Michael Buble: My son is a superhero

OHMYGOSSIP — Michael Bublé’s son is his “superhero”.
The ‘Haven’t Met You Yet’ hitmaker and his wife Luisana Lopilato were devastated when they found out that their son Noah, now five, was battling cancer in 2016.
And now, the star has said he thinks of his son as a real life version of “Spider-Man”, because he’s managed to overcome his diagnoses and is now in remission.
He said: “I became the strength to somehow pull us and lift us. When they got it out and chemo was done, I just fell. My wife picks me up.
“He is five years old now and I say to him Spider-Man is amazing but they are fake, they are not real. You are my hero, you are my superhero.”
The 43-year-old singer – who also has two-year-old son Elias with Luisana – added that his “whole life ended” when his son was diagnosed, and found it “too hard to talk about” at first.
Speaking on a special edition of James Corden’s ‘Carpool Karaoke’ in honour of ‘Stand Up To Cancer’, he said: “Obviously we got his diagnosis and that was it, my whole life ended. At first it was just, it is too hard to talk about. They said it wasn’t great so we took it day by day.”
Meanwhile, Michael recently said he “wished he didn’t wake up” after getting the devastating news from his son’s doctor.
He said: “It sucks. It still sucks. What we went through was the worst possible thing that you could hear as a parent, and as maybe a human being. I much rather would have it have been me. Many times I wish that it had been.
“[There were times we] wished we didn’t wake up. I’ve been through a lot. One of the things about going through something that my family has been through is that it gives you great perspective and one of those points of [perspective] is that it really shows you to appreciate the good things.”

Janelle Monae wants to ‘support’ causes she cares about

OHMYGOSSIP — Janelle Monae wants to use her platform to show her “support” for causes she cares about.
The 32-year-old singer and actress revealed earlier this year that she identifies as pansexual – a term usually used to characterise a person whose sexual preference is not limited by biological sex, gender, or gender identity – and has now said she wants to use her fame to make sure the rights of the LGBTQ community are recognised in the current “political climate”.
Speaking to People magazine, she said: “I do care about the rights of the LGBTQI community that I’m a part of, I do care about women’s rights, I’m a woman, I do care about black folks, minority rights, I’m a black person living in America.
There are a lot of things that I care about, and so, I try to figure out ways in my shows to use my platform to support certain folks. I want to make sure that even in this political climate, that we are taking into consideration, as they’re making new laws, as folks are running for office, like who cares about those things that I care about.”
The ‘Moonlight’ star runs her own organisation called Femme the Future which promotes women’s equality, and is known for her activism.
Meanwhile, Janelle also recently revealed she hopes that coming out as pansexual will help other people to “feel more comfortable” with themselves when it comes to their own sexuality.
She said: “It’s been beautiful. I think that it’s been a very warm and loving time for all of us who are walking in our truths. And I’ve always hoped, by sharing my stories that people will feel more comfortable walking in their truths. And feel like it’s not a heavy burden, you know, that you do have support.”
The ‘Make Me Feel’ singer wants to “empower” people, especially women, to be proud of who they are.
She added: “It’s a conversation that I want to have with us as a society, as human beings, about what it means to tell somebody that the way they’re programmed – their existence – whether they’re queer, LGBTQ, IA (intersex or asexual), in that community – whether they are minorities, whether they’re bugs or viruses, whether being a woman, whether being poor, makes you have bugs and viruses. What is it like to live in a society that is constantly trying to cleanse you, and tell you that you need to conform, you need to be reprogrammed … deprogrammed? And so I just wanted to talk about my own bugs and viruses, and how I’m choosing to deal with it.
“I just feel like my sexuality, my women’s desires are one with God, it’s all one it’s all a beautiful thing, and I just hope that women feel more free, feel more empowered. I do.”

Jenna Dewan files for divorce

OHMYGOSSIP — Jenna Dewan has filed for divorce from Channing Tatum.
The pair announced their split six months ago, after eight years of marriage, and Jenna has now filed papers to officially end their union.
According to the court documents, obtained by The Blast, Jenna is seeking child and spousal support from Channing and wants to change her name back from Jenna Dewan Tatum to Jenna Dewan.
The pair have also agreed on joint legal and physical custody of their five-year-old daughter Everly.
Jenna, 37 and Channing, 38, announced their split in a joint statement six months ago.
They said: “We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends seeing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.”
Channing has recently started dating singer Jessie J, while Jenna has been on a “few dates”.
A source recently said: “[Jenna] has been on a few dates but doesn’t talk about a boyfriend. Jenna is busy working and going back and forth between Los Angeles and Atlanta. She’s in a really great place.”
Things are great between Jenna and Channing and they are successfully co-parenting their daughter and are trying to make the split as easy as possible for her.
An insider added: “Everything has been really good between them … Nothing has really changed from when they were together. It hasn’t been a big adjustment for their daughter either, because not much has changed. Channing is a great dad when he is around. They co-parent and have the same goals for their daughter, which is they want her to know that she is very loved.”

