Amy Adams recalls being ‘very naive’ in Hollywood

OHMYGOSSIP — Amy Adams felt “so vulnerable and so exposed” during her early years in Hollywood.
The 50-year-old actress has enjoyed a hugely successful career in the movie business – but Amy initially struggled with self-doubts and vulnerabilities.
The ‘Junebug’ star told Variety: “I was just very naive, and I think I was really afraid to show any truth or darkness about the flip side of the human experience.
“I would have felt so vulnerable and so exposed.”
Amy has a 14-year-old daughter called Aviana, and the actress believes that motherhood has transformed her career.
The movie star explained that her daughter is now her focus, rather than her film career.
She said: “Every moment needed to be dedicated to the care and keeping of my child.
“Motherhood did redirect my priorities. And I think that changed some relationships. That was hard, but I don’t think it’s uncommon.”
Amy is now keen to work with a new generation of actors and actresses. And the veteran star revealed that she’s particularly fond of Jenna Ortega, her co-star in Taika Waititi’s ‘Klara and the Sun’ adaptation.
Amy explained: “I learn so much from the young women that I work with.
“I feel like I learn more from them than they could ever learn from me. I do forget that I’m not their age sometimes. I’m like, ‘Amy, you’re 50. You’re not gonna hang!’”
Despite this, Amy observed that there are still some benefits to being an older actress.
Amy – who has won various awards over the years, including two Golden Globes – said: “It gets so much better. But there are things I miss: my joints working, collagen, things like that.”

My fans have kept me grounded, says Mary J. Blige

OHMYGOSSIP — Mary J. Blige’s fans have helped her to remain grounded.
The 53-year-old singer feels she’s been through “a lot” in her own life – but Mary’s fans have given her a healthy sense of perspective, too.
The Grammy-winning star told PEOPLE: “I listen to a lot of stories that my fans talk to me about. I’ve been through a lot, but sometimes you listen to other people’s stories, and you say, ‘Wow, I’m just complaining’ because their stories is worse than yours.”
Mary’s new single, ‘You Ain’t the Only One’, explores the idea that “everyone has something that they’re dealing with”.
The chart-topping singer – who has also enjoyed success as an actress – said: “Everyone has something that they’re dealing with and that they’re suffering through.
“The single is basically saying, ‘You’re not alone. You’re not the only one out here dealing with life. Life is not life-ing for you only.'”
Mary has enjoyed huge success during her career – but she recently admitted that she used to hate the sound of her own voice.
She said on ‘TODAY with Hoda and Jenna’: “I didn’t like the sound of my voice.
“But now I listen to my music and now I love everything about me, I do.

Mary ‘s self-love journey has actually helped to transform her entire outlook on life.
She explained: “We grow up thinking we couldn’t boast or brag or love on ourselves, and now I’m doing all that. I’m boasting and bragging and loving on myself because I’ve earned it.
“I have so much fun with myself. I’m like, ‘Girl, you look so good. I’m so proud of you. Oh, that looks nice on you.’ And I’m by myself a lot, so I’m always like, ‘Oh Mary, I love that! Let’s wear this tonight. That’s gonna be hot!’

Sexy is a state of mind, says Chad Michael Murray

OHMYGOSSIP — Chad Michael Murray believes sexiness is “a state of mind”.
The 43-year-old actor thinks there are “many different things” that can make somebody sexy.
The ‘Merry Gentlemen’ star told PEOPLE: “There’s so many different things that make somebody sexy.
“It’s a combination of being confident in who you are, knowing who you are and just being comfortable in that, no matter what you look or feel like.
“Sexy is a state of mind. It’s confidence, it’s sitting right with yourself. It’s laying your head to bed at night and knowing you had a good day and you did what you could do, and not having regret when you go to sleep.”
The actor became a teen heartthrob early in his career, and he’s now confessed to being “self-aware of everything” at the time.
He said: “If it were today, I wouldn’t even think about it, it wouldn’t even dawn on me, but when you’re 20, 21, 22, I know that I was so much more self-aware of everything.
“You’re worried about every piece of hair. You’re worried about how your clothes look on any given day, even when you don’t realise that you dress God awful.
“So I think that that part of my life was so very different to who I am, and what I experience because I’m such a homebody, I’m such like a blue-collar worker, and that’s just how I like to keep things.
“Through that kind of 21 to 24 phase, it was so much to take in, and there’s no book on, ‘Hey, this is how you micromanage each and every moment. This is how you learn to say no to A, B, C and D without offending people’. There’s no handbook on gratitude to teach you like, ‘Hey, don’t look at what you don’t have, just be grateful for what you do and the rest will take care of itself.’”

