Sophie Turner is constantly switching her handbag style

OHMYGOSSIP — Sophie Turner’s handbag styles vary depending on the occasion.
The Louis Vuitton ambassador features in a new campaign for the brand’s Neverfull Inside Out MM bag and explains that her style can switch drastically from day to day.
Sophie – who has daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two, with her former husband Joe Jonas – told Women’s Wear Daily: “When I’m working or travelling or with my kids… everything, including the kitchen sink. But when I’m just popping to lunch with a friend, I like to keep it minimal.”
The ‘Game of Thrones’ star explained that some items in her bag are always essential.
Sophie, 28, said: “Always cough drops, my wallet, lip balm and headphones. Can’t go anywhere without music.”
The actress explained that she likes to match her “versatile” handbag to the outfit she is wearing on the day.
Turner said: “I’ll be flipping it inside and out every other day. It’s so versatile. It goes with anything.”
She also quipped that the Neverfull MM bag does precisely what its name promises.
Sophie said: “It literally never gets full, I could pack my entire bedroom into this bag. But that’s in the name.”
The ‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ star revealed earlier this year that she is a big fan of the French girl aesthetic first adopted by style icons Jane Birkin and Brigitte Bardot, although her struggles with attention deficit disorder (ADD) mean it is often a lengthy process for her to get the look.
She told InStyle: “It is an extensive process and it takes a long time for me because I just can’t get it together. I’m ADD, so it takes me a while. I love the French girl aesthetic, especially for the summer – cool, chic, kind of effortless looking. For me it takes a hell of a lot of effort to look nice. It does take me a really long time to nail it.”

Lesley Manville ‘shrieked’ when she landed fashion campaign

OHMYGOSSIP — Lesley Manville “shrieked” with joy when she landed a campaign for Loewe because she has “always” loved fashion.
The 68-year-old actress became the face of the fashion brand’s autumn/winter 2024 collection alongside another Hollywood star – Daniel Craig – who starred in adverts for the men’s range and Lesley has now revealed she was utterly delighted to be given such a prestigious job.
She told The Times newspaper: “When my agent told me, apparently I just shrieked. She said, ‘I’ve never seen you so happy.’ I suppose it’s because it’s a departure. But it’s definitely, definitely because I love clothes. That’s how I treat myself.”
Lesley added her love of fashion dates back to when she was a teenager, adding: “Always have [loved fashion]. Since I was a kid. I remember with my first week’s wages, when I was 16 and doing a musical in the West End, I was earning £30 a week, which was a lot of money.
“I bought myself – it’s very unethical, and obviously I wouldn’t do it now, but at the time it wasn’t – a white rabbit fur coat.”
Previous models for Loewe have included acting veterans Sir Anthony Hopkins and Dame Maggie Smith/
Lesley has previously cited Kate Bush and Stevie Nicks as her fashion idols and revealed she’s always looked a bit “bohemian”.
She told W magazine: “I grew up in Brighton, on the south coast of England, which is a little bit bohemian, a little bit hippie.
“So I just adored Stevie Nicks, I used to wear all that floaty stuff, like Kate Bush. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve probably got more sophisticated and maybe a bit more elegant.
“But not stuffy – I still want it to be a little bit edgy. At the moment, I’m into nice, clean, baggy trousers with a nice shirt or something silk on top. I’ll definitely do a great Christian Dior jacket with a pair of seemingly casual trousers.
“I don’t want to look like ‘Mrs. Middle-Class Conventional’. There was a period when I was much more, rolled-up jeans and a smock-y top, but that’s when I had a young kid around.
“That’s the great thing about fashion – there’s so much influence out there, and it’s always evolving.”

Anitta wants people to ‘learn’ about the environment with her fashion range

OHMYGOSSIP — Anitta wants people to “learn” about the environment with her new fashion range.
The Brazillian-born pop star, 31, has launched her new 75-piece evoluSHEIN x Anitta collection and noted that the whole venture is “very important” to her because of how she wants to teach others about sustainability.
She told US TV show ‘Extra”: “This collection is very important to be, because it brings the different fabric and the idea of sustainability and using fabrics that are not so aggressive to the environment… It’s a subject I really care about because Brazil has such big nature. I like the idea of showing different people and their cultures. I think this brings also information — people can learn with the way you dress.”
The ‘Envolver’ hitmaker has also tried to incorporate her passion for inclusivity into her shows and music videos as she always tries to employ dancers with a range of different body types.
She said: “I bring my dancers and all types of bodies with me in my music videos, on stage. I like to bring all the different types of beauties we should admire and I like to admire, and I think Shein has a lot of that. In my collection, we have all the different sizes and all the different shapes and styles.”
The ‘Hitpig!’ star – who has eight MTV Europe Music Awards and was the first Brazilian artist to be named Best Latin American Act – has released six studio albums so far but was quick to point out that success did not come overnight for her.
She said: “When you really want something and you love something, you have to put in effort for it. And I’m putting the effort. I’m really glad with what’s happening in my career.”

