Alan Cumming doesn’t wear ‘Traitors’ outfits in real life

OHMYGOSSIP — Alan Cumming doesn’t wear his gaudy outfits from ‘The Traitors’ in real life.
The 59-year-old actor hosts the US version of the hit game show and he’s become known for his outlandish costumes on the show, but Alan is adamant he’s just playing a character on TV and doesn’t actually dress like that on a daily basis.
He told The Telegraph newspaper: “People imagine me to dress like I do on The Traitors but that’s a character – it’s me playing Moira Rose from [TV show] Schitt’s Creek playing me.
“Usually, I look like an eccentric old man in sandals, yoga pants and a T-shirt that says ‘Namasgay’.”
Alan also has a penchant for pyjamas and admits he one accidentally wore a pair to a film premiere because he thought he was going to a low-key screening and not a red carpet event.
He explained: “My dream is to have a line of pyjamas that you could wear in any eventuality. I once accidentally wore mine to a film premiere. A charcoal communist-leader-style pair. I thought I was going to a screening – it was a red carpet full of cameras.”
Alan works on his wardrobe for ‘The Traitors’ with stylist Sam Spector, who previously admitted he’d taken inspiration from Bond villains, ‘Sex and The City’ and even the late Queen Elizabeth for his fancy garb.
Spector told GQ: “We had a Bond villain in our heads during season one, but it’s ever-evolving in season two. For the funeral episode, for example, I used images of women at British royal funerals over time – even the Queen.
“Luckily, Alan is interested in going there. He pulls off these crazy and sometimes androgynous and sometimes wacky looks so well … I was inspired by Sarah Jessica Parker’s wedding look in ‘Sex and the City’, with the teal cape around her arms over her wedding dress. I used that for inspiration for Alan’s cape in the funeral episode, I wanted something super dramatic.”
The stylist added: “I just love how wacky and silly and campy his clothes are. I’ve seen them all, and still, every time he shows up on screen, I start cackling.”

Victoria Beckham declares perfume range completes her ‘house’

OHMYGOSSIP — Victoria Beckham believes launching a perfume line has completed her self-titled fashion house.
The Spice Girls star made her first foray into fashion 16 years ago when she launched her eponymous brand back in 2008 and she has since expanded the clothing line to include accessories and shoes as well as a beauty range and three fragrances which hit the shelves earlier this year – and Victoria says the scent collection makes her company a “real house”.
He told Vogue Australia: “We’re building. I spent many years working on the foundations and now I can start to build the house that I always dreamed about.
“We have fashion that’s not just ready-to-wear but we have bags and shoes, we have beauty, which is enormously successful in its own right, and now I have fragrance, which for me is the halo of the brand. Now, that makes us a real house.”
Victoria also admitted it hasn’t been easy building her brand and she may not have started the project if she’d known how hard it was going to be.
She explained: “I took the plunge, and there was an innocence and naivety. If I knew then what I know now, I might not have had the courage to do it, but I didn’t really know anything about the industry.
“I went into fashion in a very honest, humble way. I just wanted to create clothes I couldn’t find myself … And now after 17 years we’re proud to say that fashion in its own right is profitable, and for a ready-to-wear brand and an independent brand to be able to say that is a huge achievement.”

The 58-year-old supermodel was asked by show host Andy Cohen which designer she would not work with again and replied: “OK, Vassilios. He was a swimwear designer in Greece. I’m just gonna go rando. I answered it, but I didn’t offend any big designers.”
She later posted a picture of herself in his designs on Instagram and wrote: “From the archive…so many fun looks walking for @vassilioskostetsos. P.S. sorry for the mix up — I guess I fold under pressure! If you know you know. Sending a big kiss.”
Vassilios revealed Cindy reached out to him to claim her response had been edited in order to “prepare him”.
He told WWD: “When I listened, I was shocked. I felt very, very sad. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Cindy. I treated her fantastically, as I did with all of the supermodels.”
And, he admitted he is worried about how Cindy’s comments could affect his business.
He said: “Look, of course, it does [matter] because Cindy is a supermodel. She’s very important and her opinion counts. It’s a strange situation because everybody was shocked by the news.
“I don’t know how she mixed up my name. Anyway the whole situation is over. But it’s very bad for me because I am very popular in Greece and all over the world. It’s big damage to my name. The big thing is it’s on all the channels and on social media.”

