Robbie Williams announces Las Vegas residency

OHMYGOSSIP — Robbie Williams has announced dates for his first Las Vegas residency.
The ‘Let Me Entertain You’ hitmaker is set to follow in the footsteps of fellow pop stars like Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and more by performing a solo run in Sin City in March 2019.
Robbie, 44, said: “I’m beyond excited to announce my first ever residency in Las Vegas. To follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest entertainers of all time is a dream come true – I can’t wait.”
Although the ‘X Factor’ judge has been a huge success – selling 57 million albums and 11 million singles all over the world – that hasn’t translated to making him a household name in the US.
His 1999 greatest hits collection ‘The Ego Has Landed’ sold a million copies in the states, but it wasn’t enough to convince him to keep pursuing it further.
He previously explained: “When I released my compilation album ‘The Ego Has Landed’ I went to America for two months to promote it.
“The album sold one million copies. That was not bad. But I don’t want to work that hard. I’ve concluded not to try it again.
“After that I did not promote any album in the US. A lot of fame can be exhausting. I would hardly be able to cope with it [in America].”
However, he’s still set to head over to play shows at Wynn Las Vegas on March 6, 8, 9, 13, 15 and 16 next year.
It’s sure to be a moving experience for Robbie, who has covered Vegas legends on his album ‘Swing When You’re Winning’ including the likes of Frank Sinatra and Bobby Darin, while his 2005 track ‘Me and My Monkey’ is set in the city and references the Mandalay Bay hotel on the strip.
Tickets for ‘Robbie Williams Live’ go on sale on Friday (16.11.18) at robbiewilliams.com/tickets.

Jean Paul Gaultier is finished with fur

OHMYGOSSIP — Jean Paul Gaultier has banned fur from his labels.
The 66-year-old luxury designer has made the decision to no longer use any animal pelts in any of his clothes and announced his new stance on French television declaring that the way living creatures are killed for their fur to be “absolutely deplorable”.
Mimi Bekhechi – director of international programmes at PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) – insists that Gaultier’s decision is a “sign of changed times” as people no longer want to wear fur.
She said: “This decision is a sign of changed times, as most people no longer wish to wear anything from animals who were cruelly caged, electrocuted, bludgeoned to death or caught in steel traps, left to die slowly and painfully.
“Fur today is as dead as the poor animals it was stolen from, and any designers not clued up enough to see that may as well hang up their sewing needles now.”
The decision follows long-standing campaigning by PETA to convince the French designer to ditch fur.
A memorable incident occurred in 2003 when a PETA protester stormed the runway of one of his fashion shows in 2003, prompting Gaultier’s assistant to throw a fur blanket over the activist.
The fashion house joins Burberry – who revealed that it would no longer manufacture animal products days before a fur-free London Fashion Week commenced – Gucci, Versace, Galliano, Armani, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, Vivienne Westwood, Fendi, Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney in banning fur from their clothing.

Celine Dion launching gender neutral kids clothes

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion is launching a gender neutral children’s clothing line.
The 50-year-old singer has announced the new venture on her Instagram account in a video which shows the songstress being wrestled to the ground by a police officer who pins her hands behind her back as she says: “It’s OK, it’s OK, I’m Celine Dion.”
It concludes with the name of her apparel brand Celinununu appearing across the screen and the web address.
In a separate Twitter post, Celine shared the same film with the caption, “Grand unveiling tomorrow.”
The shopping site went live on Tuesday (13.11.18) and a range of clothing that can be worn by boys and girls is available now with the aim of the brand being to celebrate “individuality through clothes”.
The website reads: “Celinununu unites two forces by one voice: fashion has the power to shape people’s minds. Inspire your children to be free and find their own individuality through clothes.”
This isn’t the musician’s first fashion endeavour and last year she launched her eponymous luxury line, which features handbags and other branded items.
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ singer has sons Nelson and Eddy, both eight, and 17-year-old René with her late husband René Angélil and previously boasted how “proud” her sons make he every day.
The iconic singer paid tribute to her “sweet boys” Nelson and Eddy as they turned eight-years-old in with an adorable snap of her three boys at their birthday party while Céline playfully holds up a mask to Eddy’s face.
She wrote on Instagram: “My sweet boys, you are turning 8 today and you make me proud every day. I love you with all my heart and wish you a very happy birthday! – Mom xx (sic)”

