery of the children, the stories of selfless care and support and the dedication of the doctors, nurses, teachers, brothers and sisters who make a great difference to the lives of seriously-ill children and young people.
“The awards are a perfect demonstration of WellChild’s commitment to helping as many seriously-ill children and their families as we can and embody our aim of raising awareness of their needs.”
Harry admitted at last year’s event that he finds the awards “humbling”.
Speaking as he gave the special recognition award to Jane Concannon, who works as a Hospital Play Specialist at Manchester Children’s Hospital, he said: “I am humbled by the people and children I meet. You guys are awesome. The stories we have heard tonight are moving beyond words. They remind us of the utter insignificance of our everyday worries.
“Yet, one of the things that always stands out is the positivity shown by those in the most difficult and testing circumstances. It is heartening to hear so many stories of happiness and hope, even through the dark times.”

No spicy food for Charles and Camilla

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla won’t eat garlic or spicy food because they worry about getting bad breath.
Though the 69-year-old duchess’ son Tom Parker Bowles is a respected food critic, he admits he won’t cook for the pair because his dishes are not bland enough for their tastes.
He said: “They have very, very good cooks, proper chefs, so why would they want me to do it?
“I like chillies and I like onions and garlic and as she’s got older garlic and chilies are especially a no-no and you can’t go stinking of garlic when you are shaking a few hands the next day.
“She’s amazing at scrambled eggs and usually I leave her to do, whatever it is, roast chicken or scrambled eggs, I leave her to do it.
“I usually wouldn’t cook for him (Prince Charles) most my food has chilli in it or endless spices and no, no I wouldn’t do it.”
And Tom – whose father is Camilla’s ex-husband Andrew Parker Bowles – has fond memories of tucking into his mother’s cooking when he was younger.
Speaking at the Henley Literary Festival, he said: “My mother’s roast chicken [was my favourite], I dined on that literally and figuratively for many years.
“My mother was a good cook, very much, children in London, they eat Chinese, they eat Indian, they eat Thai… but when we grew up we ate pretty much British food, my father loved gardening, my mother was a good cook so we knew the seasons before the seasons.”
But the 41-year-old writer isn’t a fan of his mother’s beloved Aga when it comes to cooking food.
He said: “We had an Aga, there is a huge debate about Agas, I don’t like Agas, I love them in a room but they are useless.
“I could be lynched for saying that, [mum] loves an Aga, she can only cook on an Aga.
“Without a doubt every year, the Aga always goes out at Christmas, I don’t know how, but it goes out every year… It would go out without fail suddenly, the mercury, it was gone again. You’d come down in the morning finding my aunt, my mother, cooking a turkey which is perhaps a little bit big for the top right [oven].”

Prince William can dance

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William thinks he is a “really good” dancer.
The 34-year-old prince and his wife Duchess Catherine watched a group of young people perform a street dance at a cultural centre in Whitehorse, Canada, and he admitted afterwards he had wanted to join in and show off his “moves”.
Performer Carly Fredrickson, 22, said: “They were really impressed and they made jokes about how he’s a really good dancer and he wanted to get up and dance with us.
“He said he has some moves and she agreed.
“He said he did want to get up and dance while we were performing.”
The royal couple got to see a variety of different performances at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre as the facility staged a show called ‘Land of Gold – A Yukon Cultural Celebration’.
Travel Yukon, who organised the event, described the event as: “This presentation highlights the diversity and depth of Yukon’s cultural scene.
“Tune in to see dancers, drummers and musicians from a variety of genres and backgrounds share their songs and stories.”
Earlier in the day, William and Catherine, 34, tucked into a “phallic” clam known as a geoduck, which boasts a long neck that some diners find off-putting, when they met with young chefs at a food festival.
William admitted: “Presentationally they are quite challenging.”
But chef Ned Bell explained: “They are getting more popular all the time.
“It is an extraordinary species. You can eat the body, but you can also eat the neck raw, which is what they ate.
“It is absolutely phallic, but at end of the day it is a clam.
“Here on the west coast we have some of the best wild, well-managed shellfish in the world.”
Another busy day on their tour of Canada also saw the pair – whose children Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 16 months, remained behind at their temporary home in Victoria – join the University of British Columbia Okanagan’s 10th anniversary celebrations.
However, they were snubbed by Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, Okanagan Nation Alliance Chairman and Spokesperson, who pulled out of the event at short notice, a day after refusing to attend a reconciliation ceremony with the British couple in protest at the plight of the First Nations people.
Instead, they were joined at UBC by Chief John Kruger of the Penticton Indian Band.
He urged the couple to speak out for reconciliation for Aboriginal Peoples.
He said: “True reconciliation involves the honour of the Crown, the federal government, provincial government and the indigenous people of this land.”

