Gary Numan says parenthood was ‘shockingly difficult and traumatic’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Numan says becoming a father was “shockingly difficult and traumatic”.
The 66-year-old ‘Cars’ hitmaker didn’t became a first -time dad until he was in his mid-40s when he welcomed eldest daughter Raven with his wife Gemma O’Neill and he admits he thought parenthood was going to be “easy” until his little girl arrived.
Gary told the Sunday Times newspaper: “I was 45 when I first became a father. I thought I was ready, that I had everything worked out. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever done.
“Parenthood is a moving-goalposts situation to the extreme, and each of my three daughters has moved the goalposts! All that confidence I had, the arrogance about how easy I thought it was going to be, when instead it was shockingly difficult and traumatic.”
Gary is dad to Raven, 21, Persia, 19, and Echo, 17, and all three girls still live at home with their parents and the singer admits he is keen to keep them close.
He added: “Have I been a good dad? I hope so. Everyone still lives at home … which is nice, I want to hang on to them.
“They’re important to me; I want to do right by them. Whenever I’ve said the wrong thing in anger, it bothers me for a long time. I take my mistakes really hard. Fortunately Raven hasn’t suggested I’ve said anything of lasting damage.”
Gary previously revealed the couple were told they were not able to have children naturally so they used IVF to start a family and he admitted the process was marred by heartbreak – which included the loss of Raven’s twin.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “We were told we couldn’t have children naturally because we had some unexplained infertility, so we went down the IVF route.
“Gemma got pregnant first time and we couldn’t believe our luck, but she miscarried at three months, which was horrible. We tried again many times without success, but then Raven came along (though her twin died), followed by Persia and Echo.”

David Hasselhoff pays tribute to late Michael Newman

OHMYGOSSIP — David Hasselhoff has paid tribute to “amazing” Michael Newman.
The 72-year-old actor told how his late co-star – who died on Sunday (20.10.24) from heart complications after battling Parkinson’s Disease – “saved [his] life” four times during their time working on ‘Baywatch’ together and said he will “miss” his friend.
He wrote on Instagram: “Newman was a warrior….he literally saved my life at least 4 times. He did the transfer from the scarab to jet skis several times perfectly. What an amazing man. He was never afraid of the water.
” I remember directing him in a few episodes and he was really good. He became a great actor. We will all miss him. #MichaelNewman #Baywatch (sic)”
Co-star Jeremy Jackson, 44, commented on his on-screen dad’s tribute to their late co-star.
He wrote: “RIP to the one and only @newmiefish (sic)”
Michael’s passing was announced by his friend Matt Felker on Tuesday (22.10.24).
He told People magazine: “I got to see Mike the last time he was conscious and he looked [at] me and in typical Mike fashion said, ‘You’re just in time.'”
Michael opened up about living with the progressive neurological condition – which affects a person’s mobility and causes stiffness and tremors – and how he lost out on experiences with his loved ones.
He told the outlet in January: “Everything changes.
“All those things that you thought you were going to do with your children and grandchildren, pictures we were going to take, all the plans I had … stopped.”
He admitted: “It’s a slow burn.
“Parkinson’s disease doesn’t wait for you. It keeps on plowing in.”
Michael’s ‘Baywatch’ alter ego Mike “Newmie” Newman was based on himself as he was a lifeguard in real life.
The actor wasn’t intended to star on the show, and was first employed as a stuntman, but he eventually got to be right at the heart of the action.
Speaking to the publication, he said: “I was too useful for them to get rid of me.
“I basically started off as a stuntman, and after seven years of being out of the opening credits, I finally was anointed and allowed to be in the front of the show.”
After his stint on ‘Baywatch’, Michael retired from acting because he found it “hard” to “look natural” on camera.
He explained: “If you didn’t have to be there, why would you be?
“Let’s be honest … there’s not too many actors that have survived the years of working in Hollywood.”

Kylie Jenner felt ‘lonely’ after Jordyn Woods scandal

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner felt “really lonely” after her 2019 falling-out with Jordyn Woods.
The 27-year-old star put some “distance” between herself and Jordyn, after she was spotted kissing Tristan Thompson – but Kylie now believes she’s benefited from the situation, suggesting that it led her to become more independent.
The make-up mogul told the November 2024 issue of ELLE: “I was heartbroken.
“We’ve always tried to talk through things, so it’s never been a full cold-turkey cutoff; it was needed distance. Anytime something happened, good or bad, and I needed to call someone, it would always be her.
“To lose that person felt really lonely, but I had to go through that. I learned so much, gained so much independence, and was there for myself. It helped me grow up a little bit, because we were so attached at the hip. I think that in order for us both to grow, she needed to spread her wings and do what she needed to do as well.”
Kylie fell out with Jordyn, 27, after she was spotted kissing Tristan, who was in a relationship with Khloe Kardashian, Kylie’s half-sister, at the time.
However, in 2023, Kylie explained how she reconciled with the model.
She told Interview magazine: “Jordyn and I, we always stayed in touch throughout the years and we would meet up at my house and catch up and just talk through everything.
“We never fully cut each other off, and one day, naturally, we were like, we want to get sushi and we don’t want to hide anymore.
“There’s a learning lesson in everything, and I think that in a weird way, everything happens how it’s supposed to happen. We were so attached at the hip that we needed space to grow into the people that we were supposed to be. I needed that independence and that confidence because she was like my security blanket for so long.”

