Duchess Meghan won’t have relationship with father Thomas Markle

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, doesn’t have an “active relationship” with her father Thomas Markle any more.
The 38-year-old royal has been publicly blasted by her father on several occasions, and sources close to the former actress – who is married to Prince Harry – have now said she won’t be letting Thomas back into her life, and doesn’t want him to meet her three-month-old son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
An insider told The Sun newspaper: “It’s a terribly sad situation but Meghan has made the very difficult decision that she doesn’t have an active relationship with her father any more.
“This was actually a decision she made some time ago and it is something she’s now coming to terms with.
“It’s obviously heart-breaking for her but she has to protect herself, her husband and her son.
“Thomas hasn’t met Harry and it’s unlikely he’ll meet Archie either.”
Meghan’s decision comes after Thomas – who hasn’t seen his daughter since before she married 34-year-old Harry in May 2018 – recently said he hoped that motherhood would have “mellowed” the former ‘Suits’ star and she’d have ended their estrangement so he could develop a relationship with his grandchild.
He said: “I would like them to send me a picture of Archie so I can frame it and put it on my wall beside the one of Meghan. Isn’t that what any grandfather would want? I’d love to know if he’s got the famous Markle nose …
“Sometimes I get the feeling people think I don’t love my daughter. I do love her very much. I would love nothing more than to put a picture of Archie in a frame and place it beside the one of Meghan …
“There was never any problem between Meghan and me until recently. I’ve stayed quiet because Meghan was pregnant with Archie but I’m speaking out now because they and their PR people are continuing to ghost me out of her life.
“Of course I’m disappointed not to see Archie. I had hoped becoming a mother would mellow Meghan and she would reach out.”
Thomas claims he hasn’t given up hope when it comes to mending the rift between them, but at the same time slammed Meghan and her spouse for their stance on climate change after coming under fire for making numerous trips on private jets this summer.
The former lighting director – who missed the couple’s wedding after having a heart attack – also accused his daughter of lying in a speech in Fiji last year, insisting that her claim she paid her own way through college wasn’t true and branded her snub to him abusive.
He fumed: “I’m sorry but that is completely untrue. I paid every penny of her tuition and I have the bank statements to prove it…
“I’m sick of the lies. I’m sick of being vilified and shut out of their lives.
“I always upheld my responsibilities as a father. Meghan’s comments about paying her way through college are offensive to me…
“No father deserves this kind of abuse when he’s been that good to his daughter. Ask anyone who knows us both. I’ve been very kind and generous to my daughter.”

Duchess of Sussex celebrated birthday at luxurious villa

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Sussex reportedly celebrated her 38th birthday at a £108,000-a-week villa in Ibiza.
The former actress – who was known as Meghan Markle prior to marrying Prince Harry in 2018 – and her husband enjoyed a six-day stay at the luxurious Sa Calma villa, which features a sea-facing pool and seven bedrooms, as well as a gym, Jacuzzi and an office.
What’s more, the residents are able to request a range of helpers, including beauticians, bartenders, nannies and masseurs.
However, the loved-up couple’s spectacular break also sparked controversy as they flew their own chef to the resort by private jet, according to the Mail on Sunday newspaper.
The decision angered environmentalists around the world and has led to accusations of hypocrisy.
Recently, Labour MP Teresa Pearce urged the royals to lead the way on climate change.
She said: “It’s up to all of us to cut our carbon emissions, and the number of flights we take a year. That is really important – and someone as high profile as that should lead by example.”
Earlier this year, meanwhile, the Duke warned of the dangers of climate change, urging the public to “take action” to lower their carbon footprint.
Speaking in March, the royal – who has a three-month-old son called Archie with his wife – explained: “Climate change is a humanitarian issue not a political one, and one where we’ve been far too slow in waking up to the issues and acting on the damaging impact our ways of living are having on the world.
“We now have the facts, the science, the technology and the ability to save not just our planet but ourselves. You don’t just sit back and wait for solutions, you take action and create them.”

