Alan Carr’s Channel 4 Christmas show

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Carr is returning to Channel 4 for a new Christmas show.
The 42-year-old TV presenter will head back to the channel to host a special called ‘So This Is Christmas’, two years after his ‘Chatty Man’ show was dropped from the network.
A TV insider told The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “Although this doesn’t carry the ‘Chatty Man’ name, it’s basically the same successful format in a Yuletide setting.
“Alan’s Christmas specials have always proved hugely popular in the past, with viewers feeling they’re actually a part of his festive party.
“But it might just leave one or two viewers pining for the days when he was on our screens virtually every week on Channel 4.”
The festive one-off is expected to include showbiz guests, music and high energy that used to feature on ‘Chatty Man’ – which started off in 2009, scooped a BAFTA, two National Television Awards and welcomed high-profile guests such as Rihanna and Mariah Carey.
Despite giving the ‘Friday Night Project’ star a two-year extension to his contract in 2013 – in which Alan signed a deal worth £4 million – Channel 4 bosses announced in 2016 that the 16th series of the show would be the last after ratings plummeted.
At the time, Alan believed that he stood little chance against rival Graham Norton, because his guests weren’t of the same calibre of his BBC competitors.
Alan said: “I just think that the art of the chat show has evolved, unless you can get the amazing guests all the time that Norton gets.
“Three guests a week and Channel 4, God love ’em, extended it to 30 episodes – that’s 90 guests who are relevant and people are interested in, up against the amazing Norton and Jonathan Ross.
“I’ve gone as far as I can with ‘Chatty Man’.”

Susanna Reid’s new love

OHMYGOSSIP — Susanna Reid is reportedly dating Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ host, 47, and the 53-year-old businessman are believed to have started dating two months ago after they bonded over Crystal Palace and the Eagles.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “They have known each other for several years through their connections to Palace.
“Over the summer they started hanging out more and fell for each other.
“They have a real chemistry, a wicked sense of humour and both are real family people. Plus, of course, they share a love of the Eagles.”
Susanna split from her partner Dominic Cotton in 2014, after 16 years together.
They have sons Sam, 16, Finn, 14, and Jack, 13, together and Susanna recently admitted she is ready to date again now that all of her boys are teenagers.
She said: “I’m definitely open to dating again.
“This is the right time of my life to explore that now. I’ve spent a significant amount of time since the split focused on the children and on work. That’s been absolutely the right thing to do for the past couple of years.
“My children are all teenagers now – they’re much more independent. They do things after school, they’ve got loads of friends, so I think they encouraged me to think about developing that side of my life a little bit more.
“You want your children to be happy with what you’re doing.”

Jamie Dornan not typecast

OHMYGOSSIP — Jamie Dornan doesn’t feel typecast by the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ franchise.
The 37-year-old actor portrayed kinky businessman Christian Grey in all three movies in the series but he isn’t worried that will define his career because it’s so unlike any other role.
He said: “I don’t know how much onus I would put on me trying to step away from ‘Fifty Shades’. In some ways, I feel the opposite of typecast.
“Mostly for the fact that there aren’t a lot of scripts out there about sadomasochist men.”
And Jamie thinks the franchise was an “anomaly” because it was adored by fans yet savaged by critics.
He told Red magazine: “The thing is, I just think ‘Fifty Shades’ is an anomaly, in that it’s sort of incomparable to anything else that will go on to be made..
“For one, I don’t think there will be another movie made on that subject matter again.
“I don’t think there will be more films with quite that same fan base.
“But also, I’m pretty certain there won’t be another set of movies that are so critically disliked that make so much money.
“When you think about it, the remarkable thing about ‘Fifty Shades’ was the fact the fans didn’t give a f**k what the critics had to say.
“They didn’t give a f**k about what some Oxbridge graduate on whatever newspaper wrote.
“So to compare it, or look at it in a way that relates to whatever I do next, I kind of feel that’s impossible.
“The chances are, neither me or anybody will be in that kind of situation again.”