“People on my team are like, ‘That’s Janelle. Every day she records her songs in astronaut costumes.’ I do what makes me happy.
“More than ever these days, we have got to find the happy and be diligent about it. I don’t want to go into meetings giving myself a boring experience. I must entertain myself.
“As I grow as an artist, my spirit always leads me back to what makes me happy. If I didn’t get paid $1 to do this, will I walk away and say I enjoyed that experience or working with those people?”

The singer shared: “Halloween is such a happy space for me. It has been since I was a kid.
“It opens a larger conversation of how do we become agents of joy? How do we become agents of happy? How do we become agents of imaginations? I’m just doing what I want to see more of. Bringing Halloween experiences and creative experiences is heart work, not hard work. I do this because my heart needs it.”
Janelle actually has her own TV and film company, Wondaland Pictures, and she’s keen to make more Halloween-themed content moving forwards.
She said: “Halloween gives me so many original IP ideas for horror films, psychological thrillers, science fiction, sci-fi worlds.”

“When I was posting 24/7 – waking up, what I’m eating for breakfast, what I’m wearing for the day, the colour of my nails, what car I’m driving, where I’m driving to – I didn’t have an intense schedule. I wasn’t working as much; I didn’t have kids and just had more time.

King Charles ‘is in good spirits’

OHMYGOSSIP — King Charles is “happy in his work”, according to a royal expert.
The 75-year-old monarch and Queen Camilla recently embarked on a six-day visit to Australia, and Charles is said to be in “good spirits” after being diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.
Royal biographer Robert Hardman told PEOPLE: “He is in good spirits. He is not having to second guess what Buckingham Palace might think on a particular issue, as he is in charge.”
Charles also appreciated having the support of Camilla, 77, on the royal tour.
Robert said: “She keeps his spirits up and is a reassurance, but she also steps in here and there.
“We know she is not particularly keen on long-haul travel and yet has thrown herself into this trip.”
The tour was Charles’ first visit to Australia since he became the country’s head of state in September 2022. The tour was also the monarch’s biggest trip since his cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
In February, Buckingham Palace announced that Charles had been diagnosed with “a form of cancer”.
The king underwent a “corrective procedure” for an enlarged prostate and doctors noticed a “separate issue of concern” that led to his cancer diagnosis.
The Palace said at the time: “During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted.
“Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
“His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.
“Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.
“The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure.
“He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.”

Anna Kendrick recalls escaping an abusive relationship

OHMYGOSSIP — Anna Kendrick found it “very difficult” to recognise she was in an abusive relationship.
The 39-year-old actress was in an abusive relationship for seven years – but Anna admitted that, for many years, she found it “difficult to identify” the truth about her former partner.
During an appearance on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, Anna shared: “I was, like, reading all the articles and going, ‘This doesn’t look … like, some of it looks like how they’re describing it, but not completely’.
“It was like an overnight switch … that went on for about a year. So it didn’t follow that more traditional, like, it’s like a frog in boiling water thing where it started slow.”
Anna – who hasn’t revealed the name of her ex-partner – initially assumed that she was the cause of their relationship problems.
However, the Hollywood star eventually came the realisation that he was the problem in their relationship.
She explained: “It came out of absolutely nowhere, but was built on this foundation of I had so much love and trust for that person, so I thought it had to be me.
“Like, if one of us is crazy, it must be me. So it was very, very difficult to actually go, ‘No, I think this is him. I think this is his stuff’. I turned my life completely upside down trying to fix whatever was wrong with me.”
Anna’s therapist actually “bought his stuff kind of hook, line, and sinker”.
The ‘Pitch Perfect’ star added: “I’ve had several sessions with him in the last several years where he’s apologised to me because I think he realised what was going on, like, right toward the end.”

Kelsey, 69, then replied: “Yeah, you came and told me that one day.”
Ted continued: “And it’s stuck in both of our memories. But I feel like, f***, I don’t know. I missed out on the last 30 years of Kelsey Grammer, and I feel like it’s my bad, my doing, and I almost feel like apologising to you.

