Julia Roberts rarely watches TV

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Roberts doesn’t watch much TV.
The ‘Homecoming’ actress claims her eyesight is too bad to binge-watch shows through streaming services on her phone or tablet, plus she doesn’t get much time to sit down and relax until after her children Finn and Hazel, 13, and 11-year-old Henry – who she has with husband Daniel Moder – have gone to bed.
She said: “My own television is very big out of necessity, because I have bad eyes. But I don’t think of my career as small screen versus big screen. Also, I don’t get to watch a lot of television, because by the time it’s adult television watching time, I am going to bed.”
The 50-year-old actress admitted TV has changed a lot since she was young.
She told the i newspaper: “This period is sort of platform-agnostic. I don’t think performing differs according to how people are going to get a story brought to them. I mean, I grew up on canned laughter and a very different-looking television.”
Julia joined Instagram in June as a “psychological test” and though she’s had advice on using the app from her children, she doesn’t think she’s very adept at using it yet.
She said: “It’s an interesting psychological test I’m putting myself through.
“As the mother of teenagers, it’s an incredible exercise. I’m not terribly good at it. My kids told me early on, ‘Mom, you’re kind of blowing it a little bit – this is what you need to be doing.’ I think I’ve had some good counsel.”
Instead, the ‘Pretty Woman’ star feels more comfortable talking soccer with her children, in particular their favourite team Manchester United.
She said: “That’s who we cheer for in our house. My oldest son got into that and it’s always been his team.”

Jane Fonda is a late bloomer

OHMYGOSSIP — Jane Fonda thinks she’s only starting to “live up to” her potential.
The 80-year-old actress lacked confidence when she was younger and felt she needed the support of her father, Henry Fonda, and her three ex-husbands, Roger Vadim, Tom Hayden and Ted Turner, but she’s proud to have been a “late bloomer” who has finally come into her own.
She said: “I didn’t have very much confidence, I didn’t take myself seriously, and I thought that if I was with those kinds of men that I could be somebody.
“They were all so brilliant, and I thought they could teach me things and take me farther than I had ever gone.
“I think I’m maybe just starting now to live up to my potential. I’m a late bloomer, but you know, we live 34 years longer than we used to, so it’s not so bad being a late bloomer.”
The ‘Grace and Frankie’ actress believes her protests against the Vietnam War marked a turning point in her life as it gave her a sense of purpose.
She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “Prior to my becoming an anti-war activist, I had lived an eventful life, an interesting life, but a meaningless life. I was a pretty girl who made movies and was kind of hedonistic.
“And when I decided to throw in my lot with the anti-war movement, everything shifted. The way I looked at the world the people I was drawn to, what interested me – everything changed.”
But Jane thinks she would have been “woke” much sooner if she had grown up in the current political climate.
She said: “It took me until my mid-thirties to get woke. But I think if I’d been 20 and Trump had been elected, I would have been woke earlier.”
The ‘Book Club’ actress’ life is explored in a new HBO documentary, ‘Jane Fonda in Five Acts’ and she hopes it will “encourage” people to be more politically active.
She said: “I hope it will encourage people to become active. There’s a gangster running the country, and we need an honest, right-thinking non-gangster to lead. And it’s going to take every single person in this country to make that happen.”

Queen Elizabeth’s last corgi passes away

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth’s last corgi has passed away.
The last of the 91-year-old monarch’s famous corgi pooches has reportedly died, leaving her with her two dorgis – dachshund and corgi crosses – called Candy and Vulcan.
A source told the Daily Mail newspaper: “Whisper was a friendly chap and followed her everywhere. The Queen has quickly become very attached to the dog.
“The Fenwicks looked after their corgis like the Queen did so she knew there would be no problem if Whisper came to the Palace. When the dog was born it was named Wispa after the chocolate bar. The Queen thought it was a bit obscure and preferred the proper spelling.”
Whisper was gifted to the Queen two years ago, following the passing of Bill Fenwick, a former Sandringham gamekeeper, and the monarch took the pooch on as her own. Fenwick’s late wife Nancy used to look after the Queen’s corgis when she was away on royal duties.
It comes only a few months after Queen Elizabeth lost her corgi Willow, the last of the descendants of her first corgi Susan, which was gifted to her on her 18th birthday.
An insider shared at the time: “She has mourned every one of her corgis over the years, but she has been more upset about Willow’s death than any of them … It is probably because Willow was the last link to her parents and a pastime that goes back to her own childhood. It really does feel like the end of an era.”

