Billie Eilish fears she’s been ‘stunted’ by fame

OHMYGOSSIP — Billie Eilish fears she’s been “stunted” by finding fame as a teenager.
The 22-year-old pop star admits she’s is having a “hard, weird time” now she’s in her 20s and puts it down to being thrust into the spotlight when she scored her first hit single at the age of 14 – and Billie worries she’s been “frozen in time”.
She told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: “I’m finding I’m having kind of a hard, weird time being in my 20s. I just didn’t ever think about how I wouldn’t be the youngest person in the room forever.
“At the same time, fame really stunts you. So I find myself acting like a kid sometimes because I’m like, ‘Yeah, I got frozen in time.’ When I see other pop stars, I see that they’re still 16 a little bit. It’s kind of depressing.”
She added: “I’m a different person – I just didn’t really grow. I didn’t really become an adult.”
In the interview, the singer discussed her difficult relationship with life in the public eye, admitting she worries being famous ruined her life. She said: “I thought, this is just how my life is gonna be. I’ll never get to go outside again, and I’ll never feel like a person ever again.
“Every room is gonna be, ‘It’s Billie Eilish!’ and that’s gonna make me eventually kill myself.”
It comes after Billie admitted she felt incredibly isolated after becoming famous because she was deserted by all of her friends.
Speaking on the BBC podcast ‘Miss Me?’, she told hosts Lily Allen and Miquita Oliver: “Well I lost all of my friends when I got famous.
“I suddenly was famous and I couldn’t relate to anybody. It was tough. It was really hard.”
Billie went on to reveal she saw how much her life had changed when she realised most of the guests at her 20th birthday party were people on her payroll.
She added: “It was my 20th birthday and I remember looking around the room and it was only people that I employ. And all 15 years or more older than me.”

Adrien Brody fought back tears on prison visit

OHMYGOSSIP — Adrien Brody fought back tears on a visit to a London prison as he prepared to play a man wrongly convicted of murder.
The Oscar winner is playing real life former prisoner Nick Yarris – who spent more than two decades on death row for a crime he did not commit – in new play ‘The Fear of 13’ at London’s Donmar Warehouse and Brody has admitted he got emotional when he toured the high security HM Prison Belmarsh to help him get into character.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “If everybody wasn’t staring at me, I could have just wept, because of how soul-robbing it is. You’re surrounded by all these people who have no opportunity and are all needing love and appreciation and have made some dumb mistake in their life and are being punished for that.”
Brody revealed he had been wanting to get into theatre for a while and he opted to play Yarris on stage because the script “touched” him and he couldn’t read it without bursting into tears.
The actor lived in a flat above the play’s rehearsal room when he arrived in London to start work on the play and he admits it was far removed from the idea of Hollywood glamour.
He explained: “It was like a Spike Jonze movie. I do mostly independent films and it’s far from what people imagine the experience of a quote-unquote Hollywood actor. It’s just not anything to do with the perception of what it is. But theatre is even more! …
“Theatre, you’re living in the attic and you’re working in the basement, and you don’t leave and nobody brings you lunch. You go out and you’ll get a sandwich at Tesco, and you munch it down and try to absorb all this material and try to represent so much.
“And you’re with 10 other people doing the same and it is quite wonderful. I found it to be very gratifying – somewhat frightening, but gratifying – to face that.”
‘The Fear of 13’ runs at the Donmar Warehouse until November 30.