The 44-year-old actor is the new face of Versace Eros men’s fragrances, including Eros Energy, “the newest eau de parfum pour homme by Versace”.
A message on the Italian luxury fashion company’s website states: “The scent is inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the Mediterranean coastline; the freshness of its scenery, the wildness of the air, and the luxury of a vast Italian vacation.
“The Eros fragrance collection takes its name from the mythological God of love in all its glory, energy, passion, and intensity. Eros Energy joins existing Eros and Eros Flame fragrances in the signature collection for men.”
This is the actor’s first time working on a campaign for Versace and it will include a short film for the brand, along with images of Channing holding the fragrances and shooting a bow and arrow, which have been posted on the website.
Channing – who has worn Versace on numerous red carpets and is a friend of the company’s chief creative officer Donatella Versace – previously told WWD: “When I started modelling in the 2000s, Versace was the brand I always wanted to work with but never did, so this campaign feels extra special and personal to me. Ciara thinks ‘less is more’ when it comes to makeup

OHMYGOSSIP — Ciara thinks “less is more” when it comes to everyday make-up.
The 38-year-old pop star prefers to go for more “natural” vibes when it comes to her day-to-day looks and plays down her makeup habits ordinarily so she can save up all the “drama” for when she is on stage.
She told Harper’s Bazaar: “I love an everyday look. I’m a big ‘less is more’ kind of girl and when I’m rolling in my everyday flow, I go for the more natural look. “Then when it’s time to amp up the drama for being on stage, I get to have those moments. It’s another level of process to put on stage make-up on. My make-up artist Yolonda Frederick has been in my career since I was a little baby at 16 years old and we’ve played a lot over the years. I think we’ve evolved together.”
The ‘Goodies’ hitmaker was then asked who is the main “inspiration” for her makeup choices and cited her long-time makeup artist because she “gets” it like no one else that she has ever met.
She said: “My make-up artist, Yolanda. She’s a not only my make-up artist, but she’s also my best friend; she was my matron of honour. She gets beauty like no other. She’s now 60 years old and it’s insane to see how beautiful she is and how well she takes care of herself. I also have to give love to my grandma. Whenever I would see her dressed to the nines, her make-up was always so beautifully placed and she always looked elegant”

Blake Lively doesn’t use conditioner

OHMYGOSSIP — Blake Lively doesn’t know “anyone” who uses hair conditioner.
The former ‘Gossip Girl’ actress claimed the key to the glossy locks sported by Hollywood stars is to use hair masks on a regular basis after shampooing in order to maximise moisture.
She told Vogue.com: “I don’t know anyone who uses conditioner in my industry.”
Instead, Blake buys one set of shampoo and hair masks dedicated to hydration and another for strengthening and alternates their use.
She said: “Your hair needs two things, strength and moisture.”
The 36-year-old star – who has four children with husband Ryan Reynolds – discovered the technique after her first acting job caused severe damage to her tresses.
She said: “It was just so damaged and destroyed.
“A hairstylist explained to me that this process could save it. If you give hair strength, you give it foundation, structure, and stability. But if you only give it strength, it’s going to become brittle and hard. So it also needs moisture and elasticity. But if you give it too much, it’ll break.”
Blake is launching her own range of haircare products, Blake Brown, an eight-item collection which includes two shampoos and mask sets, as well as a pre-shampoo treatment.
She said: “People think of hair masks as more of a specialty product or a one-off treatment.
“But I use it every single time like I use conditioner.
“I live by the principle that if you take from something, you have to give back to it. And that applies to my hair, too. So if I take from it by styling it or really wearing on it, then I give back to it.”
The ‘Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ star explained the origins of her brand’s name pays tribute to her dad.
She said: “I wanted to put my name on the brand because it’s something that I hammered, carved, welded, moulded, and baked.
“But I didn’t want to rely on my name alone. So it’s a version of my name—my dad took my mom’s last name—Lively came from my mom and Brown came from my father.”

Ariana Grande admits she likes to go against fashion trends

OHMYGOSSIP — Ariana Grande likes to go against fashion trends.
The 31-year-old pop star is known for her signature high ponytail and recently switched up her eyebrow colour so she could play Glinda the Good Witch in the upcoming movie adaptation of the hit Broadway musical ‘Wicked’ but goes against modern vibes and tends to take inspiration from the Golden Age of Hollywood when it comes to eye makeup.
She told ELLE: “I’m sort of anti-trend. I love when people use eyeliner to tell a story or create a character. I’m really enjoying my gingery, light brown-slash-dark blonde eyebrows—I don’t know when I will have dark eyebrows again.
“My whole mood board is Audrey Hepburn movies, like Barbarella—super hippie, Beatles inspiration, and ’60s girl groups.”
The ‘Thank U, Next’ hitmaker was then asked how she unwinds from such a busy lifestyle and admitted that she is a “bath addict” who has created a “whole ritual” for herself that allows her to “calm down” whenever she can find the time, but still finds time to work while she is submerged.
She said: “I love baths. I’m a bath addict. I know that’s the most boring thing ever, but I’m a Cancer and love to be in water. I do a whole ritual with essential oils. I love lavender; I love my Epsom salts. I really love to be submerged. I find it restorative and calming for me. Whenever I have time [for] a proper ceremony, that’s my favorite thing.
“I’ll take a little stool and put it right up against the bath, and I’ll bring my laptop so that I can work while I’m submerged. I answer all my e-mails [and] texts. I’ll approve things. I work from the bath often.”

