Prince George was sheep in Christmas nativity

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince George played a sheep in his school’s nativity play.
The four-year-old royal’s father Prince William was beaming with pride when he went to watch his son in the traditional Christmas play and couldn’t wait to tell people all about it.
Speaking to school children at BBC’s Bridge House in Media City, Salford, north England about their Christmas plans, he said: “I went to my boy’s nativity play. It was funny. He was a sheep.”
It comes after the Duke of Cambridge hand delivered his son’s Christmas list to Father Christmas during a recent trip to Helsinki, Finland, after George promised he had been a good boy this year.
Prince William – who also has two-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte with his wife Duchess Catherine, who is also pregnant with the couple’s third child – said: “He hasn’t written down many requests, so I think one request is probably OK.”
The pre-formed list offered the option of writing down five gifts they would like, however George only wrote down one – a police car – before signing it off with his name.
The Kensington Palace Official Instagram account shared a picture of William meeting Santa.
The caption reads: “Prince George’s Christmas Letter! The Duke of Cambridge hand delivered a letter written by Prince George to Father Christmas at Esplanade Park in Helsinki. HRH is currently on Day 2 of #RoyalVisitFinland, which coincides in the year of the country’s 100 year anniversary of independence. (sic).”

Prince William alarmed by the impact of technology

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William is “alarmed” about the impact technology is having on young people.
The 35-year-old royal believes we have reached a “moment of reckoning with the very nature of childhood in our society” when it comes to social media sites like Facebook and Twitter and other technology on how they affect the children of the world.
Speaking at the Children’s Global Media Summit in Manchester, north England, he said: “It is the gradual nature of this change – the slow warming of the water in the pot if you like – that I believe has led us to a moment of reckoning with the very nature of childhood in our society.
“I believe strongly in the positive power of technology; but I am afraid that I find this situation alarming. My alarm does not come from childhood immersion in technology per se. My alarm comes from the fact that so many parents feel they are having to make up the rules as they go along.
“We have put the most powerful information technology in human history into the hands of our children – yet we do not yet understand its impact on adults, let alone the very young.”
It comes after Prince William’s brother Harry urged young people to “look up from their phones” and go out and “change the world”.
He said: “The thousands of you gathered here are proof that today’s generation of young people is the most connected, most energised, and most confident the planet has ever known. You know that differences of opinion, of circumstance, of race and religion – are to be respected and celebrated.
“You know that in a clickbait culture, we cannot waste time sharing and drawing attention to things that make us angry, or that we know to be false. You all know that it’s great to ‘like’ things on social media, but that it’s more important to look up from our phones, to get out into our communities, and to take real action; to stand up for what you believe in.”

Princes William and Harry to attend Star Wars premiere

OHMYGOSSIP — Princes William and Harry will attend the premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’.
The royal siblings will head to London’s Royal Albert Hall for the European premiere of the hotly-anticipated movie – which stars Mark Hamill and Adam Driver – on December 12.
A tweet on the Kensington Palace Twitter page confirmed: “The Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry will attend The European Premiere of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, at the Royal Albert Hall on December 12.
“The premiere is hosted in aid of The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. (sic)”
William, 35, and Harry, 33, are known to be huge fans of the sci-fi series and are expected to make cameos in the motion picture.
The pair are said to have starred as Stormtroopers in the film alongside actor Tom Hardy and singer Gary Barlow.
A source recently revealed the four famous faces will appear in the same scene, but because they will be wearing the iconic Stormtroopers outfits, it will be impossible for moviegoers to identify who is who.
John Boyega, who plays the role of Finn in the film franchise, said sharing a scene with the royal brothers “wrapped in Stormtroopers costumes” made for a “strange contrast of a weird family”.
He added: “It was a great experience.”
It comes after John previously admitted the pair were due to appear in the motion picture.
He said: “I think they took that scene out.
“I’ve had enough with those secrets. They came on set. They were there. I’m sick of hiding it. It think it was leaked, anyway.”
In April 2016, Daisy Ridley – who plays Rey in the movie – and her co-star Mark (Luke Skywalker) showed William and Harry around the movie set at Pinewood Studios, Buckinghamshire, south east England.