Barbra Streisand says her attitude has ‘scared’ a lot of men

OHMYGOSSIP — Barbra Streisand thinks her attitude has “scared” a lot of men during her career.
The 76-year-old icon has always been an extremely ambitious and opinionated person, but she’s conceded that her assertive approach has also alienated some people.
Barbra – who has been married to actor James Brolin since 1998 – shared: “I didn’t want to stay in my place.
“I started out wanting to be an actress and I got to acting through my singing. But then that wasn’t enough. I wanted to shape things,
“I wanted to write. I wanted to direct. I wanted to produce. I wanted to make decisions. And that got me into trouble.
“A woman in control: that scared men. It scared other women! They weren’t ready for it.”
Despite this, Barbra has always refused to bite her tongue and keep her opinions private.
She told the Guardian newspaper: “That’s my problem. I would constantly get attacked; I still get attacked.
“I remember a line from George Bernard Shaw’s play ‘Saint Joan’: ‘He who tells too much truth shall surely be hanged.’
“I was making TV movies about subjects I loved, about gun control, gay rights, about Margarethe Cammermeyer, who was ousted from the army for telling the truth about her sexuality, and that didn’t make me more popular with a lot of people.
“But it’s what I believe in my heart is what decency is, and fairness. So that’s what I stand up for.”
In spite of her assertive nature, Barbra still feels anxious when she has to perform in front of a live audience.
The ‘A Star Is Born’ actress said: “I’m scared to go on stage! I still have stage fright. What’s that about?
“I’d love to do more concerts, and go and sing my new songs, but it’s kind of traumatic for me.”

Halsey: Pain will always be there

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey knows her pain “will always be there”.
The ‘Closer’ hitmaker – who recently split from G-Eazy – has taken to Twitter to post a philosophical quote reminding herself to focus on her own happiness.
She wrote on Twitter: “reminder to self: happiness is not a replacement for misery. it’s an addition. pain will always be there. but that’s okay. u allow happiness to join as another option. so when the time comes, it’s there waiting, existing; a possibility for when you’re ready to choose … @ me: life is not pain vs happiness. one does not replace the other. they exist together. happiness doesn’t arrive as a replacement. it arrives to assist u in carrying the weight of the pain … @ me: now remember that u dummy (sic)”
It was previously revealed that Halsey and G-Eazy were “working on their relationship”.
A source said at the time: “[Halsey and G-Eazy have] been in touch since their split and are working on their relationship. They consider each other family and are on good terms now, but not fully back together. They knew they were both going to be out and about after the VMAs and it was planned to meet up after they made the rounds at the VMAs after-parties. They wanted to do their own things during the night and didn’t want to cause too much of a commotion by them being together, but left hand in hand after the party and went back to G-Eazy’s hotel to continue the night. They are being casual right now, but are definitely working on things. They are both hoping they can have a healthy friendship, if anything.”

Hulk Hogan hints at surprise appearance at WWE Crown Jewel

OHMYGOSSIP — Hulk Hogan has hinted he’ll make a surprise appearance at the WWE’s upcoming event in Saudi Arabia.
The 65-year-old star made his long-awaited return to the world of professional wrestling earlier this year, having had his contract terminated by the company in 2015 after he was recorded making racist remarks.
Speaking about his recent return to the WWE – which included him being reinstated into the company’s illustrious Hall of Fame – Hogan shared: “There are a lot of plans in the works.”
The iconic star was invited backstage to the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event in July.
And Hogan has hinted he could have an even bigger role to play at the WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia on November 2.
He told the Orlando Sentinel newspaper: “I’m looking forward to going to Saudi Arabia with the WWE, looking forward to WrestleMania – but yeah, we’re moving forward at a rapid pace. It’s exciting to have this opportunity again after all these years where I was there and gone.”
Hogan revealed that ultimately, he wants to become the WWE’s equivalent of baseball legend Babe Ruth.
The world-famous wrestler explained that he’d like to be used as a “hood ornament” for the company over the coming years.
Hogan – who is one of the biggest pay-per-view draws in the company’s history – said: “I sure would love to be a part of the WrestleManias and the big events and the grand openings and the new conquests of the WWE.
“Saudi Arabia! Hong Kong! China! Antarctica! The North Pole! Whatever it is, I’d like to be part of the ongoing growth of the wrestling business, and be with WWE the whole time, that’s the only place to be.”