Succession took a toll on Jeremy Strong

OHMYGOSSIP — Jeremy Strong was left “f***** up” by ‘Succession’.
The 45-year-old actor became a household name playing Kendall Roy, which ran from 2018 to 2023, in the media drama but is known for his intense, method approach to working and he’s admitted spending so long immersed in dark plotlines took a toll and he “lost touch with joy”.
He told the Sunday Times’ Culture magazine: “It f***** me up.
“[Now] I’ve rediscovered play. I sometimes lost touch with joy.”
The ‘Apprentice’ star – who has three children with wife Emma Wall – recently took a break on a silent retreat and found it very helpful.
He said: “I really needed it. There’s so much noise and busyness now. I have opportunities that I only ever imagined.”
While Jeremy hailed ‘Succession’ an “incalculable gift”, he admitted he doesn’t miss the show and wouldn’t want to return to the saga.
He said: “Listen. That show was an incalculable gift. The material a banquet. So I miss that. But Kendall’s struggle was difficult to carry for seven years. And there’s just so much more I want to do.
“It’s not something I have any wish to do any longer. I’m aware it is one of the main chapters of my life, but I don’t miss it.”
Jeremy isn’t interested in fame but insisted he takes nothing about his life for granted.
He said: “It’s something that exists in other people’s eyes.
“But I do not take anything for granted. I had such a long period where I said no to everything that didn’t feel like my life depended on it, with a tacit prayer that things that really mattered would come along. I’ve been really fortunate, but self-aggrandising doesn’t remotely help you. It’s a hindrance, really.”
When it comes to taking on new roles, Jeremy wants to explore meaningful projects and “radical honesty”.
He said: “There’s a place for good old entertainment. I love [action movies].
“[Rom-coms?] Not so much.
“But the world is on fire, so I want to hold the mirror up to it. In this age of increasing noise, AI and digital life, art that has radical honesty is needed more than ever. I want to be part of that.”

Teddi Mellencamp had dark times in skin cancer battle

OHMYGOSSIP — Teddi Mellencamp has endured “very dark moments” while undergoing skin cancer treatment.
The ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star – who has Bella, 15, from a previous relationship and Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, four, with husband Edwin Arroyave – was diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022 and has subsequently undergone 16 separate surgeries, leaving her unable to obtain life insurance and worried about the future.
She told E! News: “[The hardest part has been] the mental toll it takes. When things are so out of your control, and you can’t plan for it, sometimes you just have to accept what’s happening and try to find peace in that…
“You have very dark moments where you think, ‘What if I don’t make it? What does that mean for my children? What does that mean for my husband? What does that mean for my business?’
“You go through all those emotions.
“I have big highs and lows depending on what’s going on with my surgeries and whatnot.
“And then also having those days where I say, ‘I’m just going to let myself crash today. I have these three hours to myself, I’m going to let myself have a little cry, feel these emotions.’ Then it’s easier to process than when you pretend that everything’s perfect all the time.”
The 43-year-old wellness coach hasn’t hidden her struggles from her children, particularly after she underwent a “major” operation in December last year to remove “a very large patch of skin where the majority of [her] melanomas were, and then they were able to pull skin over the flap of area that was missing”.
She said: “It was such a major surgery that I had to go to a post-care facility for a couple of days.
“The pain was intense. And so I just had to tell them, ‘Mommy might be emotional, Mommy might be not able to do all the things that she wants to be doing, but you have to know that Mommy’s taking care of herself so that I can be around forever to take care of you guys.’
“They loved being open about it. My daughter became almost like my nurse. Making them a part of the process, instead of trying to hide it from them, really made them a lot more comfortable.”
The ‘Two Ts in A Pod’ co-host admitted she initially thought her battle would be over quickly.
She said: “I remember thinking, ‘Okay, well, after this surgery, it means I’ll be done.’
“And then every time I would go back, there was something more, there was something more severe, there was another.”