Viola Davis: I was invisible growing up

OHMYGOSSIP — Viola Davis felt “invisible” growing up.
The ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ star didn’t feel like she had a voice as a child and says it has taken a lot of “courage” to speak out, even now.
She said: “You know, I came from a story where I didn’t feel just less than or I just didn’t have a voice or not pretty. I felt invisible. I came from a long line of women who felt invisible. And they’re the ones who attempted to throw me an invisible rope. Courage is just fear said with prayers. And I feel that it takes a great deal of courage to hit bottom and feel invisible and then to share one’s story. But it’s in the sharing of the story in front of people who have empathy that kills shame. And once that shame is killed, guess what? You’re running. When I look at the zeitgeist today and look at what is happening with women in terms of sexual assault, in terms of poverty, in terms of politically what’s happening, I think to myself the change and the shift that needs to happen is the internal. It’s finding the courage to own one’s story.”
And the 53-year-old actress wants to encourage women to know their worth and not focus too much on being “perfect”.
In her acceptance speech, as she collected one of Glamour’s 2018 Women of the Year awards in New York City, she added: “To say and wake up one day and feel, like, ‘Damn, I’m not perfect. Sometimes I don’t feel pretty. Sometimes I don’t want to slay the dragon. Sometimes the dragon I’m slaying is myself, but damn it, I am worth it. I don’t have to barter for my worth. I don’t have to pay someone for it. I came out of my mom’s womb worthy.”

Leigh-Anne Pinnock felt invisible

OHMYGOSSIP — Leigh-Anne Pinnock felt “invisible” when Little Mix were starting out.
The ‘Black Magic’ hitmakers rose to fame on ‘The X Factor’ but the 27-year-old singer felt she was the least liked of the group for two years after they first found success but never thought it could be because of her skin colour.
She said: “During the first couple of years of being in the band, I did feel invisible. I remember crying to my manager regularly, I just couldn’t seem to find my place and didn’t know why. I didn’t feel like I had as many fans as the other girls. It was a strange feeling. I never thought that it was because I was the darkest member of the band. I felt overlooked. So I did everything to make myself more noticed, convinced I wasn’t good enough.”
However, now Leigh-Anne doesn’t “feel alone” anymore as she realises a lot of other women are feeling how she felt.
Slamming society’s “massive problem with racism”, she told ASOS magazine: “Now I don’t feel alone because I’ve seen lots of women speak out about this. I know there are girls of colour out there who have felt the same as me. We have a massive problem with racism which is built into our society. It’s scary. But the more people that speak out, the more change we can start to make.”
Meanwhile, Leigh-Anne previously insisted she doesn’t care about “negative comments” people make about Little Mix’s skimpy outfits.
She explained: “I think with us, we love to just wear what we want to wear. When we feel comfortable on stage, we’re not really interested in the negative comments that people are saying about them being provocative. I don’t even think they’re that provocative if I’m honest!”