Khloe Kardashian unsure about moving back to Cleveland

OHMYGOSSIP — Khloe Kardashian is still unsure about moving back to Cleveland.
The ‘Keeping Up With The Kardashians’ star hasn’t decided whether she will move back to Ohio with Tristan Thompson, according to her mother Kris Jenner.
During a round of ‘Burning Questions’ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Kris was asked if Khloe planned to move back to Cleveland, with the matriarch answering “maybe”.
Khloe and Tristan hit a bump in their relationship when the basketball star was seen seemingly kissing another woman just days before Khloe gave birth to their daughter True, now six months.
A source previously revealed Khloe is reluctant to return to Ohio after spending the summer back home in Los Angeles with her family.
They shared: “Her family is happy that she is still in LA and wants her around for as long as possible. No one is pushing for her to go back to Cleveland to be with Tristan. This will be her decision to make. There hasn’t been any new talk about moving to Cleveland. It seems she isn’t moving back right now. But one thing is for sure. Khloé seems very happy. She loves being a mom and only leaves True occasionally for work. She seems very positive about her future.”
And things are said to still be “up in the air” with Khloe and Tristan’s relationship.
An insider shared: “Khloé is stable, content and very happy with being a mom and with how things are going with True. As for Tristan, things are still quite up in the air between them. Things seem more unstable in the relationship right now. But she’s taking it all in stride.”

Claire Foy not ‘defined’ by The Crown role

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Foy won’t let her role as Queen Elizabeth II in ‘The Crown’ “define” her.
The 34-year-old actress played the monarch in the Netflix drama for two seasons, and although the part thrust her into the spotlight, she’s determined not to become pigeon-holed by the iconic role.
She said: “I don’t feel like I’m defined by playing Queen Elizabeth. It’s a huge honour that people liked that character and therefore see me as that character. So, I’m not trying to actively go against that.”
And the star says she’s “really really proud” of the time she spent working on the period drama, but has no fear when it comes to taking on new roles, as she knows she needs to be “selfish” and take on jobs she wants to do.
She added to People magazine: “My career is only for me, really. I can’t do it for anybody else and so the choices and decisions I make are purely based on what I want to do. That’s it really. It’s a really selfish thing.”
Claire and her co-star Matt Smith – who played Queen Elizabeth’s husband Prince Philip – have been recast for the upcoming third season as the show skips ahead to a later time in the Queen’s life, with the monarch instead being played by Olivia Coleman, and Prince Philip being played by Tobias Menzies.
Meanwhile, although Claire is proud of her work on the show, the programme hasn’t been without controversy as the beauty was involved in a gender pay gap scandal which meant she was paid considerably less than Matt, despite having a more prominent role.
The ‘First Man’ star admitted she was “deeply hurt” by the scandal, which was supposedly caused by Matt’s previous high profile role as the titular time lord in sci-fi show ‘Doctor Who’.
She said: “I was deeply hurt by it, because I’d been working on that show for two years. I loved everybody on it. And then I realised, there’s been a big, fat, dirty secret that nobody’s ever talked about. But then there was also that thing [of being] an inadvertent spokesperson. Why did it have to be me? I could have said nothing. And I think everyone would have preferred that. But I thought, if I do that, I will be cheating myself and all the other women I know.”

Iman will never remarry

OHMYGOSSIP — Iman insists she’ll “never remarry”, following the death of her husband David Bowie.
The 63-year-old supermodel married the ‘Space Oddity’ hitmaker – with whom she has 18-year-old daughter Alexandria – in 1992 and was still wed to him when he tragically passed away after battling liver cancer in January 2016.
Now, the beauty says she still refers to David as her “husband”, and when people try to correct her and call him her “late husband”, she insists his death doesn’t matter because she’ll always be married to him.
She said: “I will never remarry. I mentioned my husband the other day with someone, and they said to me: ‘You mean your late husband?’ I said, ‘No, he is always going to be my husband.'”
And despite being set in her ways, Iman admits she does get “lonely” at times, but still isn’t ready to move on from the music legend.
She added: “I do feel very lonely. But do I want a relationship? I can’t say never, but no, not now.”
Living in the public eye for over four decades has brought Iman a lot of unwanted attention, and she says even now paparazzi still pretend to have sympathy for her loss.
She said: “People take pictures of me in the street, and say [touching my arm]: ‘I am so sorry for your loss.’ I’m like, don’t touch me. You just took pictures of me, how can you be sorry? […] I get the fans’ grief, but it’s not the same. They have lost someone they look up to; we have lost a husband and a father. And sometimes, I don’t want people to know how sad I am. People say to me: Oh, you’re so strong. I’m not strong – I am just trying to keep it together.”
Iman is now focused on shielding her and the ‘Heroes’ musician’s daughter from modelling agencies, as she believes they’re only interested in her because of her famous parents.
Speaking to PorterEdit, she said: “Every agency, every designer, called me to say: ‘If she wants to, we’d love for her to model for us.’ I said: ‘No, she doesn’t.’ I know why they wanted to her to model – it’s because she is David Bowie’s daughter.”

