Lady Colin Campbell knew something was ‘awry’ with marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Colin Campbell knew something was “awry” with her marriage just hours after she tied the knot.
The 69-year-old writer tied the knot with Lord Colin Ivar Campbell in 1974 but just moments after they said ‘I do’, Lady C felt something was wrong “because he was the only man she had ever met who didn’t leap on her”.
Speaking about her “disastrous” marriage to Lord Colin Ivar Campbell, she said: “Within five days. We married in the morning and by the afternoon I realised that something was awry because he was the only man I had ever met who didn’t leap on me. I mean up until then I was used to having to fight them off. I think he only married me for my money.”
Lady C joined ‘Celebrity First Dates’ to find love and was looking for a man, not a mouse.
Explaining her ideal man on the dating show, she shared: “He has to be a man, I don’t like mice . He doesn’t have to be upper class but he has to be able to fit into the upper class world. But I don’t think he exists.”
And on the show, the former ‘I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here’ star hit it off with her date with Matthew, and the pair ended up having tea in her castle.

Claudia Kim says backlash over Fantastic Beasts casting was ‘unexpected’

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Kim admits the backlash over her casting in ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’ was “unexpected”.
The South Korean actress has been cast as Nagini – a cursed woman who is transformed into a snake – in the upcoming movie, but the announcement was criticised by some fans, who felt uneasy about an Asian woman playing the pet of a white man.
She said, according to Allkpop: “It was unexpected. When I found out that I’m playing Nagini, I thought it was meaningful because it’s an important character in the ‘Harry Potter’ series.
“‘Harry Potter’ is a franchise film with many caucasian actors, so I thought many Korean viewers would be happy.”
Claudia, 33, has urged fans of the franchise to wait to watch the film before making their judgement.
She said: “I’m looking forward to viewers being satisfied and the controversy fading away once the film premieres.
“I don’t perceive such controversy solely in a negative way. I believe changes can be made by giving attention to an Asian’s promotions (like this) and through the people that look into such issues.
“I think Nagini should’ve been played by an Asian. J.K. Rowling probably searched for an Asian actress because she researched the origin of Nagini. I’m not sure if it’s just my pride, but I think I was able to bring out a different vibe as a Korean in Hollywood where there are many Korean Americans.
“The scriptwriter is good at giving a twist to a story. She’s able to bring out a new side through an unexpected character.
“Also, this film was directed by director David Yates who has taken charge of the’ Harry Potter’ series multiple times. He’s knowledgeable about the original series as much as the writer so I followed him with trust.”

Rami Malek celebrated with tequila shot after landing role

OHMYGOSSIP — Rami Malek had a “shot of tequila” after landing the iconic role of Freddie Mercury in ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
The 37-year-old actor – who plays the late singer in the Bryan Singer-directed drama – has revealed he needed to calm his nerves with an alcoholic “shot” when he auditioned for the part in front of Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor.
Speaking to Mr Porter, Rami said: “We had a glass of wine and shot the s**t, and I could see them looking me up and down
“Then they’re like, ‘Well, maybe we should watch this video [of his performance audition]?’ I thought they’d seen it already! So they’re watching it on a laptop, and I’m standing there with them with my heart just beating out of my chest.”
Rami confessed that the Queen guitarist thought his resemblance to the ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ frontman was “uncanny” and explained to him what the singer was really like in person.
Rami added: “Brian May was really sweet. I think he was taken aback. He used the word ‘uncanny’. We went to Roger’s bar in the house and had a shot of tequila. That’s when I thought, ‘OK, I have this part.’ They talk about his kindness, how collaborative he was, and how much of a peacemaker when Roger and Brian got into squabbles. They said he was reserved at times, but on other days very bombastic. Childlike, too. But it’s also the way they speak about him. There’s real reverence.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B says she “always addresses people face-to-face”.
The ‘I Like It’ hitmaker insists none of her music will directly reference her feud with Nicki Minaj or any other fall outs she may have as prefers to talk about people to their face.
Speaking to Ebro Darden on his Beats 1 show on Apple Music, she said: “The way that I came up, it was never about dissing nobody, and I still feel like I don’t need to diss anybody for nothing. My music was never about that. I have a short temper, so that’s like doing things that I don’t stand for. I don’t like when people be subbing me. So, why would I subbing you on music? Any problem I have, I always address people face-to-face.”
Meanwhile, Cardi previously quipped that she thinks Nicki’s fans “love” her.