Pippa Middleton hacking suspect bailed

OHMYGOSSIP — A man arrested on suspicion of hacking Pippa Middleton’s iCloud account has been bailed.
Website designer Nathan Wyatt, 35, swore at waiting photographers when he returned to his home in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire late on Sunday (25.09.16) after being quizzed over the theft of around 3,000 photographs belonging to the party planner – who is the younger sister of Duchess Catherine – which were then offered for sale for £50,000.
Local residents had previously said they were shocked when police descended on the home Wyatt shares with fiancee Kelly Howell and their children in connection with the theft.
Neighbour Patricia Kightly said: “They are a nice, respectable couple. I have only only heard them squabbling twice in the years they’ve been here.
“They’ve even kept an eye on my house while I’ve been away for me so they are people I trust.”
Another surprised local resident said: “He stays at home and she works.
“They all turned up at 10pm on Saturday night. They were taking a lot of pictures in the house but also outside.
“The cops were checking in the boot of his car and looking for paperwork.
“He is friendly and always says good morning – police haven’t told us what it is about.”
The hacked images – which were offered for sale by someone demanding £50,000 within 48 hours – included pictures of Pippa’s nephew Prince George and niece Princess Charlotte, a photo of the party planner at a wedding dress fitting and a nude shot of her fiance James Matthews.

Cressida Bonas couldn't take scrutiny of royal relationship

OHMYGOSSIP — Cressida Bonas split from Prince Harry because she “couldn’t take” the public scrutiny.
The 27-year-old actress – who dated the popular prince, 32, for two years until they split in 2014 – has never spoken about the reasons why they went their separate ways at the height of speculation they would get engaged, but a family friend has claimed she grew tired of constant criticisms of everything she did.
Ingrid Seward, who has written several books about the royal family, said: “A friend of mine’s daughter went out with Prince Harry, Cressie, the most gorgeous girl, she just said it was awful because every time she walked down the street she could hear people criticising her.
“They would whip out their phones and take photos of her. They’d say, ‘Oh look at her hair’, ‘Oh look at her clothes, look at her boots, she hasn’t got her laces done up’.
“I mean this is just a normal, pretty girl and she just couldn’t take it. She just thought, Why are they getting at me?’.”
Ingrid also discussed her belief that social media has left Duchess Catherine “terrified” of saying anything controversial, which has left people thinking she is boring.
Speaking to Dickie Arbiter, Queen Elizabeth’s former spokesperson, at the Henley Literary Festival, she said: “With Twitter and social media I think it’s such a pressure to keep on form for William and Kate
“You think she needs a little more personality but I think she’s terrified, you don’t think she’s terrified because she’s been around for nine years but I think she is scared of saying anything that can be contrived as being remotely controversial.
“I think it’s actually evil in a way.”
Dickie seemingly agreed and said: “Social media is a very useful tool but it is a bit of an enemy if you are somebody in the spotlight.
“Anything you do can be instantaneously reported on and picked up globally. You have to mind your ps and qs and what you do.
“Any movement can be misconstrued, if you sneeze you’ve got flu, if you cough you have bronchitis.”