Jameela Jamil missed phone call from Duchess Meghan

OHMYGOSSIP — Jameela Jamil missed three phone calls from Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, because she was cautious of answering a call from a blocked number.
The ‘Good Place’ star spoke with the Duchess as part of the September issue of British Vogue magazine which Meghan guest edited, but has admitted the royal had to call her three times before she answered, because she doesn’t usually answer the phone when the caller’s number is blocked.
Jameela explained: “She phoned me herself on my mobile phone, and I missed the call three times. They must have thought I was playing it cool, but I’m just crap at my phone.
“It was a block number so I tend to not pick up a phone number I don’t know. But I didn’t presume it was going to be the Royal Family on the bloody phone, did I.”
The 33-year-old actress ran into another road block during her chat with Meghan too, as she revealed the royal’s husband Prince Harry actually interrupted their phone call at one point.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, she added: “Then at one point the Duke, Harry, walked in during the phone call, and he said hello, and it was all very surreal. They are very kind, smart, funny people.”
Meanwhile, Jameela previously gushed over the former ‘Suits’ star – who was known as Meghan Markle before marrying Harry last year – when she described her as “warm, kind and actually very LOLs”.
She said: “I had never met her before but we chatted very openly.
“She told me how important gender equality was to her.
“She said she loved ‘The Good Place’. I then felt immediately embarrassed that she had seen me joke about her on the show.”

Prince William met with Princess Diana fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William had an emotional meeting with fans of his late mother on Monday (01.07.19).
The 37-year-old royal shocked a group of six people who had gathered outside Kensington Palace to mark what would have been Princess Diana’s 58th birthday by stepping out to shake their hands and speak with them.
One of the group, John Loughrey, told MailOnline: “William told me he knew we’d been coming here for years and thanked us for what we were doing for his mother.
“He shook my hand three times, he has a really firm shake, and I felt a beautiful feeling go through my body.”
Another well-wisher, Maria Scott, added: “We are here to honour Diana’s legacy. We are two generations down now and there are children growing up who don’t even know who she is. It’s important that we remind them and remember.
“None of us could believe it when William suddenly walked down the drive to come and thank us. He really is his mother’s son.”
William met with the group at around 6.45pm but left less than 10 minutes later after crowds started to gather, explaining the meeting was a private visit.
But before he left, he told the fans a proposed statue for his mother will be revealed “soon, very soon”.
He added: “It’s important to get it right.”
William previously admitted the death of his mother in a 1997 car crash left him with a “pain like no other pain”
He said: “I’ve thought about this a lot, and I’m trying to understand why I feel like I do, but I think when you are bereaved at a very young age, any time really, but particularly at a young age, I can resonate closely to that, you feel pain like no other pain.
“And you know that in your life it’s going to be very difficult to come across something that’s going to be even worse pain than that.
“But it also brings you so close to all those other people out there who have been bereaved.”

He told reporters: “I’m very excited to announce that Meghan and myself had a baby boy earlier this morning, a very healthy boy. Mother and baby are doing incredibly well. It’s been the most amazing experience I could ever have possibly imagined.
“How any woman does what they do is beyond comprehension, but we’re both absolutely thrilled and so grateful for all the love and support from everybody out there. It’s been amazing, so I just wanted to share this with everybody…
“I haven’t been at many births, this is definitely my first birth but it was amazing, absolutely incredible.
“I’m so incredibly proud of my wife and as every father and parent would ever say, your baby is absolutely amazing, but this little thing is absolutely to die for so I’m just over the moon.”
He also confirmed he and his wife were still deciding on a name for their son, and will announce the tot’s moniker in the coming days.
He added: “The baby’s a little bit overdue so we’ve had a little bit of time to think about it, that’s the next bit. For us we’ll be seeing you guys in probably two days time as planned.”