Aoki Lee Simmons vows to quit modelling

OHMYGOSSIP — Aoki Lee Simmons is quitting modelling after being told she is not “pretty enough”.
The 22-year-old star – who is the daughter of Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons – loves working in the fashion industry but has grown increasingly frustrated at being rejected and unfavourable compared to her mom, a former Chanel model.
She said in a video shared to Instagram: “I think I’m probably wrapping up modelling soon.
“I love modelling, but it’s hard to go somewhere and get told over, over and over, ‘No, no, no, you’re not pretty enough,’ that’s not a fun time… it’s a hard industry.”
Talking about her mom, she added: “It feels like one big fat comparison all the time. Like, OK, not as good. I get that.
“My mom is always going to be a way better model than me. But it’s just annoying to have that comparison sometimes.
“I don’t need a coach. I’m a good model. I know that sounds like conceited; it’s not. I worked really hard at it. But it’s just… It’s a hard industry. There’s a lot of beautiful, great girls who are great models who don’t have a job.”
Aoki pledged to “finish out with respect”, a lesson she had learned from Kimora, but is already looking ahead to the future.
She said: “I think I’m going to switch back to working in government, because that’s what my degree is in.
“I’m, like, getting a job in my degree field, but you know, while I’m still here, I should do my best. … I hope it doesn’t sound whiny.”
Aoki previously admitted that while her mother has given her a lot of “helpful advice” about modelling, she respected the fact she’d also given her space.
She told Us Weekly magazine: “My mom was literally trying to coach me while I walked down the runway during [my first] Sergio Hudson show. I walked by and she yelled, ‘SHOULDERS!’
“Since I started my career, my mom has given me a lot of helpful advice, but I also appreciate the amount of space she has given me to make my own way. She’s allowing me to figure it out.”

Harrison Ford baffled by gruff reputation

OHMYGOSSIP — Harrison Ford is baffled by his reputation for being gruff because he’s actually very “silly” and “goofy” in real life.
The ‘Star Wars’ actor has become known for his serious persona over the years but Ford, 82, is adamant he loves comedy and inherited his love of jokes from his dad.
He told Vanity Fair magazine: “I always enjoyed humour. I loved jokes. I loved the construction of jokes. My father was a joke teller. The wordsmithing and the ideas that lay behind a joke have always interested me.
“When I was thinking about becoming an actor, I was ambitious for both kinds of work—serious drama and comedy. I found myself doing both and not really distinguishing much between them. I think I think with the same actor’s head about a joke as I do about a serious or emotional scene.”
Ford went on to insist he’s a very different person when he’s not working. He added: “I’m a silly person … I don’t need any encouragement [to be silly]. I’m really quite goofy all on my own.
“But when I’m in the company of other people that I know to be goofy, there’s a certain relaxation of the rules. I like to have fun. I like to be around people that are having fun. I don’t like to get too serious.”
Ford has been married to actress Calista Flockhart since 2010 and she recently revealed the couple often pull pranks on one another – but she usususally starts it.
She told the New York Times newspaper: “I’m called the ‘Scare Monster’ in my house because I hide behind every corner.
“And so Harrison will walk in, and then I’ll go, ‘Raaah!’ And he’ll go, ‘W-uy-aah!’ And then I die laughing.
“I’ll put a plastic spider inside his big ice cubes in the tray, and then he’ll drink it. But then I’ll go to bed two weeks later, and he’s out of town in Jackson, and I’ll take the covers down and there’s this little rubber scorpion. It’s fun.”

Kerry Katona won’t let son’s bullies stop her using OnlyFans

OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona “feels guilty” about her kids being targeted by bullies over her OnlyFans work but she won’t stop because it “pays for this lifestyle”.
The former Atomic Kitten star has been using the saucy platform since 2020 and she admits her 16-year-old son Max has been given a particularly hard time at school over it but she’s determined not to give up posting on the site because it brings in such good money.
She told OK! magazine: “All of my children have had a tough time, but Max perhaps a bit more than the others because of who I am.
“It is harder for boys and kids do say mean things to him. At the end of the day, I’m his mum so it’s going to hurt his feelings …”
Kerry – who is also mum to Molly, 23, Lilly, 21, Heidi, 17, and DJ, 10 – added: “I do feel guilty that my kids get stick, but I wouldn’t stop doing OnlyFans. I was famous before I started it and OnlyFans is just one of the many jobs I do – and I do it for my kids.
“They have everything they could ever want and it pays for this lifestyle. All I can do is make sure my kids know how much I love them – and they do.”
Max also took part in the interview and he insisted he isn’t bothered by his mum’s saucy work, adding: “I have had a lot of c*** said to me at school about my mum doing OnlyFans, but I’ve always had c*** about what my mum does – it hasn’t been the best … I don’t mind her doing OnlyFans as long as she buys me things with the money.”
In a previous column for the magazine, Kerry revealed Max had gotten into a fight at school after he was shown a topless picture of his mother.
She wrote: “He is really protective over me, he’s got into a few fights before trying to defend me.
“One time he got shown a picture of me topless – I was sunbathing and didn’t know it was taken – by a lad at school and [Max] knocked him out.
“He’s so protective over me that it’s better he stays private and just doesn’t get involved at all.”