Terri Irwin wouldn’t have married if she hadn’t met Steve Irwin

OHMYGOSSIP — Terri Irwin admits if she’d never met late husband Steve Irwin, “she’d never have married”.
The 54-year-old conservationist – who was married to Steve until he tragically died in 2006 when he was killed by a stingray whilst filming one of his documentaries on the Great Barrier Reef – has revealed she is happy and “content”, but still misses Steve daily.
Speaking to Closer magazine, Terri said: “I always wish Steve was here, but I do feel he’s watching over us.
“If I hadn’t met Steve, I’d never have married. I’m content with myself and what I’ve got going on with my life. But I do think that it’s amazing when people have loved before and get the opportunity to love again.
“That’s really beautiful. Will it be me? I don’t know, I’m not really looking. I miss Steve, but I’m content.
“I have two awesome kids. They’re so passionate about carrying on Steve’s conservation work, I can’t imagine them doing anything else. At first, I’d wish Steve was here and that he could do this better, but now, it’s becoming more special and another way to honour what he has done.”
Terri – who has her and Steve’s two children Bindi, 20 and Robert, 14 – confessed that she still finds “milestone moments difficult” despite Steve’s passing 12 years ago, and knows he’d be “proud” of what they have achieved.
Terri added: “The milestone moments are really difficult – when the kids get a good grade, or when Bindi got her first boyfriend.
“I hope he’d be proud of them. Robert is exactly like his dad, physically and in his mannerisms. And when I watch him talk, so much of what he does is like Steve. Bindi is a tender soul, but is up for anything and is a stack of fun.

Katie Price laughed at former pal’s marriage split

OHMYGOSSIP — Katie Price “laughed her head off” when her former pal’s marriage broke down.
The reality TV star was left devastated when her then best pal Jane Pountney embarked on an affair with Katie’s husband Kieran Hayler in 2014.
Although Jane’s husband Derrick Pountney initially vowed to stand by his wife, the pair have since split leaving Katie – who is now estranged from Kieran – delighted.
A source told The Sun: “Katie laughed her head off when the news got out and said it’s karma. She knew about it a while ago and feels bad for Derek but says she’s over the moon that the whole world knows and Jane’s finally had a taste of her medicine.”
“She will never forgive her and said she hopes Jane is going through hell just like she did.”
While the fling between Kieran and Jane reportedly went on for months, Katie only discovered it during a holiday to Cape Verde.
She previously said: “I started walking towards the beach and in the distance, I could see these two silhouettes on the sun loungers. My heart was racing because I knew it was them.
“Then there they were, kissing each other. I f***ing got her by the head, pulled her off of the sunbed and started whacking her, saying ‘I f***ing knew it you f***ing wh**e. Sl*t!'”
Kieran has said: “The routine was usually the same. I would get into the passenger seat of Jane’s car, she would jump on top of me and we would have sex. I didn’t wear a condom because it added to the risk and my heart was always racing.”
Former stripper Kieran, 31, and Katie, 40, are now awaiting divorce and Kieran has said he is happy to be out of the “toxic” marriage.
He said: “My friends have supported me all the way through. A lot of them are glad that I’m out of a toxic relationship because it ended up being a bit of tit-for-tat.”

Seth Rogen and Michael Keaton to star in King of the Jungle

OHMYGOSSIP — Seth Rogen and Michael Keaton are set to star in ‘King of the Jungle’.
The two actors have been confirmed to appear in the dark comedy, which will be based on an article titled ‘John McAfee’s Last Stand’ published in Wired magazine, according to Deadline.
The production is based on the true story of John McAfee the technology expert – who created the McAfee Antivirus software – and relocated to the jungle in Belize in Central America after he earned his fortune.
‘King of the Jungle’ will continue to explore how McAfee coped in the unusual location where he is believed to have founded a compound of “guns, sex, and madness”, and how he slips into a life of crime and debauchery after US expatriate Gregory Viant Faull is found dead, which is a crime McAfee was believed to have committed, although he was not charged.
McAfee’s story continues to capture his next move to Guatemala where he pleaded for asylum, feigned suffering from a heart attack and was deported back to America in 2012.
Johnny Depp was previously attached to star in the movie, directed and produced by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa.
The script has been penned by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.
Condé Nast’s Jeremy Steckler is on hand to produce the movie alongside Charlie Gogolak, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa.