Coronation Street’s Alya to be ‘busy working’ during Sair Khan’s I’m A Celeb stint

OHMYGOSSIP — Coronation Street’s Alya Nazir will be “busy working” while Sair Khan is on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 30-year-old actress has been confirmed for the reality series and she has revealed ‘Corrie’ bosses have been hugely supportive of her decision to appear on the programme, and they have been busily re-arranging a few episode schedules to fit everything in.
Sair said: “Alya will be busy working.”
The star is hoping she will depart the jungle with the nation knowing how to pronounce her name, because most people refer to her as “that girl from ‘Coronation Street’.”
She added: “I don’t think my profile is very high. I am very much a normal girl who has a great job.
“If I come out and people know how to pronounce my name, then I will be happy with that. At the moment, most of the time it is ‘that girl from Coronation Street’. ”
Sair admits she will return to work after having an “amazing experience” when her stint on the show comes to an end, but she doesn’t think she has any chance of being named Queen of the Jungle.
She added: “There is no chance I am going to win whatsoever.
“I don’t think it is about the winning. Just to be able to do those amazing trials is winning to me. This is a chance to do something different. There is no pressure on me.
“Afterwards I will go back to work having had an amazing experience.”

Emily Blunt’s dancing problems on Mary Poppins

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt struggled with the dancing scenes in ‘Mary Poppins Returns’.
The 35-year-old actress has confessed the moves were a “daunting prospect” for her playing the titular magical nanny in Disney’s upcoming sequel to 1964 classic ‘Mary Poppins’, and although she’s proud of her performance she accepts that “no one is going to outdo” the film’s original lead, Dame Julie Andrews.
When asked what the most challenging thing about the iconic role is, she told Collider: “The dancing, probably. I feel that I just try to approach her as I would any other character and not be caught up in the white noise of, ‘Oh my God, you are Mary Poppins.’
“I think that has been my main focus, is just to approach her calmly, as I would any other character, how I would play her, with what I have given on the page?
“I have not watched the original since I saw it as a child, because I … no one is going to outdo Julie Andrews. This is just going to be my version her. The dancing has been the most daunting prospect for me.”
The ‘A Quiet Place’ star “took great comfort” in the original flick growing up and admitted that “it’s very surreal” to be portraying such a beloved and iconic character in pop culture.
She said: “I think Mary Poppins as a character is so iconic, and I think the film, for me, and I think for most people, is one of those films that is sort of seared into people’s memory, an emblem of their nostalgia in many ways.
“So I do remember it very fondly and took such a great comfort in it as a child, that was something that struck me of that person coming in and so capable and so magical, and just sweeping it all up and making it right. I took a lot of comfort in that as a child, so I think we are trying to, obviously, continue that now too with our film. It’s very surreal to me being Mary Poppins.”

Ariana Grande relies on British beauty product for glow

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande uses ICONIC London Illuminator drops to get her signature glow.
The 25-year-old pop superstar used the British beauty brand’s product to create her shining complexion in the video for her hit single ‘Breathin’ and her makeup artist, Rokael Lizama, claims the “bomb” highlighter gives a “stand-out gloss” which he finishes with an ICONIC Prep Set Glow setting spray.
Speaking to Miss Vogue, she said: “I love using ICONIC London’s Illuminator drops because they are the perfect texture to melt into her skin and give the most intense highlight.
“It doesn’t look chalky on the skin either which is amazing – it really gives a stand-out gloss. I also used my favourite ICONIC Prep Set Glow spray all over Ariana’s face and decolletage to finish the look for ‘Breathin.’ They’re so bomb!”
The beauty expert – who is also responsible for Beyonce’s ‘On The Run II’ tour makeup – revealed that the reason extravagant highlighters have become the latest beauty trend, is because the product gives the effect of “healthy, luminous skin”.
Rokael said: “I think we are hooked on highlighters because it gives the effect of healthy, luminous skin and who doesn’t want that?!
“They can be versatile – ICONIC’s Illuminator can lend light to lacklustre complexions; be blended in to your foundation, primer or moisturiser; or used on its own for a real shine.”
Rokael explained that to create the best glowing look the highlight should be mixed with foundation and applied with a cosmetics sponge.
She said: “Simply mix one or two drops of the ICONIC Illuminator in with your foundation and apply with a Beauty Blender. This will create a beautiful ‘soft focus’ effect to the skin and leave a glowing complexion.”