The 52-year-old actress has daughter Apple, 20, and son Moses, 18, with her ex-husband Chris Martin, and Gwyneth has revealed that she’s struggled to adjust to her children leaving home to attend college.
During a Q and A with her fans on Instagram, Gwyneth was asked: “How’s life as a free bird?”
In response, the Oscar-winning star replied: “Thank you for asking. It’s very different. I have waves of grief and sadness.”
On the other hand, Gwyneth acknowledged that there are some positives to her kids leaving home.
The Hollywood star said: “I am kind of getting back in touch with this part of myself that I haven’t felt like since I was in my 20s before I had kids. Like, a little more space and imagination, maybe. A little more inner space for what I might want to do that day, stuff like that.
“So, it’s evolving. It’s interesting.”
Earlier this year, Gwyneth admitted that she felt anxious about her kids going to college.
She said at the Goop Health Summit: “It’s kind of giving me a nervous breakdown.
“If I’m honest, I started being like, ‘Oh, my God, and I need to quit my job and I need to sell my house and I need to move.’ It’s sort of putting things into turmoil.”
Gwyneth has enjoyed significant success with her Goop brand in recent years – but the actress always made her kids her number one priority.
Gwyneth shared: “My identity has been being a mother.
“Apple’s going to be 20 in May. So I’ve oriented my whole life around them and their schedules and when school starts.
“You start to let go in increments when they’re driving themselves around or doing certain things. It is a slower process.
“I feel really lucky because I have a close group of mom friends, and we all raised our kids alongside one another. So we’re kind of in it together.”

A$AP Rocky ‘could add value to Tranmere Rovers’

OHMYGOSSIP — A$AP Rocky could “add value” to Tranmere Rovers, according to the club’s chairman.
The 36-year-old rap star and celebrity lawyer Joe Tacopina are rumoured to be part of an investment group that’s looking to buy the English soccer team, and Mark Palios believes a celebrity investor could help to change the club’s fortunes.

“And it’s attracted … the names being mentioned, A$AP Rocky, who is supposedly aligned with Joe Tacopina. There’s a lot of people who are interested.”
Mark suggested that a celebrity could help to “increase the commercial potential of the club”.
He explained: “[Joe] would add value in the sense of, he’s an American who understands relegation because he’s been involved in football in Italy.
“He could also add value by bringing celebrities in, who can then increase the commercial potential of the club.”
Earlier this month, an insider claimed that Rocky is “committed to the Tranmere bid”.
The rapper and Rihanna – his long-time partner – could even attend a game together, if the rumoured deal goes through.
The source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper’s Bizarre column: “Rocky is tight with Joe and has committed to the Tranmere bid. Joe has been to Tranmere matches and Rocky has plans to go over too after the deal is completed. We may even see Rihanna watching League Two football.”

Kristin Cavallari: I tried everything to rescue my marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristin Cavallari tried “everything” to rescue her marriage.
The 37-year-old TV star split from Jay Cutler in 2020, but Kristin insists that she did everything she could to save their romance.
The blonde beauty – who was married to Jay between 2013 and 2022 – said on her ‘Let’s Be Honest’ podcast: “My heart broke in my marriage. Even though I’m the one that walked away, it was not what I wanted. It was not what I had envisioned.
“And I really tried f****** everything I could. It’s just heartbreaking when you want something so badly but you just can’t get there. And I would say my heart was broken for years in my marriage – I mean, it was.”
Now, Kristin and Jay’s relationship is better than it’s been in many years.
The reality star never imagined that they would still have such a healthy and respectful relationship, after their split.
Kristin – who has Camden, 12, Jaxon, ten, and Saylor, eight, with her ex-husband – said: “I will say, we are in the best place that we’ve been in. And it’s been four and a half years.
“It took four years. But things are really good with us now. So much so that we even sat together at one of Camden’s basketball games recently, and that makes me so happy, because honestly, I never thought that we would get there. I really didn’t.”
Kristin and Jay announced their split via a joint statement in 2020.
The former couple said on Instagram at the time: “With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family. (sic)”