John Carpenter unhappy with Big Trouble In Little China sequel

OHMYGOSSIP — John Carpenter isn’t happy about the planned ‘Big Trouble In Little China’ sequel.
The forthcoming film was announced in 2015 with Dwayne Johnson starring as the lead character and is intended to be a follow-on from the
70-year-old director’s original 1986 movie, which starred Kurt Russell and went on to become a cult classic despite initially disappointing at the box office.
Carpenter believes that little respect will be paid to his story and instead the title has been selected so to be a well-known vehicle for Johnson.
In an interview with Collider, he said: “They want a movie with Dwayne Johnson. That’s what they want. So, they just picked that title. They don’t give a s**t about me and my movie. That movie wasn’t a success. Barry Diller crapped on it.”
Carpenter recently worked with Jason Blum on the new ‘Halloween’ sequel and was brought back to the franchise he created in 1978 to score the slasher flick.
Carpenter is so pleased with what Blum achieved with the movie that he would not hesitate to work with the ‘Paranormal Activity’ producer again.
He said: “I would partner with Jason anytime. I mean that. I think he’s really good and smart.”
The new ‘Halloween’ movie follows Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode battling psychopath killer Michael Myers, 40 years after the first installment of the franchise.

Boy George is grateful for passionate fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Boy George is humbled to still have such a passionate fanbase.
The Culture Club singer just released ‘Life’ – his sixth album with the band – on Friday (26.10.18) and the 57-year-old star has opened up about the way his perspective has changed as he’s got older.
Speaking to Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2’s ‘Breakfast Show’, he said: “I would never describe myself as a grumpy person but I suppose as you get older hopefully you get more perspective and you get to know yourself, I think you get to go back to who you really are.
“You go back to that person. And also you realise how lucky you are to do what you do. ‘People are still listening?’ You go out to all these massive crowds and you think – wow, after all this time…”
Boy George admitted while his fanbase has changed over the years when it comes to live crowd, his audience is still predominantly women – and he joked he doesn’t know why he deserves such adoration.
He added: “When you go on stage you go out and see people who have now got kids… You see more husbands now.
“My algorithms say that I am 70% more popular with women of a certain age so that’s never changed. Now I can look on the internet and see who likes me – still women. What did I ever do to deserve their love?”
After a recent US tour, the ‘Karma Chameleon’ star is delighted to be performing live at a point in his career where the audience already knows who the band are, even if they don’t know what they’re going to get from the live show.
He said: “It was a beautiful experience, yeah, because at this point of the game we are walking out to massive affection. So nobody is there with hostility – everyone knows us. They’re not sure what to expect which is great.
“These days, I’m much more chatty on stage. Years ago, in my early career – if I was in a bad mood everyone got it. I considered it part of my artistic integrity to make everyone feel as bad as I did … I’m never in a bad mood these days, anyway.”

New George Michael song for Last Christmas movie

OHMYGOSSIP — Unreleased George Michael music is set to feature in new movie ‘Last Christmas’.
While George’s classic festive single ‘Last Christmas’ will appear in the movie, it will also premiere brand new unreleased material by the artist, who died Christmas Day in 2016 at the age of 53, Variety reports.
Emilia Clarke and Henry Golding have been cast in the lead roles in the Paul Feig-directed romance.
The upcoming screenplay has been penned by Emma Thompson and Bryony Kimmings, but details about the plot remain scarce.
Paul will also produce the film through his Feigco Entertainment company, with Emma and David Livingstone also serving as producers.
Meanwhile, along with having new music featured in the film, a dance album from the late star is reportedly set for release.
The late singer/songwriter started working on the album in 2011 and it is being prepared for a posthumous release.
George’s friend and creative partner David Austin, has said that it will “definitely see the light of day”.
He added: “There are dance tracks he recorded and there are some finished products. There are some beautiful finished masters there.”
Speaking about the dance album in 2011, George said: “For this album I’m going to be working with either gay or gay-friendly artists, and it’ll be a mixture of tracks sung by me and others by young gay artists – possibly unknown ones.
“And I’ve lined up some really great dance producers to work on it too, so it’ll be a pretty stunning record. I have to say that gay men’s relationship with dance music probably doesn’t end at the same time as straight people’s does!”
Last year, the CEO of Sony Music Entertainment, Rob Stringer, revealed that new music from George could be released, but only if his family agreed.
A release date for the new dance album has not yet been decided.