Mackenzie Foy keeps in touch with Twilight parents

OHMYGOSSIP — Mackenzie Foy stays in touch with her ‘Twilight Saga’ parents, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.
The 17-year-old actress played Renesmee, the daughter of Kristen and Robert’s characters, in ‘Breaking Dawn Parts 1 and 2’ and although it is six years since the final movie was released, she still finds time to check in with her former on-screen parents.
Mackenzie told Entertainment Tonight: “I do. I do try to. They were just amazing people. I have so many wonderful memories just working with them and hanging out with them. So I do try to talk to them.
“Being on Twilight, that was my first film. So everything I learned on that set, I was learning for the first time. That was a film that I really knew, and understood what a film is and how it worked. So anything that I did in that process really prepared me for the rest of my career.”
Mackenzie is currently starring as Victorian heroine Clara in ‘The Nutcracker and the Four Realms’ and jumped at the chance to star in a Disney movie.
She said: “It’s really pretty cool to play a Disney princess. I’m a huge Disney fan so being able to be in a Disney film, and being a Disney princess, is just, like, ‘Oh my goodness!’ It’s so cool. It’s amazing. It really is.
“I don’t want to be person that spoils [anything], but there’s a couple of really, really exciting twists and turns in this film that I think you’re really going to like.”
The movie sees Clara disappear into a mysterious parallel world and Mackenzie – who is joined in the film by the likes of Dame Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman and Keira Knightley – had a great time on the fantastical sets.
She recently said: “There were some big set pieces and it was cool to step away from the monitors and into this magical world.”
The actress is the only member of her family to be involved in the movie industry and she credits them for keeping her grounded and allowing her to continue to lead a “normal” life.
She said:” My family is incredible. To them I’m just Mackenzie, I have work Mackenzie and home Mackenzie.
“My childhood has been normal, fun. I hang out with friends and do high school things like go to dances and football games.”

Olly Alexander used to think Jeff Buckley was communicating with him

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Alexander used to think Jeff Buckley was communicating with him through “time”.
The 28-year-old singer – who fronts the band Years &Years – has admitted that he was “obsessed” with the ‘Hallelujah’ singer growing up and thought they could communicate with each other through his music.
In an interview with GQ, he said: “I had my moments with being obsessed I was obsessed with Jeff Buckley as well for a while I was convinced that me and Jeff Buckley were communicating to each other through you know… time.”
The ‘If You’re Over Me’ hitmaker revealed that he used to have a love for pop stars as well as singer-songwriters.
He said: “I guess the people I really, really loved were, so I loved the Spice Girls and the pop girls like Britney, Destiny’s child but then I got into more singer-songwriters like Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell Jeff Buckley.”
The ‘King’ singer also shared that during his rise to fame he found crying fans “quite upsetting” but he is now used to the reaction he receives and knows it’s because the band’s music is “important to them”.
He said: “Honestly at first it’s quite upsetting when that happens because I just want someone to be okay like ‘stop crying stop shaking’.
“But now I’m a bit more used to that reaction I see it’s just something that’s important to them they’re at an age, place in their life that’s very important to them.
“That music and being at the show is important to them, it’s also being in that mentality with other fans you know they all get really excited.
“I think about the fandom psychology you see the same people come to the front at every show and they dedicate such a huge part of their lives to being a fan of our band or of whoever and I think I was never at that level but I could have been.”

