Prince Philip’s order of service revealed

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Philip’s service to the country will be remembered at his funeral.
The 99-year-old royal – who passed away a week ago on Friday (09.04.21) – will be laid to rest on Saturday April 17 at Windsor Castle and in an order of service, the blessing mentions “his service to the Nation and the Commonwealth” as well as his “kindness, humour and humanity”.
The blessing reads: “We are here today in St George’s Chapel to commit into the hands of God the soul of his servant Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. With grateful hearts, we remember the many ways in which his long life has been a blessing to us. We have been inspired by his unwavering loyalty to our Queen, by his service to the Nation and the Commonwealth, by his courage, fortitude and faith. Our lives have been enriched through the challenges that he has set us, the encouragement that he has given us, his kindness, humour and humanity. We therefore pray that God will give us grace to follow his example, and that, with our brother Philip, at the last, we shall know the joys of life eternal.”
Prince Philip had chosen the Victorian hymn ‘Eternal Father, Strong To Save’ to be sung at his funeral.
Meanwhile, Prince Philip’s funeral will be a “profound” chance for Queen Elizabeth II to say goodbye to her husband of 73 years, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said.
He said: “We really have to avoid judging from anything external. She’s the Queen. She will behave with the extraordinary dignity, extraordinary courage that she always does.
“And at the same time she is saying farewell to someone to whom she was married for 73 years. I think that must be a very, very profound thing … in anybody’s life.”

Prince William is breaking the news of Prince Philip’s death to his children ‘gently’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has told his children their great-grandfather Prince Philip “is an angel now” following his death on Friday (09.04.21).
The 99-year-old husband of Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully last week, and it has now been reported that his grandson Prince William and his wife Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, have been breaking the news to their three young children – Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two – as “gently” as possible.
A royal insider told Us Weekly magazine: “William told George, Charlotte and Louis that Prince Philip has ‘gone to heaven’ and ‘is an angel now’. They’re still so young so he and Kate wanted to let them down gently.
“Naturally, the children are very upset, particularly George and Charlotte. Louis is still very young and had only met Prince Philip a couple of times.”
The news comes after William, 38, released an official statement on the passing of his grandfather.
He said: “My grandfather’s century of life was defined by service – to his country and Commonwealth, to his wife and Queen, and to our family.
“I feel lucky to have not just had his example to guide me, but his enduring presence well into my own adult life – both through good times and the hardest days.
“I will always be grateful that my wife had so many years to get to know my grandfather and for the kindness he showed her.
“I will never take for granted the special memories my children will always have of their great-grandpa coming to collect them in his carriage and seeing for themselves his infectious sense of adventure as well as his mischievous sense of humour!”
He added that he and his wife, Catherine, would “continue to do what he would have wanted and will support the Queen in the years ahead”.
Meanwhile, William previously said he is keen for his children to “talk about their emotions”, as part of his continued work to make mental health less taboo.
In 2017, he said: “Catherine and I are clear that we want both George and Charlotte to grow up feeling able to talk about their emotions. For too long there has been a taboo about talking about some important issues. If you were anxious, it’s because you were weak. If you couldn’t cope with whatever life threw at you, it’s because you were failing. Successful, strong people don’t suffer like that, do they? But of course – we all do.”

