Phillip Schofield given Prince Philip warning

OHMYGOSSIP — Phillip Schofield was warned not to make Prince Philip “cross” while making a new documentary.
The 54-year-old presenter has been working on a programme to mark 60 years of the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme and was granted a rare interview with the 95-year-old royal.
Though the ‘This Morning’ host praised the prince – who is married to Queen Elizabeth – for being “remarkable”, he admitted he was issued a number of warnings over what he could and couldn’t talk about with the royal.
He said: “I’ve been spending some time with him and he is just the most remarkable guy.
“He remembers everything, he’s very spritely, sharp.
“They warn you, ‘Don’t say that because you’ll make him cross’, ‘Don’t say that, you’ll make him cross’…
“So it is a bit of a dance.”
However, Phillip was “really impressed” by the prince’s active lifestyle, despite his advancing years, and hopes to be like him when he’s older.
His ‘This Morning’ co-host Holly Willoughby said: “You were so impressed with him. He kept coming into ‘This Morning’ saying, ‘Gosh, this happened yesterday, this happened yesterday’… You were really impressed with him.”
Phillip added during a joint interview on ‘Loose Women’: “I’m really impressed by what he does. As an elderly gentleman, that’s all I want to be.”
Phillip recently admitted the prince was unimpressed when he learned he hadn’t taken part in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards scheme as a youngster himself.
He said: “The first time I met the Duke at a Duke of Edinburgh Awards ceremony, he said to me ‘Did you do your DofE award?’ and I said ‘It wasn’t at our school’ and he said ‘Then why the bloody hell are you here then?’
“I said ‘My wife did her gold’ and he replied ‘Well she should be here then!’… He doesn’t suffer fools!”
‘When Phillip Met Prince Philip: 60 Years of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award’ will also feature interviews with the prince’s son Prince Edward and his wife Sophie Wessex.

Prince William to help veterans

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William will help provide employment opportunities for military veterans.
The 34-year-old royal will attend a programme in Basingtoke, Hampshire, southern England, on October 12th as part of the Step into Health programme.
A message on the Kensington Palace Twitter account read: “The Duke of Cambridge will carry out engagements on 12th October focusing on work to provide employment opportunities for military veterans.”
Step into Health provides work experience packages of up to four weeks to help veterans explore the career opportunities available to them.
It won’t be the first time William – who has kids, Prince George, three, and 17-month-old Princess Charlotte with wife Duchess Catherine – has helped out veterans.
In September 2015, he, along with Prince Harry, helped to build homes for ex-Army staff on the BBC’s DIY SOS show for a ‘The Big Build: Veteran’s Special’ programme.
Many of Britain’s homeless people are war veterans and William and Harry’s involvement in the project – for which eight buildings and a total of 62 homes for ex-military personnel were built – helped to put the spotlight on finding a solution to the issue.
What’s more, William and Catherine opened their tour of Canada last month at British Columbia’s Parliament Buildings by paying respects at Victoria’s Cenotaph and unveiling a new plaque paying tribute to the veterans of Canada’s involvement in the Afghanistan conflict.

Royal couple baby odds slashed

OHMYGOSSIP — Bookmakers have slashed odds on Prince William and Duchess Catherine announcing they are expecting another baby.
Ladbrokes has cut the odds to just 4/6 that the royal couple – who have three-year-old Prince George and 17-month-old Princess Charlotte – will make an announcement next year stating they are to welcome a third child into the world.
It is 4/1 the pair will reveal such news before 2016 is out, or a 3/1 chance for a baby announcement to be made in 2018.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “The sight of Kate and Wills with George and Charlotte has sent royal baby watchers into overdrive.
“A 2016 announcement seems unlikely but if the money’s to be believed 2017 looks like a certainty.
“Fans of the Duke and Duchess are hoping the couple make an addition to their gorgeous brood sooner rather than later.”
William and Catherine, who are both 34, have recently returned from an eight-day tour of Canada with their children, and he thanked the Canadian people for welcoming his family into their country.
He said in a statement: “Catherine and I are incredibly grateful to the people of Canada for the warmth and hospitality they have extended to our family over the last week.
“We have loved our time in British Columbia and Yukon and will never forget the beautiful places we have seen and the many people who have been kind enough to come to welcome us in person.
“We feel very lucky to have been able to introduce George and Charlotte to Canada.
“This country will play a big part in the lives of our children and we have created such happy memories for our family during this visit.
“Canada is a country of optimism, generosity and unrivalled natural beauty. I hope we have helped all Canadians celebrate what makes this country great. We will see you again soon.”

