Queen Latifah: Style’s a never-ending story

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Latifah believes style is a “never-ending story”.
The rapper-and-actress has lived through “many, many” different eras of fashion and she believes how someone dresses and presents themselves is very personal.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “Style is a never-ending story because I think style is a bit of a mindset…
“Style is everywhere. It’s everything. It’s emotion, it’s an attitude. But it is sort of timeless.”
The ‘Bessie’ actress is amused by the recent revival of 90s fashion.
She quipped: “Get back in those baggy jeans, oversize this and that. Things go around and come back around. It’s fun to watch it happen.”
The 54-year-old star is the new face of Good American’s latest campaign and she is a huge fan of the brand, which was created by Emma Grede and Khloe Kardashian, and likes everything from the “people who back it” to the “people who wear it”.
She added: “I’ve worn Good American for quite some time now in various projects.
“I’ve worn their jeans on ‘The Equalizer’. I’ve worn a suit of theirs at the Super Bowl, to an after party.
“I wore a denim outfit just the other day to my bodyguard’s 60th birthday. We partied all night.”
The ‘Ladies First’ hitmaker admires Good American’s size inclusivity.
She said: “This works for who I am and the women and people who I speak to.”
Meanwhile, the rapper is set to be the subject of an upcoming biopic and she’s excited to be able to tell her own story.
She said: “We’ve been talking about it for a while.
“We’ve seen a lot of people tell our stories who weren’t there and really have no idea how much more involved these stories are. It’s important to see how it all happened from people who were actively in the room,”

‘People were writing about me being a witch’: Why Stevie Nicks stopped wearing black

OHMYGOSSIP — Stevie Nicks stopped wearing black because she was tired of being described as a “witch”.
The 76-year-old singer recalled how she “freaked out” and insisted on switching up her wardrobe with pastel colours but eventually realised they weren’t the right look for her, though she’s still held on to them all.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: “I got freaked out at one point. People were writing about me being a witch, and I stopped wearing black and I made the girls stop wearing black, too. [Designer] Margi [Kent] made us all-new pale-pastel outfits; it was the Eighties. And then we all looked at each other one day and said, ‘Why are we wearing these Easter egg dresses? This is not us.’
“But I have all those outfits. That’s silk-chiffon stuff, it just never, ever goes away. That’s why they use it for sails.
“So it’s all in different storage units and cases, and it’s very cared for. Because someday it’ll go out into the world. I love going through all of it. It’s like it’s being in a magical closet, like Narnia.”
The Fleetwood Mac singer has kept hold of a number of her iconic outfits from over the years.
She said: “I just have the famous shawls, really. I have the ‘Rhiannon’ blouse with sleeves. I have a ‘Gold Dust Woman’ cape. I’ve had two of those over the last 40 years.
“I had a ‘Stand Back’ cape. I have a white cape that I wore for ‘Edge of Seventeen’ for a long time, but it’s very long. I don’t wear it much anymore. I have a long red one I love. Beautiful fabric. And the blue Bella Donna cape. It’s in perfect shape, like brand new.”
Stevie wore “nothing but” jeans for several years, but thinks they are too “age inappropriate” for her now.
Asked when she last wore jeans, she said: “A very long time ago. I wore nothing but denim jeans for a million years. I wanted to look a certain way in jeans, and when I didn’t feel like I looked that way anymore, I stopped wearing jeans. As soon as I think something starts to get age inappropriate, I stop.”