Prince George ‘passionate’ about football

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince George is “passionate” about football.
The 11-year-old royal – who is the son of Prince William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales – always finds the time to watch his favourite team Aston Villa, and loves playing the game, which his uncle Mike Tindall attributes to their entire household’s enjoyment of sport.
Mike told the Telegraph magazine: “George loves his football. I’ve played numerous times in the garden with him.
“He’s passionate about Aston Villa, too. Wherever he is, he’ll sit down and watch that game.
“They’re just a family who love sport. Catherine loves her running.”
Meanwhile, Mike – who has Mia, 10, Lena, six, and three-year-old Lucas with wife Zara Tindall – admitted his son is “a ninja” who loves “whacking” people with sticks and needs a lot of exercise every day.
He laughed: “You can’t stop him. He wants physical contact. He wants to be wrestled.
“He imagines himself as a ninja, and he just walks around with sticks whacking people. He’s such a typical boy, you almost have to run him into the ground with exercise, like a dog, otherwise he won’t sleep.
“You’re built that way. So, being fully masculine, which a lot of rugby players are, is not a bad thing.”
Last year, Mike and his ‘The Good, The Bad and The Rugby’ podcast co-hosts Alex Payne and James Haskell secured an interview with Zara’s mother Princess Anne, and William and Catherine in their capacities as patrons of Scottish, Welsh and English rugby respectively.
And while the royal trio impressed with their sporting knowledge and delighted fans with candid anecdotes, Mike wasn’t surprised by the revelations.
He said: “It just came from seeing them in their most relaxed environment.
“These are the conversations we have when we’re just talking to each other anyway.
“With Princess Anne, it’s the conversation we have about rugby at Gloucester, or about Scotland after every Six Nations game. A lot of the time, it will be about a player. She’ll say to me, ‘Should he not be doing this more?’ And I’ll think, ‘You’re actually not that far off.’
“We were asking the same questions I had asked them before, but this time they were giving the answers to the public, rather than just to me.”
However, James wasn’t impressed by the catering at Windsor Castle.
He said: “I expected big trays loaded with scones and exotic fruit tarts. Instead, I got a couple of broken rich teas and what appeared to be a half-eaten malted milk – a leftover from a box of Family Circle biscuits…
“Luckily, I’d brought along an M+S sandwich, but when I started eating it, someone appeared and shooed me into a corridor. They’d been on red alert since our MD spilt coffee on what was probably a priceless Chippendale cabinet.”

Kanye West ‘told his wife Bianca Censori he wanted to have sex with her mother’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kanye West allegedly told his wife Bianca Censori he wanted to have sex with her mother.
The scandal-plagued rapper, 47, who has been hit with a string of lawsuits by former employees since his infamous ant-Semitic outbursts, is facing the accusation in a newly-amended lawsuit filed by his former assistant Lauren Pisciotta.
She says in her court filing the performer spiked her with a drink at a Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs recording session before sexually assaulting her.
More details have now emerged from her 86-page court filing, in which she claims Kanye had an “obsession” with wanking to bed his partners’ mothers, which she said was part of his “kink”.
The model claims the rapper showed her a text message exchange between himself and then-girlfriend Bianca Censori, 29, who he later married in December 2022.
Kanye allegedly messaged Bianca on 28 September, 2022 saying he wanted to have sex with her mother Alexandra, who was visiting from Australia at the time.
Lauren also claimed the rapper showed her another message he planned to send to Bianca as part of the same exchange, in which he apparently declared he wanted his girlfriend to watch him have sex with her mother.
Her lawsuit also claims Bianca was viewed by Kanye as an “on call sex party participant/employee”.
She added he messaged her on 13 September, 2022, saying he was “determined” to have sex with an “A-list”-level fashion model” and her mum.
Kanye was first sued by Lauren, who is now an OnlyFans model, in June, but she has filed amendments to her original lawsuit, which include her claim about him allegedly wanting to bed her mum.
The rapper has previously denied her claims, branding any allegations from Lauren “baseless”.
Lauren was Kanye’s chief of staff at his Yeezy firm and worked for him from 2021 to 2022.
Her lawsuit says he “roofied” her using a drink before raping her at a party with disgraced rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, 54, who is now in jail in New York awaiting trial on sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

