Tarzan actor Ron Ely dies aged 86 as daughter pays tribute to ‘one of the world’s greatest men’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Tarzan’ star Ron Ely has died aged 86.
The actor was best known for portraying the titular character in the NBC series ‘Tarzan’ from 1966 to 1968, and while filming the show he was said to have been attacked by lions, and he broke his shoulder twice.
Ron’s daughter, author Kiki Ely, confirmed his passing, describing her late father as a “hero”.
She wrote on Instagram: “The world has lost one of the greatest men it has ever known – and I have lost my dad.
“My father was someone that people called a hero. He was an actor, writer, coach, mentor, family man and leader. He created a powerful wave of positive influence wherever he went. The impact he had on others is something that I have never witnessed in any other person – there was something truly magical about him. This is how the world knew him.
“I knew him as my dad – and what a heaven sent honor that has been. To me, he hung the moon.
“My father was my world – and what an incredible world he created. He was strong and protective. He was brilliant and ridiculously funny. He was stoic and sensitive. He was dynamic and powerful. He was my role model and inspiration. He was humble and inherently received respect – the respect he so deserved.
“My father’s life story was one of relentless perserverence, unending dedication to his family and friends, courage to do what was right, and willing sacrifice to facilitate the dreams of those he loved. It was also a story of joy and love – something everyone close to him had the privilege of experiencing. Once you knew my father’s love, the world grew to be a brighter and more meaningful place. (sic)”
Kiki admitted her “greatest comfort” is knowing her dad is now reunited with her mother and brother.
She added: “I am doing my best to walk this path of loss with the strength and grace that I know he would want for me. I picking up the pieces of my heart that feel like pieces of him – and cementing those firmly in place before I pick up the rest of the broken bits. It makes me feel like part of him is still here – and I need that – and the world needs that.”
“My greatest comfort is knowing that my dad is with my momma and my brother. It is also my greatest sadness because I miss them all so much that it’s etched into my soul. I will proudly carry all of my favorite pieces of them – lovingly cemented into my heart – until we all meet again. (sic)”
As well as being known for ‘Tarzan’, Ron also led the cast of 1975 movie ‘Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze’, which was the last motion picture completed by sci-fi producer George Pal.
Ron also presented the ‘Miss America’ pageant telecast in 1980 and 1981.
He retired from acting in 2001 and became an author, but briefly returned to the screen for TV film ‘Expecting Amish’ in 2014.

Liam Payne’s final days will be told in a new programme

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Payne and his death will be the subject of a new TV special.
An ‘Impact x Nightline’ programme called ‘One Direction: Liam Payne’s Final Days’ will explore the late pop star’s life and his heartbreaking death aged 31 when he fell from a hotel balcony on October 16.
The synopsis reads: “Drugs, a trashed hotel room, and a deadly fall. How One Direction’s Liam Payne tragically died. The boy band singer’s sudden death sparked renewed questions about the dark side of fame. How did the 31-year-old’s brilliant star fade so dramatically?”
Led by ‘Nightline’ anchor Juju Chang, 59, it will feature interviews with those who were close to the star, including former ‘The X Factor’ contestant Mary Byrne, 64.
The former supermarket worker, who was on the same series as ‘One Direction’ in 2010, is one of many who have paid tribute since the news of his death after plunging from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Writing on Facebook, the singer and TV presenter wrote: “He was such a kind, considerate young man, someone whose talent shone as brightly as his warm spirit.
“From the moment he stepped on that stage, it was clear that Liam was destined for greatness. His voice, strong yet tender, captivated everyone who heard it, and his dedication to his craft was unparalleled.
“But more than his talent, it was his humility and care for those around him that truly set him apart. Even in the whirlwind of the show, with all the pressures and expectations, Liam always found time for others, offering words of encouragement, a helping hand, or a simple smile to lift someone’s spirits.
“He had an innate ability to make everyone feel seen and appreciated, even as his own star continued to rise.
“Tragically, he left us far too soon, leaving a void in the hearts of everyone who knew him or had the privilege of witnessing his talent.
“Yet, his legacy lives on in the music he created and the lives he touched. Liam Payne was more than just a gifted performer—he was a beacon of kindness and passion, and his memory will forever remind us of the beauty of a life lived with purpose, even if it was cut far too short.
“Love you Liam, mammy Mary xxx.”
‘One Direction: Liam Payne’s Final Days’ will debut on Hulu on October 24.