Seann Walsh jokes about Katya Jones kiss

OHMYGOSSIP — Seann Walsh has joked about his kiss with Katya Jones.
The comedian was pictured snogging his married ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner during a boozy night out, leading his girlfriend Rebecca Humphries to dump him but Seann’s pal and ‘Strictly ‘ co-star Graeme Swann has admitted the comedian has been making jokes about the situation.
Speaking to The Daily Mirror, he said: “We joked about it, there was no point doing anything else. No one has died, but you feel for your mate going through a sticky patch. People were hurt, I’m not making light of it, but I see the other side of it. You’re there for your mate, at the end of the day.
“He got himself in a pickle, then it’s uncomfortable for anyone the first meeting, you don’t really know what to say.
“I can’t think of any¬thing worse than getting embroiled in something like that. That’s not for me.”
Cricketer Graeme previously revealed Seann failed to see the funny side of the situation when he first teased him about it.
He said: “I was the first person he saw when he walked in on the Friday, with a big grin on my face.
“Not at what he’d done, but the situation he found himself in.
“I thought he’d see the lighter side as he’s a comedian but he didn’t. I wanted to see how awkward the introduction was, the first one since the incident, but he just looked at me and said, ‘Please don’t, mate’ and walked off.”
Meanwhile, it was claimed last week that Seann has now been ostracised from the show’s WhatsApp group, following the controversial kiss as people are backing Katya’s husband Neil Jones.
A source said: “It was always felt that Seann wasn’t as liked from the start but after he was pictured kissing Katya those feelings against him have only intensified. Seann was overheard voicing his concerns that he gets ignored on the group.”

Gerard Butler’s submarine prep

OHMYGOSSIP — Gerard Butler spent three days on a submarine to prepare for his role in ‘Hunter Killer’.
The 48-year-old actor and the movie’s director Donovan Marsh decided to experience life on a submarine to prepare for the film, which follows the story of submarine Captain Joe Glass, who is looking for a US submarine in distress in the Arctic Ocean.
Marsh said: “Gerry and I were actually able to re-enact scenes from the film in the sub with a real Naval crew. That was so invaluable for both of us. When we were back on dry land and on set, we were able to bring all that intense realness we experienced to the execution … You realise when you are on a submarine … everything starts leaning and everything that isn’t nailed down just goes flying. It was quite a thrilling feeling to experience and I wanted the actors to be able to have that as much as you possibly can on dry land … It’s traditionally been done by tilting the camera but that just wasn’t real enough. Mounting the set on a gimbal wasn’t easy but everyone loved it. It created a very spontaneous tension and gave everyone the feeling of being at sea.”
Meanwhile, Gerard previously revealed he loves it when an action film just “works”.
He shared: “We always try our best but sometimes you make a movie and you go, ‘OK, that really didn’t work’. But, when it works, honestly, there is nothing better. There is nothing better than walking into a room and feeling the excitement of somebody who has watched a 300 or a Hunter Killer. Because there are always high stakes and there are always big ideas. You make these movies with original content, original ideas – not some intellectual property – and you’re therefore dangling a little more, you know? You could fall on your a**. So, therefore, when it works, it’s so exciting because of those high stakes. When they work they are incredibly exciting, thrilling, fun.”

Justin Bieber cuts back on work for marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Justin Bieber is cutting back on work to focus on his marriage.
The 24-year-old popstar recently tied the knot with model Hailey Baldwin and although she is ready to return to work, Justin is keen to devote himself to married life for now.
A source told PEOPLE: “Justin seems okay. However, he doesn’t seem ready to record new music yet and keeps saying that he just wants to hang out with Hailey. Hailey actually seems more ready to work than he does. They have had a few conflicts about it. Justin likes to just hang out, watch movies and chill. Hailey has a lot of energy and projects that she wants to do. They are not on the same page when it comes to work.
“Hailey understands how hard Justin worked for so long, and is fine with him taking a break. If she has things she wants to do, Justin is fine with that. There has been a little bit of conflict, but nothing out of the ordinary. They’re still very much in love, and their families love each other. That’s all that matters.”
Justin reportedly feels he needs a break from his career and has been enjoying relaxing with his 21-year-old bride.
The insider explained: “He’s been on the go for a long time, and he’s enjoying a laid-back season of life. He is enjoying time with the woman he loves, and doesn’t want anything to get in the way of that. He’ll get back to work soon, but the truth is that he doesn’t have to. He’s got enough money.”

