Wiz Khalifa indicted by Romanian authorities

OHMYGOSSIP — Wiz Khalifa has been indicted by Romanian authorities after he smoked cannabis on stage in July.
The 37-year-old rapper – whose real name is Cameron Thomaz – was arrested and charged with illegal drug possession after smoking the drug on stage at the Beach, Please! festival in Costinesti, and in a new update from the country’s anti-organised crime prosecutors organisation DIICOT, they have confirmed an investigation has been completed and his indictment has been sent “to court for trial”.
A press release from the organisation said the ‘No Sleep’ hitmaker was indicted on 15 October for “committing the crime of possession of dangerous drugs, without the right, with a view to consumption [of his] own”.
It stated Wiz was found with 18.53 grams of cannabis on him, as well as a cannabis cigarette, and his case was submitted to the Contstanta Court.
After being arrested and released from custody, the ‘Black and Yellow’ hitmaker – who has 11-year-old Sebastian with ex-wife Amber Rose and three-month-old Kaydence with girlfriend Aimee Aguilar – apologised for smoking on stage and insisted he didn’t mean any “disrespect”.
He wrote on X: “Last nights show was amazing.
“I didn’t mean any disrespect to the country of Romania by lighting up on stage. They were very respectful and let me go. I’ll be back soon. But without a big a** joint next time.”
Wiz recently admitted Sebastian’s teachers “expect” him to attend meetings at school while stoned and is “pretty sure” his boy “smells” of the drug.
Asked if he ever goes to parent/teacher conferences while high, Wiz told Alex Cooper on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast: “Hell yeah. I’m pulling up stoned. They expect it.
“They know what’s up. It’s not like back in the day [where] you’re considered a bad parent if you smoke weed. I’m pretty sure my son smells like weed.
“I don’t know because I can’t smell it but I’m pretty sure he smells like pot.
“And yeah I’m pulling up stoned, I’m pulling up high because I want them to connect with the real me. They’re not going to get a fake version of me or this made-up parent that society makes you think that you’re supposed to be.”

Todd Chrisley fired from prison chapel job

OHMYGOSSIP — Todd Chrisley has been sacked from his job at a prison chapel.
The ‘Chrisley Knows Best’ star – who was jailed for 12 years after being found guilty of 12 counts of tax evasion and fraud earlier this year – had been working alongside the chaplain to help organise services for inmates at FPC Pensacola, Florida, but has now been relieved of his administrative duties by prison officials, his lawyer, Jay Surgent, told TMZ.
The lawyer believed Todd was doing a good job but had been working out of an office next to the facility’s Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP) and prison officials objected him speaking to the inmates in the scheme.
While it is unclear what the 55-year-old star had said to the RDAP participants – who spend part of their time in jail and the rest outside of the facility – his attorney thinks staff didn’t want him communicating about his incarceration with part-time prisoners who have access to the outside world.
Todd hopes to get his job back soon but is still able to attend religious services.
A spokesperson for the Federal Bureau of Prisons said: “For privacy reasons, we do not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including their work detail assignments.”
After Todd and his wife Julie were first found guilty of tax fraud, the reality star said they were putting their faith in God during the testing time.
Speaking before they reported to prison, Todd said on their ‘Chrisley Confessions’ podcast, Todd said: “I know all of you guys are wanting to know every detail that is going on in our lives, and I have to ask that you respect that we’re not allowed to talk about it at the present time. There will come a time.
“We did want to come on today and let everyone know that it’s a very sad, heartbreaking time for our family right now but we still hold steadfast in our faith and we trust that God will do what he does best because God’s a miracle worker.”
The couple have repeatedly proclaimed their innocence and claimed a trusted employee had been stealing and blackmailing them.

Sutton Foster files for divorce

OHMYGOSSIP — Sutton Foster has filed for divorce.
The ‘Younger’ actress has split from Ted Griffin – with whom she has seven-year-old daughter Emily – after almost a decade of marriage and submitted documents to legally end their union in the New York County Supreme Court on Tuesday (22.10.24), People magazine reports.
The former couple married in October 2014, just over a year after getting engaged.
After enduring fertility struggles, the pair adopted Emily as a baby and welcomed her into their home in 2016.
Five years later, the 49-year-old actress – who was previously married to fellow stage star Christian Borle – admitted she had always been “on the fence” about having children.
She told People magazine: “I was always very career-driven, and I had such a tricky relationship growing up with my own mom … It was never clear cut for me.
“I married in my 30s; it didn’t last, but one thing it did give me was this little inkling that I wanted to maybe have a family.”
However, Sutton’s relationship with Ted, 52, changed her outlook completely.
She continued: “When I met my husband, it was the first time that I finally went, ‘Oh, I get it. I understand why people have families.’ ”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Tony award-winning star reflected on how Emily was “thriving” because they were “all together” all of the time.
She said: “It’s the first time that we’ve all been together for this amount of concentrated time without one of us traveling or having to leave for work every day.
“Especially breakfast and dinner. We’re all sitting at the table and now my daughter will ask everyone, ‘How was your day?’ We all like to sit down and talk and we’ve made it a really important part of our day that we come together as a family.”