Mike Tindall insists Royal Family don’t live like Downton Abbey

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Tindall has revealed the Royal Family don’t live like ‘Downton Abbey’.
The former England rugby star – who has been married to King Charles’ niece Zara since 2011 – has opened up on his experiences with the royals, and how late monarch Queen Elizabeth II enjoyed a more “normal” life, despite people expecting it to be likes a scene from Julian Fellowes’ period drama.
In his new book ‘The Good, the Bad and the Rugby – Unleashed’ – which he co-wrote with James Haskell and Alex Payne – he said: “I’m sometimes asked if the Queen did informality like ‘normal’ people, and the answer to that is yes.
“Her life wasn’t like an episode of ‘Downton Abbey’, with meals on long tables and everyone dressed in their finery every night.”
The 45-year-old star used to enjoy settling down to “watch the racing” with the Queen – who died aged 96 in September 2022 – comparing it to how “lots of people” spend time with their grandmother.
He added: “Zara and I would often watch the racing with her on TV, as I’m sure lots of people reading this have done with their gran.”
Mike also recalled enjoying “relaxed” lunches, with more a focus on “spending precious time” with loved ones rather than keeping up appearances.
He wrote: “Lunches were also relaxed, especially up in Scotland, where lunch would often be heading out into the open space of the Scottish Highlands for a picnic.
“There’s a great picture of my daughter Mia sitting with the Duke of Edinburgh that captures exactly what those afternoons were like: members of a very close family who loved each other dearly spending precious time together.”
It’s believed the photo he’s referring to is the same one he shared after Prince Philip died in 2021.
He wrote on Instagram at the time: “It’s been a very sad week but it has given us time to reflect on great memories and stories both personal and shared.
“A devoted family man who we will forever miss but always love.”

Celine Dion praises importance of ‘hope’

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion has spoken of the importance of “hope” amid her battle with stiff person syndrome.
The 56-year-old singer stepped out of the spotlight in 2022 after being diagnosed with the condition – a progressive neurological disorder that affects her muscles – but returned to live performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony this summer, and on Tuesday (22.10.24), she admitted she “misses” being on stage.
Celine attended the 2024 Spirit of Life Gala staged by the City of Hope – a cancer research and treatment programme – to present the Spirit of Life Award to Jay Marciano, Chairman and CEO of AEG Presents, and reflected on how hard it can be to overcome “tremendous challenges” in life.
After receiving a standing ovation, People magazine reports she told the audience at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium: “This is the first time I’ve been on a stage since I was up on that tower. And I kind of miss it.
“This City of Hope is so well-named. It does so much more than the important research leading to new treatments. It provides care to people in their greatest time of need at the most difficult and challenging moment of their lives. That is so important.
“It provides the most precious ingredient, it provides hope. And I know how important that is.
“I know that in our wonderful lives, filled with family and joy and love, we can also be presented with tremendous challenges, with great tests about faith and strength. To many of us who experience this at some point, what a joy it is to come together with everyone in this room tonight to do everything in our power to help spread this great gift of hope.”
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker praised the choice of Jay to receive the Spirit of Life Award – which honours leaders for their contributions to their community and profession – as she felt his career had survived great challenges but been marked by consistent displays of empathy.
She added: “You have shown such a generosity of spirit, a kindness and understanding of humanity that your legacy seems to be building itself.”