Duchess of Cambridge honoured by Queen Elizabeth

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Cambridge has been granted the title of Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victoria Order (GCVO) by Queen Elizabeth.
The 93-year-old monarch gave Duchess Catherine the honour on Monday (29.04.19), which was her and Prince William’s eighth wedding anniversary.
A tweet on the royal family’s official account read: “Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge has been appointed Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, for services to the Sovereign.”
The awards in the Royal Victorian Order are given personally by the queen for services to the Sovereign and Catherine has been given the highest ranking possible.
The queen is able to give out Knight or Dame Grand Cross (GCVO), Knight or Dame Commander (KCVO or DCVO), Commander (CVO), Lieutenant (LVO) and Member (MVO) and has previously bestowed them on her husband Prince Philip, sons Princes Andrew and Edward, her daughter Princess Anne, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, the wives of her sons Princes Charles and Edward.
Catherine and William’s official Twitter account marked their anniversary with a selection of pictures from their wedding day and thanked well-wishers for their kind messages.
A post read: “8 years ago today — thank you for your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!(sic)”
The 37-year-old duchess – who has children Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and Prince Louis, 12 months, with her spouse – has previously praised the queen for her “thoughtfulness” and admitted she thinks the first ever Christmas gift she gave the monarch, a jar of homemade chutney, went a “long way” in establishing their relationship.
She previously said: “[The Queen] really cares.
“I can remember being at Sandringham, for the first time, at Christmas. And I was worried what to give the Queen as her Christmas present.
“I was thinking, ‘Gosh, what should I give her?’ I thought back to what I would give my own grandparents. And I thought, ‘I’ll make her something.’ Which could have gone horribly wrong.
“But I decided to make my granny’s recipe of chutney. I was slightly worried about it, but I noticed the next day that it was on the table.
“I think such a simple gesture went such a long way for me and I’ve noticed since she’s done that on lots of occasions and I think it just shows her thoughtfulness, really, and her care in looking after everybody.”

Duke and Duchess of Sussex ‘can’t wait’ for arrival of first child

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Sussex “can’t wait” for the arrival of their first child.
The Duchess – who was known as Meghan Markle prior to marrying Prince Harry in May 2018 – is heavily pregnant, but excited about what the future holds for their family.
A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “It won’t be long now. Meghan’s really excited. Of course she’s nervous like any first-time mum but she and Harry can’t wait.”
The Duchess reportedly wants to stay at home for as long as possible when she goes into labour, although she’s aware that the hospital is the safest environment for her to be in.
The insider shared: “She’s been preparing for the birth – she wants it to be as natural as possible – and so has been practising hypno-birthing and breathing techniques with Harry.
“It’s been a huge support having her mum by her side and now she’s just getting as much rest as she can.”
The royal couple could welcome their child into the world at Frimley Park Hospital in Surrey – which is a short drive away from their home in Windsor.
The source said: “The plan has never changed, Meghan has been very clear what she wants. She is taking medical advice daily and she and Harry are very flexible and will be guided by their team.
“When she goes into labour, she wants to remain at home for as long as possible but she’s in a situation where if something did go wrong and she had to be whisked to hospital, she would be.”

Serena Williams: Duchess Meghan’s baby shower was a ‘lot of effort’