Iggy Azalea splits with Island Records

OHMYGOSSIP — Iggy Azalea has parted ways with Island Records.
Just nine months after leaving Def Jam for Island, Iggy has revealed the she is “officially unsigned” and looking forward to releasing new music independently.
She wrote on Twitter: “I’m officially unsigned! Wild you spend so long trying to get IN a record deal… never thought I’d be so elated to be OUT of one, now I’m free to release whatever kinda music I like, whenever I’d like woooo! (sic)”
However, Iggy insisted that she will not rush to release new music as she wants to ensure she is proud of her material.
She tweeted: “Well still no music this year tho. I am nowhere near ready direction wise etc with the stuff I’ve been working on and I don’t wanna jump the gun and have some messy era aesthetically. I’m aiming to be ready to share new music early next year! (sic).”
The split from Island comes just one week after Iggy admitted she wanted to break away from the label and take full ownership of her career.
Iggy tweeted: “I love Island, but don’t want a label. There are conversations happening at the moment. I want to be my own boss. I feel I would be better off if I could make my own timeline etc choices and I have the funds to do it. (sic)”
However, the 28-year-old singer insisted she did not have any major problems with Island.
She wrote: “It’s just a conversation I don’t know if I will be able to actually make it happen or not. I would still be happy with Island they are good people too… just feel it would be better for me as a business to have the control when im confident I can run it well alone. (sic)”
However, Iggy subsequently hinted at performing a U-turn on her plan.
She tweeted: “Just be prepared for lots of thinking aloud and ignore everything I say cause I change my mind every 48hours. (sic)”
Iggy is well-known for giving her followers a behind-the-scenes insight into her life through social media.
But the blonde beauty recently admitted that some aspects of being so candid can be “unfortunate”.
She said: “Twitter is unfortunate, social media is unfortunate because it freezes that in time for us.
“In some ways, that’s good. You can look back and self-reflect and say, ‘Geez, I’ve come a long way, that’s good.’ The silver lining is that you can look at that and be like, ‘Never again.’
“But I don’t really sit around thinking, ‘If only I could delete that one thing.’ You know, you’ve gotta move forward and have personal growth. I don’t really think much about that.”

Ed Sheeran’s We Are inspired by death of pal

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran’s ‘We Are’ was inspired by the tragic death of a close friend.
Although the track has not been included on any of Ed’s three number one albums, he added it to his set at The Bedford pub in Balham in 2010, which he recorded for a self-released live EP.
Ed calls the track “the song that actually got me a record deal” as a record executive from Atlantic was in the audience and was hugely impressed by the emotional song.
Ed, 27, was just 14 when his close pal Stuart Dines died in a traffic accident near Cologne in 2006, while on a school ski-trip.
He was so devastated by his loss that he wrote ‘We Are’ and Stuart’s family played it at his funeral.
In his book ‘Ed Sheeran’, author Sean Smith explained: “Ed had to come to terms with the death of someone he saw practically every day.
“He resolved to write a song about his feelings. He composed it, he said, ‘whilst I got round to actually accepting it’.”
And Stuart’s dad Robert told the author: “Ed was very, very upset, like a lot of the children.”
In an extract from the book, which has been obtained by the Sunday Mirror, Sean also revealed that Ed’s first serious girlfriend Alice broke up with him because she was uncomfortable with being the inspiration behind many of his songs.
A source told the author: “She was incredibly self-conscious about the fact the album was very heavily about her.
“Her boyfriend was the Ed Sheeran she went to school with and now it was something completely different. She wanted no part of fame. She cared greatly about him. They were wonderful together.”
However, Ed still paid tribute to her in the notes for his first album, writing: “Finally thank you to Alice, all in, chill out time, and being the only girl that all of the songs are about, thank you for the inspiration and for staying you. Love x (sic).”