Queen Elizabeth back from Balmoral

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth has returned from Balmoral.
The 90-year-old monarch headed back to Buckingham Palace yesterday (04.10.16) after a long summer break at her Scottish residence, where she entertained Prince William, Duchess Catherine and her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton among others.
Elizabeth was seen driving Catherine – who has children, Prince George, three, and 17-month-old Princess Charlotte, with William – to a family picnic just above Loch Muick.
And, also in her Range Rover, the queen was spotted driving Carole back from a grouse shoot.
A source said: “It’s very unusual for in-laws to be welcomed so warmly into the Royal Family.
“This personal invitation shows how much regard Her Majesty has for the duchess’ family. I can’t recall them staying at Balmoral before, so this is a real sign of affection.”
The monarch may well be watching more TV on her Buckingham Palace return after having further satellite channels installed at the house while she was away.
A planning report recently stated: “Televisions within Buckingham Palace are fed by a signal distribution system that runs throughout the building.
“The system is now 12 years old and is to be replaced.
“We are looking to install the new satellite dishes during the summer recess when the Queen is at Balmoral.”
Elizabeth is known to be a big fan of TV and counts ‘EastEnders’, ‘Midsomer Murders’ and ‘Doctor Who’ as some of her favourite programmes.

Prince Charles visit gran's resting place

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles has visited his grandmother’s final resting place for the first time.
The Prince of Wales took some flowers from his garden at Birkhall, Scotland, to the grave of Princess Alice of Greece, the Duke of Edinburgh’s late mother, at Church of St Mary Magdalene in Jerusalem on Friday (30.09.16).
Charles is said to have picked the floral display himself from his garden in Aberdeenshire, and also placed some at the grave of Elizabeth, the Grand Duchess of Russia, one of his ancestors.
Alice was buried in St George’s Chapel, Windsor, following her death in 1969 but she always wanted to be laid to rest next to Elizabeth.
Alice founded an order of nuns during her later years and was said to smoke Woodbines for around two years when she lived at Buckingham Palace until her death in 1969.
She became Princess Andrew of Greece after marrying Prince Andrew of Greece.
Born at Windsor Castle in February 1885 as Princess Alice of Battenberg, she passed away at Buckingham Palace aged 84 in December 1969.
She was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia at a psychiatry unit in Berlin after believing she had been intimate with Christ and Buddha.

Prince Harry 'moved' at awards

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry was left “profoundly moved” by the children at the WellChild Awards.
The 32-year-old royal made an emotional speech at the ceremony at London’s Dorchester hotel on Monday night (03.10.16) which celebrated seriously ill kids and youngsters in the UK as well as those who help make a huge difference to their lives.
He told the attendees: “This is now my ninth WellChild awards and each year at this remarkable event, I am profoundly moved by the people I have met and the stories they have shared with me.
“It is one of those moments in life when you are left in awe at the strength of human character, particularly amongst those so young. Watching these children and young people face challenges with such determination, positivity and good humour, never fails to take my breath away.
“We are also here this evening to celebrate the selfless dedication of those around them, who work tirelessly to make their lives better – from remarkable young carers such as Brodie, Armaan and Jessica, to the devoted professionals and volunteers you will hear about later this evening – never underestimate the impact you have had on the many lives you’ve touched.”
Harry also heaped praise on the nurses who work tirelessly alongside the “fantastic charity” to look after the children.
He added: “Thankfully WellChild now has more nurses working across the UK than ever before – many of whom are with us tonight. But at a time of ever-increasing demand, their role in enabling children to be cared for safely at home with their families is more important than ever.
“Please continue to support these amazing nurses in getting more children home, where they belong.
“I would like to congratulate all of tonight’s winners again, well done and thank you for inspiring all of us with your strength, positivity and selflessness. I am so fortunate to have had the chance of meeting you all and so proud to be associated with this fantastic charity.
“I hope you have a wonderful evening. Thank you.”

Prince Harry hugs terminally ill youngster

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry broke royal protocol to hug a terminally ill youngster at the WellChild Awards.
The 32-year-old prince attended the London-based ceremony last night (03.10.16) and was so taken with five-year-old Ollie Carroll, who suffers from Battens Disease, he shared a loving embrace with the little one.
Ollie’s mother Lucy Carroll told Harry he was “very lucky indeed” to receive a hug from the youngster, who cannot use his legs due to his condition.
She said: “He was thrilled – they both were.
“Ollie isn’t actually aware of who Harry is but just reacted instinctively to the way he was talking and interacting with him.
“He is brilliant with kids and just very natural.
“He was very privileged as Ollie cannot use his legs but he just used his strength to stand up and hug him. I felt really proud of Ollie – and of Harry too.”
Harry also met youngster Jessica Davis, who was given the Young Hero prize at the ceremony for looking after her MS-suffering mother Paula and autistic brother William.
She joked to the prince that her older brother can be embarrassing, and he admitted his sibling, also called William, acts the same.
He told her: “I have an older brother called William, and he’s embarrassing all the time.”
Harry was also gifted with a balloon shaped like a flower from a girl called Mikayla and a WellChild bracelet from three-year-old Joshua at the ceremony, which took place at the Dorchester Hotel.