Chris Stapleton teams with Filson on 595 dollar jacket

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Stapleton has teamed up with Filson on a new $595 jacket.
The country singer has collaborated with the brand for the second year in a row to create the Chris Stapleton Signature Mackinaw Cruiser to mark the 110th anniversary of the Cruiser.
For this version, Filson used blue plaid deadstock fabric from its archives, which has been dormant for 40 years.
According to WWD Chris, a lifelong wearer of Filson, said: “Being a longtime admirer of Filson, I saw an opportunity to collaborate and bring back an old pattern I loved.
“It’s rare people build things that last a real lifetime — I love Filson stuff because it’s made to live longer than I will.”
The Cruiser first debuted during the 1897 Alaska Gold Rush, and C.C. Filson – the brand’s founder – patented the design in 1914.
The jacket has been largely uncharged since then, keeping front buttons and nine pockets, as well as a full-width pocket on the back to store maps.
Alex Carleton, chief creative officer of Filson, added: “Chris Stapleton’s personal connection to Filson and his genuine appreciation for our heritage make this creative partnership especially meaningful.
“Reuniting together to create his Signature Mackinaw Cruiser #2 is a celebration of both Filson’s rich history and Chris’ commitment to quality and authenticity.”
The new Cruiser will launch on September 26, while Filson and Chris have also worked on a limited edition Outlaw State of Kind t-shirt for $50, with proceeds going to Chris and his wife Morgan’s charity.
Last year, the collaboration resulted in the Traveller Collection, which took its name from the musician’s debut album which he dropped in 2015.

Janet Jackson favours ‘comfortable clothing’ these days despite her status as a fashion icon

OHMYGOSSIP — Janet Jackson prefers to wear “comfortable” clothing these days.
The 58-year-old singer has become known for wearing suits throughout the decades of her music career and while she “never thought” she would ever be recognised for her fashion choices, admitted that these days she prefers to dress down when she is away from the cameras.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Loose Women’ “I never thought…I just like my sweats and then I have to do something…I’ve always been into suits since I was a kid. I would put on a suit and a bow tie and felt more comfortable that way. Now, it’s all about comfort.”
The ‘Rock With U’ hitmaker is currently on the road with the ‘Together Again Tour’ and recently revealed that she has to have three people backstage with her to help with her quick costume changes.
Speaking on BBC Radio 2’s ‘Zoe Ball Breakfast Show’, she explained to stand-in host Scott Mills: “Well, I have three people helping me, actually, someone at my feet that’s changing my shoes, and someone that’s changing and I also help myself. And even then, sometimes it’s a race against time.
Janet added: “Sometimes I have not cleared the audience from seeing me, you run as quickly as you can to your quick change. And there were times when I had to undress a little bit before I got to my quick change, or I would not have made the change in time. So you start to unzip … I mean, you don’t take anything off, but you start to unzip things to make it go a little quicker.”