Ashley Graham’s boob tape trouble

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Graham can’t use boob tape properly.
The 31-year-old American model shared an amusing series of videos on her Instagram account showing herself trying to make her boobs look perkier by using sticky tape – a trick the likes of Kim Kardashian West and Cardi B swear by – however the hack just wouldn’t work for the curvaceous beauty.
Ashley posted a topless video showing her left breast completely covered in what appears to be duct tape.
Speaking in the video, she said: “Kim tried it, Cardio B tried it, I’m trying the tape I just don’t know I just don’t know how this is gonna work.”
The catwalk star then reached out to her fans and asked whether they had any advice on how to properly enhance your chest using the tape trick.
She said: “Have you done this? And if so I don’t feel like I did it right, Jordan really tried, she didn’t do a bad job but I feel like I’m defeating the purpose.”
She captioned the video “please send help” and fans were quick to jump in and offer their tips on how to properly tape your breasts.
One follower said: “You need to use proper boob tape! It looks like your just using duct tape?! That must hurt!”
Another fan suggested: “You need to start from lower on the body – you’re using too much aswell – Love you though Ashley you look gorgeous!xx (sic)”
Meanwhile, rapper Cardi B has come up with a handy method to remove the tape after use without hurting her nipples.
She previously said: “In order for me to take if off I use baby oil because you don’t want to rip off your nipples.”

Halsey debuts new poem on women

OHMYGOSSIP — Halsey has used her poetry to speak out about ‘Inconvenient Women’.
The ‘Closer’ hitmaker shared her musings at the Glamour’s 2018 Women of the Year Summit, with the new piece of poetry focusing on inequality for women in the home, in the work place and the wider world.
She shared: “Brutally honest, outspoken and fearless / Goes with their gut, never favours appearance / ‘Cause who has time for vanity with opponents to extinguish? / And don’t you think that hint of silver hairline is…distinguished? / In men? All these qualities, they make you a genius. / But if you’re a woman, you’re an inconvenience …
“So, if you’re offended, and viewing at home / I’m here to say that I’m not sorry / For being… inconvenient. / You were not put on this earth to make everybody else’s life easier./ So please, be inconvenient.”
Meanwhile, Halsey previously revealed she hates being called a pop star.
She said: “Kendrick [Lamar] has done a Maroon 5 feature, a Taylor Swift feature and a Sia feature – which is more pop features than I’ve done. And no one’s calling him a pop star. But I’m being called one, even though I’m inherently an alternative artist. I don’t know if it’s a male thing, I don’t know if it’s an urban thing. I don’t know what it is. But if you’re a female alternative artist and you do anything that’s even slightly pop leaning, it’s condemning.”

Tom Felton’s fan offered to adopt him

OHMYGOSSIP — A fan offered to legally adopt Tom Felton – if he changed his name to Draco Malfoy.
The ‘Harry Potter’ star – who played antagonist Draco in the hit movie series – has revealed one fan went the extra mile to show their dedication to both the film and him.
He said: “I’ve got some very strange letters. One man wanted to adopt me. He had changed his name legally to Lucius Malfoy and wanted me to change my name to Draco Malfoy and to legally adopt me. I declined!”
And that is not the only bizarre letters he has received.
Speaking to Yahoo Movies UK, he added: “I’ve got some angry Americans tell me, ‘Leave Harry Potter alone man! What did he ever do to you?’ but are deadly serious in how they deliver it. They seem to think I had some kind of influence on [JK] Rowling’s writing!”
Tom has some very dedicated fans and previously revealed there is one middle-aged woman who has been following him around the world for nine years.
He said: “It’s strange and if the genders were reversed, with a 50-year-old man supporting an 18-year-old girl, it would put up some warning signs. But for her, being a ‘Harry Potter’ fan and meeting the cast has given her a sense of purpose and joy – and that’s not to be looked down on … She came to mind when we did the programme [‘Tom Felton Meets the Superfans’]. It was a chance to dig into her personal story and meet her. She’s a sweet person, there’s no malice behind it, but at the same time it’s not something I fully understand and my mum still has her worries about people who talk to me as if they have known me for years.”