Liam Neeson doesn’t date anymore

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Neeson is “past all that” when it comes to dating.
The 72-year-old actor was widowed when Natasha Richardson – who he married in 1994 – died in a skiing accident in 2009 aged 45 and a year later, he had a two-year relationship with public relations executive Freya St. Johnston, but he has insisted he is no longer looking for love at this stage in his life.
Asked if he still dates, he told People magazine: “No, in a word. I’m past all that.”
When he isn’t working, the ‘Taken’ star loves to spend time with his and Natasha’s two sons, Micheal, 29, and 28-year-old Daniel, hanging out while watching their favourite TV shows or movies.
He said: “Just simple stuff. We used to do a bit of fly-fishing together. We haven’t done it for several years now.”
These days, Liam tries to schedule around two months off between projects and his ideal day off would involve a lie-in before a lazy day with a Patricia Cornwell mystery novel or a Nordic noir tale.
He said: “I’m an avid reader.”
The ‘Absolution’ actor feels very “lucky” with his life.
He said: “I’m incredibly lucky. I never, ever forget that. Even on a bad day on a movie set, for example, I always nip myself and say, ‘Come on, come on. You have nothing to complain about.’ And it’s true.”
In the years before finding love with Natasha, Liam dated Dame Helen Mirren for four years until 1985 and still has fond memories of their time together, in particular a “lovely” vacation in France.
The ‘Retribution’ actor – who is still in occasional contact with his former flame – said: “I remember going to see a bullfight there with Helen, which was extraordinary. Got really mixed feelings about that, seeing extraordinary acts of bravery and then seeing this horrible death.
“Then we were on the Loire Valley camping. Oh my God, it was gorgeous. Helen was a good cook, cooking on outside fire and stuff. Lovely.”

This week, it was reported that the late Liam Payne will be honoured at the EMAs, following his tragic death aged 31 last week, with his ‘For You’ collaborator Rita Ora rumoured to be leading the tributes.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Bosses have all agreed that they want to host a tribute to Liam during next month’s MTV EMAs.
“In the coming days they will start drawing up official plans.
“Officially Rita is yet to be announced, but she is hosting this year’s awards and will be involved in whatever MTV decides to do.
“She and Liam have been close for years and grew in the industry together. Obviously she is devastated by his passing.”
Liam and Rita, who is rumoured to be hosting the ceremony, previously worked together on 2018 single ‘For You’ which featured on the ‘Fifty Shades Freed ‘ soundtrack and the singer shared her grief over his passing in an emotional performance of the song in Japan last week.
Rita appeared to break down in tears as she told the audience in Osaka: “I can’t even sing this right now – can you do it for me?”
She later mouthed: “I’m sorry” before walking offstage to compose herself.
The MTV EMAs were previously held in the UK back in 2017 and Rita helped with hosting duties while Liam performed his solo single ‘Strip That Down’ during the show.
Liam died from “multiple traumas” that caused “internal and external bleeding” after he plunged from a third-floor balcony at the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16.
The 2024 MTV EMAs will broadcast at 9pm GMT Sunday 10th November on MTV UK, Channel 5 and Pluto TV, and will be available on demand on Paramount+ from 12th November.

The Substance’s Margaret Qualley listened to Charli XCX to get into character

OHMYGOSSIP — Margaret Qualley’s character in ‘The Substance’ was inspired by Charli XCX’s “old music”.
The 29-year-old actress plays party animal Sue in the satirical body horror film, who is the “more perfect” version of 61-year-old co-star Demi Moore’s Elizabeth Sparkle, and she revealed she channelled the 32-year-old pop star’s “energy” for her alter ego.
In a Brut America interview, the ‘Maid’ star – who is married to Charli’s collaborator Jack Antonoff, 40 – said: “To me, it’s kind of wild timing the way the universe works because we all just had the Brat Summer, and I was listening to Charli as my ‘Sue’ inspo.
“She has a lot of good kind of ‘Pump it Up’ girl songs. I got that kind of ‘Sue’ energy from Charli’s old music.
“So, that’s where my head was.”
Demi, meanwhile, quipped that her music choices were “more silence”.
The Coralie Fargeat flick follows a former A-list celebrity as she tries a black-market drug that temporarily makes her feel younger, and Demi was able to relate to the story as she herself has experienced “humiliation” over her looks during her Hollywood career.
She told Empire magazine: “It’s such a unique way to explore the issue of ageing, and the male perspective of the idealised woman that we’ve bought into. Not what’s been done to us, but the part we’ve played in doing it to ourselves.”
What I went through, the levels of humiliation, being told to lose weight. Whilst that was a circumstance I experienced, it was equally the process of what I put myself through, by placing too much of my overall value on my body. But within that has been my opportunity to overcome and actually find value in myself from who I am on the inside.”

