Meghan Markle tipped to become the Duchess of Sussex

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle is expected to be given the title of the Duchess of Sussex after she marries Prince Harry.
The 36-year-old star is set to marry the British royal in spring 2018 and, as is traditional in the UK, Prince Harry is expected to be handed a new title on his wedding day, with the Duke of Sussex regarded as the most likely choice.
Theoretically, alternative titles include the likes of Clarence, Connaught, Windsor, Albany, and Cumberland.
However, many of those names have an inauspicious history, meaning Sussex is now rumoured to be the favoured option.
Charles Kidd, editor of Debrett’s Peerage & Baronetage, told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “They’re quite limited in the titles that are available. The Duke of Sussex is the front-runner without any doubt.”
But in the unlikely event that Prince Harry opts to decline the offer of a title, Meghan would be known as HRH Princess Henry of Wales.
Meanwhile, during their first TV interview as a couple, Meghan revealed the details behind her engagement to the British royal.
Of the magic moment, the former ‘Suits’ actress recalled: “It was a cosy night, we were roasting chicken … and it was an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee.”
And quizzed about her response to the proposal, Meghan said: “Yes! As a matter of fact, I could barely let [Harry] finish proposing.”
Prince Harry added: “She didn’t even let me finish. She said ‘Can I say yes’. Then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger. I was like, ‘Can I give you the ring?’ It was a really nice moment. Just the two of us.”

Meghan Markle confirms her retirement from acting

OHMYGOSSIP — Meghan Markle has retired from acting following her engagement to Prince Harry.
The 36-year-old star and the British royal became engaged earlier this month and are poised to tie the knot in spring 2018, thereby bringing Meghan’s acting career – which has seen her appear in the hit American drama series ‘Suits’ – to an end.
Meghan – who is now set to focus her attention on charitable work alongside her husband-to-be – shared: “I think what’s been so exciting [transitioning] out of my career and into, as you said, the causes I can focus even more energy on, very early out of the gate, [is that you] have a voice that people listen to, a lot of responsibility.”
Meghan has already served as a UN Ambassador and previously studied international relations.
The brunette beauty has insisted that rather than dwelling on the end of her acting career, she is already looking forward to the latest “chapter” in her life with excitement.
Meghan – who recently finished shooting her final scenes for ‘Suits’ – told the BBC: “I see it is a new change, a new chapter.
“I’ve been working on my show seven years, we were so fortunate to have that longevity, and I feel like I checked that box and am very proud of the work I’ve done there.”
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has insisted that his future wife is already aware of the enormous responsibility she’s taking on.
He explained: “[There’s a] sense of responsibility from day one. I fell in love with her and she fell in love with me … but then we had to have some frank conversations for what you’re getting yourself into is a big deal and at the end of the day she chose me and I chose her, whatever we have to tackle individually or together, we will do it as a team. I think she’s capable of anything.”

Prince Harry’s romance with Meghan Markle is ‘lovely to watch’, says Paul Burrell

OHMYGOSSIP — Princess Diana’s former butler Paul Burrell thinks Prince Harry’s romance with Meghan Markle is a “lovely thing to watch unfold”.
The 33-year-old royal’s engagement to the former ‘Suits’ actress was announced on Monday (27.11.17), and Burrell has revealed he’s thrilled to see Harry and his bride-to-be so happy with life.
He reflected: “It was clearly, ‘This is love’. They adore each other and it’s a lovely, lovely thing to watch unfold. It’s not going to be easy for them.
“Who’d have thought an American, divorcee, Catholic would have married a Prince of the United Kingdom?”
Despite this, Burrell has no doubts about the longevity of their romance because he believes that at 36 years of age, Meghan is now aware of what she wants from life.
The former butler also drew a parallel between the American beauty and the late Princess Diana, who died in a car accident in Paris, France, in 1997.
He told ITV’s ‘Lorraine’: “She’s 36, isn’t she? A mature young woman. Have you considered the fact that she’s 36 years old Exactly the same age Princess Diana was when she died …
“She’s a mature young woman who knows her own mind. She knows her way forward.”
Meghan’s engagement ring features two diamonds from Diana’s personal collection.
And Burrell believes Harry would have discussed the design of the ring with his older brother, Prince William.
He said: “William must have said to Harry, ‘What would you like to give to Meghan? Something of Mummy’s, because that’s right and that’s what Mummy would want.’ And that’s true. She would.
“That ring on [Meghan’s] finger will always remind her of the legacy which she’s married into.”
Burrell also predicted Meghan will form a strong friendship with Prince William’s wife, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Of the two women, he added: “I think they’ll be as thick as thieves.”