Ronda Rousey has ‘tourist’ schedule in WWE

OHMYGOSSIP — Ronda Rousey has a “tourist” schedule in WWE.
The former UFC champion and blockbuster movie star admitted that while she is fully committed after making the decision to enter the world of wrestling, she knows she isn’t on the same level of some of the company’s top stars.
Speaking to the PWI Podcast, Ronda said: “Being on the road and everything has given me a lot more respect for what everybody else does. I mean, honestly, when I came into this, I thought everybody just wrestled once a week!
“I just thought they showed up at ‘Raw’ or ‘SmackDown [Live]’ and that was it. I didn’t even know that there were live shows throughout the week! I mean, and these people just go nonstop.
“Like, I have nowhere near the schedule that everybody else has. Like, if I’m on a week of live shows, it takes me a week to recover from it. If anything, I have the super easy tourist version.”
Ronda – who made her debut alongside Kurt Angle at ‘WrestleMania 34’ in a winning bout against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon -admitted she has an “easier” time of it than some of her co-workers, as she primarily just does the weekly broadcast of ‘Raw’ and the pay-per-views.
However, as a longtime fan of the industry, the 31-year-old superstar feels she owes it to herself – and others who haven’t got the same opportunities – to make the most of her chances.
She added: “I’m very aware of how privileged I’ve been from lot of people who worked their entire lives just to get somebody to take one look at them.
“And from day one, I don’t know anything and I have, like, Triple H telling me how to tie my shoe. Like, Triple H taught me how to tie my boots! Like, that is insane.
“I think it would be spitting in the face of every woman that would want this opportunity to not take full advantage of it.”

Emily Atack looking for love on I’m A Celebrity

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Atack is open to romance on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’
The former ‘Inbetweeners’ actress has confirmed she isn’t in a relationship at the moment, and while she would be up for some potential jungle loving, she admitted life in camp could mean nobody is at their most attractive while they are Down Under.
She said: “I am single at the moment. And never say never [to finding a romance in the camp].
“We are in a situation where we are all not going to smell our best, nor look our best and I can’t really imagine it happening but hey, who knows?! It’s a bit of fun!”
The 28-year-old star is heading into the jungle because she wanted to “flip things on the head” and try a new and thrilling experience.
She explained: “I am at an age where I want to flip things on the head and do something mad and exciting. And this is definitely very exciting!
“I couldn’t say no. I don’t have any real phobias but I don’t like creepy crawlies just like everyone else.”
While Emily admitted this will be her toughest challenge to date, she is “up for it” and looking forward to embracing the show to the fullest.
On the subject of winning, she said: “Wow, that would be amazing. But it is very hard to think about that far down the line.”
While winning isn’t on her mind just yet, Emily revealed she will give support to her campmates when they need a shoulder to cry on, and she intends to give them plenty to laugh about.
She added: “All I ever want to do is have fun and a laugh. I would like to hope people will come to me if they are having a bad day in the camp. I am a very supportive person and that’s the role I hope to play in there.”
Viewers can also expect her to treat everyone to some of her trademark impressions after her ‘Love Island’ impersonations went viral this summer.
She teased: “I definitely think doing some impressions is a huge possibility! It’s something I do! If I don’t dare do it to their faces, I will certainly be doing it in the Bush Telegraph.”