Melissa Joan Hart kept designer pieces from Clarissa Explains It All

OHMYGOSSIP — Melissa Joan Hart kept a string of designer items from ‘Clarissa Explains It All’.
The 48-year-old actress regrets not taking more clothes and accessories from the set of the beloved teen series – in which she played Clarissa Darling – and though it’s been 30 years since the show ended, she still has some of the pieces she did keep.
She told Us Weekly magazine: “I still [want Clarissa’s closet. I took all the Betsey Johnson [designs.] I still have all the Betsey Johnson!
“I never took a whole outfit. I took all the necklaces she had — all these big, long necklaces — and I hung them in my bedroom for a long time.”
But over the years, Melissa has lost “a lot” of her ‘Clarissa’ accessories and even a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award during house moves.
Meanwhile, the ‘Sabrina the Teenage Witch’ actress admitted it was a “big mistake” to get rid of her combat boots.
She said: “I should never have let mine go. Big mistake. I think that they’re just the most versatile shoe there is.
“They’re not a sneakers, they’re not cowboy boots or too uncomfortable to walk in — and they’re not a high heel, but they’re lifted for shorties like me.”
But when it comes to other returning trends, Melissa wishes crop tops hadn’t made a comeback.
She said: “At my age, can we get rid of crop tops please? Can we have some long shirts? If you’re going to offer it as a crop top, at least offer it in a long [version] as well.
“[There should be one for ]the 20 year olds and [one for] the 40 year olds.”
While Melissa – who has Mason, 18, Braydon, 16, and 12-year-old Tucker with husband Mark Wilkerson – coveted Clarissa’s wardrobe, the thing she misses most about the show are the cast and crew she worked with.
She said: “It’s so much it’s impossible to pick one thing, but I’d say it was the people.
“Being amongst the writers and the producers, and messing around with the equipment, learning how to use it all and diving into the production side of things within the wardrobe.”

Kylie Jenner is ‘always experimenting’ with her style

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner is “always experimenting” with her style.
The 27-year-old beauty mogul – who has Stormi, six, and Aire, two, with ex-partner Travis Scott – has described her signature style as “dark feminine” and admitted she is feeling her “most confident” with her looks since becoming a mom and is all about wearing outfits that make her “feel great”.
Speaking about Paris Fashion Week, she told the November issue of ELLE magazine: “I’m trying to remember how I felt the first time and just have fun with it. It’s hard to have so many iconic looks because you’re always trying to outdo the last one, but I think just remaining myself, being classic, and wearing what makes me feel great is where my head’s at right now.”
After several “quiet luxury” moments, Kylie is switching things up.
She added: “I think I’m actually going in the opposite direction. I’ve definitely had some moments of quiet luxury, as they would say, but I’m always experimenting. At the root of my authentic style, I think I’m more dark feminine.”
After launching her lucrative Kylie Cosmetics line with Lip Kits back in 2015, she turned her hand to designing clothes by starting her KHY brand in 2023 – and she wishes she did it sooner.
She recently told British Vogue: “I feel like I’ve been in full mommy mode in my early 20s, [so] just to do something more for me after I had my son …
“I’ve been way more into the fashion world and fashion week, and it’s been so much fun. I’m like, ‘Why didn’t I do this sooner?’ Every time I go to Paris things just happen. I love the fast pace. It’s a whole new world.”
Kylie added of her business ventures: “There is nothing more fun in this world than cosmetics and fashion. The Lip Kits have been around for so long.
“Ten years now, so fashion is my new baby and I am having the most fun. But they go hand in hand. Every fashion look I wear has so much to do with the glam.”
Kylie launched KHY last year and insisted she wanted to bring “creativity and quality” to her fans at an accessible price.
The range includes coats, tops and faux-leather pants, with prices ranging from $48 to $198 and Kylie recently added a swimwear line.

BLACKPINK’s Jisoo joins Tommy Hilfiger as global brand ambassador

OHMYGOSSIP — BLACKPINK’s Jisoo is the newest celebrity brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger.
The 29-year-old K-pop idol and fashion muse has modelled the brand’s new classic collection for Autumn/Winter and admits it’s a “dream come true” to work with the “New York icon” Tommy Hilfiger.
She said: “Partnering with Tommy Hilfiger feels like a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with the New York icon Tommy Hilfiger as I am walking my own path.
“This collection beautifully combines femininity with a modern sensibility, which resonates deeply with me.”
The fashion house said: “Jisoo’s very presence radiates. With her confidence, tranquility, and powerful presence in the vibrant K-pop scene, she truly stands out, showcasing her unique style.
Jisoo is the perfect ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger’s new classic collection, and we are delighted to welcome her to our Tommy family.”
The Blissoo label founder is also a fashion and beauty brand ambassador for Dior.
The ‘Whistle’ hitmaker has worked with Dior since 2019 when she was first named the Korean ambassador for their cosmetics brand, Dior Beauty.
When it comes to her personal style, Jisoo likes to have “one accent piece”.
She previously told Harper’s BAZAAR Australia: “What I pay the most attention to in styling is very similar to the vibes in this Dior collection. Rather than having everything be colourful, I like a fresh style with one accent piece. If there is a particular piece of clothing or a bag I want to wear, I’ll style around that item as the accent.”