Meghan Markle and Princess Diana would have been as ‘thick as thieves’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry thinks his late mother Princess Diana would have approved of Meghan Markle.
The 33-year-old British royal got engaged to the ‘Suits’ actress earlier this month after 16 months of dating and the prince believes his beloved parent – who died in a car accident in Paris, France, in 1997 – would have been as “thick as thieves”.
Asked what his mother would have made of his bride-to-be, Harry replied: “Oh they’d be thick as thieves, without question.”
The former soldier admitted he felt his mother’s absence especially keenly during the landmark moments in his life, like the announcement of his engagement to Meghan, 36.
But Harry explained that because the brunette beauty’s engagement ring features two stones from his mother’s collection, he can still feel Diana’s presence.
Speaking to the BBC, Harry explained: “I think she would be over the moon, jumping up and down, you know so excited for me, but then, as I said, would have probably been best friends with Meghan.
“It is days like today when I really miss having her around and miss being able to share the happy news.
“But you know with the ring and with everything else that’s going on I’m sure she …”
But before the royal could complete his sentence, Meghan said: “She’s with us.”
Harry – who is poised to marry the former ‘Suits’ star in the spring of next year – also believes his mother would have struggled to have contained her excitement at the announcement.
He said: “I’m sure she’s with us, jumping up and down somewhere else.”
News of the couple’s engagement was announced by Prince Charles, Harry’s father, on Monday (27.11.17).
Following the announcement – which had been rumoured for months – the high-profile duo appeared at a photo call at Kensington Palace, in the White Garden, which is dedicated to Diana.

Queen Elizabeth’s Corgis have warmed to Meghan Markle

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth’s Corgis have already taken a liking to Meghan Markle.
The former ‘Suits’ actress got engaged to Prince Harry earlier this month and the loved-up duo have revealed how the Queen’s beloved dogs have already warmed to Meghan, following a recent meeting with the British monarch.
During an interview with the BBC, Harry told his wife-to-be: “The Corgis took to you straight away. I’ve spent the last 33 years being barked at; this one walks in, absolutely nothing.”
Meghan recalled meeting the Queen and her iconic pets with fondness.
The American star explained: “That’s true. Just laying on my feet during tea, it was very sweet.”
The couple are poised to wed in the spring of 2018 and are set to live together at Nottingham Cottage in the grounds of Kensington Palace.
Meghan has revealed that one of her beloved dogs will be joining her in London, while her other pet will be staying with some of her friends on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
The brunette beauty shared: “I have two dogs that I’ve had for quite a long time, both my rescue pups.
“One is now staying with very close friends and my other little guy is – yes he’s in the UK. He’s been here for a while.”
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has admitted he fell in love with Meghan “incredibly quickly”.
The flame-haired royal has disputed the suggestion that the duo – who started dating in mid-2016 – have moved too quickly, but he admitted to being enchanted by Meghan from the outset.
He explained: “I fell in love with Meghan so incredibly quickly … All the stars were aligned – everything was just perfect. It was this beautiful woman just sort of literally tripped and fell into my life – I fell into her life.”

And Meghan, 36, gushed she was “so happy” as she showed off her stunning three-stone diamond ring and held onto her new fiance’s arm.
The 33-year-old royal – who previously dates the likes of Chelsy Davy and Cressida Bonas and was romantically linked to singers Mollie King and Ellie Goulding, actress Jenna Coleman and presenter Caroline Flack – admitted he knew Meghan was the one as soon as they met 16 months ago.
Speaking to reporters at a photocall in the grounds of London’s Kensington Palace, Harry was asked when he knew Meghan was the one, and said: “From the very first time we met.”
But Harry refused to say how he popped the question.
He replied: “That will come later.”
But asked if it was romantic, he said: “Of course it was.”
The couple posed for pictures just a few hours after their engagement was formally announced by Harry’s father, Prince Charles.
An official statement read: “His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales, is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince Harry to Ms. Meghan Markle.
“The wedding will take place in Spring 2018. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to marry in May?