Piers Morgan: Royal family members have thanked me for Duchess Meghan comments

OHMYGOSSIP — Piers Morgan has claimed “several members of the Royal Family” have sent him messages of “gratitude” following his criticism of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
The 56-year-old broadcaster has been critical of the Duchess since she gave her tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey last month, and even left his position as host of ‘Good Morning Britain’ after his on-air outburst following the interview, where he said he “didn’t believe a word” of what she had said.
And following his public criticism, Piers has now claimed he’s had “messages communicated” to him “on behalf” of other members of the Royal Family, whom he said are thankful to him for defending them.
Speaking to ‘Extra’s Billy Bush, he said: “I’ve had some messages communicated to me on behalf on several members of the Royal Family. I’m not going to go into who it was … but gratitude that somebody was standing up.”
Piers’ comments come just one day after he took aim at Meghan, 39, once again in an interview with FOX News’ Tucker Carlson.
The broadcaster slammed the former actress as “delusional” and accused her of “making millions off the royals while trashing family”.
He said: “It’s not really about Meghan Markle – she’s a delusional duchess who wants to make millions off the royals while trashing family – It’s really about free speech.
“What happened to me is happening all over Britain and America – I can take it, but there are many people who don’t have our platform who are being wiped out, lives destroyed, careers ended for ridiculous things.”
Piers previously dismissed many of Meghan’s comments in her interview, including claims she had made about her mental health, when she said certain people within the royal family had told her there was nothing they could do for her after she said she was considering taking her own life.
And in his FOX interview, Piers said he “finds that impossible to believe”, and called for Meghan to publicly name those involved in the conversations.
He said: “You’re accusing two people in the palace of being unspeakably cruel simply to protect the brand of the Royal family, if that is true let’s have the names of these people and let’s go to them and ask them is this true.
“‘Did you tell a suicidal woman, who told you she was suicidal, not to get help?’ – because I find that impossible to believe.”

Prince William: Royal family are not racist

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has insisted the royal family are not racist.
The 38-year-old prince has spoken out for the first time following his brother Prince Harry and his wife Duchess Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, in which they they claimed there were “concerns and conversations” about how “dark” their son Archie’s skin would be before he was born.
During a visit to a school in east London, he told reporters: “We are very much not a racist family.”
William admitted he hasn’t yet spoken to Harry since the interview aired earlier this week but he does intend do.
He said: “I haven’t spoken to him yet but I plan too.”
William’s comments come after a statement from Buckingham Palace said the royal family found the “issues raised” in Harry and Meghan’s interview to be “concerning” and promised to address them “privately”.
The statement read: “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.
“The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.”
Meghan, 39, claimed in the interview that there had been several “concerns and conversations” raised by an unnamed member of the royal family about her son’s skin tone before his birth.
She explained: “That was relayed to me from Harry. Those were conversations that family had with him.”
However, Meghan – who is currently expecting a second child, a baby girl, with Harry – insisted she wouldn’t reveal the identity of the individual.
She said: “That would be very damaging to them.”
Prince Harry then admitted to being “shocked” by the conversations, but again insisted he didn’t wish to name anybody.
He said: “That conversation, I am never going to share. At the time, it was awkward, I was a bit shocked.”
Oprah later clarified after the interview was broadcast that it was not the monarch herself, nor her husband Prince Philip, who had made the comments about Archie’s skin tone.
Oprah explained: “[Harry] did not share the identity with me but he wanted to make sure that I knew – and if I had the opportunity to share it – that it was not his grandmother, nor his grandfather that were part of those conversations.”
The 67-year-old star confirmed that Prince Harry, 36, also remained tight-lipped about the unnamed royal’s identity off camera.
She added: “He did not tell me who were part of those conversations. As you can see, I tried to get that answer on camera and off.”

Prince Charles receives COVID-19 jab

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles has received his COVID-19 jab.
The 72-year-old heir to the throne and his 73-year-old wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are within the fourth priority group for the jab because of their age, and Clarence House have confirmed they have now had their injections.
It is unclear which vaccine the royal couple received, or where it was administered.
Charles and Camilla have had their vaccines a month after the prince’s parents, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip, received theirs.
The Prince of Wales contracted coronavirus last March and experienced mild symptoms, but his wife managed to escape the virus.
Although he hadn’t fully regained his sense of smell two months after his diagnosis, Charles previously insisted he had “got away with it quite lightly” when he contracted the potentially-deadly virus.
He said at the time: “It makes me even more determined to push and shout and prod if you see what I mean. Whatever I can do behind the scenes sometimes. I suppose it did partly, I mean I was lucky in my case and got away with it quite lightly.
“But I’ve had it, and I can so understand what other people have gone through. And I feel particularly for those for instance, who have lost their loved ones and have been unable to be with them at the time. That to me is the most ghastly thing.
“But in order to prevent this happening to so many more people, this is why I’m so determined to find a way out of this.
“In order to bring the world and all of us back to the centre, back to understanding what we have to do in relationship to the natural world.”