OHMYGOSSIP — Serena Williams says it took “a lot of effort” to plan Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s baby shower.
The 37-year-old tennis star has been friends with the former actress – who was known as Meghan Markle before marrying Prince Harry last year – for several years and took on the task of planning her baby shower back in February for the tot she’s expecting any day now, and has now revealed the party was a lot more pressure than she’d first thought.
Speaking to Business of Fashion, she said: “Planning something like that takes a lot of effort. I’m a perfectionist, so I’m like, ‘Let’s make it perfect.'”
Serena – who has a 19-month-old daughter of her own named Alexis Olympia – threw Meghan’s shower at The Mark Hotel, where guests were treated to a flower-arranging class and plenty of delicious food.
The sporting superstar invited the likes of Amal Clooney, Gayle King, Jessica Mulroney, Misha Nonoo, and Abigail Spencer to the event.
Meanwhile, Serena recently insisted the Duchess will make a great mother when her first child is born in the near future.
She said: “She’ll be the best mom, for sure.”
And the star even shared some of her tips on coping with parenthood for the first time, saying she had to learn to “go with the flow” and adapt to living day-to-day without too much planning to avoid causing unnecessary stress.
Serena added: “Accept mistakes and don’t expect to be perfect. We put so much pressure on ourselves.
“I had all those high expectations and what I was going to do and then I had what I was going to do.
“I was gonna recover and I was gonna be great, and this is a time that everything is not going to go as planned.
“My whole life is so planned and this is the one time where it wasn’t. You just gotta go with the flow.”

Duchess Meghan to take three months maternity leave

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, will only take three months of maternity leave after she gives birth to her first child.
The 37-year-old former actress is expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry any day now, and although she has the opportunity to take a full year away from royal duties in order to care for her tot, sources say she’s planning just three months off before she heads back to work.
Meghan – who was known as Meghan Markle before joining the royal family in May last year – finished her official royal duties six weeks ago but continues to work behind the scenes with various charities, and reportedly wants to return to public life in time for Queen Elizabeth’s official birthday in June.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Meghan has made it very clear she wants to return to work as soon as possible. She has huge amounts of energy, is extremely determined and wants to be as hands-on as possible with her charities.
“Nothing has been written into her diary just yet, as she wants to wait and see how she feels after having the baby. She’s pencilled in three months, but she’ll most likely return to public life in six weeks – on the Queen’s official birthday, Trooping the Colour, in June.
“Three months’ maternity is standard in the US for American mums – they don’t normally get the six or even 12 months women get here in the UK. So this is totally normal for Meghan.”
Prince Harry, 34, is also planning on taking paternity leave, though it isn’t known how long he plans on being away from royal duties.
Meanwhile, it was recently claimed Meghan has been “nesting” with £60 scented candles from luxury brand Diptyque in her and Harry’s new home at Frogmore Cottage.
A source said: “Meghan has really been struck with the nesting impulse in the last few weeks. She loves the candles and the cottage smells divine.”

Princess Isabella of Denmark celebrates 12th birthday

OHMYGOSSIP – Princess Isabella of Denmark, the second child of Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary, celebrates her 12th birthday today. Images have been released to mark the occasion this morning by the Royal Danish House. They were taken by her mother, Crown Princess Mary.

The three photos show the Princess outdoors, and in one image, she’s seen with the family’s beloved dog.

On 21 April 2007, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark gave birth to her and Crown Prince Frederik’s second child. In October 2005, they had a son, Prince Christian, but this time, they had a baby girl at the Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen weighing 3350 gr. A 21-gun salute was fired the next day in celebration of the birth of a new princess.

Following the tradition of the Danish Royal Family, her name was not announced until her christening on 1 July 2007 in the chapel of Fredensborg Palace. Her name was announced then as Her Royal Highness Princess Isabella Henrietta Ingrid Margrethe. Her middle name of Henrietta was given to her in memory of her late maternal grandmother. Of course, her middle name of Margrethe was in honour of her paternal grandmother, the Queen of Denmark.

Princess Isabella’s godparents were named as Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Princess Alexia of Greece and Denmark, Christian Buchwald, Peter Heering, Nadine Johnston and Marie Louise Skeel.

Her Royal Highness is third in line to the Danish throne after her father and older brother. She has two younger siblings – twins, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine. On 29 April 2008, Queen Margrethe granted the title of Countess of Monpezat to Isabella when she granted the title to all of her male-line descendants.

She attends Tranegårdsskolen in Gentofte for her education and has since August 2013. Prince Christian also attends the school. At just 12, she doesn’t complete many official duties, but she does occasionally accompany her parents to events.