Danielle Fishel reveals why she didn’t tell her young sons she had cancer

OHMYGOSSIP — Danielle Fishel didn’t tell her young sons she was diagnosed with cancer.
The former ‘Boy Meets World’ star found it hard enough telling her husband, Jensen Karp, that she had breast cancer, and so she decided to tell Adler, five, and Keaton, three, that she had a “boo-boo” that she had surgically removed from her body so they wouldn’t worry start worrying that their mom would “die”.
Speaking on the ‘Amy and T.J.’ podcast, she said: “It was hard for me to have to tell my husband.
“Both of his parents passed. His mom died in 2022 from lung cancer and she lived with us while she was going through chemo and her cancer treatment. My oldest son Adler was three when she passed and he was very close to her.”
She continued: “One of my big concerns was would he ask, ‘Where did Grandma go? Why is Grandma not here anymore?’ My big concern was that if we tell him that she was sick, he’s gonna think the next time he gets a cold that he’s gonna die.
“Or that the next time Mommy or Daddy is sick, he’s gonna think we’re gonna die. So I wanted to be honest with him about the fact that she had cancer and that cancer doesn’t always mean that you die, but sometimes it does. And in Grandma’s case, that’s what it was.”
The 43-year-old actress admitted it was awful having to keep the truth from her boys, but she just couldn’t “handle” them worrying that she might not make it.
She went on: “So when I was diagnosed, my fear was that I’m normally so honest with my kids but I can’t tell them I have cancer. I can’t handle that possibility that they’re gonna worry about me in that way.
“So they don’t know that I had cancer, but they do know that I had a boo-boo that I had surgically removed from my body and they needed to be gentle with me. I told them I love our bear hugs and I love wrestling with you, but my boo-boo means that I need to be gentle.”
This summer, Danielle had two successful lumpectomy procedures to remove the cancer, and after that, she told her sons her “boo-boo was all better”.
She said: “When I was able to wrestle with them and swing them around, Adler stopped and he said, ‘Mommy, is your boo-boo all better?’ and I was so happy to tell him that, yes, my boo-boo was all better.”
Danielle is not completely out of the woods yet, as she still needs to go through some form of radiation.
And despite catching the cancer early, the former Disney Channel star is still facing the possibility of lifelong medication.
She told E! News: “Being on hormone therapy, that’s a lifelong thing or at least until I’m all the way through menopause. When I first was diagnosed, I had a fellow cancer survivor reach out to me, and I was like, ‘Yeah, but thankfully mine is stage zero.’ And she wrote back and she said, ‘I just want you to know there is no easy cancer.’ And I thought about her saying that to me many times over the course of this treatment that I’ve been on so far.”