So clearly, that seems like love to me, seems like you love me, so it’s like, ‘F**k it.’ I can’t retract it, I might as well put it out … For a while now she’s been taking a lot of shots at me. The 32-year-old supermodel has 19-month-old daughter Lea De Seine Shayk Cooper with her boyfriend and actor Bradley Cooper, 43, and has said that although she’s busy being a mom, she still has time to continue to grow her thriving modelling career, as she thinks there’s always room for “passion”.
Asked how she juggles her work and home lives, the Russian beauty said: “If you love to do something you can manage. You can manage your time, you can manage your passion.”
Irina says it’s important to “remember who you are” and take the time to “manage everything”, as she notes that we now live in a time where women have the “freedom” to continue to work whilst also being mothers.
Speaking to E! News, she said: “I think now a woman has the freedom to work and to be a mom and to be herself. I think it’s really important to remember that a woman is the strongest one and that if we want we can manage everything at the same time.

Emma Stone’s corset struggle

OHMYGOSSIP — Emma Stone says her “organs shifted” after wearing a corset for a month.
The 29-year-old actress has to wear the restrictive piece of clothing for her role in historical movie ‘The Favourite’, and has said she has a newfound sympathy for the women of the past who had to wear corsets every day, as she was left unable to breathe after just 30 days.
Speaking during an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ – which airs on Friday (26.10.18) – Emma said: “Women existed like that for such a long time, which gives you a lot of sympathy for that time period and what they were going through. For the first month, I couldn’t breathe and I would smell menthol and it would make me think I was in a wide-open space and could breathe for a moment in time.
“After a month, all my organs shifted – it was gross and if you don’t have to, don’t do it!”
The ‘La La Land’ star isn’t the only one to have a gruesome corset story to tell either, as Dakota Fanning claimed in July that after wearing the item for seven months whilst filming TV show ‘The Alienist’, her body “completely changed”.
She said: “Seven months; your body completely changes. You can get [the corset] on without even lacing or unlacing. By the end I was just snapping it on, snapping it off. It was like second nature.”
Meanwhile, Emma – who stars as Baroness Abigail Masham in ‘The Favourite’ – recently revealed she was left “shocked” by the history of the British royals during her research for the role.
The movie centres on the court of Queen Anne (played by Olivia Coleman) in the early 18th century as Abigail and her Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough, played by Rachel Weisz, as they engage in a bitter rivalry to become court favourites.
And Emma couldn’t believe how “violent and sexual” royal history can be.
She said: “[We were] mutually shocked. Your royal history wasn’t so picture perfect! Henry VIII beheaded his wives. And there were certainly things going on during other reigns that were violent and sexual.”

Barbra Streisand and James Brolin’s star-crossed romance

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbra Streisand’s romance with James Brolin was written in the stars, according to the ‘Life in Pieces’ actor.
The 78-year-old actor married the ‘Evergreen’ hitmaker in 1998, and has said that whilst he doesn’t particularly believe in astrology, he says their zodiac signs – Cancer for James and Taurus for Barbra – contribute toward making them a “great team”.
He said: “If you look at Cancer and Taurus – not that I’m into astrology, but I’ll click on that if I’m on the computer – almost every time, it says, ‘You guys are magic together. You’re so opposite that you’re able to work it out.’ And that’s what a makes a great team.
“I think we’re both very opposite and very good negotiators. She sees a colour that’s one shade and I say, ‘No, it’s another colour.’ And then we are able to negotiate around it.”
The ‘Hotel’ star and his spouse, 76, both have incredibly hectic schedules which can make alone time difficult, but James says they’re both dedicated to finding ways to make it home to one another.
Speaking to Fox News, he said: “We both long to come home to see each other and yet we both love to be in the mix of things at our age. We should be retired and on rocking chairs. But she is so intent on what she’s doing. As for me, I’m busy all the time. But we come home to each other. The evenings we’re always together. The days are just us running and holding our pants up.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Amityville Horror’ actor – who is the father of 50-year-old actor Josh Brolin, as well as daughters 46-year-old Jess and 31-year-old Molly – previously credited marriage counselling with helping he and Barbra stay together.
He said: “I do believe in counselling if anybody ever has a problem in their marriage. Bring in a referee, talk it over, and I swear to you, it will dispel by the end of the session, each time!
“Sometimes in a tough marriage, it’s tough to talk, but if you do, it works!”