Gwyneth Paltrow is a ‘total psycho’ when developing beauty products

OHMYGOSSIP — Gwyneth Paltrow is a “total psycho” when developing beauty products because she won’t stop until she’s come up with “something incredible”.
The 52-year-old actress has stepped away from Hollywood in recent years to focus on her wellness brand Goop – which also boasts its own fashion and beauty ranges – and she’s revealed she’s incredibly hands-on and “really inpatient” when developing new ideas for her skincare and make-up lines.
She told Vanity Fair magazine: “I’m a total psycho when it comes to product development. I will not stop until we’ve created something that’s incredible.
“I’m also really impatient, so I want to see results really quickly … The only reason to make something is if you can make something differentiated and up to my standards, which are extremely, extraordinarily high.”
Her latest launch is the Goop Beauty 3x Retinol Regenerative Serum, which uses three different “retinoids plus peptides to address deep wrinkles, rough texture, laxity and more”.
In an article posted on her brand’s website, she said of the product: “I’m in my 50s, and this addresses my sun damage, wrinkles, and even laxity. The plant peptide and botanicals discourage redness and irritation, so my skin feels amazing, too.”
In the Vanity Fair interview, Gwyneth went on to talk about her night time routine after finishing work at Goop – revealing she likes to wash off the day in a hot bath as it makes her feel ready for the evening.
She said: “There’s something very, for me, healing about taking the day off. It starts with makeup, and then I get in the bath and have salts – and I just like to sort of wash all of that down the drain, and other people’s energies and opinions and whatever happened that day.
“I definitely have a long get-ready-for-bed ritual.”

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley started wearing neutrals after becoming a mum

OHMYGOSSIP — Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stopped wearing bright colours after becoming a mum.
The 37-year-old model/actress has revealed her wardrobe totally changed after she welcomed her son Jack – her first child with partner Jason Statham – back in 2017 because she ditched stand-out shades and started wearing nothing but neutrals because she found it easier to throw an outfit together in very little time.
She told the Telegraph newspaper: “It was actually after having children that I really started to wear neutrals all the time. I think post-baby I got confused and maybe had a sort of identity crisis. With less time to get ready, the neutrals, to me, make it really easy to get dressed.”
Rosie – who is also mum to daughter Bella, two – went on to talk about getting older and admitted she’s embraces the changes as she moves towards turning 40.
She added: “As things go south and they change – which they have – I remind myself that getting old is a real privilege.
“Moving into my late 30s, I actually feel better than ever. I don’t know whether I look better than ever. But I also don’t care as much.
“I feel like I’ve learned what it truly is to feel beautiful; laughing with my family at the kitchen table. Of course, a great photoshoot does help. That’s always a nice boost to the old ego.”
Rosie previously opened up about being “time poor” since becoming a mum revealing she doesn’t have the chance to try out new products anymore and often has to sacrifice either her hair or her make-up.
She told Britain’s Vogue magazine: “When you become a parent, you become time-poor. You don’t have that time for yourself, or that ability to just go off and lock yourself in your bathroom in the middle of the day and play around with products.
“I certainly remember having a lot of that prior to my son being born. Oftentimes, I’ll have to decide: it’s 9am and I can do hair or make-up, which one is it going to be today? Usually it’s make-up because I can just throw my hair up.”

Chloe Sevigny ’embarrassed’ to admit to shoe collection size

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Sevigny is “embarrassed” to admit to how many pairs of shoes she owns.
The 49-year-old actress likes to keep her fashion purchases for as long as possible and has even held on to footwear she bought when she was a teenager.
Asked if there’s anything she has too much of but can’t get rid of, she told Sunday Times’ Style magazine: “Shoes. Too many. I’m embarrassed to say how many. I still have ones from high school.
“Because I mostly only buy second-hand or vintage shoes, if I find something new, I feel like I have to hold on to it because I don’t like this attitude where everything’s disposable.”
But the ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story’ actress thinks getting good-quality vintage pieces is growing increasingly more difficult.
She said: “Thrifting is more challenging than it ever was because there is so much disposable fashion that’s flooding those shops now.
“It takes a lot more time and effort to weave through all that garbage to find the real pieces in a good charity shop.
“The best now in Manhattan are City Opera Thrift, which supports the opera, and Vintage on 3rd Avenue in Gramercy Park. They are both very discerning.”
One of the ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ star’s first major fashion splurges was on a pair of boots.
Discussing her early splurges, she said: “When I was 18 my parents and I split the cost of a pair of Maison Margiela Tabis. They were black boots and I bought them at If in Soho, New York City. I still have them.
“And then, when I was 20 or 21, I bought my first Comme des Garçons cape sweater. Sadly I lent that one to a friend and she lost it. I felt like it was a historic piece of my fashion narrative so I am very upset that has gone, but I still remember how it fits.”
Meanwhile, Chloe called for a return to the 90s grunge aesthetic.
She said: “I wish more kids aspired to dress like Hole-era Courtney Love; I feel like that hasn’t really caught on. People seem more into the glossier, Y2K, Christina Aguilera kind of stuff — they’re not into the real punk or grunge or DIY side of the 1990s.”