Grimes feeling ‘less gay’ after pregnancy

OHMYGOSSIP — Grimes “became way less gay” after being pregnant.
The 36-year-old singer has X Æ A-Xii, four, two-year-old Exa Dark Sideræl, aka Y, and Techno Mechanicus aka Tao, also two, with former partner Elon Musk and she has reflected on how she has changed since having her first child.
She wrote on X: “I became way less gay after I was pregnant, my ability to focus on reading and writing went way up, ad did my general creativity, but my ability to focus on technical things went *way* down.”
She asked: “Is this all explained by hormones?”
One commenter asked Grimes to clarify her comment and she said she was “just less interested in dating girls”.
Another user then joked: “No, I think that’s just from being in a heterosexual relationships with a bigot bae.(sic)”
The ‘Genesis’ hitmaker then quipped in response: “I feel like that should make me more gay though.”
Elon and Grimes’ relationship started in 2018 and two years later, the singer gave birth to their son. Y was born to a surrogate, and it was revealed last year the pair had quietly welcomed their third child into the world, though it is unclear if Tao was also born to a surrogate.
In July, the singer’s mother, Sandy Garossino, accused the Space X founder of “withholding” the children from their family.
She wrote on X: “Dear Elon @elonmusk It was nice seeing you on Father’s Day. I hope you got the card that I helped X make. He was so proud of it.
“I’m writing here as the only way I have to reach you.
“As you know, my 93 year old mother is now at end-of-life palliative care.
“She yearns to see and hold Claire’s children one last time. Especially the youngest, whom she has not yet met.
“She was thrilled for the kids’ planned visit to celebrate her birthday this weekend. Today.
“But those hopes were crushed when the trip was canceled.
“I am alarmed to learn that the children cannot come as you are withholding them and their needed passport documents from Claire…
“I write with a grandmother’s plea, asking you to honour your agreement, return the children, and provide the documents they need to see their great grandmother before she passes.
“Some moments in life last forever, and we get no second chances.
“Please Elon, I beg you. This is so painful for my mother, and concerning for the kids. Time is of the essence now.”
Grimes and Elon have been locked in a custody battle since 2022, but the current arrangements are unknown because court records were sealed earlier this year.

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez banned from criticising one another in son’s presence

OHMYGOSSIP — Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have been banned from criticising one another in front of their son.
The former couple – who split in 2016 after three years of marriage but only finalised their divorce in August 2023 – have been involved in a long-running dispute over their 11-year-old son Maceo, but their latest court hearing saw the ‘Bruised’ actress score one victory.
Over the summer, Halle made a complaint that her ex-husband was trying to take time off from their court-ordered co-parenting therapy sessions and asked the judge to force him to return to the classes.
And now, according to TMZ, the judge presiding over their case has sided with the 58-year-old star but noted Olivier had already complied with Halle’s request.
In addition, the former couple were ordered not to discuss any child custody issues with their son and banned from making negative comments about the other, or their partners, in front of Maceo.
The ‘Kings’ actress is also mother to 16-year-old daughter Nahla – who she has with former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry – and she is currently in a relationship with singer/songwriter Van Hunt after they became close during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
Halle previously revealed Maceo is so happy with the couple’s relationship, he staged an impromptu “commitment ceremony” for them.
During an appearance on ‘Live with Kelly and Ryan’, the ‘Monster’s Ball’ star explained: “This was a ceremony by an eight year old in the back seat of the car who said, ‘Mom, you should get married to him.’ I said, ‘Really, I should marry him?’
“He said, ‘Yeah, I pronounce you man and wife.’ So we’re like, ‘Oh, okay. We’re married!’ But we’re not married. So, that’s our commitment ceremony.”