Laverne Cox thought she’d ‘never be accepted’ as a woman

OHMYGOSSIP — Laverne Cox almost took her own life 17 years ago after feeling as though she would “never be accepted” as a woman.
The 46-year-old transgender actress has revealed she once got to a point where she felt so “harassed” on a daily basis that she contemplated taking her own life in order to stop the bullies who made her feel “less than human”.
She said: “The world made me feel like I would never be accepted, never live without being harassed and less than human.
“I was living in New York City, and every day that I left the house I had to arm myself. Not literally, but emotionally. Because I knew that when I left the house, I was probably going to be harassed. I knew the second I left that people would mis-gender me, call me a man, that the second I walked into the subway I wouldn’t feel safe, when I walked into the bodega I would be pointed at and laughed at, and treated as if I were not human.”
The ‘Orange is the New Black’ star – who was the first openly transgender actress to be nominated for an Emmy – even went as far as writing out her suicide note, where she made sure to include her name and preferred pronouns so that she wouldn’t be “mis-gendered in her death”.
She added: “One day I sat down and I typed up notes, and the notes said, ‘My name is Laverne Cox and I should not be referred to by any other name. My preferred pronouns are ‘she’ and ‘her’, and I shouldn’t be referred to as any other pronouns.’ And I made about five copies and had a copy in each of my pockets and placed them around my apartment because I was planning to commit suicide.
“I was planning to kill myself. I wanted to make sure that I would not be mis-gendered in my death. I wanted to be sure that I would not be dead-named in my death. That the disregard for my identity on a daily basis would not happen when I was dead.”
Laverne now says she isn’t sure why she never went through with her plan, but is “so grateful” to still be alive today.
Speaking in Boston on Wednesday (24.10.18) at a rally to help prevent the overturning of the 2016 law to protect transgender people from discrimination, the actress said: “I am not entirely sure why I didn’t commit suicide when I was thinking about doing it 17 years ago … and I am so grateful that I decided not to try to take my life. I’m so grateful that I survived. I have come to understand that I am here for a divine purpose and I want every trans person to know that you are here for a divine purpose no matter what anyone says to you.”

Dame Helen Mirren doesn’t ‘care much’ for the royals – except the Queen

OHMYGOSSIP — Dame Helen Mirren doesn’t “care that much” about the royals – but loves Queen Elizabeth II.
The 73-year-old actress is often hailed for her portrayal of the 92-year-old monarch in 2006 film ‘The Queen’, but has said that whilst she is a fan of the royal, she would call herself a “queenist” rather than a “royalist”, because she doesn’t care about the rest of the royal family.
Speaking to the new issue of Harper’s Bazaar, she said: “I don’t care that much, though I do watch [Netflix series] ‘The Crown’. I just think it’s beautifully realised… In her old age, [the queen] has that indomitable spirit. I love her. I’m not a royalist; I’m a queenist.”
Helen’s comments come after she recently dismissed the idea of taking on the royal of the monarch for a second time, as she worries people will think she and the Queen are the same person.
The ‘Winchester’ actress – who has also played King George III’s wife Queen Charlotte in 1994 movie ‘The Madness of King George’ – said: “I wanted to kind of get away from that. I like to move forward, not back. It’s wonderful that I [portrayed Queen Elizabeth twice], it was wonderful that it was a success, but I didn’t want a headline when I’m knocked over by a bus to read ‘The Queen Knocked Over by Bus.'”
And although she’s given up playing the royal, she says she loved Claire Foy’s work in the role on Netflix period drama ‘The Crown’.
She added: “I think the show is incredibly accurate. I think Claire Foy was brilliant. I sent her an email congratulating her. It was fantastic.”
Meanwhile, model turned actress Cara Delevingne also recently voiced her support for the British monarch, as she said she’d love to have a girl-to-girl chat with her.
She said: “I love her so much. There are many things I need to ask her, but I wouldn’t be allowed.”

