Prince William thanks emergency services after London attack

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William visited St Thomas’ Hospital to thank the emergency services for their work during the London terror attack.
The 34-year-old royal met with medical staff at the Westminster hospital on Thursday (30.03.17) to thank them personally for their life-saving efforts during the attack last week which took place outside the Houses of Parliament when Khalid Masood mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge before stabbing and killing police officer Keith Palmer, and eventually being shot by armed police.
A Kensington Palace spokeswoman told Hello magazine: “The Duke wanted to visit privately with some of those who were first to respond to the attacks.”
William arrived at the hospital late on Thursday morning, and spoke with a number of those involved in the response team including A&E consultants, junior doctors, and security manager Carl McIntosh who raised the alarm to ensure the hospital was placed under lockdown following the attack.
London Ambulance Service chairman Heather Lawrence said: “Our frontline crews and control room staff did an exceptional job in incredibly difficult circumstances. They stayed calm and provided excellent care to those affected and we are very grateful that Prince William has recognised everyone’s efforts.”
Prince William’s visit to the hospital comes after his father, Prince Charles, made a similar visit to King’s College Hospital last week.
Meanwhile, William has also paid tribute to the late PC Keith Palmer with a wreath at the police memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire on Wednesday (29.03.17)
The royal attached a hand-written note to the display praising Keith and everyone who has served for the community “so valiantly”.
It read: “For PC Keith Palmer and all those who have served our community so valiantly; your legacy is our way of life. William.”
William – who has three-year-old son Prince George and 22-month-old daughter Princess Charlotte with his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge – also officially opened the new remembrance centre during his visit.

Prince Harry had professional training to help sufferers of mental health problems

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has had professional training to help people battling with mental health problems.
The 32-year-old royal has undertaken a two-day training course in a bid to learn how to assist veterans who are battling with psychological issues during his time working with injured service people at the London District Personnel Recovery Unit, according to the Mail Online.
Speaking about the flame-haired hunk, a source said: “Through his work with the personal recovery unit he attended a two-day course about how to help people with mental health issues in the veterans’ context.
“It’s about mental health first aid: what do you do when someone comes to you, what words should you use, which direction can you point them in? It also went through the range of issues veterans face.”
Although the insider believes the “stigma” surrounding a person’s internal battle has become less, it is stressed that more needs to be done to help with other types of mental health issues.
The source continued: “PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) isn’t the stigma that it once was, but it is sometimes used as a catch-all diagnosis when other issues such as depression and anxiety may be more appropriate.”
And Harry’s older brother the Duke of Cambridge, and his wife Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, have released a series of 10 films, which capture various people opening up about their struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders and traumas in a bid to educate the nation.
Prince William, Catherine and Harry joined forces to create the Heads Together campaign last year to help raise awareness around mental health.
Speaking previously, they said: “Attitudes to mental health are at a tipping point. We hope these films show people how simple conversations can change the direction of an entire life.”

The Duchess of Cambridge 'is a style inspiration for Meghan Markle'

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle is increasingly following the Duchess of Cambridge’s taste in clothes, according to a fashion expert.
The ‘Suits’ actress has been dating Prince Harry since mid-2016, and the evolution of her wardrobe has led to suggestions she has been inspired by the Duchess.
Naomi Isted, a celebrity style expert, told Express.co.uk: “Meghan’s style has always been quite feminine slightly sexy, yet we have been seeing a much more polished and tailored version of late.
“Meghan’s recent looks are sleeker just as we saw Kate’s style evolve into much more tailored and chic looks, Meghan seems to be following suit.”
Naomi explained that it’s easy for Meghan to copy the Duchess because they have certain physical similarities.
She said: “They have very similar body types and naturally as the relationship grows so will her wardrobe into a very defined look just as Kate’s has become super sleek, tailored and every inch the modern-day princess.”
Earlier this week, meanwhile, it was reported that Prince Harry is set to move in with Meghan.
The flame-haired royal is apparently keen to settle down with Meghan and has, therefore, made plans to live with his girlfriend next door to his brother Prince William.
Prince Harry has also been taking a keen interest in the renovation work going on at their new apartment at Kensington Palace.
A source said: “He keeps popping round and asking when it will be ready. He seems in a real hurry to move in with Meghan.”