Jordan Chiles’ long manicure makes her a better gymnast

OHMYGOSSIP — Jordan Chiles’ long nails make her a better gymnast.
The 23-year-old Olympian has caught fans’ eyes in Paris thanks to her lengthy decorated acrylic manicures and she admitted they are “too precious” for her to want to accidentally break or chip a talon, so she focuses even harder on her moves.
Speaking on Vogue’s ‘The Run-Through’ podcast, she said: “It makes me think of the right technique because I’m not trying to fall or break a nail … my nails are too precious and too good looking to be breaking.”
Jordan first started getting acrylic nails when she was 15 but they have grown more elaborate over the years.
She said: “I started off really short but as I got used to them, I just started getting them longer.”
The gymnast – who has sported square-tipped nails with blue and white crocodile-print French tips and gold accents during the Paris Games – recently admitted her primer, One/Size Secure the Blur Makeup Magnet, is a total beauty must-have when competing.
She told Vogue’s ‘Beauty Secrets’ video series: “Primer is very important for me. We sweat, we cry — happy tears, sad tears, whatever it is.”
She also went into detail about her eight-step skincare routine, which involves cleanser, toner, three different serums, moisturiser, sunscreen and eye patches.
She said: “We as women always have to be on point, ready, doing this, doing that, looking good. I think it’s very interesting how much women actually enjoy the beauty aspect of things.
“It did take me a while to embrace my beauty. But now that I embrace my beauty, I love it. I love waking up in the morning and doing skin care, I love being able to do my make-up and being able to just enjoy every moment that I am as a woman.”

Christina Applegate reveals the only time she has ever had plastic surgery

OHMYGOSSIP — Christina Applegate got plastic surgery on the advice of a producer.
The 52-year-old actress was in her late twenties when one of the bosses of a show she was working on suggested to her that she needed to get the bags under her eyes removed, so she took their advice and went under the knife.
Speaking on her ‘MeSsy’ podcast, she explained: “I was on a show and one of the producers… [a] very famous [person] who did a very famous show as well… said, ‘Hey we’re having trouble lighting under your eyes. The bags under your eyes are so big. He goes, ‘I suggest you get them removed.
“At 27 years old, I had the only plastic surgery I’ve ever had to remove the bags under my eyes. … I went under.”
In January last year, the former ‘Married…With Children’ star – who announced in August 2021 that she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis – revealed that a follower on Twitter had been in touch to accuse her of having had work done.
She tweeted: “Sooooo I made the unfortunate decision to look at some comments on an article from people mag about me and my kids at the CCA.”
In a screenshot of the message from the anonymous user, claimed that a “bad plastic surgeon” was responsible for the Christina looked and also claimed that the verified account for the star was in fact a fake.
It read: “MS didn’t make you look that way a plastic surgeon did. And you are a scammer and are not [Christina] Applegate. And a bad plastic surgeon at that.”
In response, the ‘Dead to Me’ actress said: “What is wrong with people. By the way, I laughed!”

Nicole Richie’s first beauty muse

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Richie’s mom was her “first beauty muse”.
The 44-year-old socialite – who has Harlow, 16, and Sparrow, 14, with husband Joel Madden – is fronting a new campaign for Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair serum Revitalizing Supreme+ Night Power Bounce Creme and Advanced Night Repair Overnight Treatment and she was delighted to be involved because it took her back to the days of getting ready with her mother, Brenda Harvey Richie.
She told People magazine: “My mom was my first beauty muse.
“I would sit in her dressing room and watch her get ready. She had a huge bathtub and I would sit in her empty bathtub and watch her do her skincare and make-up, and Estée Lauder is one of those brands that I was really paying attention to. And it’s been on my counter as long as I can remember.”
The House of Harlow founder begins her nighttime skincare routine around 7pm, when she washes her face and applies a moisturising cream “just to let it all sink in there.
She added: “Sometimes I’ll do a coconut oil mask in my hair, or Pureology has a good Hydrate mask that I’ll do sometimes, and I’ll just put my hair in a braid, go downstairs and watch TV with my dogs.”
Nicole’s final rituals include taking Calm magnesium powder, applying lavender oil to her feet and putting a quartz crystal next to her bed.
She said: “Clear quartz is self-love. To me, it’s a crystal that I am naturally connected to. I think that choosing a crystal is a very personal thing. A clear quartz to me feels very pure and very clean — something that I like next to my head while I sleep.”
The ‘Simple Life’ star gets up around 5am so she doesn’t feel rushed in the mornings.
She explained: “I wake up [then] so that I don’t have to jump up and get ready.
“That time alone is essential to my day, to my mindset. I tend to read for about 30 or 45 minutes, sometimes I’ll make coffee, occasionally I will write whatever is on my mind. I really try and not look at my phone or answer any emails or texts. I really enjoy my quiet time and I like to get centered before I get on with my day.”