Liam Gallagher’s new cat

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has a new cat.
The 46-year-old musician – who was devastated when his moggy Lady Our Kid passed away in 2016 at the age of 19 – has taken to Twitter to reveal that he has gotten himself a new cat called Sid.
He shared a picture of the cat and wrote: “Say hello to my new cat SID as you were LG.”
And he admitted his new pet is “lively”, tweeting: “Lively 1st night with RSID as you were LG x.”
Lady Our Kid was originally owned by Liam’s former wife Nicole Appleton and her ex-boyfriend Robbie Williams, who split in 1999.
Nicole kept Lady Our Kid when they broke up and Liam became hugely fond of the cat, despite it once belonging to his rival Robbie.
Robbie said in 2013: “I am now in my 40th year and I think it is time for a cat. I used to have one when I went out with Nicole Appleton from All Saints.
“We went to Harrods one day and bought one and called it Lady Our Kid. I wonder if she is still alive.
“Nicole got her in the ‘cat-vorce’, which is best because at that point in time, she was more equipped to look after her. But now I think it may be time for a cat or two.”
When Lady Our Kid died in 2016, Liam, Nicole and Robbie all paid tribute.
Liam shared a picture of the cat on Twitter and wrote: “RIP KID”, while Nicole responded with a broken heart emoji.
Nicole then let former Take That star Robbie know the cat had passed, sharing a Twitter post in which, as well as including a photo of her hugging the animal, she wrote: “I lost my best friend of 19 years tonight ..ladyrkid..I’m hurting so bad!..@robbiewilliams (sic)”
Robbie wrote on his account, “Here’s to you Lady Ourkid . Bless #RIP,” followed by a heart emoji.

Dani Dyer complains about Jack Fincham

OHMYGOSSIP — Dani Dyer has admitted that Jack Fincham is getting on her nerves.
The ‘Love Island’ winners moved in together just weeks after they won the £50,000 prize on the ITV reality TV show but Dani has admitted that Jack’s bedroom habits are getting on her nerves.
Hinting that she was thinking of her former home, where she lived with her parents Danny Dyer and Joanne Mas, she tweeted: “2 mins away from my home with him laying right there…. snoring and taking up all the bed (sic).”
Dani, 22, has previously admitted that she and Jack, 26, often argue but said that their love for each other was stronger than their differences.
She said: “Jack and I are only human and we’re not going to always agree on everything, but we love each other very much and always respect and support each other through everything.
“We really knew that’s what we wanted to do, and I honestly think it’s the best decision we made.”
Meanwhile, Jack previously confessed he only lasts “10 minutes or so” in the bedroom.
The former ‘Love Island’ star revealed how far he tends to go when he and girlfriend Dani Dyer get jiggy with it, after she had estimated he lasts around 15 minutes when they’re having fun.
During a game of Master and Miss on ‘Celebrity Juice’, host Keith Lemon asked Dani’s father Danny to pose a series of embarrassing questions to the pair.
The ‘EastEnders’ star asked his daughter how long it takes Jack to perform in the bedroom “to the nearest minute, on average?”
She replied: “Oh god, I don’t know,” and Jack said: “I can’t even make a joke, I can’t even make a joke. If I make a joke, he’s there.”
Danny then said: “You’re only cuddling ain’t ya?”
Dani nodded in agreement and then gave an answer of “15 minutes”, but an honest Jack said it was more like “10 minutes or so”.
Elsewhere on the show, Danny asked Jack what Dani calls her “lady bits”.
The former stationery salesman said: “Mate, what?”
Upon hearing Jack’s reluctance, ‘Football Factory’ star Danny said: “Good, good f***ing answer, well done. Congratulations … I like to think they’re called ‘out of bounds’ … but I know they’re not, so…”
Much to Danny’s delight, Jack replied: “I ain’t seen it, I don’t know.”
Jack previously admitted he bonded with Danny straight away, but is “scared” of his significant other’s mum .
He said: “I’m more scared of Dani’s mum.”
Dani added: “She is a bit scary.”
Jack and Dani got together on the latest series of ‘Love Island’ after pairing up with each other on the first day and they went on to win the show.

Former ‘Desperate Housewives’ star Eva and her husband Jose ‘Pepe’ Baston welcomed son Santiago five months ago and Eva has turned to Victoria – who has four children with her spouse David Beckham – for tips on parenting.
Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, she said: “Victoria is one of the best mums I know and through the pregnancy to now she has been giving such great advice.
“She’s in love with (Santiago) already. Her and David think he’s so delicious.
“It’s like another family affair! Nothing could prepare me for Santiago and it’s like my heart is walking around outside my body. It’s amazing.”
And Eva wants Victoria to be Santiago’s godmother.
She added: “My husband and I need to talk about this. In Mexico you have 18 godparents but it’s absolutely on the cards.”