Lenny Kravitz ‘never wanted’ fame

OHMYGOSSIP — Lenny Kravitz “never wanted” to be famous.
The 54-year-old musician has received world wide fame for his music, but says it was never his intention to “become a star”, as he was simply interested in making music, regardless of whether or not he was successful across the globe.
When asked if he found fame overwhelming, the ‘Fly Away’ hitmaker – whose mother was ‘The Jeffersons’ star Roxie Roker – said: “My mother was on a No. 1 show, and it ran for 11 seasons, and we didn’t have a housekeeper. We did all the housework; my mother was scrubbing floors on Saturday. She drove a Buick. She was just so real. By the time I made it, that side never affected me. It was always about being humble and being grateful. I never said I wanted to be a star. I always said I wanted to be a musician. It was always based on art, not how many records I would sell or how big the arenas were going to be.”
But the ‘Low’ singer – who has daughter and actress Zoe Kravitz, 29, with his former wife Lisa Bonet – also says the start of his career was anything but successful, as he would get turned away from record labels who claimed his music wasn’t “black enough”.
Lenny – who is known for his brand of psychedelic funk rock – told Variety magazine: “I just knew that I was singing and performing my truth. This was a time right after everybody in the music industry was telling me that I couldn’t do this sort of thing. I would take my music around to the labels, and I would get the whole ‘It’s not black enough’ [response].
“So people were not into the music that I was making or didn’t know how to sell it or how to market it. I was offered deals if I would simply change my music. I never took the deal. I wanted to do my thing. I was living in my car. I had no money. I’m young and in my late teens and who wouldn’t take the money, but there was just something inside of me that wouldn’t let me do it.”

Pete Davidson changes phone number to avoid Ariana Grande

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Davidson reportedly changed his number to avoid contact with former fiancée Ariana Grande in the wake of their split.
The ‘Saturday Night Live’ star and the 25-year-old singer went their separate ways earlier this month – just months after their June engagement which followed less than a month of dating – and it has now been claimed he’s “decided to focus on himself” rather than dwelling on the split, by changing his number and cutting ties with his former flame.
A source said: “He decided to focus on himself. He’s had the matching tattoo that he got with her changed.”
The insider noted Pete changed his phone number to “distance himself,” and another source added that “currently, they are not speaking.”
Pete, 24, and the ‘No Tears Left to Cry’ hitmaker called off their engagement on October 14, and it has been claimed that one of the reasons for their split was the mounting “pressure” Pete was feeling from being in the spotlight.
A source told Us Weekly magazine: “This has been a difficult experience for Pete. He’s always been an extremely private person and the Ariana Grande spotlight and social media were a lot of new pressure for him.”
Meanwhile, Pete recently spoke out about the break-up during a comedy show, where he likened the pain of split to being “kicked in the d**k”.
He said: “[I feel like] a good guy that just keeps getting kicked in the d**k.
“It was like in a magazine like, ‘Was Pete Davidson stupid?’ And 93 percent of it said yes.
“So my boy, he was like, ‘Don’t listen to that s**t man. They’re literally f***ing haters.’ And I’m like, yeah, f**k that. I’m not stupid.
“And the other day we were in my kitchen and he was like, ‘Yo bro. Turns out you were stupid.’
“Does anybody have any open rooms? Looking for a roommate?”