Selma Blair’s old DNA test pointed to MS diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Selma Blair says a DNA test she took a few years ago hinted at her eventual multiple sclerosis diagnosis.
The 46-year-old actress learned in August that she has the disease – known as MS – but has revealed that a genetics test she took from 23andMe a couple of years ago had hinted at her condition, as it had come back positive for indicators of MS in her DNA.
Posting the results of the test on Instagram, Selma wrote: “Only a few will probably care or understand this… but a couple of years ago, I ran my genetic mutations through @23andme . but a genetic counselor may be the way to go…This may help somebody help themselves. I have #MTHFR genetic mutation on both sides. As well as a couple of others.
“#MTHFR shows a higher susceptibility to MS. Toxins build up more. B vitamins need to be methylated. Folate too. Or more toxicity can build up blocking pathways which increase autoimmune disease. I will research and explore.”
The ‘Legally Blonde’ actress then said she may be able to ease her symptoms by using “detox” methods, and revealed her seven-year-old son Arthur – whom she has with ex Jason Bleick – is also battling MS.
She added: “My dearest angel @drsuemccreadie has reminded me of this correlation. And there are possibilities to ease my symptoms with the right detox to open methylation pathways. Hey. #knowledgeispower right? So many oddities of mine can be traced back to active mthfr toxicity. My son has it too. So you can’t start too early. Love, Dr. Blair #MS #drsuemcreadie #sharingnotdiagnosing (sic)”
Selma revealed her diagnosis earlier this month in a lengthy post on social media which explained how the condition causes her to “fall” and “drop things”.
She wrote: “I was in this wardrobe fitting two days ago. And I am in the deepest gratitude. So profound, it is, I have decided to share. The brilliant costumer #Allisaswanson not only designs the pieces #harperglass will wear on this new #Netflix show , but she carefully gets my legs in my pants, pulls my tops over my head, buttons my coats and offers her shoulder to steady myself.
“I have #multiplesclerosis . I am in an exacerbation. By the grace of the lord, and will power and the understanding producers at Netflix , I have a job. A wonderful job. I am disabled. I fall sometimes. I drop things. My memory is foggy. And my left side is asking for directions from a broken gps. But we are doing it . And I laugh and I don’t know exactly what I will do precisely but I will do my best. (sic)”
MS affects the brain and spinal chord as the body mistakes myelin – which is supposed to protect the nerve fibres in the central nervous system – for a foreign body and attacks it.

Janelle Monae: I want people to ‘feel comfortable’ with their sexuality

OHMYGOSSIP — Janelle Monae hopes to help people “feel more comfortable” with themselves after coming out as pansexual.
The 32-year-old singer and actress revealed earlier this year that she identifies as pansexual – a term usually used to characterise a person whose sexual preference is not limited by biological sex, gender, or gender identity – and now says she hopes other people can now “walk in their truths” after being inspired by her coming out story.
Speaking about her experience with coming out, she said: “It’s been beautiful. I think that it’s been a very warm and loving time for all of us who are walking in our truths. And I’ve always hoped, by sharing my stories that people will feel more comfortable walking in their truths. And feel like it’s not a heavy burden, you know, that you do have support.”
The ‘Make Me Feel’ singer has a strong support system in her large family, and says she’ll be using the upcoming holiday season to spend quality time with her loved ones.
Speaking to People magazine, she added: “I’m gonna get some rest. I told my mom, I told my aunts, I told my sister, I was like, I have to get some rest when I come back. All I want do is just smile, and eat food, and give hugs.”
Meanwhile, Janelle recently said she hopes to encourage other women to be “empowered” about their own sexuality through coming out.
She said: “It’s a conversation that I want to have with us as a society, as human beings, about what it means to tell somebody that the way they’re programmed – their existence – whether they’re queer, LGBTQ, IA (intersex or asexual), in that community – whether they are minorities, whether they’re bugs or viruses, whether being a woman, whether being poor, makes you have bugs and viruses. What is it like to live in a society that is constantly trying to cleanse you, and tell you that you need to conform, you need to be reprogrammed … deprogrammed? And so I just wanted to talk about my own bugs and viruses, and how I’m choosing to deal with it.
“I just feel like my sexuality, my women’s desires are one with God, it’s all one it’s all a beautiful thing, and I just hope that women feel more free, feel more empowered. I do.”