Kate Moss’ rise to fame ‘panicked’ the supermodels

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Moss’ rise to fame in the 1990s led to a “panic” among the era’s most famous models because they feared they were being replaced.
The 50-year-old catwalk star got her big break modelling for Calvin Klein in the mid-1990s but she’s revealed her deal with the brand sparked worry and anger among her peers as they were concerned about their place on the catwalk.
During an appearance in new Disney Plus documentary ‘In Vogue: The 1990s’, Kate explained: “I am mentioning no names! There was definitely a bit of ‘She has come along what’s going to happen to us’, they knew.
“My first season at the shows I was a bit intimidated, they just seemed giants to me and I was scrawny and quite shy. But then Christy [Turlington] and Naomi [Campbell] took me under their wing.”
Fellow supermodel Tyra Banks revealed Kate represented a new look for models and it led to a lot of concern among the big names of the time. She explained: “We weren’t getting booked any more.
“I remember being backstage of a fashion show in New York City and all the ‘super’ were like, ‘Oh my god Calvin [Klein] didn’t book any of us, Calvin didn’t book any of us’. I remember the panic in all those supermodels’ faces.”
Linda Evangelista previously spoke about the new models who came onto the scene in the 1990s but denied the original supermodels felt threatened by them.
Speaking in Apple TV Plus documentary ‘The Super Models’, Linda explained: “You have a hockey team, you don’t retire the whole team all at once, you bring in rookies one at a time, I mean it’s really nice to see these new girls”.
‘In Vogue: The 1990s’ shines a light on designers as well as models and in the film, Stella McCartney revealed she was hated by fellow students at fashion school after she got the world’s most famous supermodels to walk in her graduate show.
The designer – daughter of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney – studied her craft at the famous Central Saint Martins university in London and she blew away the competition by using her showbiz connections to get superstars including Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss to appear in her end of term show while other students just used their friends instead of professional models.
Speaking in the documentary, Stella explained: “All the other students were choosing their models, then they were getting their mates. I had mates, but my mates were the supermodels.
“I was like, ‘Everyone’s gonna hate me if I do that …’ but life’s too short, and they were genuinely my mates. Those girls were the hottest girls on the planet. “They were doing every show in every city, and they did a little college fashion show, for me. That was amazing …
“As [I was] the child of such famous people, it became this whole drama. I was like, ‘Agghhh, get me out of here’.”

Kate Winslet won’t shop anymore

OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Winslet has vowed not to “go into shops” anymore.
The ‘Lee’ actress – who has Mia, 24, and Joe, 21, from previous marriages, and Bear, 11, with husband Edward Abel Smith – finds it too “stressful” going out to buy new clothes, so she is happy just to accept her son’s cast-offs or pick up items from something she’s worked on if she wants to add to her wardrobe.
She told Harper’s Bazaar UK for their ‘Life Lessons’ series: “My personal style, in a funny way, has not evolved much. I’ve always been a jeans, comfy t-shirt and nice jacket sort of girl.
“I have made a decision recently that I am not going to go into shops anymore. I find them stressful.
“When something new comes into my life it’s usually from a shoot or it’s something my son doesn’t want to wear anymore, usually an oversized jacket.”
The 48-year-old star is happy to dress up when she’s on the red carpet, but comfort is still her priority or else she can’t enjoy the event.
She said: “That’s a critical thing I’ve learned. When you’re on a red carpet, you’re wearing a dress that is corseted and boned, and you must stand and pose and sit in it for very long periods of time.
“It’s important to feel comfortable, otherwise you’re wishing the occasion away, desperately want[ing] to get home and put your pyjamas on, and that’s not the right way to feel.”
Kate believes beauty is “more than a feeling” and it is important to “take care of youself from the inside”.
She said: “I also have learned it’s important to take care of yourself from the inside – not just how you eat and look after yourself from a nutritional standpoint, but how you look after yourself from a mental wellness standpoint; how you feel about yourself emotionally, physically, your place within the world, how you walk through the world, how you live with integrity and sincerity.
“I think these things matter and these things come out in how we look, and of course in how we feel. Beauty is more of a feeling, rather than what we look at.”

Cindy Crawford is Good American’s American Icon

OHMYGOSSIP — Cindy Crawford believes finding the “perfect fit” of jeans is so important.
The 58-year-old supermodel has been unveiled as the first of Good American’s new American Icons and she praised the band for helping so many different body types find the right style of denimwear for their shape.
She told WWD: “I wear jeans pretty much everyday and I love how versatile they can be. They’re easy to dress down with a T-shirt and flip flops but throw on a jacket and heels and I can pretty much go anywhere. It’s fun to experiment with different silhouettes as well.
“Finding your perfect fit is so important. I’m always up for experimenting with different silhouettes, but it really comes down to the cut and comfort of the jeans.
“Good American has managed to perfect the fit of their denim for different body types without having to sacrifice style or comfort.”
Cindy particularly appreciates that Good American – which was co-founded by Khloe Kardashian and Emma Grede – celebrates inclusivity.
She said: “I love the fact that Good American is committed to representing women of all shapes and sizes.
“Historically, fashion has left many of these women out of the conversation, making them feel left out or unable to be part of the fashion moment.”
And the model hopes she is remembered for helping women to “embrace their unique beauty and strength”.
She said: “When I first started out, there were only a handful of women that were modeling in magazines and a very narrow definition of what was considered ‘beautiful’.
“The generation of models before me were mostly blond-haired and blue-eyed. I didn’t look like them with my brown hair and even a beauty mark that my first modeling agency told me to remove.
“I’ve always hoped my success helped to create space for women to embrace their unique beauty and strength, and my hope is that young women especially see that success comes not from fitting into a mold but from knowing that individuality is their superpower.”