Tamera Mowry-Housley connects with her Scouting for Christmas character

OHMYGOSSIP — Tamera Mowry-Housley feels closely connected to her ‘Scouting for Christmas’ character.
The 46-year-old actress plays a busy single mom in the new Hallmark movie, and Tamera acknowledges that her on-screen character is not a typical “Pinterest mom”.
The actress – who is the twin sister of Tia Mowry – told Us Weekly: “I remember seeing this mom at the grocery store, like, 7:30 in the morning or something. Her hair was all blown out, her nails done, her clothes – and I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s amazing. That’s amazing that you can look like that’. Or the stroller that doesn’t have one crumb in it. It’s like, ‘It’s perfect. Do you wash it every night? Like, what? That’s amazing.'”
Tamera loved that her on-screen character resists the temptation to compare herself to other moms.
The actress also became emotional as she discussed her character.
She said: “I love that in that moment, first she said, ‘If you’re that kind of mom, great, that’s wonderful’ – Oh, I’m getting emotional. Oh my gosh. I don’t know why … ‘Please don’t judge us moms who aren’t.’
“I loved that scene because of that. She said, ‘I know that there are other moms who think that I can’t do this, I can’t do that, but I’m doing my best.’ And you can see that. You can see that with Angela. That’s her number one goal … I have no idea why I got emotional about that.”
Tamera has Aden, 11, and Ariah, nine, with her husband, Adam Housley. And, over time, she’s learned the importance of seeking outside help.
Reflecting on her experience of motherhood, Tamera said: “I was just tired. I was exhausted. And when you are tired and exhausted, you can’t be the best mom, the best wife, the best friend, the best sister. You just can’t.
“And I learned that there is strength in asking for help, and it doesn’t make you weak.”

‘I went and did stuff I didn’t necessarily want to do’: Stanley Tucci struggled to find work after The Devil Wears Prada

OHMYGOSSIP — Stanley Tucci took on roles “he didn’t want to do” when he struggled to find work after starring in the blockbuster ‘The Devil Wears Prada’.
The 63-year-old actor has no idea why he couldn’t get a job after starring opposite Meryl Streep, 75, Anne Hathaway, 41, and Emily Blunt, also 41, in the 2006 comedy-drama classic.
He told Vanity Fair: “After The Devil Wears Prada, I couldn’t get a job, and I didn’t quite understand that, but that’s just the way it was.
“So I went and did stuff that I didn’t necessarily want to do, but I did it.”
However, he’s experienced “these fluctuations” throughout his career, either due to “the business” or “personal reasons”.
The ‘Easy A’ actor – who is married to his ‘The Devil Wears Prada’ co-star Emily’s 44-year-old sister, Felicity Blunt – was diagnosed with tongue cancer in 2017, and admits he had no choice but to return to work because he needed the money, even though it was “probably too soon”.
Stanley – who has three adult children with late first wife Kathryn Spath, and a son and a daughter with spouse Felicity – continued: “Having been sick six years ago, that threw a wrench into the works for a while, and then you slowly get back.
“But I had to start doing things. I needed to work because I needed money. I probably started working too soon. I didn’t really have the energy to do it after the treatments, but you had to do it, and eventually you climb back up again.”
As well as acting, Stanley works in the food and drink industry.
And the ‘Hunger Games’ star previously admitted he reached a period during his cancer battle where he “didn’t see the point of living” if he would no longer be able to enjoy the pleasure of enjoying a meal with his loved ones again.
He told You magazine in 2022: “I was a cranky patient. Because I was miserable. I thought it was never going to go away. And I was like, how did this happen…
“There were times when I thought I was never going to be able to eat with my family again. The things I love to do are eat and taste and drink. And I love to do them with the people I love.
“If I can’t do that, then I really don’t see the point of living.
“I spent months and months up in my room, listening to everybody. Like a ghost in my own house. People coming and going. And I would go down and I would cook, but I couldn’t eat it – but I’d want to cook.
“Sometimes it almost made me ill to do it, but I wanted to do it. It was pretty f****** awful.”