Prince Charles' assassination fear

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles feared he’d be assassinated at Princess Diana’s funeral, it has been claimed.
The 67-year-old royal was reportedly “extremely nervous” as he walked through the funeral procession with sons Princes William and Harry a week after his ex-wife was killed in a Paris car crash, because the “nasty” onlookers had made it clear they felt he was to blame for the breakdown of his marriage to the tragic princess.
Speaking at Henley Literary Festival, royal biographer Ingrid Seward said: “Prince Charles was extremely nervous because he was public enemy number one.
“He was very fatalistic. He thought, if someone takes a gun out and shoots me, that’s it.
“The streets of London were very quiet. You could hear a pin drop. You could hear everything the crowd was saying. They were saying, ‘Look at him, look at him.’ They were being quite nasty.
“The whole way round he could hear this abuse and he didn’t think he would make it the whole way round.”
After Diana’s death, Queen Elizabeth faced criticism for remaining at her Scottish estate Balmoral for too long, and her former press officer, Dickie Arbiter, admitted she was feeling “anxious” about returning to speak with mourners who had gathered outside Buckingham Palace.
He said: “There had been a lot of criticism against the Queen by the media and the fact she remained at Balmoral. She wasn’t nervous but she was a little bit anxious as to what sort of reception she would receive.”
And Dickie slammed Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, for the speech he gave at her funeral.
He said: “She had a very bad relationship with her brother. When things were getting on top of her she pleaded with her brother for one of the cottages on his estate and he said “no” on the basis that there would be too many media hanging around.
“So relationship between brother and sister at the time of her death was so far apart that you could have driven a fleet of buses through the gap.
“And yet we had this young man stand up at Westminster Abbey talking about blood relatives and his adoring sister and it was a bit hypocritical.”

Prince George's transport obsession

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince George is “obsessed” with transport.
The three-year-old royal missed out on a visit to the Kitsilano Coast Guard Station with his parents Prince William and Duchess Catherine on the second day of their tour of Canada as he and his sister Princess Charlotte, 16 months, remained at their temporary home in Victoria, and his father felt the youngster would have been particularly taken by the fire service’s new truck.
William told Sophie Trudeau, the wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: “My son George would be obsessed with that.”
Though George and Charlotte missed out on the visit, they were sent gifts by the Vancouver Police Department, with the prince getting a toy police car and his sister a fluffy police dog named Spike.
Delighted William said: “They’ll be playing with these all afternoon.”
When the family arrived in Canada after a nine-hour flight, Catherine insisted the kids had been too excited to find the long journey stressful.
She said: “[The children were] super excited about the fact they were going to sleep on a plane.”
As well as his passion for transport, George also enjoys cooking with his mother – but always makes a mess.
On an official visit to charity Youthscape last month, the duchess watched teenagers made chocolate rice crispy cakes and asked: “So, what are you making? This smells seriously good. What are you putting in? Is this just chocolate? Golden syrup? Good, good.”
She then told them: “When I try to do this with George at home, chocolate and the golden syrup goes everywhere. He makes so much mess. It’s chaos.”
The couple later visited with CHUMS, a bereavement counseling service for young adults in Bedfordshire, and Keech hospice, where she chatted with a fellow parent about George’s favourite foods.
Suzanne Dow, who has a child suffering from a life-threatening illness, revealed: “She said, ‘George likes his spaghetti as well, he’d love to get messy.”

Prince William praises tribe's conservation effort

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has praised a First Nation tribe for helping save a rainforest.
The prince and his wife Duchess Catherine visited the remote village of Bella Bella in Canada on Monday (26.09.16) and he passed on a thank you message for his grandmother Queen Elizabeth for their part of The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy network, which has helped saved the important conservation area.
He said: “Her Majesty has asked me to convey her sincere thanks to the Government of British Columbia, and the Federal Government of Canada, for nominating your innovative Ecosystem-Based Management programme in Great Bear to be part of The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy network.
“This is a substantial dedication which will highlight a more collaborative approach to sustainable forest conservation. Other Commonwealth countries will benefit from sharing the knowledge and expertise you have gained by working together with First Nations, industry and environmental organisations to establish this unique forestry management programme.”
The Queen’s Commonwealth Canopy was launched in Malta last year and urged the 53 Commonwealth nations to contribute areas of indigenous forest, to be preserved in the monarch’s name, and substantial progress has already been made, with all the countries expected to have joined by 2018.
William continued: “I am pleased to say that more than 15 countries have already dedicated forestry projects or are planting new forests, with another 10 finalising their submissions.
“The Commonwealth has at its heart always been about the values that bind its people.
“This project, focusing on our shared natural heritage, is no different.
“The establishment of the Canopy is a loud and unambiguous statement that the citizens of all Commonwealth countries believe that nature is fundamental to the health of our societies.
“When we protect our rivers, oceans, atmospheres, or like today, our forests, we are telling our children that their future prosperity cannot be disconnected from the health of the natural world…
“I have no doubt that other Commonwealth nations will be inspired by what you have achieved here.”
The royal couple had received a traditional greeting, while the floors had been blessed ahead of their arrival as a sign of respect.
William and Catherine – whose children Prince George, three, and Princess Charlotte, 16 months, remained at their temporary residence in Victoria with their nanny – had been due to take an aerial tour of The Great Bear Rainforest, but it was called off due to bad weather.