Tom Daley appointed Merino wool ambassador

OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Daley has become Merino wool’s newest ambassador.
The Olympic diver – who is known for his love of knitting – is teaming up with Woolmark and will launch a collection of knit kits, complete with merino yarn and patterns on his own Made With Love platform next year.
He said in a statement: “Knitting has formed such a huge part of my everyday life, it is what grounds me, keeps me mindful and slows me down.
“Knitting with wool is the epitome of that; the soft texture and amazing natural properties allow it to temperature regulate, making it the perfect fiber for quality garments and homewares designed to last generations.”
The 30-year-old star – who has sons Robbie, six, and 18-month-old Phoenix, with husband Dustin Lance Black – loves knitting clothes for his children but previously admitted his older boy had begged him to stop.
Speaking before Phoenix was born, Tom told Prima magazine: “I love making stuff for my son Robbie.
“I’ve made him so many jumpers and cardigans.
“It has got to a point where I sometimes get the needles out and he’s like, ‘Papa, no more knitting.’
“Bu he’s been asking for a hat for a while so that’s my next project.”
And Tom wants children to learn to knit from a young age.
He said: “I can’t wait to teach Robbie to knit. He does want to but I don’t think he has the dexterity just yet.
“I’d love to get knitting to become part of the extracurricular programme.
“It’s such a good thing for kids to learn – to get them doing something with their hands, making something themselves.”
Tom hopes to persuade his husband to give more space in their home to his hobby.
He admitted: “I would love my own craft room.
“I have a yarn stash in my wardrobe and I’ve kind of taken over the kitchen table, much to my husband’s dismay.”

Lando Norris needs a stylist

OHMYGOSSIP — Lando Norris thinks he “probably” needs a stylist.
The Formula 1 ace – who is the new face of Ralph Lauren’s Polo Red campaign – admitted he feels “stress and pressure” about what he wears because drivers’ style is scrutinised much more than it used to be so he is considering hiring an expert to put his wardrobe together.
He told Rolling Stone magazine: “Sometimes it stresses you out, you know, when you’re trying to think like, ‘What do I wear? Will someone else wear it? Have I worn it before?’ and all of that kind of stuff…
“I always choose my own outfits and I probably should have a stylist or have someone to do something for me, because I probably put too much stress and pressure on myself sometimes trying to choose what outfit to wear. And I don’t think I have the best eye and knowledge of fashion and how things go together.
“But every week, basically, before I pack my bags, one of those things that I have to have in mind is, ‘What am I going to wear on Thursday?’
“It’s not something I put a lot of time and effort into because it’s of relatively low importance for me, compared to my actual job, but at the same time, it’s a little moment where we get to be ourselves as drivers, and every driver gets to kind of show themselves, their own personality and their own character.”
The 24-year-old racing driver may be fronting a Ralph Lauren campaign now but he admitted he used to think the brand was too “nice” for him.
He said: “I was never lucky enough to wear Ralph Lauren when I was growing up; it was almost like too nice for me to wear.
“But my dad, who was a businessman, would wear Ralph Lauren and buy clothes from there, and that was always something I looked forward to as a kid, like, ‘One day, I’ll be able to wear Ralph Lauren.’ I’m lucky enough that I get to be part of that family now.”