The Netherlands: The Dutch Royal Family will not take their annual holiday to Lech, Austria, this year due to COVID regulations

OHMYGOSSIP – The Dutch Royal Family will not take their annual holiday to Lech, Austria, this year due to COVID regulations. The Government Information Service (RVD) confirmed the news to Dutch news organisation ANP.

The royals will be abiding by Dutch health regulations and recommendations by Prime Minister Mark Rutte by not to holiday until the end of March. Austria also only has their slopes in the Alps open to their citizens.

Each year, the Royal Family takes a holiday to Lech in February where one of their two yearly photo sessions takes place. Last year’s photo call took place on 25 February. This year would have marked the 61st year that the royals would have visited Lech, according to the King’s calculations.

King Willem-Alexander, his family and the press have an agreement where the press leaves the family alone in exchange for two photo sessions each year – one in the winter and one in the summer. He and his family have appeared for photo calls every year since 2005 with the exception of 2010 when they were in Vancouver for the Winter Olympics and in 2012 when the King’s brother, Prince Friso had his deadly skiing accident.

There’s been no information on if a winter photo session will still take place in some fashion. At the moment, the Netherlands are in a lockdown until at least 2 March due to COVID-19. Other restrictions include a 9 pm curfew, restrictions on occupancy levels and the closure of non-essential businesses.

OHMYGOSSIP – Denmark’s Princess Athena is seen having fun in the Paris snow in the new birthday images released by the Danish Royal House. The four photographs were taken by her mother, Princess Marie, at the family’s home in Paris, where they are currently living.

The family relocated to France for Joachim’s job at the Danish Embassy where he serves as a Military Attaché.

Athena is the youngest grandchild of Queen Margrethe and the late Prince Henrik and is tenth in the line of succession.

She was born on 24 January 2012 at the Copenhagen University Hospital as the second child of Prince Joachim and his second wife, Princess Marie. Athena has three older brothers: Princes Nikolai and Felix through her father’s first marriage to Countess Alexandra and Prince Henrik.

Keeping with Danish royal tradition, her name was not announced until her christening on 20 May 2012 at Møgeltønder Church. Then, her name was revealed as Athena Marguerite Françoise Marie. Her godparents are her maternal uncles, Gregory Grandet and Edouard Cavallier; friends of her parents, Julie Mirabaud, Diego de Lavandeyra and Henriette Steenstrup; and the longterm American girlfriend of her paternal cousin, Carina Axelsson.

Prince William congratulates frontline workers on making mass Covid-19 vaccine rollout possible

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has paid tribute to frontline workers and volunteers in the UK.
The Duke of Cambridge jumped on a video call this week to share his gratitude to those helping to administer Covid-19 vaccines across the nation.
William, 38, also hailed the “world-leading” NHS (National Health Service) for making the mass rollout possible amid the pandemic.
He said during the video conference: “I want to say a huge congratulations to everyone involved in the vaccination programme because it looks tremendous, it really does.
I know what a massive difference it is going to make to everyone. It is also worth pointing out I think that this isn’t something that happens really easily and that everyone has access to around the world. This is because we have a world-leading NHS and we have the right people, research and development here.”
Jake Plummer, a Saints Foundation volunteer working at University Southampton Hospital in Hampshire, south England, said it was a “once in a lifetime opportunity” to get to discuss the vaccination programme with the royal.
He said: “It’s been a privilege to be a part of the vaccine rollout.
“In my role I’ve been able provide that friendly face that people need whilst they’re getting vaccinated, especially as it can be a daunting experience for some. I’ve met so many different people of all ages and backgrounds, and to meet The Duke today and be able to discuss with him how important this effort is really was a once in a lifetime opportunity.”
While Dr. Nikki Kanani, NHS England Medical Director for Primary Care, said: “Everyone on the frontline, volunteers and NHS staff have all pulled together and worked so tremendously hard to ensure the vaccine rollout is a success, and it is fantastic that The Duke of Cambridge has taken the time to boost morale for all those across the UK who are so integral to this effort.”
More than three million doses have been administered so far.