The three-year-old royal will join Thomas’s Battersea school in September this year, which is located a short walk away from Kensington Palace, and the Duchess has already met some of the parents whose children attend the educational establishment.

“We’re parents there as well. She just said, ‘I may see you at the school gates.'”
Meanwhile, the school’s headmaster, Ben Thomas, recently revealed Prince George is set to learn how to be a “giver, not taker” when he starts primary school this year.
Ben explained in a newsletter posted on the school’s website that the educational institution prides itself on teaching their pupils the “core values”, which include “kindness, courtesy, confidence, humility”.
He wrote: “Whilst we are proud of our record of senior school entrance and scholarship successes, we place a greater emphasis on a set of core values, which include kindness, courtesy, confidence, humility and learning to be givers, not takers.
“We offer a rich and broad curriculum, with Art, Ballet, Drama, ICT, French, Music and PE all taught by specialist teachers from a child’s first day in school.”
Ben also vowed that the prestigious school would transform their students into “conscientious and caring citizens”.

Prince Charles begins his three-day tour of Romania

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles begins his three-day visit of Romania on Wednesday (29.03.17).
The 68-year-old royal is embarking on a tour of various European countries between now and April 6, which will include a meeting with Pope Francis in the Vatican in early April, and the tour has begun in the Balkan state.
The Prince will hold private talks with various officials in the country, with the discussions focusing on the development of the strategic partnership relation between Romania and the UK.
During his trip, Prince Charles will hold a meeting with Romanian President Klaus Iohannis, whom he has met on two previous occasions, in May 2015 and May 2016.
The talks will attract particular attention because the UK is currently in the midst of leaving the European Union, and still needs to negotiate the terms of the country’s exit.
Meanwhile, a poll conducted earlier this year revealed that 52 percent of the British public would prefer to see Prince William succeed Queen Elizabeth rather than Prince Charles.
The poll, conducted by Opinium Research, discovered that just 27 percent of people would like to see Prince Charles become the King, while the report also revealed that 65 percent of UK adults still support a hereditary monarchy.
James Endersby, Managing Director of Opinium Research, reflected: “The monarchy clearly retains the support of the British public, and our tracker indicates that the institution is as popular now as it ever was.
“However, young people are not as invested as the older generation and this does raise questions about the future of the monarchy after the Queen – will the institution survive without one of history’s most respected sovereigns?”
What’s more, the research discovered that 19 percent of UK adults hope Britain will become a republic in the future.

The Duchess admitted it is a “wonderful experience” being a parent, but said it is also a “huge challenge” at times.

This collection of films shows how important it is to be open about mental health especially in the early years of parenthood.
“Personally, becoming a mother has been such a rewarding and wonderful experience. However, at times, it’s also been a huge challenge.”
The Duchess said that despite being surrounded by a strong support network, she has occasionally found motherhood to be an overwhelming experience.

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William is set to open a new remembrance centre at the National Memorial Arboretum.
The 34-year-old royal is poised to meet veterans of all three armed services at the official opening of the new centre, while he will also meet with volunteers and schoolchildren.
Prince William’s visit to the site later today (29.03.17) comes after a nine-year fundraising campaign to improve facilities for visitors to the arboretum in Alrewas, Staffordshire.

Prince George, who will celebrate his fourth birthday in July, will be required to wear a cagoule with the establishment’s crest emblazoned on it when he attends the school, which costs £6,000 per term.