She said: “[When I was pregnant], all my friends were like, ‘Just wait, just wait.’ I’m like, ‘I know, it’s going to be great.
“I mean, I get it, [it’ll be] life changing great.’ But every cliché that people told me, it’s like that times 10.”
And she is loving witnessing Santiago grow and learn new things.
She said: “For the first two months he was like a beautiful blob and now he’s, you know, grabbing and reacting and touching my face. Every stage is the best.”

Olly Murs wants to find love on The Voice

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs wants to find love on ‘The Voice’.
The unlucky-in-love singer joked that the only chance he has to find love is when he is working as a coach on the show and admitted that his single status is a big topic of conversation among his co-stars Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Jennifer Hudson.
He told the Sunday Mirror: “We talk about my love life a lot. It’s ¬become a bit of a running joke. Spinning these chairs could be the only way I ever could find love. It’s like speed dating. I only get to hear their voice so it would be love at first sight.”
However, he worries that he could get sacked for dating one of the contestants.
He said: “I don’t think I’m allowed to date contestants though. I think I would be sacked. But you never know. Crazier things have happened. It would be amazing if I did find love on ‘The Voice’.”
Olly, 34, has been single since he split up with Francesca Evans three years ago and he admitted he put his career before their relationship.
He told Fabulous magazine: “I was a young pop star, and what came with that was a lifestyle of me putting myself first. I don’t feel like I treated my ex-girlfriend badly – I treated her well, actually. It was a good relationship, but my priorities were different to what they would be if I was with someone now.
“I think if I could go back, I would have put her first more. When I got with her, ‘Troublemaker’ had just come out, which was like a f**king sky rocket, and it was selfish of me, but that was the way it was. I was on this f**king rocket and you only get one chance at this so you have to go there.”

Mollie King and Stuart Broad split again

OHMYGOSSIP — Mollie King and Stuart Broad have split up for a second time.
The former Saturdays singer recently split from the English cricketer, just two months after they rekindled their romance, and their busy schedules have one again been blamed for the break-up.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “They agreed to break up last week and the split was very amicable. They were just too busy for the relationship to work.”
While Stuart has been busy with his cricket commitments, Mollie is working hard as the new host of BBC Radio 1’s weekend breakfast show alongside Matt Edmondson.
The insider explained: “As well as Mollie’s commitments, Stuart is always away with England and is spending the next six weeks competing in Sri Lanka.”
Mollie had previously opened up about their relationship, explaining that the pair had been pals for years before getting together.
They initially dated for five months, before splitting up in September and reconciling soon afterwards.
She said: “We’ve been on a few dates and it’s very early days, but he’s absolutely lovely.
“We’ve known each other for years, although I can’t remember how we actually met.”
Mollie, 31, was previously in a relationship with model David Gandy and was also romantically linked with her ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ partner A.J. Pritchard.
Before embarking on romance with Mollie, Stuart, 32, had been single since his three-year relationship with lingerie model Bealey Mitchell ended in 2017.
Mollie – who has also been romantically linked with Prince Harry in the past – previously insisted she isn’t interested in playing games when it comes to love.

She said: “I think I fall in love very easily. Every decision, whether it’s my love life or my career, I lead with my heart instead of my head, which sometimes might not be the best thing.”