Princess Eugenie recalls musical memories for charity campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Ferguson used to sing ‘Daydream Believer’ to Princess Eugenie when she got car sick.
The 27-year-old royal has recalled her mother, the Duchess of York, would often put the classic Monkees hit on when she was feeling unwell in the back of a vehicle during long journeys to cheer her up.
Speaking in a YouTube video for the End the Silence campaign in aid of the Hope and Homes for Children charity, she said: “Growing up I used to get really car sick and we used to go on all these trips and journeys and always when we were coming to the last moment of getting there I’d be like, ‘How long until we get there?’
“Everyone in the front would be like, ‘It’s just round the corner’. Then I’d get really sick and they would turn this [‘Daydream Believer’] on and they’d say, ‘Cheer up sleepy, Jean.’
“Maybe it’s because my name is Eugenie they thought Jean?
“My mum sang it, my friends, everyone. I think people would be surprised if they heard this is my favourite song but from my childhood, this is just the dream.”
Eugenie, Noel Gallagher, Ozzy Osbourne, John Taylor, Paul Simonon, and Royal Blood are among many other stars who have been reliving the songs of their childhood for the global campaign, which aims to encourage the public to share musical memories from their childhood.
Noel’s first record was Slade’s ‘Come on Feel The Noise’, and rock legend Ozzy chose The Beatles’ ‘She Loves You’.
He said: “That song changed my life … had such an impact on me.
“When that song came on, I knew from then on what I wanted to do with my life.”
End the Silence aims to create the world’s largest online childhood musical memory collection and raise £1.5 million for children deprived of love, family and music in overseas orphanages.
Donations to End the Silence campaign will be doubled by the UK government’s UKAid Match scheme – helping 120,000 children leave African orphanages for families.
All videos are available to watch on each artist’s YouTube channel and on endthesilence.com, where musical memories can also be shared.

Matt Smith on Meghan Markle engagement: ‘I feel sorry for her’

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Smith finds it “exciting” Meghan Markle is to marry Prince Harry – but also “feels sorry” for her.
The former ‘Suits’ star is to tie the knot to the flame-haired prince in May, and while the ‘Crown’ actor admits it will be a wonderful union, he thinks it will be quite difficult to adjust to her new life as a member of the royal family.
Matt – who plays Prince Philip in the Netflix drama – said: “I feel sorry for her.
“It’s such a transition in her life, and it’s such a huge thing to take on. Life as she knows it is gone. But hey, she’s marrying the prince of Britain – how exciting for her.”
Meghan, 36, was previously married to Trevor Engelson from 2011 to 2013, and Matt’s co-star Claire Foy – who plays Queen Elizabeth – noted how her engagement to Harry would “not have been conceivable” during the period of history they are depicting on the show.
Speaking at a 92Y screening and Q&A on Monday (04.12.17), she is quoted by Vanity Fair as saying: “You realise the fact that Elizabeth forbade her sister from marrying a divorced man; it goes to show how time has changed and how they’ve had to evolve. And they really have.
“This would not have been conceivable, this would not have happened 50 years ago.
“And I think that’s why the monarchy will survive, and thrive, because it’s willing to change and listen to the people and realise that some elements of the institution are outdated and unnecessary.”
The 33-year-old actress – who has a two-year-old daughter with husband Stephen Campbell Moore – joked Meghan’s engagement had given her “hope”.
She quipped: “She’s an actress, so there’s hope for us all.”

Windsor Castle staff told to watch Suits

OHMYGOSSIP — Windsor Castle staff have been instructed to watch ‘Suits’ to get to know who some of Meghan Markle’s guests will be at her wedding to Prince Harry.
Lay Stewards at St George’s Chapel, where the couple will tie the knot in May, have been encouraged to tune into the Netflix drama – in which the 36-year-old star plays senior paralegal Rachel Zane – to learn the faces of some of her co-stars before the big day.
Hugo Vickers, Captain of the Lay Stewards, told the Daily Mail newspaper: “I’ve told the Stewards to get Netflix and watch ‘Suits’, so they know who everyone is at the wedding.”
One of the US legal drama’s stars who is likely to be invited is Patrick J. Adams, who plays Meghan’s on-screen love interest Mike Ross in the show.
Following news of Meghan and Harry’s engagement, Patrick – who is married to fellow actress Troian Bellisario – joked she had left him.
Quoting a tweet from Kensington Palace on Twitter, the 36-year-old actor said: “She said she was just going out to get some milk… (sic)”
Meghan – who has already served as a UN Ambassador – has appeared in all seven seasons of ‘Suits’ since it began in June 2011, but she has now retired from acting after getting engaged to Harry, 33, and will focus on charity work alongside her husband-to-be.
She said: “I think what’s been so exciting [transitioning] out of my career and into, as you said, the causes I can focus even more energy on, very early out of the gate, [is that you] have a voice that people listen to, a lot of responsibility.
“I see it is a new change, a new chapter.
“I’ve been working on my show seven years, we were so fortunate to have that longevity, and I feel like I checked that box and am very proud of the work I’ve done there.”