Baywatch star Michael Newman dead at 68

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Baywatch’ actor Michael Newman has died at the age of 68.
The screen star was best known for his role as lifeguard Mike “Newmie” Newman on the iconic NBC action-drama series, for which he starred in 150 episodes between 1989 and 2000, and sadly passed away from “heart complications” on Sunday (20.10.24), his friend, Matt Felker, confirmed to PEOPLE.
Michael had a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease, which he was first diagnosed with in 2006.
Matt said: “I got to see Mike the last time he was conscious and he looked [at] me and in typical Mike fashion said, ‘You’re just in time.'”
Michael opened up about living with the progressive neurological condition – which affects a person’s mobility and causes stiffness and tremors – and how he lost out on experiences with his loved ones.
He told the outlet in January: “Everything changes.
“All those things that you thought you were going to do with your children and grandchildren, pictures we were going to take, all the plans I had … stopped.”
He admitted: “It’s a slow burn.
“Parkinson’s disease doesn’t wait for you. It keeps on plowing in.”
Michael’s ‘Baywatch’ alter ego Newmie was based on himself as he was a lifeguard in real life.
The actor wasn’t intended to star on the show – which also starred the likes of David Hasselhoff (Mitch Buchannon) and Pamela Anderson (C.J. Parker) – and was first employed as a stuntman, but he eventually got to be right at the heart of the action.
Speaking to the publication, he said: “I was too useful for them to get rid of me.
“I basically started off as a stuntman, and after seven years of being out of the opening credits, I finally was anointed and allowed to be in the front of the show.”
After his stint on ‘Baywatch’, Michael retired from acting because he found it “hard” to “look natural” on camera.
He explained: “If you didn’t have to be there, why would you be?
“Let’s be honest … there’s not too many actors that have survived the years of working in Hollywood.”
He admitted there are negative sides to the industry that led to his exit.
Michael said: “Having to deal with the people who scratch your name out on the script and put their name on there?
“That kind of thing … you never get used to that.”
Michael is survived by his wife, Sarah, and their son Chris and daughter Emily, as well as their granddaughter, Charlie.

Jason Donovan compares former lover Kylie Minogue to ‘old uni friend’

OHMYGOSSIP — Jason Donovan says Kylie Minogue is like an “old uni friend”.
The former lovers and co-stars, both 56, shot to fame portraying couple Scott and Charlene Robinson on soap ‘Neighbours’ in the ’80s, and Jason believes their “chemistry” is why the show became such a huge hit.
He told Australia’s WHO magazine: “It worked so well because that chemistry with myself and Kylie was very strong and real.
“I would argue that is why the show became as successful as it did those early years.”
The former co-stars are still in contact via WhatsApp and Jason gushed that he is “in awe of everything” the ‘Padam Padam’ hitmaker does.
He said: “We have a WhatsApp chat.
“We often have to talk about things we’ve done and anniversaries coming up for Neighbours or ‘Especially For You’. She’s like an old uni friend – you don’t always talk, but when you do, you pick up right where you left off. I’m in such awe of everything she has done.”
Kylie and Jason reunited for what was thought to be the final episode of ‘Neighbours’ in 2022, and the pop star admitted it was an emotional day of filming.
She shared a number of pictures of herself and Jason in character as Charlene and Scott and wrote: “Yep, there were tears! Congratulations to the @neighbours team for the heart-warming and celebratory finale. You’ll be in my heart always!!! #neighbours @jdonofficial.”
Kylie joined the cast of ‘Neighbours’ in 1986 but left the series in 1988 to embark on a pop career and went on to enjoy decades of chart success with hits such as ‘I Should Be So Lucky’, and ‘Can’t Get You out of My Head’ and even teamed up with then-boyfriend Jason to release chart-topper ‘Especially For You’ in 1989, which could be heard playing as the on-screen couple made their return to Ramsay Street in the then-finale.
‘Neighbours’ initially aired on BBC One from 1986 until 2008 before being shown on Channel 5 and the soap relied on funding from the British network but in February 2022, the broadcaster confirmed they were to focus on UK drama instead.
However, ‘Neighbours’ was saved by Amazon Freevee, after the premium video-on-demand (VOD) streaming service bought the rights just months after the show came to an end in July 2022 after 37 years on screen.