Queen Elizabeth to buy horse treadmill

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth is to splash out £130,000 on a treadmill for her horses.
The 90-year-old royal is a hugely successful racehorse owner, and will be able to get her animals in even better condition for their events with the aid of the UK’s largest automatic horse-walker, which is set to be installed at her Sandringham stud farm, the Mail on Sunday newspaper reports.
The 330ft-long oval-shaped piece of equipment will allow just one member of staff to exercise up to 18 horses at the same time, with barriers hanging from an overhead rail moving at a selected speed, so the equines have to keep pace.
The farm currently has an existing walker but it only has compartments to accommodate six horses.
While some animal-lovers thinks the ‘treadmills’ are “invaluable” for helping horses warm up or cool down after rides, as well as helping injured creatures exercise safely, others have criticised them for being “tedious” and “boring”.
Dene Stansall, Animal Aid horse consultant and equine business lecturer, said: “The use of these automatic horse-trainers is not in the interests of the horse.
“It’s like being put on a human treadmill in a gym, but we can control that and stop when we want. The horse has no control.”
However, Jessica Stark, the spokesperson for the World Horse Welfare charity – which has the queen’s daughter Princess Anne as president – insisted the devices are not cruel.
She said: “We use walkers at all four of our centres. We do not consider them cruel.
“They help control a horse’s weight and build its condition.'”
The details of the new unit were revealed in a planning application lodged with King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Council.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said of the plans: “The queen is aware of the proposal for a new horse-walker at the Royal Studs in Norfolk.”
Currently, the world’s biggest oval horse-walker can accommodate 20 horses and has a circumference of 430ft. It is based in Vienna, at the Spanish Riding School.

Pippa Middleton hacker arrested

OHMYGOSSIP — A “respectable” stay-at-home father has been arrested in connection with the hacking of Pippa Middleton’s iCloud account.
The 33-year-old author – who is the younger sister of Duchess Catherine – had 3,000 of her digital photos stolen and reportedly offered for sale, and police are now quizzing 35-year-old Nathan Wyatt, much to the surprise of his neighbours in Northamptonshire, East Midlands.
Neighbour Patricia Kightly said of Nathan and his fiancée Kelly Howell: “They are a nice, respectable couple. I have only only heard them squabbling twice in the years they’ve been here.
“They’ve even kept an eye on my house while I’ve been away for me so they are people I trust.”
Another surprised local resident told The Sun newspaper: “He stays at home and she works.
“They all turned up at 10pm on Saturday night. They were taking a lot of pictures in the house but also outside.
“The cops were checking in the boot of his car and looking for paperwork.
“He is friendly and always says good morning – police haven’t told us what it is about.”
Police have confirmed they have made an arrest in connection with the case.
They said: “Detectives investigating the hacking of a personal iCloud account have made an arrest.
“On Saturday evening, a 35-year-old man was arrested at an address in Northamptonshire.
“He was arrested on suspicion of a Computer Misuse Act offence and is being taken into custody at south London police station. Enquiries continue.”
The hacked images – which were offered for sale by someone demanding £50,000 within 48 hours – included pictures of Pippa’s nephew Prince George and niece Princess Charlotte, a photo of the party planner at a wedding dress fitting and a nude shot of her fiance James Matthews.