She was last seen on 16 April at Marselisborg Palace on the balcony to celebrate her grandmother, Queen Margrethe’s 79th birthday.

Happy birthday, Prince Alexander of Sweden!

NordenBladet – Prince Alexander of Sweden turns three-years-old today, and a celebratory photo has been released by the Royal Court, taken by Josefine Persson. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia wrote on their Instagram, “Our beloved Alexander, a big congratulations on your 3rd birthday.”

Prince Alexander is the elder son of Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden. He holds the full title of His Royal Highness Prince Alexander of Sweden, Duke of Södermanland.

The tiny tot has already taken out some royal engagements at his young age. At Christmas this past year, he accompanied his father to accept the Christmas trees at the Royal Palace of Stockholm. Before that, he made his first official visit to his duchy, Södermanland in August of 2018. Then, Prince Alexander officially opened ‘Prince Alexander’s Viewpoint’ by pulling a green ribbon.

Alexander Erik Hubertus Bertil was born on 19 April 2016 at Danderyd Hospital in Danderyd, Sweden, at 6.25 pm local time. His birth came just over a month after the birth of his paternal cousin, Prince Oscar, who is the younger child and only son of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel. His name and duchy were announced by his grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf in a cabinet meeting two days later.

Alexander was King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia’s fifth grandchild and third grandson; he ranks fifth in line to the Swedish throne after his paternal aunt, Crown Princess Victoria, her two children (Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar) and his father. He is followed in the line of succession by his younger brother, paternal aunt, Princess Madeleine and her three children (Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas and Princess Adrienne).

Alexander was joined by a younger brother, Prince Gabriel, Duke of Dalarna, on 31 August 2017.

Duchess Meghan is ‘nesting’ as she prepares for royal baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is “nesting” in her new home as she prepares for the arrival of her first child.
The 37-year-old former actress – who was previously known as Meghan Markle – and her husband Prince Harry are set to become first time parents in the coming weeks, and it has now been reported that since moving into Frogmore Cottage earlier this month, Meghan is settling in with £60 scented candles from luxury brand Diptyque.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Meghan has really been struck with the nesting impulse in the last few weeks. She loves the candles and the cottage smells divine.”
Meghan’s nesting impulse comes after it was recently revealed she and Prince Harry, 34, have decided to keep the birth of their child private, and will announce the news to the public once they have “celebrated privately as a new family”.
A statement released from Kensington Palace read: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
The plans are a break from recent royal tradition which saw the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – Harry’s brother and sister-in-law – welcome their three children, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, three, and 12-month-old Prince Louis, at the Lindo Wing, which is the private maternity ward at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, London.
The Lindo Wing is also where the late Princess Diana and Prince Charles had both Prince William and Harry in 1982 and 1984.

Prince Harry and Meghan to keep baby’s birth ‘private’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will announce the birth of their baby once they have “celebrated privately as a new family”.
The royal couple – who are expecting their first child within weeks – recently moved into their new house in Windsor, Frogmore Cottage, where they will raise their child.
Prince Harry, 34, and Duchess Meghan, 37, have now released a statement insisting that they have made a “personal decision” to keep the “arrival” of their baby “private”.
The statement released from Kensington Palace read: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private. The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”

Luxembourg’s Grand Duke Jean hospitalised

OHMYGOSSIP – The Grand Ducal Court of Luxembourg has announced that Grand Duke Jean, 98, has been hospitalised with a pulmonary infection. The Marshall of the Court made the announcement today, adding that His Royal Highness is under observation. No further details on the Grand Duke’s health were provided.

He was last hospitalised in December 2016 with bronchitis. He spent two weeks in the hospital at that time.

His Royal Highness celebrated his 98th birthday on 5 January of this year.