Cyndi Lauper reveals secret to lasting marriage

OHMYGOSSIP — Cyndi Lauper has revealed the secret to her happy marriage is being able to “share stuff”.
The ‘Girls Just Want to Have Fun’ hitmaker and ‘The Notebook’ star David Thornton, both 71, are celebrating their 33rd wedding anniversary in November – and she says the secret to her decades-long marriage is being open and honest when things get tough.
The Grammy winning star told PEOPLE: “You have your highs and lows of course, but sometimes, the things you think are important when you’re young just aren’t important.
“Your partner is the best friend you’ll ever have, that you’ll spend the most time with. So you have to talk to them, share stuff.”
David and Cyndi first locked eyes on each other on the set of the 1991 comedy mystery film ‘Off and Running’ before tying the knot on November 24 of that year at a Friend’s house in New York.
In an interview with The Independent in 1992, David recalled how “friendship and tolerance” was an important factor for both of them.
He said: “She began inviting me to join her for dinner regularly, and after a couple of weeks it dawned on me that I really liked her an awful lot.
“Neither of us is a Quaker, but we liked the idea of friendship and tolerance being the theme, as our friends come from all walks of life and all kinds of political and sexual persuasions.”
The smitten couple welcomed their only child, a son named Declyn, in 1998, and he followed in his mother’s musical footsteps.
Cyndi is preparing to bid farewell to touring with her on-going ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour’ set to conclude on February 28, 2025, in Paris, France after 35 shows.
Her last jaunt is also her first major tour in a decade.

Sebastian Stan auditioned for Bono’s Spider-Man musical

OHMYGOSSIP — Sebastian Stan has revealed he auditioned for Bono’s ‘Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark’ musical.
The U2 frontman, 64, scored the Broadway production, which opened in 2011, alongside his bandmate The Edge, 63, but he didn’t end up landing the part, with Sebastion admitting the Irish rocker “clearly” didn’t think he was the right fit.
Speaking to NME with co-star Jeremy Strong, 45, the pair were asked if either of the actors met any musicians they admire, to which, Sebastian spilled: “I actually auditioned, never got it, but I auditioned for the ‘Spider-Man’ musical that Bono wrote the music for.
“I did a workshop and at one point they were like, ‘Oh, Bono is gonna be watching it. It doesn’t mean you have the part, but Bono will be watching.’ Anyway, that was as close as I got. He clearly didn’t [like it because] I clearly didn’t get that part!”
The pair are starring in the movie ‘The Apprentice’, which sees Sebastian as a young Donald Trump and Jeremy as the influential right-wing lawyer Roy Cohn, and film has been riling up Trump supporters.
However, Sebastian has insisted ‘The Apprentice’ is only about Trump’s “character” rather than his politics.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “At the end of the day, it’s about him as a character. Forget the politics and just go in there and use your instinct and ask yourself: Do you trust this man? That’s what the movie is about.”
While he insisted the movie was not trying to take sides before the election, the Marvel star added he wanted audiences to “dig deeper” into Trump.
When asked if he believed the Ali Abbasi film would influence voters, Stan said: “I don’t know, but what I do hope is that people, regardless of their opinion, are curious enough to try to dig deeper.
“Because I think we’re living in a world where it’s so easy to be handed an opinion everywhere you turn. And I know a lot of people love social media, and that’s where they go for information and for things. You’re being told what to think. You’re being told what to do.”
Trump and his team have reportedly been trying to censor the film since May, and the ‘Thunderbolts’ actor blasted the businessman for being “hypocritical” due to his constant calls for free speech.
He continued: “If you have any inkling of interest, go and really ask yourself: ‘Who is this man? Do you really know? Do you really trust this person to lead a country?’
“He’s been trying to censor this movie, and at the same time, he claims that he acknowledges free speech … I can’t think of anything more hypocritical.”