Demi Lovato celebrating 90 days sober

OHMYGOSSIP — Demi Lovato is 90 days sober.
The 26-year-old singer has been receiving treatment in rehab since she overdosed in July and her mother Dianna De La Garza says she is “proud” of her daughter for working on her sobriety.
Speaking on Maria Menounos’ Sirius XM show, Dianna said: “She has 90 days and I couldn’t be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction being a disease is work. It’s very hard and there are no short cuts.”
Dianna also admitted she is unsure of what caused her daughter to relapse.
She said: “I can’t really say for sure. I really don’t know.”
Dianna previously admitted she was still “shaken” by the former ‘X Factor’ judge’s overdose, but said her daughter is now “happy” and “healthy” as she works toward her sobriety.
She said: “It’s still a really difficult thing to talk about. I literally start to shake a little bit when I start to remember what happened that day. [Demi’s assistant called and] said, Demi overdosed. So, I was in shock. I didn’t know what to say. It was just something that I never, ever expected to hear, as a parent, about any of my kids.
“I just feel like the reason she’s alive today is because of the millions of prayers that went up that day when everybody found out what was happening. I don’t think she would be here if it hadn’t been for those prayers and the good doctors and Cedars-Sinai. They were the best. I couldn’t have asked for a better team of people to save her life.
“She’s happy. She’s healthy. She’s working on her sobriety, and she’s getting the help she needs. That in itself encourages me about her future and about the future of our family.”

Blac Chyna’s 3m home

OHMYGOSSIP — Blac Chyna has splashed out $3 million on a new house.
The reality TV star has purchased a lavish 7,054 sq ft property in the San Fernando Valley, which has six bedrooms and six-and-a-half bathrooms.
According to TMZ, her new home sits on half an acre and also features a custom-built wine cellar and a guest house with two bedrooms.
Meanwhile, Chyna’s mother recently begged the star’s former fiance Rob Kardashian to let her see their daughter.
Tokyo Toni has a strained relationship with her 31-year-old daughter so turned to the ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ star in the hope he would make it easier for her to see 23-month-old daughter Dream.
Tokyo – whose real name is Shalana Hunter – posted a video on Instagram in which she said: “Hey, Rob. This is me, Tokyo. Unfortunately, things still haven’t changed since we last spoke, obviously. And as far as Chyna is concerned, things still haven’t gotten better since you told social media about it.”
She went on to ask if there was “any way possible” for her to see the toddler, even if it was “through FaceTime or … a video to my DM”.
And Tokyo claimed she had no other way to reach out to the 31-year-old sock designer.
She added: “I don’t even know how the baby sounds. It’s absolutely ludicrous. This is the only way I can get through to you. I don’t have any numbers for anybody anymore.”
Tokyo has previously reached out to Amber Rose to ask for her help in seeing Dream and her grandson, six-year-old King – whose father is rapper Tyga – as she felt the model is one of the few people her daughter would listen to.
She said: “You are the only person that I know that knows my daughter who does not fear her.
“Can you please tell her I said let me see those kids! I’m so very sorry to come at you in this way on social media but there’s no other way.”
Chyna and Tokyo have had a difficult relationship for some time, which was explored on reality show ‘Rob & Chyna’ and though at one point it seemed they had resolved their differences, Tokyo shared a video earlier this year in which she described her daughter as a “mistake”.

Chloe Grace Moretz: ‘Therapy has helped my career’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Grace Moretz says therapy helps her acting career.
The 21-year-old actress is a firm believer in therapy and says it has been beneficial to her work as an actress.
She said: “I think mental health, it’s important to me as a human, but especially I think as an actor, it really helps. But I think there should always be someone that you talk to, whether it’s an actual therapist or not. I like an actual therapist because you gain a breadth of emotional vocabulary, and it gives you a way to deal with everyday struggles, and also to see that your problems aren’t singular. When you see that your problems are honestly kind of general, it’s cathartic. And you see that you are not that special, which I thought was really great. I’m like, ‘Oh my god, I have all these issues it’s only me!’ She was like, ‘It’s not only you, everyone deals with these and they are actually very common, and it’s OK and you are going to be fine.’ That’s the best.”
Chloe also revealed that her last two movies have “reignited” her desire to act.
The actress stars in ‘The Miseducation of Cameron Post’, directed by Desiree Akhavan and Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Suspira’ remake and Chloe says both movies have been hugely important to her.
She told The Hollywood Reporter: “Well, Luca is someone I’ve known for years. We’ve tried to work together since I was 15, but I was a little young for all of his female characters and the sexuality that comes with them. I had just finished Cameron Post right before I started filming this one, and I got both scripts at the same time. And these were the two scripts that I think reignited who I was as an actor.”