Nicki Minaj gets more ‘confident’ with her style as she gets older

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicki Minaj gets more “confident” with her style as she gets older.
The 41-year-old rap star noted that her self-esteem had increased with every passing milestone and now knows what “looks good” on her and even though she couldn’t bear to look at photos of her younger self in the past, now she embraces it.
She told Vogue: “When you turn a certain age—especially milestone ages like 30, 40, 50—your confidence as a women just grows and grows. You know what looks good on your body; You start knowing what hairstyle fits your face, what makeup fits your face. You just start understanding yourself better. And when you understand yourself better, you forgive yourself. You are able to love yourself, and you’re able to love the imperfections that you never loved before. I couldn’t look at old photos of myself before, and when I look at them now, I love them.
The ‘Barbie World’ hitmaker is mother to a four-year-old son – who is only known publicly as Papa Bear – with her husband Kenneth Petty and revealed that the little one is starting to develop a passion for fashion.
She said: “He does this thing where he wants to make sure that he’s always dressed. He thinks he’s a rock star—and he’s living that life, because we’re going on the tour bus all the time. One time, I came back from my show at two in the morning, and he was already completely dressed. He wakes up in the morning and puts on his clothes and fitted cap. I’ve never seen any kid do that!.”

Hailey Bieber hired Claudia Schiffer to help Rhode ‘transcend generations’

OHMYGOSSIP — Hailey Bieber hired Claudia Schiffer as the face of her Rhode beauty brand because she wanted her products to “transcend generations”.
The Instagram star, 27, enlisted the 54-year-old supermodel to star in an advert for her latest skincare product Barrier Butter – an intensive night time moisturising balm -and Hailey has now revealed she’s been keen to work with Claudia for a long time.
She told WWD: “I really wanted to use someone who transcended several different generations and demographics.
“When I think of Claudia, the iconicness [sic] is just immediate, plus her reach and impact on so many different age groups. She’s somebody that I’m a big, big fan of.
“I’ve been inspired by her as a model and her imagery has been on several of our Rhode mood boards since we started.”
Hailey previously scored a big hit with her Rhode Lip Case – a case for iPhones that includes a spot to hold a tube of the brand’s Peptide Lip Treatment or Tint – and the model says she’d like to come up with more innovative ideas for combining beauty and tech.
She added: “I would love to continue playing in the world of tech merch – like the lip phone cases.”
Hailey went on to insist she is aware the journey for her brand is never going to be smooth but she’s determined to forge ahead and continue her success.
She said: “Mistakes are going to happen … [there] will be bumps in the road, which are out of your control, but you need to pivot, run and work with them as they come.”
Hailey welcomed her first child – a son named Jack – with her husband Justin Bieber in August and recently revealed she has managed to maintain the same skincare regime before and during her pregnancy because it all fits “perfectly” into her new life as a mother.
She told Glamour UK: “Honestly, I do feel like my beauty routine is fairly the same as it was my whole pregnancy – and even before. Right now, my routine in the morning is basically just hydration, a little vitamin C if I remember to do it and SPF, and then it’s like I brush up my eyebrows and we’re out.
“That was kind of how I did things before and it fits perfectly into the way that life is now.”

Eva Mendes launches reading glasses line

OHMYGOSSIP — Eva Mendes has launched a range of reading glasses with eyewear company Look Optic.
The 50-year-old actress has admitted she needs to use reading glasses every day so she was keen to design a line of stylish frames and came up with the Evita line which features oversized specs in bone, maroon and tortoise, as well as sunglasses with bone or tortoise-coloured rims.
She told WWD.com: “I”m at that stage and have been where I definitely need readers [reading glasses]. I can’t lie to myself anymore, you know? … ”
Eva’s collection has a price point of between $68 to $98 and the movie star revealed she wanted to keep costs low because most people need at least two pairs of reading glasses as one pair always goes missing.
She added: “The more stylish readers [reading glasses] I was drawn towards were too expensive because I wanted more than one pair.”
Eva went on to reveal the collection was named in honour of her mother, saying: “I call them the Evita because that is a nickname of mine, but it’s really what they called my mom.
“When I was little, I just picture her being so beautiful, and she was always wearing big readers.”
She added of the collection: “I want people to be comfortable, but also to help them push their style a bit.”
The company describes Eva’s collection in a message posted on the website which states: “Designed by Eva Mendes, Evita redefines the oversized reader with its soft cat-eye and bold colour options. Perfect for making a statement, they bring style and confidence to every look.”
Fellow actress Diane Keaton has also previously designed a collection for Look Optic.