Former Abercrombie CEO arrested on sex trafficking charges

OHMYGOSSIP — Former Abercrombie and Fitch chief executive Mike Jeffries has been arrested on sex trafficking charges.
The 80-year-old businessman – who served as the company’s CEO between 1992 and 2014 – has been arrested in Florida and is now due to appear in court on Tuesday (22.10.24) in West Palm Beach.
Speaking at a news conference in New York, Breon Peace, the US attorney for the Eastern District of New York, has accused Jeffries of using his “power, his wealth and his influence, to traffic men for his own sexual pleasure and that of his romantic partner, Matthew Smith”.
Smith has also been arrested in Florida, while a third man, James Jacobson, has been arrested in Wisconsin and is facing the same charges.
Jacobson acted as a “recruiter to find men”, according to Peace, who has accused him of engaging in “try outs with men across the world where he would typically pay them to engage in sex acts with him”.
What’s more, Peace has accused all three men of using “force, fraud and coercion to traffic those men for their own sexual gratification”.
Meanwhile, James E Dennehy, the FBI’s assistant director in charge in New York, observed that the indictment “highlights the abhorrent behaviour” of Jeffries, Smith and Jacobson.
Dennehy has also described the allegations as “disturbing, dishonourable and disgraceful”.
The FBI’s investigation followed a BBC report in 2023 that explored allegations of sexual exploitation and abuse from Jeffries and his partner. The investigation claimed to have exposed a sophisticated criminal operation involving a middleman and a network of recruiters.
Jeffries and Smith both previously denied any wrongdoing.
In response to the latest developments, Jeffries’ lawyer told the BBC: “We will respond in detail to the allegations after the Indictment is unsealed, and when appropriate, but plan to do so in the courthouse – not the media.”

JoJo feels ‘liberated’ after releasing her memoir

OHMYGOSSIP — JoJo found releasing her memoir to be a “really liberating” experience.
The 33-year-old singer – whose real name is Joanna Levesque – released ‘Over the Influence’ earlier this year, and she’s been thrilled by the public’s response over recent months.
JoJo told Us Weekly: “It felt really liberating, and I wasn’t sure how it would feel.
“I wasn’t sure how it would be received. But the process of trying to remember different aspects of my life, it’s actually really cathartic and empowering to then realise how much it connects us as people, as opposed to separates us.”
The public’s response has also helped JoJo to overcome her own “shame”.
She said: “In talking about various things that I used to carry a lot of shame about, it actually made me feel more connected to just anybody I meet.”
JoJo previously explained that she wrote her memoir in a bid to “make sense” of her music career.
The singer – who released her debut single, ‘Leave (Get Out)’, back in 2004 – told Access Hollywood: “This year is 20 years since I started in the music industry.
“I put out my first single at 13, and with that big milestone coming up, I wanted to start to make sense of what the hell has been happening in my life.”
JoJo feels that her memoir is ultimately a “redemption” story.
She said: “I’m excited for the conversations that I hope will be sparked from my fans and my community reading this book, and also people outside of it.
“I hope that people who don’t know who I am, don’t care about me, read this as well. [It’s] a story about redemption and about pivoting, and about, ‘You think your life is over?’ Or, ‘you think this is the worst thing in the world?’ It’s not over until you give up.”

Kristin Cavallari wants Jay Cutler to ‘get the help he needs’

OHMYGOSSIP — Kristin Cavallari hopes Jay Cutler “gets the help that he needs”.
The 41-year-old former sports star was recently arrested in Tennessee on charges of DUI and illegal possession of a gun while intoxicated, and Kristin has addressed the incident during the latest episode of her ‘Let’s Be Honest’ podcast.
The 37-year-old TV star said: “Really quickly, just before we get into the episode, I wanted to hop on here and just let you guys know that this episode was recorded right before a very public incident happened last week with my ex-husband.”
Kristin insisted that she will “not be commenting on what happened” with Jay. However, the reality TV star – who was married to Jay between 2013 and 2022 – did voice her support for her ex-husband.
Kristin – who has Camden, 12, Jaxon, ten, and Saylor, eight, with the former NFL star – explained: “I do, of course, wish Jay nothing but the best and I do hope that he gets the help that he needs. But that’s the only thing I will be saying about it publicly.”
Kristin and Jay announced their split via a joint statement back in April 2020.
The former couple said on Instagram at the time: “With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce. We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart. We ask everyone to respect our privacy as we navigate this difficult time within our family. (sic)”