Keira Knightley is less self-conscious

OHMYGOSSIP — Keira Knightley is less self-conscious as an actress now she has children.
The 33-year-old star says there is “no embarrassment any more” when she’s on set now she is a mother to three-year-old Edie, who she has with James Righton.
She told Harper’s Bazaar magazine: “There’s that sense of, like, I don’t give a f**k. Once you’ve had that whole experience of leaking breasts everywhere and the messiness of it – there’s no control, it’s animalistic. I feel that in a funny way with acting it sort of helps; there is no embarrassment any more.”
Meanwhile, Keira previously revealed she had a “mental breakdown” when she was 22.
She explained: “I did have a mental breakdown at 22, so I did take a year off there and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder because of all that stuff. I went deep into therapy and all of that, and [a therapist] said, ‘It’s amazing – I normally come in here and have people that think people are talking about them and they think that they’re being followed, but actually they’re not. You’re the first person that actually that is happening to!’ I actually did hypnotherapy so that I could stand on the red carpet at the BAFTAs and not have a panic attack. The hypnotherapy worked because I did stand there and I didn’t have a panic attack.”
And the actress admitted the period following her early movie success such as ‘Bend it Like Beckham’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ was “insane” because although she was doing very well in her career, she only paid attention to the negative comments.
She said: “That run of films was completely insane. It’s amazing looking back at it from the outside — you’re like, ‘Whoa, that was hit after hit after hit!’ But, from the inside, all you’re hearing is the criticism, really … It was still very confusing, because you’re getting all these nominations for all of these things, but press-wise, when I’m going into interviews, people are still saying, ‘Everybody thinks you’re s**t,’ or focusing on your looks, or focusing on what’s wrong with you. And, again, I was [20] you can only hear the negative stuff.”

The ‘Big Little Lies’ star admits it can be tough balancing her career and her family life with her husband Keith Urban and their two children, Sunday, 10, and Faith, seven.
She said: “The thing you really have to learn when you have children and a career – and particularly when you’re an older mother – is the preciousness of time; and therefore trying to balance everything and be willing to say no to things. I want to be a good wife and a good mother, so that requires giving up things I want sometimes.”
Meanwhile, Nicole – who also has children Isabella, 24, and Connor, 22, whom she adopted with her former husband Tom Cruise – recently revealed she’s “passionate” about spending time with her family.
She said: “My big passion is just my family; my love. My daughter said to me, ‘You and Daddy kiss all the time.’ I thought, ‘That’s such a fantastic thing for your daughter to say to you.’ And that’s my passion. I know it’s a simple answer, but I’m deeply passionate about raising my children and being with my husband.”
And the blonde actress admitted she takes “nourishment and energy” from her husband.
She added: “To have an 11-year anniversary and still be so much in love as a man and a woman, that is my solace. That’s where I get so much of my comfort and my nourishment and energy from.”

Olly Murs isn’t immune to feelings

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs’ fame doesn’t make him “immune” to having feelings.
The ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ hitmaker – who has battled with anxiety in the past – has slammed those who believe famous singers and actors don’t have anything to worry about.
He told The Sun on Sunday’s Fabulous magazine: “I think sometimes, when you’re famous and you’re a celebrity, people are quite quick to go, ‘Well, you’ve got this, you’ve got that. What are you worried about?’ But being famous doesn’t make you immune to feelings. I’m a strong person. Jesus, you have to be strong in this industry, but that was my moment and I’ve no shame in the fact that I got help. I’m happy to talk about it because it affected me and I’m the most super-confident performer there is! I know there are a lot of people who go through a lot worse than me. What I’m trying to say to anyone reading this is don’t be afraid to talk about it. Will this happen again at some point in my life? Most likely, and I’ll deal with it again. At least I know now and I can recognise it and I’m not scared to talk to someone.”
Olly previously revealed he went to therapy over his anxiety.
The talent show star – who developed anxiety when he accidentally mixed up the judges’ scores and made a premature announcement that Monica Michael was being sent home on ‘The X Factor’ – said: “The papers didn’t laugh it off – they made a massive deal about it. The media attention, and the social media aspect, upset me the most. They really tried to take me to the cleaners. They tried to make me lose my job over a silly, small mistake. And when I went back to singing, it made me overthink what I was doing, ‘I’m going to forget the lyrics, what I’m doing … So that was something I needed to speak to a therapist about. And I’m not scared to admit that – that’s the stigma that men have.”