Prince William taking ‘inspiration’ from Princess Diana for latest charity drive

OHMYGOSSIP — Prince William has taken “inspiration” from his late mother Princess Diana for his latest charity drive.
The royal, 42, was aged 15 when his mum was killed in a high-speed Paris car smash aged 36 in August 1997, after years of being renowned for her support for good causes.
William has told in a newly-released trailer for the upcoming ITV1 documentary ‘Prince William: We Can End Homelessness’ about how her philanthropy is still giving him a boost: “I’ve slowly tried to work out what can I bring to the role and the platform that I have.
“I have taken some inspiration and guidance from what my mother did, particularly with homelessness.”
William is helping fight homeless with his Homewards initiative, and another section from the documentary trailer shows him talking with football player Fara Williams, 40, who experienced homelessness for six years.
He is seen telling her: “You played for England and Chelsea whilst you were homeless.
“I don’t believe we should be living with homelessness in the 21st century.”
William’s documentary follows Homewards in its first year as the charity works to demonstrate it is possible to end homelessness.
Launched by William and The Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, the initiative says its mission is to make homelessness “rare, brief and unrepeated” within the next five years.
The royal said in a statement about the group: “Homewards aims to give people across the UK hope that homelessness can be prevented by showing them the progress we can make when we collaborate.
“It’s a big task, but I firmly believe that by working together it is possible to make homelessness rare, brief and unrepeated, and I am very much looking forward to working with our six locations to make our ambition a reality.”
As a child, William and his younger brother Prince Harry, 40, would visit homeless charities with their mother as she wanted to expose them to the plight of others not born into privilege.
Diana was also a patron of Centrepoint, Britain’s leading youth homelessness charity.

David Walliams was ‘friend zoned’ by Natalie Imbruglia

OHMYGOSSIP — David Walliams was stuck in the “friend zone” by Natalie Imbruglia.
The ‘Little Britain’ comic, 53, fell for the ‘Torn’ singer, 49, after he divorced his model wife Lara Stone, 40, in 2015, but has now admitted there was no chance his crush on the performer was going to turn into a relationship as she didn’t see him as boyfriend material.
He said on Australian radio show ‘Fitzy and Wippa’ about falling for Natalie “like a ton of bricks” when he first met her in the mid-2010s: “She’s very much friend-zoned me.
“You know when that happens, that you have a huge crush on someone and you sort of imagine being married and what your kids look like and all that sort of thing?
“And you’re just completely friend-zoned.”
He added Natalie considered him more of a “gay best friend” – despite the comic being straight.
Natalie, who has released three hit albums, was married to Australian rocker Daniel Johns, 45 from 2003 to 2008.
David also boasted in his radio chat he thought she could “do a lot better” than the musician.
He added about his fixation on the singer: “We didn’t go on any dates. We just became very good friends and we hung out together.
“But you know, it’s hard not to kind of fall for her like a ton of bricks because she is amazing.
“I think I’m seen as the sort of gay best friend by a lot of people.”
David made his name performing in sketches on ‘Little Britain’ alongside his openly gay comedy partner Matt Lucas, 50, and is renowned for his camp sense of humour.
He was also a judge on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ but left in 2023 after making disparaging, sweary remarks about an elderly contestant and a young woman.