Malique Thompson-Dwyer: It’ll be nice to have Hollyoaks break

OHMYGOSSIP — Malique Thompson-Dwyer is looking forward to having a “little break” from ‘Hollyoaks’ when he takes part in ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The 20-year-old star is taking some time out from the Channel 4 soap – on which he plays Prince McQueen – to appear in the Australian jungle-based show after a recent “full-on” filming schedule.
He said: “I have been quite full on with filming on ‘Hollyoaks’ recently so it’s going to be nice to have a little break – but obviously a very different kind of break!
“I am taking some time out to do this but when I have finished, I will be back. It’s nice to go on ‘I’m A Celebrity’ as me rather than as my character, Prince.”
Malique is hoping he can do the ‘Hollyoaks’ fans and his family “proud” Down Under.
Speaking on the show’s official Instagram account, he said: “My ‘Hollyoaks’ people, I really want to do you guys proud, my mum proud, my family proud, and just the Hollyoaks village.”
While Malique is excited about getting started on the show, he is feeling “nervous” because he has so many phobias.
He added: “I’m excited but nervous, too. I’ve got a phobia of insects, spiders, and stuff like that, rodents, rats and snakes. Everything really.
“The one thing I’ll probably be scared of is probably the heights, because I get really nauseous being on balconies and stuff like that, so I can imagine what I’m going to be like flying from a plane.”

Janet Street-Porter reveals I’m A Celebrity producers influence

OHMYGOSSIP — Janet Street-Porter claims ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ producers kept asking her to get Paul Burrell to spill royal family secrets on the show.
The 71-year-old journalist appeared on the programme in 2004 alongside Princess Diana’s former butler, and she has revealed how bosses tried to get her to encourage her campmate to open up about his time in the Royal Household.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Loose Women’, the panellist said: “He said he didn’t wanna talk about the queen or the royal family, and the producers kept taking me off the diary hut saying, ‘Get him to talk about Diana!’ It wasn’t that difficult.”
Janet appeared on the show alongside the likes of comedian and series winner Joe Pasquale, ‘Starsky & Hutch’ actor Antonio Fargas and former supermodel Sophie Anderton, but besides her famous friend Vic Reeves, she hadn’t heard of any of her camp mates.
She said: “When they unveiled them in the hotel before we went in, I had no idea who any of them were.”
Janet – who claimed she took charge of the cooking in the jungle so she could “control” the portions at meal time, to stop greedy co-stars taking too much – explained the worst part of the experience was the constant bickering.
She said: “My problem was they never stopped talking, and there was all this fighting.”
Meanwhile, her ‘Loose Women’ co-star Stacey Solomon – who won the show in 2012 – admitted the stench was awful by the time she left the jungle.
She said: “Nothing could’ve smelled worse than what I smelled [like] on my way out of the jungle.
“But when we left, they were almost saying we weren’t going be able to get out of the jungle because the floods were so bad.”

Kevin Willmott is proud BlacKkKlansman reflects current political problems

OHMYGOSSIP — BlacKkKlansman’ writer Kevin Willmott is “pleased” he could make a film that reflected the current political climate of the US.
The American drama explores present-day racial issues through its true story of an African-American police officer who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan and the 59-year-old director thinks “this is a really historic time” and he’s glad his film could shed light on some of the “scary” issues the country is facing in his opinion under President Donald Trump.
Speaking at the Producers Guild of America’s Produced By panel in New York City on Saturday (10.11.18), he said: “This is a really historic time. I think we are living in a moment that is not an ordinary time, it’s a time that people look back and they’ll say, ‘Wow, that’s when it happened.
“That was when it was either going to go to hell or it was going to come back.’ And this is a critical time, I think in the history of country, and I’m just pleased that we were able to make a film that reflected what happened in the country.
“You’ve got a nationalist as the leader of the United States and he’s demonised whole groups of people every day. And this is not normal. And it’s a scary time.”
Willmott believes that “hate has become a part of the mainstream” and expressed his disbelief the current political landscape in America.
He said: “That kind of hate has become a part of the mainstream and it’s in the White House right now … I think if we had tried to write this and said this is what’s happening. People would be all, ‘What? Are you kidding? This is crazy. You can’t expect us to buy this crap?’ And it’s happened.”