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to tie the knot in May.
The couple’s engagement was announced by the 33-year-old royal’s father Prince Charles earlier today (27.11.17), and after it was confirmed the pair will marry in spring 2018, punters have been piling into bets on May being the month they tie the knot.
Online bookies Betfair have made May the clear favourite for the pair – who have been dating for 16 months – to get hitched at odds-on ahead of March and April.
It would mean they have a bit more time to plan their forthcoming nuptials after Harry popped the question to Meghan, 36, earlier this month.
Katie Baylis, Betfair Spokesperson, said: “It’s the announcement the world has been eagerly awaiting and after some intense speculation over the last few days, the couple have now confirmed their engagement and a Spring wedding.
“May is the favourite at 2/5, with April or May both at 10/3 but with the Duchess of Cambridge due to give birth in April you would expect they would wait until after the baby is born.”
While it has not been confirmed where Harry and ‘Suits’ star Meghan will tie the knot, Westminster Abbey – where his brother Prince William married Duchess Catherine in April 2011 – is expected to be the preferred destination.
Katie added: “Westminster Abbey is the 1/12 favourite for the venue of the wedding, ahead of Windsor Castle at 2/1 and St Pauls, where his parents were married, at 5/1.”
William and Catherine – who have son Prince George, four, and two-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte – were delighted to hear the news after growing close to Meghan over the last 16 months.
They said in a statement: “We are very excited for Harry and Meghan. It has been wonderful getting to know Meghan and to see how happy she and Harry are together.”

Prince Harry designed Meghan Markle’s engagement ring

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry designed Meghan Markle’s engagement ring.
The ‘Suits’ actress showed off her stunning three-stone band when she and her new fiance posed for pictures at the White Garden – a memorial spot for the royal’s late mother Princess Diana – in the grounds of Kensington Palace on Monday (27.11.17) afternoon, a few hours after it was announced they are to marry next spring.
Harry, 33, designed the ring himself and it features a gold band bearing two diamonds taken from his beloved mother’s personal collection either side of a larger central stone from Botswana, which is where the couple enjoyed a safari holiday in September.
The ring was made by Cleave and Company, Court Jewellers and Medallists to Her Majesty The Queen.
The sunken garden where the couple posed for pictures holds special significance for Harry as it was renamed the White Garden earlier this year to honour his beloved mother on the anniversary of her death in a Paris car accident.
The White Garden was planted at the Palace, Diana’s former home, and Harry and his brother Prince William planted white roses in tribute to their parent.
The photocall comes a few hours before Harry and Meghan – who have been together for 16 months – will sit down for their first interview together, with the chat airing on TV on Monday evening.

Meghan Markle ring ‘to feature Diana gems’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry has reportedly commissioned an engagement ring made using gems from some of his late mother’s jewellery.
Clarence House announced earlier today (27.11.17) that the flame-haired prince and his fiancee Meghan Markle have got engaged, and he is said to have designed the band based on part of a broach owned by his late mum, Princess Diana, who died in August 1997.
The ‘Suits’ star is expected to move in with Harry at his home, Nottingham Cottage, which is in the grounds of Kensington Palace, London.
An insider told Us Weekly magazine: “There are no plans for them to live separately. Meghan will move right in.”

Prince Harry engagement announcement ‘any day now’

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expected to announce their engagement “any day now”.
The news was expected to be announced by Kensington Palace last Thursday (23.11.17) with a congratulatory statement said to have been prepared for Prime Minister Theresa May, and while the news was not revealed, it is expected imminently.
A Government source told the Sunday Express newspaper: “Everyone was expecting the announcement to go out at 11am on Thursday.
“We think the Palace got spooked by phone calls from various media outlets. The statement was being prepared on behalf of the Prime Minister.
“It’s now being considered a case of any day now.”
Last week, the ‘Suits’ star was spotted being accompanied by bodyguards from the Metropolitan Police’s Protection Command.
It is said to be another hint that she and Harry could be engaged after his brother Prince William’s wife Duchess Catherine was only assigned police protection after he popped the question in Kenya, a month before their official November 2010 announcement was made.
TV crews from around the world began gathering at Kensington Palace last night (27.11.17) ahead of a potential announcement.
What’s more, Royal insiders told the publication that staff have been informed the pair’s engagement news would be a case of “when, not if”, and it is said the plan is to make such an announcement prior to Christmas.
Last week, Harry, 33, and Meghan, 36 – who have been dating for 16 months – were said to be gearing up to ask the Archbishop of Canterbury for his blessing for a church wedding.