Kylie Jenner recalls struggling with body image

OHMYGOSSIP — Kylie Jenner struggled with body image during her pregnancies.
The 27-year-old star – who has Stormi, six, and Aire, two, with her ex-partner Travis Scott – initially struggled to come to terms with her new figure.
The brunette beauty told the November 2024 issue of ELLE magazine: “I got pregnant when I was 19. Having a baby really young was more shocking, maybe, because I saw these changes happening to my body – all these new stretch marks and things that I didn’t have before.”
Kylie overcame her postpartum depression with the help of her mom, her friends and her sisters.
And the make-up mogul now feels “more confident” than ever before.
She said: “I haven’t had a baby in a few years. The first part of my twenties was having children, learning what my personal style was and then losing it – not knowing how to dress, gaining 60 pounds for both pregnancies. It took me a year to feel like myself again.
“At 27, I feel more confident and more like myself than ever.”
By contrast, Kylie previously claimed that she didn’t feel under pressure to lose weight.
The reality star said on ‘The Kardashians’: “I feel like with your first baby, it’s like a shock to see your body change so much. This time around, I don’t feel that way at all.
“Maybe mentally it’s harder, but seeing my body and stuff, I just, I trust the process.”
Kylie also revealed that she was looking at her body, and motherhood, through a totally different lens.
She explained: “I’m way less stressed about my weight and what I look like and more into the feminine energy and the fact that I made a baby.”

Rob then explained: “I mean, Demi and I briefly – I’m not telling tales out of school – we briefly had a thing.
“Look, anytime you put young 20-something men and women together, hook-ups are inevitable.”
Rob and Demi, 61, could actually reunite at some point to make a ‘St. Elmo’s Fire’ sequel.
Speaking about the possibility, Rob said: “It’s moving along.
“It’s going a little more slowly than I would have liked, but that’s a good thing because we’re trying to find the right, writer and the right story. But all of the actors, everybody is on board. Everybody’s excited.”
Rob is “super excited” about the prospect of making a sequel.
The actor said: “I actually think there’s a lot to be said about why we’re doing it and I’m super excited about it. Hopefully we can pull it off.”

Matty Healy refuses to write about ‘casual romantic liaisons’

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy doesn’t intend to write about his “casual romantic liaisons”.
The 35-year-old singer – who dated Taylor Swift for a few months in 2023 – has insisted that he doesn’t have any interest in writing about his love life.
The 1975 frontman said on the ‘Doomscroll’ podcast: “Last year I became a way more well-known public figure for loads of different reasons. The only reason that I was interested in is kind of like, what I was doing.
“So I think that a lot of artists, they become very interested in their lore, or they become interested in the things that have happened outside of their art that people know about, and they want to address that. And fair enough, do you know what I mean?”
Matty was more willing to write about his love life in the early years of his career. But the singer doesn’t feel that it’s necessary anymore.
He said: “I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about … I don’t know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons or whatever it may be that I’ve kind of become known for, just because I was famous.
“I think that that’s an obvious thing to draw from. And I’m just not interested in it. And I think like, the maintenance of the status quo is something that I always fight against.
“So the idea of making a record about something that personally happened to me, that by the time I put it out is gonna be like two years old, I see people doing that as well, and it’s not interesting.”

Speaking to People magazine, she quipped: “I am open to darn near anything. Do you not know me? That’s how I get in trouble.
“I had my eye on Marty Short, but that trollop Meryl Streep got in my way. You cannot trust these Hollywood phonies.”
Martin, 74, and Meryl, 75, have been linked over the past few months amid speculation their on-screen ‘Only Murders’ relationship had spilled over into real life.

His co-star and friend Steve Martin referenced the rumours on social media recently, as he shared a photo of the trio on Instagram with his own face crossed out.
For Kathy, she’s open to finding love again, but she isn’t sure if dating apps are the way forward.
She joked: “Can you imagine me on the dating apps? I’m taking advice, obviously I’ll be starting with FarmersOnly.com.
“I’m kidding, I don’t know anything about farming. But I am a bit of a hoe. There, I said it.”
The comic split from Randy in December 2023 shortly before their fourth wedding anniversary, and she never expected their union to end.
She recently told the New York Post newspaper’s Page Six column: “The divorce is what’s kicking my ass mentally.
“I thought I was going to be with this guy forever. I’m heartbroken, I admit it.
“I just didn’t think I’d be alone at this stage of the game, but hey, that’s on me. And I guess, I obviously have [to take] full responsibility.”

“Motherf****** have taken s*** too f****** far when you mess with my f****** kids…
“For the Child Protective Services to come to my f****** house? Not my house, my gated mansion at 11 p.m. while my children are sleeping because there’s an anonymous call … that my kids have been getting abused and beaten. Are you f****** dumb?”
The ‘Bodak Yellow’ hitmaker insisted no one had ever hit the children and both she and Offset have always prioritised their happiness and safety.
She said she would hire a private investigator to find out who had reported her so she could take legal action.