Eric Roberts feels ‘sadness’ over loss of losing relationship with Emma Roberts

OHMYGOSSIP — Eric Roberts admits the “toughest” time in his life was losing his relationship with his daughter Emma Roberts.
The ‘Dark Knight’ actor lost custody of the 33-year-old actress – whom had with ex Kelly Cunningham in 1991 – amid his battle with drug addiction when she was just a baby but has been clean since 1995.
Eric admits becoming a grandfather made him realise just how much he has lost out on with his own daughter.
The 68-year-old actor – who has two grandchildren from his stepchildren, while Emma has three-year-old son Rhodes – was asked on the ‘Inside of You’ podcast what the hardest part of his life has been, to which he replied: “Probably the loss of relationship with my daughter
“There’s not a pain, there’s a sadness for the, most likely, misunderstandings we’ll all have forever. Because we’re human.”
Eric says his eldest grandchild “looks like” the ‘American Horror Story’ actress and “reminds me of what I didn’t have.”
He said: “I started accepting that about myself with the birth of my grandchildren.
“Especially the five-year-old, she was first and she was a girl and took a liking to me in a very strong way.”
The ‘Runaway Train’ actor details their estrangement in his recently released memoir, ‘Runaway Train: Or the Story of My Life So Far’.
And he admitted the chapter was “the most painful personally” to write, despite earlier admitting he felt “sadness” not “pain”.
He said of the tell-all: “To write it at all was the hardest thing to write.
“That book was hard to write and I didn’t want to write it.”
In the tome, he writes: “Of course, the biggest consequence of my drug use was losing Emma.”
He also acknowledged the impact his addiction had on his relationships with his sisters Julia and Lisa Roberts.
He added: “I wouldn’t be surprised if they suffered from PTSD from when it was dangerous to be around me.
“Lisa and Julia needed love and protection — instead they got fear and uncertainty.”
At the time of his breakup from Kelly, his estranged sister Julia took his ex’s side in the legal case because of his addiction issues.
While he doesn’t go into detail in the book, he has admitted he now realises it was the right decision.
He added: “I imagine I will remain as Julia’s brother and Emma Roberts’ dad for the rest of my life.
“I’d like to make good on that, to move aside proudly and with grace. That’s part of the reason for writing the book.”
Eric – who married Eliza Garrett since 1992 – has been open about his own difficult childhood, describing his father Walter Roberts as a man who drank and would have violent outbursts, having also been raised by an abusive father.
He said his dad was jealous of his career and “was a very screwed-up individual and not safe for me, or anyone, to have as a father”.
Now, he feels he has come to terms with his own father, and the shame he felt seeing some of his dad in himself.
He wrote: “I knew that I loved him. I couldn’t live down the shame of loving him or of who he was, someone capable of terrible things.
“I was ashamed of being so much of him and so much like him… If you’ve ever loved a parent … with a cruel nature, it’s never too late to begin to recover from the shame and pain of it all.”