Meghan Markle recalls acting struggles

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle was told she was “not thin enough” and “not pretty enough” while trying to make it as an actress.
The former ‘Suits’ star – who has quit acting following her engagement to Prince Harry – has recalled her struggles during her attempts to forge a career in the industry, admitting that while she was often told she didn’t look a particular way, the next day she would be told the complete opposite.
She wrote: “I was in my early 20s, still figuring so much out, and trying to find my value in an industry that judges you on everything that you’re not versus everything that you are. Not thin enough, not pretty enough, not ethnic enough, while also being too thin, too ethnic, too pretty the very next day.
“It felt unapologetically impossible, and I spent my evenings eating my feelings with grilled cheese sandwiches and cheap wine.”
Meghan credits casting director April Webster – who has hired stars for the likes of ‘Star Wars’, ‘Mission: Impossible’ and ‘Lost’ – with giving her a “wake-up call” when she told the star to wear “less make-up” and just be more like herself.
In an article penned two years ago which has resurfaced, she wrote in Darling Magazine: “There was a casting director named April Webster who has basically casted everything of note from TV to film for close to two decades (think “Lost” and “Mission Impossible”). I had never met her before, and at my very first audition for her, she stopped me mid-scene and said so simply, “You need to know that you’re enough.”
“I was breathless. No one had ever seen it, or perhaps no one had ever called me out, but there in that small box of a room in Burbank, this woman I had never met saw me. My gut reaction was to smile. To smile hard. Maybe that would keep the tears tucked behind my draping eyes.
“It wouldn’t have mattered if I cried, because she saw me. She saw all that self-doubt beaming through the self-tanner and excessive blush. “You need to know that you’re enough,” she said. “Less makeup, more Meghan.” She went on to say that I was like a “shrinking violet,” wilted joy and energy and exuberance behind this shroud of insecurity. You couldn’t pay for a therapy session this good. And that moment, for me, was a wake-up call. (sic)”

OHMYGOSSIP — Tamara Ecclestone is hoping to go dog walking with Meghan Markle.
The 33-year-old model is confident she and the former ‘Suits’ star may meet up one day because they will be living close to one another once the 36-year-old actress moves into Nottingham House, Kensington Palace, permanently with Prince Harry following their May 2018 wedding.
Tamara wrote: “She’s now living with Harry in Kensington Palace, which is just a stone’s throw away from me, so hopefully we’ll meet each other and walk our dogs together.”
And the socialite – who has three-year-old daughter Sophia with husband Jay Rutland – is delighted for Meghan and Harry after they announced their engagement last week, and she believes the star’s acting background will stand her in good stead for royal life.
Writing in her guest column for Closer magazine, she said: “I’m really excited for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle after they announced their engagement last week. Who doesn’t enjoy a love story?!
“I think she’s aware of what she’s getting into thanks to her already being famous, because being part of the royal family is a difficult situation for some people to be landed in. (sic)”
Several other stars were also quick to congratulate the couple, including TV presenter Holly Willoughby.
She wrote on Instagram: “Soooo exciting… congratulations! (sic)”
Former ‘Geordie Shore’ star Vicky Pattinson was also overjoyed at the royal news.

Coat named after Meghan Markle following photocall

OHMYGOSSIP — A coat has been renamed The Meghan after Meghan Markle wore it to a photocall hours after her engagement to Prince Harry was announced last week.
Line the Label founder John Muscat has named the white wrap coat after the former ‘Suits’ star after she donned it for the occasion, but he didn’t find out she was sporting it until the pictures started appearing on news websites worldwide.
He said: “I found out when you found out – and I was having a slow morning so I was a little bit surprised as I popped out of bed.
“I was met with a lot of text messages that kept building and building.
“I’m very honoured and surprised. Obviously, I knew that I’d given her the coat but I had no expectation that she would be wearing it for that particular engagement.”
John previously gifted her the wrap coat in white, burgundy, black and blush, because he thought it matched her style perfectly.
He added: “Meghan has a style to her that’s very simple, very chic, and I think the wrap coat fits into that.
“It’s something that has been in our collection for a number of years. It’s just casual and sophisticated.”
The brand’s website crashed as fans flocked to try to buy the coat, even though it wasn’t on sale online, and John admitted it may be back in stock in March.
He added to HELLO! magazine: “The winter white is something we’re trying to get back into stores by early March.”
Meghan, 36, and Harry, 33, posed for pictures at the White Garden – a memorial spot for the royal’s late mother Princess Diana – in the grounds of Kensington Palace just hours after his father Prince Charles had announced their engagement.
The couple will tie the knot at Windsor Castle in May.