Prince William made secret visits to homeless centre

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William made three secret visits to a homeless centre.
The Duke of Cambridge visited The Passage three times before Christmas to help prepare and pack food for homeless people across London, whilst also chatting to residents of the centre.
Speaking about the work the centre is doing, Mick Clarke, The Passage Chief Executive, said: “This year, more than ever, our army of volunteers have enabled The Passage to keep our vital services running throughout both lockdowns and the time in-between. From our emergency food hub to fundraising, outreach to essential office support, our Home for Good programme to our residential projects, we are extremely fortunate to have such a versatile and committed group of supporters.”
Cardinal Vincent Nichols, head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales and patron of The Passage, added: “I know the Duke is deeply committed to working with those most in need, such as the thousands of people The Passage has helped off the streets.”
Prince William has visited the homeless centre multiple times over the years including with his mother Diana, Princess of Wales in 1993 and in 2018 with Mary Berry as part of a BBC festive show.
The Duke of Cambridge – who has Prince George, seven, Princess Charlotte, five, and Prince Louis, two, with his wife, Duchess Catherine – also visited the centre in 2016, where he spoke of the “deep and lasting impression” it had left on him ever since he visited in the 1990s.
He said at the time: “The visits I made as a child to this place left a deep and lasting impression upon me. About how important it is to ensure that everyone in our society, especially the poorest, are treated with respect, dignity and kindness, and are given the opportunities to fulfil their potential in life.”

Prince Charles’ Christmas reading

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla have appeared alongside a host of famous faces to help raise awareness of actors who are currently out of work owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
The royal couple have been joined by the likes of Tom Hardy, Dame Maggie Smith and Joanna Lumley to read ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas’ for a special charity video.
Prince Charles opens the video by reading its famous first line: “‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.”
The Prince of Wales has experienced the virus hand, after testing positive for coronavirus in March.
And Charles admitted he “got away with it quite lightly” when he contracted the potentially deadly virus.
Speaking about the battle with his respiratory illness, he shared: “It makes me even more determined to push and shout and prod if you see what I mean. Whatever I can do behind the scenes sometimes. I suppose it did partly, I mean I was lucky in my case and got away with it quite lightly. But I’ve had it, and I can so understand what other people have gone through. Prince Harry: Serving in the military changed my life for the better

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry says serving in the British Army changed his life “for the better”.
The 36-year-old royal served in the military for 10 years – including two deployments in Afghanistan – and has said his experience in the armed forces has made him who he is, and taught him important lessons in “resilience” and “strength”.
Speaking as he took part in the 14th Annual Stand Up for Heroes event in support of military personnel and veterans on ABC on Wednesday (19.11.20) night, he said: “I’m really pleased to be a part of tonight’s gathering, for a cause that is so close to my heart. My experience in the military made me who I am today. It also connected me with some of the strongest, funniest, and most memorable people I have ever met. Once we join this team, we are always part of this team. Once we’ve served, we are always serving, and proudly so.”
Harry went on to praise the “sacrifice” made by those who serve in the military, as he said their hard work is rarely “recognised”.
He added: “In war, you see things you hope no-one else has to see. You prepare yourself as much as possible, but truth be told, nothing can really prepare you. So much was being sacrificed without recognition, and so many lives were forever changed.
“I wanted to honour the legacy of these men and women who have given up so much from time with family, to birthdays missed, and even births missed. Some lost their limbs and others lost their lives.”
The royal also spoke about the Invictus Games – which is a multi-sport event for armed services personnel, which he set up in 2014 – and said his time working both in the military and with Invictus has changed how he views “sacrifice and service”.
He said: “It is for that reason that I created the Invictus Games, to give injured servicemen and women a platform to excel, and reaffirm their values of resilience, of community and strength, which are inherent in each and every one of us.
“Frankly, that experience changed my life forever and for the better. It changed how I viewed sacrifice and service. I was born into a life of duty, but it was during my decade in the army that I committed to a life of service.”