‘Drugs don’t discriminate’: Lamar Odom hopes Liam Payne’s death is a wake-up call

OHMYGOSSIP — Lamar Odom hopes Liam Payne’s death is a “wake-up call” for the entertainment industry.
The 44-year-old former basketball star – who almost died following a 2015 overdose but is now sober and helps other addicts – has spoken out after sources claimed early autopsy reports found the One Direction singer had several drugs in his system when he died after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina last Wednesday (16.10.24) and he’s warned that such substances “don’t discriminate”.
He told TMZ: “I hope this is a wake up call for everyone in the industry. Hollywood, music, sports, that drugs don’t discriminate. Age, race, color, creed. So hopefully this is a wake up call for everyone.”
Lamar admitted he had taken all of the drugs Liam was believed to have used, including pink cocaine – a mixture of substances including ketamine, methamphetamine and ecstasy – and crack, and fears the ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker may have been hallucinating as a result, as that was what happened to him.
He said: “Drugs could cause you to hallucinate. And if he was in a hallucination state, who knows what would happen.”
Asked to describe his experiences with the drugs, he added: “I mean, if you’re hearing voices, it’s hard to escape those voices. So God forbid if those voices tell him to do something that lead to his fate. That would be a shame.”
Shortly before Liam’s death, hotel staff had called emergency serviced and asked them to “send someone with urgency” to deal with a guest they alleged was “drunk with drugs and alcohol.”
The staff member added: “We need to send someone with urgency because I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger because he is in a room with balcony, and we are afraid he could do something that threatens life.”
Although authorities arrived just seven minutes later, Liam’s body was found in the hotel’s inner courtyard and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary autopsy report noted 25 injuries and ruled the star had died from “multiple traumas” and “internal and external bleeding”.

Liam Payne’s dad assisting with investigation into star’s death

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne’s father is helping Argentine authorities with their investigation into his son’s death.
Geoff Payne arrived in Buenos Aires on Friday (18.10.24), two days after the former One Direction singer’s fatal fall from the balcony of his room at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel and after sources claimed a partial autopsy found “multiple substances” in the ‘Strip That Down’ hitmaker’s system when he died, the aerospace engineer has agreed to do what he can to assist with the ongoing probe into his son’s passing.
A statement from the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14 obtained by People magazine stated Geoff had “expressed his desire for an investigation and knowledge of what happened and expressed to the prosecutor his willingness to testify about everything he knows about his son’s life, which can help the investigation”.
He will be “accompanied by a police official until his judicial formalities have been completed.”
The authorities are looking into evidence on Liam’s phone, computers, photographs and videos on his camera.
The statement added: “With respect to the victim, all information gathered from the investigation will first be given to the family, and given his public exposure, communication will be limited to all institutional channels.
“At the same time, testimonials are being accepted to reconstruct his final hours at the scene, a process that continues with the hotel staff, acquaintances, medical and technical professionals, and other people linked to the victim through his work.”
Liam’s body will stay in Argentina until all reports are completed.
Because he was a British citizen, the UK government have been informed of the legal proceedings.
Geoff, his wife Karen and their daughters Nicola and Ruth previously issued a statement reflecting on the loss of Liam.
It said: “Liam will forever live in our hearts and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul.
“We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”

Noel Gallagher moved house to get away from James Blunt

OHMYGOSSIP — James Blunt’s former neighbour Noel Gallagher sold his home in Ibiza to get away from him.
The pop star owns a property close to the Oasis star’s retreat on the Spanish island but Noel has since moved away and James has revealed the rocker told him he has put the house on the market because he “couldn’t handle” James writing his “s*** songs down the road from him”.
Speaking on the ‘How to Fail with Elizabeth Day’ podcast, James explained: “I bumped into Noel Gallagher the other day. He’d said he was leaving Ibiza and selling up his house because he couldn’t handle me writing my s*** songs down the road from him … ”
James went on to joke: “House prices subsequently went up after he’s left. ”
The ‘You’re Beautiful’ star went on to insist he can’t understand why Noel seems to feel so much animosity towards him because he’s always nice to him when they meet.
James added: “Whenever I see him, he’s really sweet to my face. I think everyone’s sweet to each other’s faces.
“It’s just with the courage of a microphone and a journalist and trying to show off a little, they’ll do something different.”
Noel previously admitted James was the reason he sold the house in an interview with Time Out Dubai magazine. When he was asked if he moved because of James, Noel replied: “Yes”.
When asked what James did to upset him, Noel answered: “He didn’t [upset me]. He just moved there. I can’t have that.”
During the podcast appearance, James went on to talk about other rock stars who have been “mean” to him over the years including Paul Weller, who previously declared he would rather “eat his own s*** than work with James”.
He said: “Paul Weller was mean. I don’t know where [he said it] … The weird thing about that was I genuinely hadn’t asked to work with him. So why has he suddenly come up with this statement?
“It just must be that he really, really just was seizing the opportunity to eat his own s***. I don’t know why he was effectively volunteering to do that because I hadn’t asked him.”
James also claimed Blur star Damon Albarn refused to pose for a picture with him during an appearance on BBC2 TV show ‘Later With Jools Holland’, explaining: “Damon apparently refused to be in the same picture as me so I was going through this really weird experience.
“Suddenly where they kept me back in my dressing room and they kept saying, you can’t come out and they were being really shady with me while they gathered all the musicians.
“And then they took the photo and then they said, ‘Okay, now you can come out’ as Damon walked off and got in his car and then they took a second photo with all the musicians except Damon.
“And I don’t know which is on the wall, but I can take a guess. So it was just really weird behaviour.”