Olivia Munn cuts ‘toxic people’ out of her life

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Munn is learning how to cut “toxic people” out of her life.
The 38-year-old actress split wit NFL star Aaron Rodgers in April last year after his younger brother’s appearance on ‘The Bachelorette’ brought to light tensions in the Rodgers family, and has said that following on from the break up a year and a half ago, she’s started to focus on keeping things positive.
Speaking to ‘Entertainment Tonight’, she said: “It’s a lesson I think you’re always learning, but I think this year I really applied it, over the last year and a half, of just like, negative, toxic people just don’t have a place in your life.
“So, if you’re around someone that’s always making you feel bad, you know, you don’t need them in your life.
“Anything that’s toxic, whether it’s a person or a situation, anything that’s going to add any kind of negativity to your life in a long-term way, just should be out of life. Whether it’s a person, an experience or a job.”
‘The Predator’ actress spoke about her split from Aaron for the first time earlier this year, when she claimed his family was “a little broken”, and said she’d asked him to try and mend things with his loved ones, but to no avail.
She said at the time: “That family was a little broken. Before he and I started dating, he hadn’t spoken to the parents and one brother in eight months … I just think it’s really important to mend things in a family, and I encouraged that.
“At the end of the day, there’s a lot of complication. I don’t think either side is clean.”
Meanwhile, Aaron previously admitted his high-profile split from Olivia was “difficult”.
He explained: “When you are living out a relationship in the public eye, it’s definitely … it’s difficult. It has some extra constraints because you have other opinions abut your relationship, how it affects your work and, you know, just some inappropriate connections.”

Cardi B sent ‘disturbing’ messages about daughter

OHMYGOSSIP — Cardi B was sent “disturbing, threatening” messages about her daughter.
The 26-year-old rapper and her husband, Migos rapper Offset, welcomed their first child, a daughter named Kulture Kiari, into the world in July, and Cardi has said that after her phone number was leaked, she started receiving “disgusting” messages about her tot.
Speaking to Ebro Darden on his Beats 1 radio show for Apple Music, she said: “I could show you screenshots of comments, and my phone number got leaked. I got so many disgusting text messages that I literally I had to hire a private investigator to find out who the f**k is these people threatening my child. It’s just really disgusting, disturbing things … we just don’t want to show our baby right now.”
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker has only shared glimpses of her daughter on social media, and recently revealed she turned down a seven figure sum for pictures of the baby because she isn’t “ready” to expose her to the world.
She said: “I got offered seven figures [to show Kulture], I’m just not ready yet. I’m not even ready yet to have a damn babysitter.”
Meanwhile, earlier this month, Cardi said her life now revolves around Kulture, as she’s already thinking about making sure her wealth lasts until her daughter has completed college.
The ‘I Like It’ rapper said: “My baby. That’s all I give a f**k about right now. I’m thinking about how my money’s going to last so this girl is 21 and put in college. I’m thinking about investments. I’m thinking about five years from now and about the craziest s**t like, How am I going to discipline this girl?”
But despite having a lot on her plate, Cardi says she has “everything that she’s ever wanted”.
Marking her 26th birthday earlier this month, she shared: “I wanna say thank you everybody for wishing me a happy birthday. I’m excited, I’m gonna drink some Hennessy today. I’m a little scared cause I might act up but I don’t give a f**k … I’m dumb happy. I’m 26 years old and I have everything that I ever wanted and I’m so grateful. Thank you Jesus and thank you for all the love.”

Julia Roberts slams age discrimination in Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Roberts thinks age discrimination in Hollywood is “bulls**t”.
The 50-year-old actress has slammed the idea that older stars shouldn’t be given movie roles, and says that whilst she’s managed to maintain a lucrative career for three decades, she doesn’t think she’s “special” when it comes to the talent pool of stars in Hollywood.
Speaking about age discrimination in Hollywood, particularly toward older women, Julia said: “I think that’s made-up bulls**t that at a certain age, the bell is going to ring and you are done, go on back home. It’s silly and I don’t think anybody buys into that. I don’t think I am special. I’ve always been fortunate that I have always found the work I am looking for. I mean, 30 years is a long time and I am grateful and satisfied.”
The ‘Homecoming’ actress also spoke about the gender pay gap, saying that whilst the problem still exists, it is getting better “every day”.
Speaking to the i newspaper, she said: “It’s an ongoing thing that we wish was more in the rear view. But every day … today I know the World Surfing League announced that they will have equal pay for their female surfers and male surfers. And Manchester United has a female team that started this year. I think there are places where people are really making those efforts in the right direction. So if it’s a little bit of time, then we have to take it and be happy for it.”
Meanwhile, Julia recently revealed she was left shocked by the amount of actresses who have come forward to claim they have been victims of sexual abuse in Hollywood.
She said: “Of course, you hear stories about it or know people that have suffered that. I myself have the great good fortune that I have not ever been in a situation like that. But it is talk that goes around. I think so many things that come out of that were so shocking and the scope of it was really quite surprising.”