Prince Harry snubbed by Zoella

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoella turned down the chance to meet Prince Harry.
The YouTube sensation was invited to go and spend some time with the 32-year-old royal but she declined because she was suffering from anxiety.
She explained to Cosmopolitan magazine: “I was too scared.. I’m working on this anxiety thing but I’m not quite ready for that. Hopefully he will invite me back.”
She added: “Sorry Prince Harry.”
If she had have met Harry, the 26-year-old star – whose real name is Zoe Suggs – could’ve asked about his choice of decor in his home as it was recently revealed he had painted the walls pink.
Joa Studholme, a colour consultant for paintmaker Farrow & Ball, said: “How can I say this very discreetly it was a young prince, the youngest. Not William and not George. Very strong colours, very contemporary. He had lots of greys and lovely pinks. You’d be surprised actually.”
However, the flame-haired hunk’s decision to paint his walls pink didn’t come as a shock to Mrs Studholme – who charges £250 an hour – as she believes the feminine colour is “absolutely the big thing in decorating at the moment.”
She explained: “It’s all about everything being pink. I can tell you exactly why it’s so popular. Pink is popular because I think we led these very, very busy lives, very flat-screened… we have iPads. Everything is flat, hard, pink just just gives you a big hug. These colours are just are so tender and blushy, you go home and sort of sink into them and they go fanatically well with copper and… copper is obviously very, very popular. I just think it’s the whole thing about too much technology and we are going back to our routes with pink.”

Prince Harry competing with James Middleton over beard

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry is competing with James Middleton over who can grow the best beard.
The 32-year-old royal has been sporting facial hair for a few months now and is keen to outdo sister-in-law Duchess Catherine’s brother James.
The duchess – who is also known as Kate Middleton – and husband Prince William made the confession when they sailed on a ship during their recent tour of Canada.
Crew Member Steve Atkinson – who has a very impressive beard – revealed: “The duke said my beard was the most magnificent specimen he’d ever seen.
“The duchess was saying that both their brothers are competing on the beard-growing front.
“They asked how long I’ve been growing it and they loved it.”
Harry was recently voted the world’s hottest royal and many credited his new beard with helping him secure the title.
Asim Shahmalak, from Crown Clinic, commented: “Prince Harry is our most popular young royal and it is great to see that he has now been voted the world’s number one Prince Charming, too.
“He is a fun guy and is great at selling Britain all over the world.
“The other fun finding from the poll is that it was won by a ginger-haired man. You don’t find many Hollywood leading men who are redheads but Harry shows that it is a very attractive hair colour.
“I think Harry’s whole look has been enhanced by his recent beard which really suits him.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Beatrice visited an eye hospital in Nepal – just days after completing her first triathlon.
The 28-year-old royal flew to the country’s capital, Kathmandu, to see the work that is performed at the Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology.
Executive Chief Officer of the hospital Dr Rita Gurung said the Beatrice was “visibly excited” when she heard about the hospital providing free services to people from impoverished families.
Afterwards she headed to Pashupatinath, a nearby Hindu shrine, but managed to avoid being locals by locals thanks to a pair of dark shades.
Last week, Beatrice – the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip – swam two miles, cycled 70 miles and hiked more than 20 miles up Mount Etna in Italy with Sir Richard Branson and his children to raise money for the charity Big Change.
She said of her triathlon experience: “I loved every second … We wanted to do something that was about bringing people together but about asking slightly hard questions about how we can make the biggest change, not just looking at causes, but actually looking at how we can really make a sustainable difference to the lives of young people.”

She explained: “The dyslexia battle is something that everyone goes through everyday but I hope that in the future that we can create a place where it doesn’t matter if you’ve got dyslexia or if you don’t – where the school environment is a safe and secure place for young people to thrive, not just in exams. It’s about ensuring that young people have the tools that they need to be able to take on work and life and education and families – that all rolls into one.”

Prince George wanted to fly parents home

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince George offered to fly his parents back home to England.
The adorable three-year-old royal had just completed an official tour of Canada with mother Duchess Catherine, father Prince William and 17-month-old sister Princess Charlotte and as they left Victoria, British Columbia, they boarded a seaplane to take them to Vancouver before a Canadian military jet flew them to the UK.
And after the seaplane landed, George was thrilled to be invited into the cockpit, where he wanted to show off his flying skills.
Pilot Shawn Stewart told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “After we landed, once the co-pilot got out, George climbed up into the seat and started playing with the controls and pretending he was flying the plane.
‘Kate said: ‘Where are you going to fly us? Are you going to fly us to Canada?’
‘And George said: ‘No I’m going to fly us to England.”
The eight-day tour of eastern Canada has taken the royals from the stunning scenery of the Hadai Gwaii archipelago to the Yukon gold rush town of Whitehorse.
But it has been George and Charlotte who have been stealing the show on their public outings.
However, it is thought this will be the last overseas tour the children will accompany their parents on for a long time.
Sources close to the family say their decision to bring George and Charlotte was a “one-off” and that the youngsters are unlikely to accompany their parents on another official overseas tour for several years so they can enjoy a “normal childhood”.