Victoria Beckham spends five minutes a day on her make-up

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham spends just five minutes a day doing her make-up.
The Spice Girls star launched her self-named beauty brand back in 2019 as an expansion of her fashion house and she’s now revealed she barely spends any time at all fixing her face – preferring to forgo foundation and focus on key areas using products from her own line.
She told Hello! Fashion: “I aim to do it within five minutes, which means I apply the concealer and blend with my fingers. I fill in my brows and use FeatherFix Liquid Brow Gel to keep them in place.
“Then I apply a Satin Kajal liner and lashings of our Vast Lash mascara. For lips, I usually use Lip Definer in 02, and finish with Posh Balm for a barely-there tinted sheen.”
When asked about other parts of her daily routine, Victoria revealed she often uses a bowl of iced water to freshen up her complexion.
She said: “[Skin expert] Melanie Grant says if I feel a bit puffy when I wake up in the morning, to stick my head in a bowl of ice cold water, and I do this often, especially after a couple of glasses of red wine the night before!”
Victoria also revealed she starts her day with apple cider vinegar and a green smoothie – shared with her husband David. She added: “I have a few rituals that I do to support my everyday health, like a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar on an empty stomach in the morning.
“Then David and I usually have a green smoothie. We add spinach, broccoli, celery, cucumber, avocado, apple, lemon and ginger, so it’s anti-inflammatory and full of antioxidants and fibre.”

Stella McCartney was hated by fashion pals after starry graduate show

OHMYGOSSIP — Stella McCartney was hated by fellow students at fashion school after she got the world’s most famous supermodels to walk in her graduate show.
The fashion designer – daughter of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney – studied her craft at the famous Central Saint Martins university in London and she blew away the competition by using her showbiz connections to get superstars including Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss to appear in her end of term show while other students just used their friends instead of professional models.

“They were doing every show in every city, and they did a little college fashion show, for me. That was amazing …
“As [I was] the child of such famous people, it became this whole drama. I was like, ‘Agghhh, get me out of here’.”
Naomi said of the student show: “I don’t think anyone’s ever had a graduation like that. I’ve never seen any graduate from St Martins have their collection on the front cover of every single newspaper.”
Kate added: “We were just hanging out in Notting Hill, going to the same bars or restaurants or whatever, and I didn’t know she [Stella] was a McCartney.
“Then I saw her driving around in a Mercedes, and I was like, ‘She’s at college. How could she afford that?’ Then she told me – and then she asked me to do her graduate show.”
After the backlash over the show, Stella landed a huge job at Chloe taking over from design legend Karl Lagerfeld and she’s revealed he wasn’t pleased about her appointment.
In the documentary, Stella explained: “[Karl said] ‘I knew they’d take a big name to fill my boots, but I thought they’d use a big name in fashion, not music’ … Oooof, b****!”

Sarah Burton named Givenchy creative director

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Burton has been appointed creative director at Givenchy.
The 50-year-old designer – who left Alexander McQueen after 26 years last September – will be introduced to atelier workers at Avenue George V this week and is expected to present her first designs for the fashion house during Paris Fashion Week next March.
Sidney Toledano, chairman of the Givenchy board, told WWD in a statement: “Sarah Burton is an exceptional creative talent whose work I have passionately followed for many years. I am very glad that she is joining Givenchy today.
“Her unique vision and approach to fashion will be invaluable to this iconic maison, known for its audacity and haute couture.
“I am convinced that her creative leadership will contribute to the future success and international standing of the maison.”
Sarah becomes Givenchy’s eighth designer and second female couturier and she’s hailed it a “great honour” to be working with the “iconic” brand.
She said in her own statement: “It is a great honour to be joining the beautiful house of Givenchy, it is a jewel.
“I am so excited to be able to write the next chapter in the story of this iconic house and to bring to Givenchy my own vision, sensibility and beliefs.”
A fastidious fashion technician prized for dramatic tailoring and intricate, yet empowering dresses, Burton was rarely seen backstage without straight pins stored in her sweater sleeves, and a big pair of scissors shoved in a back pocket.
She follows in the footsteps of the late Lee Alexander McQueen, who designed Givenchy from 1996 to 2001, when luxury kingpin Bernard Arnault began revving up European heritage brands with powerful fashion talents.
Burton’s appointment completes a new duo at the brand following the July appointment of Alessandro Valenti as the new chief executive officer. He joined Givenchy from Louis Vuitton, where he was most recently president of Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Burton and Valenti will be charged with igniting a renaissance at the storied house, which has lagged the rapid growth charted by the likes of Celine and Loewe, which are also controlled by French luxury giant LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.
Sarah’s appointment comes after Matthew M. Williams ended his three-year tenure with Givenchy at the end of 2023.
Sarah joined Alexander McQueen in 1996 as an intern and returned after her graduation the following year.
In 2000, she was handed the role of head of womenswear and was appointed creative director following Lee McQueen’s suicide in 2010.
She famously designed the wedding dress for the then-Kate Middleton, now Catherine, Princess of Wales, for her 2011 nuptials to Prince William and has also made gowns for the likes of Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Cate Blanchett.