Georgia May Jagger keeps make-up to a minimum

OHMYGOSSIP — Georgia May Jagger only wears “tinted moisturiser and concealer” so her sensitive skin can “breathe”.
The 32-year-old model – daughter of Sir Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall – has revealed she likes to keep her make-up minimal because she’s spent years suffering from sensitive skin and eczema – and she would rather avoid matte formulations and give her skin a “glow” instead.
She told Goop: “I definitely do a bit of make-up if I’m going to the office. I get dry skin, so heavy matte makeup is hard for me. I’m looking more for a glow.
“I’m not a setting spray girl—pared back is better for me, just tinted moisturiser and concealer.”
Georgia went on to reveal she uses a tinted moisturiser by beauty brand RMS and adds a glow with the Westman Atelier Lit Up Highlight Stick and if she feels the need to add some colour she uses Goop Colorblur Glow Balm in Velveteen.
She added: “I like the RMS tinted moisturiser, of course, and I love the Westman Atelier stick – with it, I can sort of patch up what needs to be minimised, without having product all over my face. My skin can breathe …
“I’m loving the Goop Glow Balm in Velveteen right now. I love to keep a few different tints in my bag—a little multipurpose colour always makes you look better.”
For her day look, Georgia also uses a tinted lip balm. However, in the evenings, she likes to add a “dramatic” mascara. She added: ” At night, I go for a thicker, more dramatic look, but in the day I love a clean look.”
Georgia now has her own skincare brand called May Botanicals, and she feels very proud of the line that she’s managed to create. She previously told PEOPLE: “The range is 100 per cent natural. It’s cruelty-free and organic as well and pregnancy safe.”

Valentina Sampaio will ‘cherish’ Victoria’s Secret debut forever

OHMYGOSSIP — Valentina Sampaio will “cherish” her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut “for a lifetime”.
The 27-year-old Brazilian was the first trans model to star in a campaign for the lingerie brand when she began working with them in 2019 and on Tuesday (15.10.24), she and Alex Consani became the first two trans models to walk in the runway show after it returned following a six-year hiatus, and she hailed the event a “long-held dream come true”.
She told People magazine: “This moment is one I will cherish for a lifetime.
“Today, the Victoria’s Secret family has shown the world that being trans is just as exceptional and beautiful as anyone else on that runway. Inclusivity is crucial to the world we’re building, and I’m honored to walk with pride, love and the hope of inspiring the next generation. Thank you, Victoria’s Secret, for making a long-held dream come true.”
Valentina walked the runway in a black satin embellished bra, low-rise pants and a fishnet bejewelled mid-length skirt, accessorised with silver-studded pearl high heels and black oversized earrings, as well as a huge black and copper striped bow on her back.
The model had announced she’d been chosen for the show earlier this month.
She wrote on Instagram: “I’m over the Moon… I’M IN!!! [heart emoji] See you guys at the @victoriassecret Fashion Show 2024.(sic)”
Victoria’s Secret had promised the show would feature more diversity and inclusion than before when they announced in May it was to return.
The brand wrote on Instagram at the time: “We’ve read the comments and heard you.
“The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is BACK and will reflect who we are today, plus everything you know and love—the glamour, runway, wings, musical entertainment, and more! Stay tuned…it only gets more iconic from here.”

Ashley Graham requested more garments after being given ‘tiny little underwear’ for Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham requested more garments after she was presented with “tiny little underwear” for her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show debut.
The 36-year-old model ended up donning a sparkly bodysuit over lacy knickers teamed with a see-through robe and black wings adorned with golden flowers for her first runway appearance at the iconic fashion event – and quipped that she needed the extra cover after having three children.
The plus-sized beauty – who has two twin boys and a son with her husband Justin Ervin – told PEOPLE: “The first thing they gave me was this tiny, tiny little underwear, and I said, ‘Hello, I just had three children.
“Even though it was like two years ago, but I was like, ‘Is there any more we can put on?’ So then I got a bodysuit and I feel really sexy in it, and then when the wings came out, that’s when I was like, ‘Oh yeah, I feel like an Angel. This is hot.'”
Ashley admitted she wasn’t sure she wanted to be part of the show as the brand hasn’t always been size inclusive.
She said: “At first when they asked me to be in the show, I was a little bit hesitant because there has been a brand DNA that’s been very hard to be a part of for so many years, for so many of us, especially growing up with the brand and not always fitting in the brand and the brand not making sizes for us.
“When I talked to the head of Victoria’s Secret and they ensured me that their hope and their plan is to have extended sizes, I said, yes so that there could be more women that could see themselves represented on the runway because we did not see that during Fashion Month.”