Prince Harry's friends thinks his future with Meghan Markle will become 'clearer' soon

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry’s friends believe his future plans with Meghan Markle will become “clearer” in a few months.
The 32-year-old royal has been dating the ‘suits’ actress for just under one year, and although there has been growing speculation the pair are set to live together, people close to the pair don’t think the couple will put anything into action until they’ve been together for one full year.
Speaking to the Daily Express about their love life, a source said: “They’ve been dating for just over seven months now.
“Give it until the relationship has been going for a year and then I think we’ll have a clearer idea.”
This news comes days after it was claimed the flame-haired hunk kept checking in on the building work taking place at Kensington Palace because he is keen to move in as quickly as he can with the brunette beauty, and live next door to his brother the Duke of Cambridge.
Speaking previously, a separate source said: “He keeps popping round and asking when it will be ready. He seems in a real hurry to move in with Meghan.”
The couple’s soon-to-be new apartment is close to where the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will call home from September.
The source continued: “It’s sweet that Harry and Meghan will be living next to William and Kate.”
Meghan, 35, has recently been in London with the Prince, where the duo have spent lots of time together.
The brunette beauty is scheduled to return to Canada for “filming commitments” over the spring and summer, and so she has been determined to spend as much quality time with her beau before she returns to work.
A source said: “They spend a lot of time watching movies at Harry’s and cooking new dishes.”

Prince Harry plays football in youth centre

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry played two-touch football with a youth group at a community sports centre in Leicester.
The 32-year-old royal impressed young footballers with his skills as he joined in with a game of two-touch football – which involves kicking a football over a volleyball net – during a visit to the Southfields Drive Support Centre in a deprived area of the city.
Whilst there, Prince Harry learned that the centre is under threat from council cuts, and met with young people who had gotten themselves into trouble because of a lack of things to do in the neighbourhood had pushed them toward crime.
The royal told the youths and local dignitaries gathered at the event: “It’s ridiculous because these small organisations are the ones that are making the biggest difference.
“You’ve just got to have that support – and that belief to have someone out there saying because you’re good you can go out there and do what you can.”
Prince Harry – who has worked with young people in the poorest parts of Nottingham for four years – also told the Pink Lizard youth group who hosted the event about the funding in other cities that has allowed for centres containing music studios, hair salons, sports complexes, and other facilities.
He said: “The gaping hole you are talking about, other cities have filled with funding.”
Ady Hinds, the managing director of Pink Lizard, now hopes Harry’s visit to the centre will have a positive impact on funding for the area.
And social work student Tendai Daire, 21, who partnered Harry in the football, has seen the benefits of taking part in community sport on the estate.
He said: “When we first moved here it wasn’t a good time. Our house was getting egged every day. People didn’t know us but then as we got involved it stopped.”

Princess Anne backs GM crops

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Anne has said the genetic modification of crops will make the UK “better at producing food”.
The 66-year-old royal has spoken out in favour of using scientific technology to create genetically modified (GM) crops, as she believes growing food this way will have real benefits in the “value” of the crops the UK produces.
Genetic modification of crops involves changing the DNA of plants using genetic engineering techniques, in order to give the plant a trait which does not occur naturally in the species.
Speaking on UK radio station BBC Radio 4’s ‘Farming Today’ show, the Princess Royal said: “GM is one of those things that divides people, but surely if we’re going to be better at producing food of the right value then we have to accept that genetic technology – whether you call it modification or anything else – is going to be part of that.
“Most of us will argue that we’ve been genetically modifying food since man started to be agrarian but everybody will say ‘well it doesn’t happen so quickly’.
“So being able to understand what those changes mean, if you change one aspect of a plant then how does it affect the rest of the environment around it, does it have a long-term impact?
“There’s probably a very long-term impact and we may not see that for quite a long time. And to say ‘no we mustn’t go there just in case’ is probably not a practical argument.
“And I do think that in the future, your gene technology has got real benefits to offer, which will have maybe an occasional downside, but I suspect not very many.”
Princess Anne’s views on GM crops are likely to clash with her older brother Prince Charles, however, as he has long been an advocate of ending genetic modification and is the royal patron of the Soil Association, which has campaigned against GM crops and using GM ingredients in human and animal food.