Duchess Meghan: Breastfeeding is like ‘running a marathon’

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Meghan has likened breastfeeding to “running a marathon”.
The Duchess of Sussex – who has 17-month-old son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor with her husband, Prince Harry – admits she found it tough balancing her royal commitments and her baby.
She said: “Breastfeeding is like running a marathon, so between every official engagement I was running back to make sure our son was fed, and it was a lot.”
In a famous interview last year, the actress was asked if she was OK, to which she replied she was not, but she was “in a moment of vulnerability” at the time.
Speaking on a new podcast, she added of why she said she wasn’t OK: “I just answered honestly, because I was in a moment of vulnerability because I was tired, there was no presentation, it was just ‘Here’s where I am, I’m a mom who is with a four-and-half-month-old baby and we are tired.'”
Meghan previously revealed she “meditates” to cope with internet trolls.
The Duchess of Sussex said: “I’m told that in 2019 I was the most trolled person in the entire world – male or female. Now for eight months of that. I wasn’t even visible. I was on maternity leave or with the baby, but what was able to be just manufactured and churned out, it’s almost unsurvivable …
“I don’t care if you are 15 or 25, if people are saying things about you that aren’t true, what that does to your mental and emotional health is damaging. Meditation is key. I never thought that I would be the person to do that. Journaling is a very powerful thing. It allows me to reflect on where I’ve come from.”

Prince William to give TED talk

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William is to give a virtual TED talk on climate change.
The Duke of Cambridge will join a star-studded panel at TED’s Countdown Global Launch on 10 October where he and the likes of Jaden Smith, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Al Gore will discuss with engineers, environmentalists and activists how the world can tackle global warming to ensure a better future for the planet.
The 38-year-old royal will take part in the fourth and final session of the conference, which is titled ‘Breakthroughs’ and described as “exploring the nexus of protection, regeneration and transformation using powerful examples.”
An online description of the meeting continued: “The world around us is mainly made of two things: nature and the materials that we extract from it.
“To fight climate change, we need to protect and regenerate nature and transform materials into low or zero-carbon alternatives.”
Part of the conference’s overall aim is to work to find a way to decrease greenhouse gas emissions by half by the year 2030.
The event will be streamed live online on YouTube, with further events planned throughout 2021 ahead of the Countdown Summit in Edinburgh next October.
Late last year, William launched his own climate change initiative, the Earthshot prize.
The venture was aimed at rewarding new ideas and searching for leading innovators, and was unveiled just a week before his father, Prince Charles, unveiled his own environmental endeavour, the Sustainable Markets Council.
The Prince of Wales’ deputy private secretary Scott Furssedonn-Wood previously insisted there was no conflict between the two initiatives as they were both aiming to “find solutions”.
He said in January: “There is no monopoly on action. As long as everyone is pointing in the right direction on this. The prince and [William] are delighted that they have parallel opportunities to pursue the same objectives.”