Changing of the Guard performed by sailors for 1st time

OHMYGOSSIP — Royal Navy sailors performed the Changing of the Guard ceremony for the first time in its 357-year history.
Onlookers gathered in their thousands to watch on as 86 sailors performed the routine – in which one team of guards takes over from another in a colourful spectacle – to mark 2017 as the Year of the Navy.
Eddie Wearing, the warrant officer 1st Class, said: “It’s daunting, but I’m very excited. To be the conducting warrant officer for the first mount ever in the Royal Navy is a massive privilege and an honour to do. I’m really looking forward to it.”
During the routine, the sailors marched through the famous Buckingham Palace gates while the ‘Game of Thrones’ tune played out.
The ceremony is usually carried out by Foot Guards from the Army’s Household Division regiments, but the sailors underwent training for a month at the navy’s headquarters in Portsmouth, southern England, to ensure they had the routine spot on.
As well as celebrating the Year of the Navy, the sailors were also paying tribute to a number of additional ships in its fleet, including the HMS Queen Elizabeth.
The Changing of the Guard has been taking place since the restoration of King Charles II in 1660.
The traditional Guards consist of five infantry regiments – the Grenadier, Coldstream, Scots, Irish and Welsh Guards – and two regiments of the Household Cavalry – the Life Guards and Blues and Royals.

Prince Harry to ask Archbishop of Canterbury for wedding blessing

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are set to ask the Archbishop of Canterbury for his blessing for a church wedding.
The couple have been dating for over 16 months and it’s believed an engagement announcement is “imminent”, but it’s thought the flame-haired prince wants to make sure they’d be able to tie the knot in Westminster Abbey – where his brother Prince William married his wife Duchess Catherine in 2011 – before they make their news public.
Their wedding venue is dependent on rules and regulations as Meghan, 36, was previously married to TV producer Trevor Engelson and is of a Jewish faith, but officials at the Abbey have said the couple can get hitched there but they will need a marriage licence from the Archbishop’s faculty office before they can walk down the aisle and tie the knot.
A spokesman for Westminster Abbey said previously: “The Abbey follows the General Synod Ruling of 2002. Since then it has been possible for divorced people to be married in the Church of England.”
However, the couple have plenty of options if they decide they don’t want to exchange vows at the Abbey as they’re reportedly been given the go-ahead to wed at St Paul’s Cathedral – just like Harry’s parents Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana did in 1981.
However, the flame-haired prince – who is currently fifth-in-line to the throne – will need permission from his grandmother Queen Elizabeth to marry the brunette beauty – but it looks like she’s already won her over.
One source said of the meeting last month: “The couple arrived in time for tea at around 5pm. It is the queen’s favourite part of the day and she loves it when her grandchildren are able to join her.
“She normally sits for half an hour eating from a selection of sandwiches, fruit or plain scones and cake. It is served with her own blend of Darjeeling and Assam tea, known as Queen Mary’s blend.”

Duchess Catherine went off-road driving

OHMYGOSSIP — Duchess Catherine went off-road driving with her husband Prince William earlier this week.
The 35-year-old royal may be around four months pregnant with her third child but she’s not letting it stop her from having fun as she was seen having the time of her life as she and her spouse went for a wild ride during a visit to the Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull Manufacturing Plant in Birmingham, England, on Wednesday (22.11.17).
The couple – who also have four-year-old son Prince George and two-year-old daughter Princess Charlotte together – took it in turns to have a go behind the wheel but the brunette beauty looked particularly happy when it was her turn to unleash her carefree wild side.
Meanwhile, William, 35, has decided to put his love for motorbikes “on the back-burner” because he’s a father now and he needs to put his little ones first.
The prince honoured triple World Superbike champion Jonathan Rea with an MBE on Tuesday (21.11.17) when he told the star about his passion for motorbikes.
Speaking about William, Jonathan told the Express.co.uk: “I know he’s a bit of a motorcycle fan himself. We talked about his bikes and the fact that he has put it on the back-burner a little bit because of his children now.”
Along with his 33-year-old brother Prince Harry, William has been a keen biker from a young age, and had previously been known to own bikes including a 1199cc Ducati.
In 2008, the royal brothers took part in a motorcycle rally across Africa to raise money for a variety of charities including Sentebale, which was jointly founded by Prince Harry.