Prince Harry attends London Fire Brigade carol service

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry attended the London Fire Brigade’s Christmas Carol Service on Monday night (04.12.17).
The 33-year-old royal took part in his first solo engagement since it was confirmed he and fiancee Meghan Markle are to wed next May, as he headed to the annual event at Westminster Cathedral.
During the service, Reverend Mia Hilborn said: “We pray for the Royal Family and for the newly engaged Harry and Meghan and the joy they have brought to the country.
“We pray that you will bless their upcoming union and that you will bless all couples.”
Harry was spotted exchanging pleasantries with the London Fire Brigade’s Commissioner Dany Cotton, who had to respond to the tragic Grenfell Tower disaster earlier this year when 71 died after a London tower block went up in flames.
Dany said the prince praised “the work of firefighters”, especially after such an horrific event.
Harry also had the pleasure of meeting ‘The Great British Bake Off’ judge Mary Berry at the service.
Around 1,500 members of the LFB and their families were at the special event, which is also attended by former service members who have retired from the Brigade.

On Friday (01.12.17) they headed to Nottingham, central England, for a World Aids Day fair and to visit a youth project.
The pair looked loved-up as they greeted the crowds of people who had gathered outside the city’s Contemporary Arts Centre and they were handed presents, including chocolate, flowers and cards throughout the day.

Prince Harry predicted he’d marry a celeb

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry wanted to marry someone “already in the public eye”.
The 33-year-old royal will tie the knot to actress Meghan Markle in May, and he is reported to have predicted he would hook up with a person who would be able to handle the scrutiny which comes with being in a relationship with him.
Shortly before he met Meghan in July 2016, he reportedly told someone close to him that “only somebody who was already in the public eye would be able to understand and handle everything that goes with being with [a prince]”.
A source told The Sunday Times newspaper: “I don’t think he went out and deliberately looked for a famous actress.”
Harry – who previously dated Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas – once admitted he would try to get to know a potential girlfriend before the “massive invasion” of her privacy occurred when she became known as his partner.
He previously said: “If or when I do find a girlfriend, I will do my utmost best to ensure that me and her can get to the point where we’re actually comfortable with each other, before the massive invasion that is inevitably going to happen into her privacy.”
Harry and Meghan, 36 – who is best known for portraying Rachel Zane on the legal drama series ‘Suits’ – have been dating for around 16 months and he recently admitted he fell in love with her “incredibly quickly”.
He said: “I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly … All the stars were aligned – everything was just perfect. It was this beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life – I fell into her life.”

Matt Smith’s Prince Philip admiration

OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Smith admires Prince Philip for doing “what he wants”.
The 35-year-old actor plays the 96-year-old royal in Netflix series ‘The Crown’ – which stars Claire Foy as Queen Elizabeth – and he thinks the Duke of Edinburgh is “too cool for school” after learning so much about his life.
Speaking on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, he said: “I’d really like to meet Prince Philip. He’s an enigma. He’s too cool, he’s too cool for school.
“I’ve not been asked to meet him. That’s what I love about him – he’s done what he wants, when he wants, how he wants, with whom he wants. He hasn’t asked permission and his wife’s the queen.”
The second series of the popular drama will air from Friday (08.12.17), and Philip is set to be portrayed as an adulterer in the new episodes.
The show’s creator Peter Morgan said: “What I have to do is write a story about people at the centre of British life who are human beings.
“If you’re hoping that tries to pick holes in the royal marriage, I wouldn’t dream of it. Their marriage is a triumph by any standards.”
What’s more, ‘The Crown’ – which will also star Matthew Goode as Lord Snowdon, and Dexter’s Michael C. Hall as John F. Kennedy – is said to be poised to dedicate a future episode to Edward VIII and his dealings with the ruling power in Germany at the start of World War Two.
In particular, the episode will focus on his relationship with the Nazis after he abdicated the throne.