Martha Stewart ‘dragged into solitary confinement’ in prison

OHMYGOSSIP — Martha Stewart was “dragged into solitary confinement” and deprived of food and water for a day during her stint in prison.
The lifestyle guru was sentenced to five months behind bars back in 2004 after being found guilty of charges relating to an insider trading case and she has now opened up about her experience at Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia – nicknamed Camp Cupcake – in a new Netflix documentary called ‘Martha’.
In the film, Martha’s prison diaries are read out and one extract reveals she was punished for accidentally touching one of the prison guards.
She wrote: “Today I saw two very well-dressed ladies walking and I breezed by them, remarking on the beautiful warm morning and how nice they looked.
“When I realised from the big silver key chain that they were guards, I lightly brushed the chain. Later I was called in to be told never, ever touch a guard without expecting severe reprimand.”
In an interview for the film, Martha added that she apologised for her mistake and put the incident out of her mind because it “was so minor”.
However, she was given a shock when she was given her punishment. She added: “I was dragged into solitary for touching an officer.
“No food or water for a day. This was Camp Cupcake, remember? That was the nickname. Camp Cupcake. It was not a cupcake.”
In the film, the star’s diaries described her living conditions. She wrote: “My room contains an old double-decker bedstead metal spring and metal frame.
“The springs are very saggy and thus an unhealthy bed set. I would actually prefer the top but over 62-years-old and you automatically are given a lower bunk.”
She added of the food: “What worries me is the very poor quality of the food and the unavailability of fresh anything as there are many starches and many carbs, many fat foods. No pure anything. Everything was terrible.”
Martha started her sentence in September 2004 and was released in March 2005.
‘Martha’ debuts on Netflix on October 30.

The 32-year-old rapper – who has Kulture, six, Wave, three, and a seven-week-old baby girl with estranged husband Offset – was left furious when she received a visit from the organisation to check on her children after receiving a call expressing concern for their welfare.

“For the Child Protective Services to come to my f****** house? Not my house, my gated mansion at 11 p.m. while my children are sleeping because there’s an anonymous call … that my kids have been getting abused and beaten. Are you f****** dumb?”
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker insisted no one had ever hit the children and both she and Offset have always prioritised their happiness and safety.
She added: “We don’t play that s***. My kids live great.
“My kids have never been touched, never gotten hit no matter how annoying they are.”
The ‘WAP’ rapper vowed to hire a private investigator to find out who had reported her so she could take legal action.
She added: “We’re the only coloured people in my neighborhood completely and for motherf****** to pop up in my house with cops and child protective services because you motherf****** wanna do an anonymous call involving my children.
“I promise you this, I’m gonna sue CPS for f****** coming to my house at whatever the f*** time it is. [I will sue] the person that did this anonymous call.”
Cardi also offered a warning to the alleged prankster, declaring her “baby father” would “beat you the f*** up” if it was a man, while she and her sister Hennessey would “beat you the f*** up because you playing with my motherf******kids,” if the caller was found to be a woman.
She added: “Not everything is a f****** joke. Not everything is a f****** prank.”