Amanda Seyfried believes pets give their owners ‘purpose’

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Seyfried believes pets give their owners “purpose”.
The 38-year-old actress’ family – children Nina, seven, and four-year-old son Thomas, who she has with her actor husband Thomas Sadoski – include her rescue dog Finn.
She told People how she thinks the pooch enhances their lives: “(Pets give us) purpose. No matter what we say, we can’t deny the fact that we need purpose, and to have that responsibility of taking care of animals, who don’t have a voice and can’t really do much for themselves, it gives you so much more than we could ever give them, really.
“I don’t know what my twenties would’ve looked like without Finn. I really don’t know.”
“I don’t know how I would’ve navigated Hollywood. I mean, I stayed out of a lot of trouble, I think, because I had that guy to come home to.”
Amanda adopted her 15-year-old Australian shepherd while working on the set of the HBO series ‘Big Love’.
She told People in 2019 about getting the dog: “As soon as he was mine, like 24 hours after I got him, I realised something about me needed him.
“He completely changed my life and helped me find my solitude and my independence.
“I took him home thinking I was going to, like, find a home for him and have him for a couple of weeks, but I fell in love with him right away.
“I was just like, ‘I’m going to keep him safe,’ and then he just ended up keeping me safe.
“I had struggled with a lot of anxiety and I have OCD, and my twenties were just hard in general – like, anybody’s twenties are hard – so I think he grounded me in a way that nothing else could have.”
Amanda added she cannot believe her pet is now 15, adding: “It’s insane. I feel so lucky that he’s still alive and he’s thriving.
“Keep knocking on wood.”

David and Victoria Beckham’s £10m mansion plagued by small planes

OHMYGOSSIP — David and Victoria Beckham’s £10 million country pad is being plagued by small planes.
The former footballer, 49, and his ex-Spice Girls singer wife, 50, have spent years developing their Cotswolds land into a home farm, with David keeping bees and chickens on the estate.
They regularly post snaps of their apparently idyllic rural life at the home – but locals have highlighted it is not as tranquil as it looks due to the noise from the flightpath for Enstone Aerodrome, which leads to it being frequently buzzed by small aircraft.
One local told the Daily Mail: “There is a constant sound of planes. The pilots are told not to pass low over residential properties, but they have to come close to the Beckham place.
“I can imagine it annoys them.”
The Mail said in one hour alone on Saturday 5 October, eight aircraft flew over the house.
Built in 2018, the Beckhams’ vast country pile has a huge number of bedrooms as well as a chef’s kitchen, cinema, gym, pool and spa.
One of Victoria’s recent Instagram updates from the home showed David digging and planting trees in the garden.
And the ex-footballer recently posted a series of images of himself in various spots on the land while carrying a walking stick.
Under the caption ‘Country Life’, his snaps showed how his land is filled with vegetable patches, as well as his now-famous chickens and beehives – after he discovered a passion for beekeeping in lockdown.
One photograph showed him kneeling down with his four dogs – Cocker Spaniels Olive, Sage, and Fig, as well as Cockapoo Simba.
His rural activities came as the rest of his family enjoyed more glamorous pursuits.
His wife Victoria, 50, recently launching her latest perfume.
Their younger son Romeo, 22, made his catwalk debut in Paris, while their eldest child Brooklyn, 25, got his new hot sauce brand off the ground.

Al Pacino despises being ‘grey’

OHMYGOSSIP — Al Pacino despises being “grey”.
The ‘Scarface’ actor turned 84 in April and after years of resisting offers is finally bringing out his autobiography ‘Sonny Boy’ – which features a picture of himself on the cover in his black-haired heyday.
He told CBS News in an interview to plug the book about how he hates ageing and still sees himself as the man on the front of his book: “I’m an old fella, you know?
“When I have my hair now, and I go out and someone takes a picture of me, all you see is, like, a white hydrant! A white fire hydrant!
“I don’t feel I’m grey yet. I don’t want to be grey. I’m that guy in the book cover.”
Al’s book title comes from the nickname his mother Rose Gerardi gave him growing up.
The actor also relived in the CBS his chat his recent near-death experience with Covid.
Al previously opened up about feeling like he had no pulse when he was stricken with the illness, with medics rushing to his home to give him emergency treatment.
He said about the health scare: “Out of this world. I mean, I was here and then I wasn’t.
“The nurse said my pulse stopped. Now, I don’t think my pulse stopped.
“(But) it was so real.”
Al added about how his fright made him think of one of Shakespeare’s most famous lines: “And I didn’t see any light. I didn’t see anything at all. There’s a speech in ‘Hamlet’ where he says, ‘To be or not to be.’
“You know? And then when he talks about leaving the Earth when you die, and he says, ‘No more. No more.’
“How about that?”
Al’s book traces his life and career from his childhood living with his mum and grandparents in a three-room walk-up in the South Bronx.
His mum Rose kept her ‘Sonny Boy’ in when his friends tempted him with the streets.
Al said about being barred by his mother from going out with his friends on school nights: “She said, ‘No, no.’ And I was so upset. So angry at her. I think she was part of what saved my life, and kept me off drugs.
“I couldn’t go out. I went to school.”