His Royal Highness lost his sister, Princess Alix, earlier this year. She died at the age of 89 on 11 February 2019, and her funeral was held at the Château de Beloeil in Belgium. No cause of death was given.

Grand Duke Jean is the father of Grand Duke Henri who currently sits on the throne of Luxembourg. Jean abdicated in favour of his eldest son in October 2000. He had been on the throne for nearly 36 years at the time of the abdication.

Jean married Princess Joséphine-Charlotte of Belgium in 1953, and together, they had five children (Archduchess Marie Astrid of Austria, Grand Duke Henri, Prince Jean, Princess Margaretha of Liechtenstein, and Prince Guillaume).

Joséphine-Charlotte died at her home in 2005 after several years battling lung cancer. She was 77.

Crown Prince Frederik visits aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle

OHMYGOSSIP – This week, Crown Prince Frederik, heir apparent to the Danish throne, used the Danish Royal House’s Instagram account to show photographs of his time aboard the Danish Navy frigate, Niels Juel, currently sailing in the Mediterranean as part of the carrier group alongside the French Navy’s aircraft carrier, Charles de Gaulle.

The Crown Prince spent two days onboard the ship, during which time he was informed of the work Danish Defence does; he also saw the air options available with the fighter jets that operate from the deck of the Charles de Gaulle. Whether it is part of a NATO operation or that of a single navy, the floating airfields that are the aircraft carriers are always protected by a number of smaller frigates to ensure them a safe passage to wherever the proposed theatre of operations is, and whatever type of role that may be, including relief work or as they are in the Mediterranean, keeping an eye out for refugees in frail crafts.

Afterwards, he posted on Instagram, in part, “During my visit I have been informed about Niels Juel and Charles de Gaulle’s many tasks. In addition, I have greeted the crews and gained insight into the many complex tasks that the Danish Defence solves in this marine military operation. It has been a great experience.”

During his life, Crown Prince Frederik has served in all three branches of the Danish Armed Services. When it comes to his naval service, it is very impressive, and comments have been made as to how dashing he looked in a camouflage jacket! During his time in the Navy, he trained as a Frogman and qualified to be a member of the Danish equivalent of the US Navy Seals.

The Crown Prince enjoys his time on the water, and not just in the larger boats like the Niels Juel or Charles de Gaulle. He is also a very accomplished sailor and has competed in many regatta’s both European as well as domestic and has finished high up the leader board. He is a keen campaigner for both a healthy lifestyle as well as climate change.

King Juan Carlos undergoes surgery for skin cancer

OHMYGOSSIP – It has revealed that King Juan Carlos, 81, has undergone surgery for skin cancer on his face; the operation took place in March. The former King of Spain was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma – a very common form of skin cancer that begins in the basal cells often after being exposed to too much sun.

He appeared in public on 22 March with bruising and a bandage near his left eye, and at that time, the King said, “I had to undergo a small operation.”

The surgery is believed to have been successful in removing the cancer cells according to palace sources.

Usually, those who have had basal cell carcinoma are required to have checkups every three to six months after their operation.

The news of the surgery first came from the Spanish journalist, Pilar Eyre who revealed it in his column. The Royal House (Casa Real) has not commented on the operation.

The King has been having different health troubles over the past few years. In 2010, he had a benign tumour removed from his right lung, and two years later, he fractured his hip in three locations which required surgery. He had another hip operation in September 2013. In April of last year, he had successful surgery on his right knee at the private Sanitas La Moraleja University Clinic in Madrid.

King Juan Carlos came to the throne after the regime of dictator Fransico Franco fell in 1975 after Franco’s death. Franco had made Juan Carlos a Prince of Spain, mentoring him to continue his government once he had passed. However, when Juan Carlos became King of Spain, he brought democracy back to the country after decades of Franco’s authoritarian regime.

King Juan Carlos was on the throne from 1975 until his abdication in favour of his only son, Felipe in June 2014. His son now reigns as King Felipe VI.