Iman wants to travel

OHMYGOSSIP — Iman wants to “travel”.
The 63-year-old supermodel – who is the widow of ‘Space Oddity’ hitmaker David Bowie, who tragically passed away in 2016 after suffering from liver cancer – has said she would love to head off and see the world, as it’s something she’s always wanted to do.
Speaking about her plans for the future, she said: “One thing I want to do, which I have not done for a long time, is travel.”
Iman has her heart set on places including Vietnam, Korea, and Australia, but says she would never go travelling around the states of America, because she feels “scared” in the current political climate.
She added: “Maybe five years ago [I would have traveled], but America has changed. The hostility and division is palpable. When one feels scared that you cannot travel to certain places in the country, because you don’t know how hostile it is – where is the democracy?”
The beauty was born in Somalia but moved to America to pursue a modelling career and now has a dual nationality, and considers herself both Somali and American.
And despite her growing fears about America’s political climate, she insists she’d never leave the country.
Speaking to PorterEdit, she said: “As much as I am Somali, I am American. This is the country that gave me everything, so it is my duty to stick it out.”
Meanwhile, Iman previously revealed she wasn’t even sure she would make it as a model when moved to the US to pursue her career dreams.
She said: “In 1976, after I’d arrived in New York, aged 20, my very first modelling job was for Vogue.”
Growing up in eastern Africa in the 1960s and ’70s, I could not have aspired to become a fashion model even if I’d wanted to: If they existed, news of their habits never reached me at boarding school.”

Niall Horan has had sinus surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Niall Horan has undergone sinus surgery.
The 25-year-old One Direction star took to Twitter on Friday (26.10.18) to tell his fans he’s undergone special surgery on his sinuses – the cavities that run through your head, including your nose and the low centre of your forehead – and will be “laying low” for a while so he can recover fully.
He wrote: “Just wanted to let you guys know that I’ve had my sinus surgery and recovery is going well . As I said I’ll be laying low for a while but thought you might want to know that part (sic)”
The ‘This Town’ hitmaker didn’t explain what he’s had done to his nasal cavities, but he has tweeted in the past about struggling from sinusitis, a common infection which causes a swelling of the sinuses.
He wrote at the time: “Sinus infection is a real pain in the face!”
Although he’s taking things slow as he recovers from surgery, Niall was already planning on taking an extended break from the limelight, following the end of his ‘Flicker World Tour’ in September.
The ‘Slow Hands’ singer decided that he’s going to take some time out, as he wants to focus on his second solo album and hang out with his friends and family.
He said: “Having the band there is great so in the soundchecks we will jam out something and see what happens.
“Nothing has really come yet. When I’m on tour I get into such a routine. And when you’re writing songs I feel like that needs to be 100 per cent your focus.
“So I’m going to take a couple of months off after the tour, which finishes in September. Then I’ll just write until I’ve got good tunes. I’m not coming back until I do.
“I find the slower songs come more naturally for me. I would like to create a bit more of the up-tempo stuff and try to cement my sound. That’s something to work on.”

Brandon Jenner seeking joint custody in Leah Felder divorce

OHMYGOSSIP — Brandon Jenner is seeking joint custody of his brood, through his divorce with estranged wife Leah Felder.
The 37-year-old reality star and his estranged spouse filed for divorce almost one month ago, and it seems the couple aren’t wasting any time in getting divorce proceeding underway, according to new papers obtained by People magazine.
On Thursday (25.10.18) Brandon officially filed his response to Leah’s original divorce documents, and asked that the pair pair share joint legal and physical custody of daughter Eva James, three.
It was previously reported that Leah is seeking spousal support, and Brandon is requesting that the amount be determined later. He’s also asking that the pair be responsible for their own legal fees.
Brandon and Leah, 35, told fans about their break-up in a shared statement released on Instagram on September 10.
It read: “After celebrating fourteen beautiful years together, we have lovingly come to the decision to end the romantic aspect of our relationship. We are deeply proud of the life we’ve cultivated together and are truly grateful for the bond of friendship we hold and cherish today. It is stronger than ever.
“Even though we have chosen to separate as a couple, we still love one another very, very much and remain a major part of each other’s lives – as best friends, family and loving parents to our daughter. There has been no lying or cheating or fighting that prompted this change, just an expansion of our individual evolution which has inspired us to support each other in a new way. We are still, very much, a loving family and are bonded by a deep connection that is rooted in love.
“Here we openly share our truth with you all and, respectfully, we won’t be commenting further so anything that might state the contrary of this message would, undoubtedly, be a fabrication.
“Thank you for your love and support and big love back to you guys!”