Queen Elizabeth terrified passengers with high-speed driving

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth terrified passengers with her high-speed driving.
The monarch, who loved being at the wheel of Range Rovers and Land Rovers on her country estates including Balmoral, where she died aged 96 in 2022, was also said to be a “gutsy” but “shy” woman by a former aide who has spoken out about life supporting Her Majesty.
Samantha Cohen, 56, who became one of the Queen’s most loyal and senior staff members after 18 years by her side, told the Sunday Times: “(The Queen would) drive her cars fast around Balmoral… (leaving passengers) white-knuckled.”
The ex-aide added she was amazed Elizabeth had “no ego”, and that despite being one of the world’s most famous people, was the “antithesis of celebrity”.
She said rather than being a show off who was intoxicated by her power, the Queen “took (her role in society) very seriously and performed it to perfection”.
She added the late monarch was at her happiest when she was off-duty.
And she said she loved royal tours in Australia as she found them more relaxing as “there was less protocol” than in other countries including Britain.
Samantha got close to the Queen after joining the royal family press office around 25 years ago.
She was then promoted to the Queen’s communications secretary, and her assistant private secretary.
Samantha first saw the woman who would become her future boss during the head of state’s visit to Australia in 1977 during her Silver Jubilee year.
She was a schoolgirl in Brisbane at the time, and said she was “beyond excited” to see the then-Queen in the flesh.
During her role as a senior aide, Samantha saw Elizabeth nearly every day and accompanied on her official trips to Australia in 2002, 2006 and 2011.

Chris Pine’s love for his animals ‘profound and heart-opening’

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pine’s love for his animals is “profound and heart-opening”.
The 44-year-old actor has two rescue dogs and a pair of other canines he is fostering, and is so fanatical about pooches he recently released his first children’s book ‘When Digz the Dog Met Zurl the Squirrel: A Short Tale About a Short Tail’.
He told People about how he finds dogs an inspiration: “It’s myriad, small little things throughout the day, where they make you smile because they do something ridiculous.
“The love that you have with your animals is profound and heart-opening.
“Then, the practice of that heart opening over time – I can’t help but think that it bleeds into your life elsewhere.
“It just makes you more capable of loving, I think. My dogs have continued to teach me a lot.”
Chris first became a pet owner when he was a young child growing up with his father – fellow actor Robert Pine – and his mother Gwynne Gilford.
He added: “When I was seven, my parents took me to adopt a dog, and so we got Lucy.
“She was a small dog, and I had her from when I was seven until I was (in my 20s.)”
Chris said about being left heartbroken by Lucy’s death: “I was studying abroad that year, and I remember my parents calling me and telling me my dog had died, and it was shattering.
“Then I went 15 years without a dog. I was traveling a lot, working and starting my career, but then I got Wednesday, and really, it’s no hyperbole to say how that she’s taught me everything about love and patience and kindness.
“She’s just changed my life.
“I was like, ‘Why did I waste so much time (without a dog?)”
Chris also thinks being a dog owner will prepare him to become a parent, saying: “There’s so much mutual learning in some regard. It’s like, you have to teach a dog how to live in a house and how to teach a dog to be potty-trained, and you have to teach a dog what they can and can’t do.
“You’re also learning about patience.
“If they rip up a couch, how do you deal with that and how do you treat them with kindness instead of anger?”