‘I just want them to be happy’: Mike Tindall discusses Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Tindall says he just wants Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan to “be happy”.
The couple quit as senior members of the British Royal Family earlier this year and moved to California with their son Archie, 15 months, and Mike, who is married to Harry’s cousin Zara, insisted that he wishes the couple all the best.
Speaking on ‘Good Morning Britain’, Mike, 41, said: “Look, they’re busy doing what they’re doing and I just want them to be happy with what they’re doing and be happy with each other.
“And [Harry’s] stressed that it’s all about his family so you’ve got to support him through that.”
Mike also revealed that plans for a 70th birthday bash for his mother-in-law Princess Anne had to be changed because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the entire Royal Family is being careful to protect Queen Elizabeth, 94, and Prince Philip, 99.
He said: “With Princess Anne and her birthday there were plans we had to change but I’m sure we’ll find a way to get together as a family in the appropriate manner.
“I think from their perspective it’s all about protecting the Queen and having her bubble
“I know it’s been different for this period in terms of where normally people would move up to Balmoral and have their holiday up there, and there’s changes around that.
“It’s more about protecting one another but that’s the same for any family, wherever you are. All you’re thinking about is protecting one another and coming through the other side of this as strong as you can.”
And Mike, who hosts the podcast ‘The Good, The Bad & The Rugby’, also spoke about how he, Zara, 39 and their daughters Mia, six and Lena, two, have been coping during the global health crisis.
He said: “We’ve coped, we’re very lucky to be on a farm and have space to let the kids run wild.
“With Lena being two-years-old you get to watch her change in front of you and to be at home all the time and see that, it’s something we’ll look back at and be very, very happy about.”

‘Harry was looking out for his family’: Royal biographers discuss Sussex’s decision to quit

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry made the decision to quit as a senior royal.
The 35-year-old prince and his 39-year-old wife, Duchess Meghan, stepped down as senior members of the royal family earlier this year and moved to Los Angeles with their son Archie, 15 months, and their biographers insist the decision was led by Harry.
‘Finding Freedom’ co-writer Carolyn Durand told National Public Radio (NPR) in the United States: “Harry really was looking out for his family. His wife felt aggrieved, and they thought that the best decision that they could make was to step back, have a little bit more privacy but still be in a situation where they could carry on their mission, devote themselves to the causes that were so important to them.”
And Carolyn’s co-writer Omid Scobie says tension between Harry and his brother Prince William, 38,which developed after William advised him not to rush into getting serious with Meghan, is completely understandable.
He explained: “I think it’s one of the early stories you saw come out of this book was this conversation that took place between Harry and William where William seemingly gives sort of brotherly advice to Harry about sort of perhaps watching the speed at which his relationship with Meghan was progressing.
“And I think there’ve been some people have commented that that might have been a moment where Harry was too sensitive.
“But I think we need to really look at the overall picture here and what led up to that moment. Harry was already aware of some of the murmurings that were taking place behind his back within the royal household about Meghan.
“He’d also experienced some of his own friends speaking about Meghan or making negative remarks behind her back that word had traveled back to him about. So when William sat down and had that conversation with him, that was the starting point.”

Duchess Meghan FaceTimed pal from bath to discuss estranged father

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Meghan FaceTimed her friend from a bathtub the night before her wedding, to discuss her strained relationship with her father.
The 38-year-old royal – who tied the knot with Prince Harry, 35, on May 19, 2018 – called a close pal the night before the big day to reveal she had sent her estranged dad Thomas Markle one last text before her wedding.
According to the new book ‘Finding Freedom’, written by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, Meghan reportedly told her friend: “I can’t sit up all night just pressing send.”
The book also details conversations between Meghan and her friend, where she revealed her father had not answered the “barrage of voicemails” she left him.
According to the book, she said: “Dad, I still love you. Nothing has changed. We’re going to get you safely to London. I’m sending a car to come and get you.”
And Meghan allegedly told her friend: “My God, my phone. I’m assuming he’s getting my messages.”
Meghan hasn’t spoken to her father – who confessed to staging paparazzi photographs ahead of her nuptials – since before the wedding.
And the retired lighting director, who pulled out of attending Meghan and Harry’s wedding due to ill health, has claimed to have been “ghosted” by his daughter.
He said: “I’m not sure why it’s happening. I love my daughter very much. I wish she would reach out, send me a text, anything. There has to be a place for me. I’m her father.”
Thomas, 76, also previously claimed his daughter – whose mother, Doria Ragland, was her only relative in attendance at her wedding – has a history of “dumping” those around her.
He said: “My daughter dumped me one day before she got married, she has dumped my family, she has dumped Doria’s family, she has dumped every family and now she is dumping the British family.”