Oasis star Liam Gallagher has been unveiled as the new face of Stone Island

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Gallagher has been unveiled as the new face of Stone Island.
The 51-year-old singer is known for having sported a parka as part of his signature look since shooting to fame as part of Oasis in the 1990s so he has now teamed up with the luxury fashion house that specialises in men’s outerwear after years of wearing their designs.
In the new photoshoot, Liam wore the brand’s Jock jacket which follows an anorak style and is emblazoned with the signature compass badge on the left-hand sleeve.
In a Q+A accompanying the shoot, Liam was asked how he feels about “modern” approaches to life, and whether he prefers things that are of a more “classic” taste nowadays.
He said: “All this new stuff doesn’t do it for me. It all stems from the past, which is classic.”
The ‘Wonderwall’ hitmaker is part of the brand’s ongoing ‘Community as a Form of Research’ project alongside other famous faces such as DJ Peggy Gou, actor Russell Tovey, and skateboarder Sage Elsesser.
Liam got his first Stone Island coat when he was just seven years old and after an incident in 2017 that saw his a load of favourite jackets stolen from his hotel whilst he was playing a gig, put out a public appeal to get them back.
He tweeted: “To the c***who stole my stone island parkas from my hotel room while I was playing Glastonbury hand them over all will be forgiven LG.”
The news of Liam’s fashion collaboration comes amid a massive reunion between himself and his brother Noel as the pair announced plans for a 2025 stadium tour.
Tickets went on sale at 8am in Ireland and 9am in the UK on Saturday (31.08.24) but many fans were left frustrated as ticket sites crashed due to the huge demand.
Many tickets were quickly advertised on resale sites at hugely inflated prices, leading Oasis to issue a warning to fans.
A message on Oasis’ X account read: “Please note. Oasis Live ’25 tickets can only be resold at face value via TicketmasterUK and Twickets! Tickets appearing on other secondary ticketing sites are either counterfeit or will be cancelled by the promoters.”

David Gandy explains why women in fashion should always be paid more than men

OHMYGOSSIP — David Gandy thinks women in fashion should always be paid more than men.
The 44-year-old catwalk star has spent years modelling for top brands including Dolce and Gabbana, Hugo Boss, and Carolina Herrera, but admitted that as one of the few men in his industry against the likes of Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, his female contemporaries should “of course” earn more money because they traditionally have a bigger audience.
Speaking on UK TV show ‘Lorraine’, he said: “Not many men had broken that glass ceiling in a very female-dominated industry. It was the likes of Naomi and Kate, and Christy Turlington that I aspired to.
“They had a platform and I kind of followed that in the men’s side of the industry. I’ve always said ‘but no-one knew of a male model’….Kate, Naomi – you know who you’re talking about.
“So of course they are selling more, they’re engaging more, bringing the fans, people and sales to that brand. So of course they should be paid more. I’m never going to complain about that. It was just up to me and my team to get me up to that level as well.”
David – who started his career when he won a competition on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ in 2001 – previously admitted that despite his success, it can be a “very lonely place” in the fashion world.
He told the The Times magazine: “Being in the fashion world is a lonely job. You’re travelling so much on your own. My partner thought I was mad when we first started dating. She’d say: ‘What did you do last night?’ I’d say: ‘I had dinner on my own, then I was in another country and went to the spa on my own.’ She couldn’t believe it.”