Queen Elizabeth wanted to ‘contact late father’s spirit at seance’

OHMYGOSSIP — The late Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip once attended a seance, it has been claimed.
A new documentary focused on the royal family’s links in UFOs and the paranormal tells how back in 1953, psychic Lilian Bailey was driven from her home in Wembley, north London to a residence seven miles away in Kensington, where she was blindfolded and asked to commune with spirits in front of an unknown group.
Lilian summoned her spirit guide, Captain Wooton, who gave messages from the assembled guests and, according to ‘The King of UFOs’, after the seance was over, she removed her blindfold and was stunned to see her audience was the queen, her husband, her mother Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, and her cousin Princess Alexandria.
The queen had been hoping to hear from her recently-deceased father, King George VI, but while details of the messages the royal group received are not known, the queen mother was so impressed, she arranged further meetings with Lilian.
Elsewhere in the documentary, paranormal historian Richard Felix discusses the ghosts the royal families have seen at their official residences, including a recent sighting of Catholic priest Henry Walpole by Prince William and his wife Catherine, Princess of Wales, at their Anmer Hall home in Norfolk.
The ‘Most Haunted’ star said: “The thing is that obviously most of the, all of their properties, I would say are old, ancient. I mean to quote Longfellow, ‘All houses where in men have lived and died are haunted houses.’ So they’ve got buildings that have got history beyond anything.
” All of their properties have got ghosts in them. It’s as simple as that. And they know it. And yeah, they’re into it.
“I mean, ’cause they’ve witnessed it. They’ve seen things, heard things, sensed things.
“The late queen, of course, she saw her namesake, Queen Elizabeth in the library of Windsor Castle. The king. He’s seen the same ghost, Queen Elizabeth.
“His grandfather, George VI saw Queen Elizabeth I eight times in the library before the start of the Second World War.
“They live with their ghosts, ’cause people do. You see most people aren’t frightened of ghosts when they’re in their houses, because they just accept them.”
Director of ‘King Of UFOs’ Mark Christopher Lee added: “The royals are all at ease with the paranormal. Their homes are full of ghosts and the best part of it they just accept it. It doesn’t bother or scare them!”
‘The King Of UFOs’ is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Watch the trailer at https://youtu.be/szGw3MxzY0k?si=uldMjaX4V0ai0oK_

He wrote on Instagram: “Newman was a warrior….he literally saved my life at least 4 times. He did the transfer from the scarab to jet skis several times perfectly. What an amazing man. He was never afraid of the water.
” I remember directing him in a few episodes and he was really good. He became a great actor. We will all miss him. #MichaelNewman #Baywatch (sic)”
Co-star Jeremy Jackson, 44, commented on his on-screen dad’s tribute to their late co-star.
He wrote: “RIP to the one and only @newmiefish (sic)”
Michael’s passing was announced by his friend Matt Felker on Tuesday (22.10.24).
He told People magazine: “I got to see Mike the last time he was conscious and he looked [at] me and in typical Mike fashion said, ‘You’re just in time.'”
Michael opened up about living with the progressive neurological condition – which affects a person’s mobility and causes stiffness and tremors – and how he lost out on experiences with his loved ones.
He told the outlet in January: “Everything changes.
“All those things that you thought you were going to do with your children and grandchildren, pictures we were going to take, all the plans I had … stopped.”
He admitted: “It’s a slow burn.
“Parkinson’s disease doesn’t wait for you. It keeps on plowing in.”
Michael’s ‘Baywatch’ alter ego Mike “Newmie” Newman was based on himself as he was a lifeguard in real life.
The actor wasn’t intended to star on the show, and was first employed as a stuntman, but he eventually got to be right at the heart of the action.
Speaking to the publication, he said: “I was too useful for them to get rid of me.
“I basically started off as a stuntman, and after seven years of being out of the opening credits, I finally was anointed and allowed to be in the front of the show.”
After his stint on ‘Baywatch’, Michael retired from acting because he found it “hard” to “look natural” on camera.
He explained: “If you didn’t have to be there, why would you be?
“Let’s be honest … there’s not too many actors that have survived the years of working in Hollywood.”

Pamela Anderson isn’t ‘even thinking’ about dating

OHMYGOSSIP — Pamela Anderson isn’t “even thinking” about dating at the moment because she’s focused on her “love affair” with herself.
The 57-year-old ‘Baywatch’ star is believed to have been single since splitting from her fifth husband Dan Hayhurst in early 2022 but Pamela has confessed she’s not ready for another relationship because she wants to work on herself to become a “better partner”.
During an appearance on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, the host admitted she has been single for seven years and asked Pamela about her own relationship status. Pamela replied: “Yeah well variations of single, I guess … I don’t know. No, I’m not even thinking about that right now.
“I’m just thinking about this whole love affair I’m having right now with just life and myself and getting to know myself, then I’d be a better partner anyway.”
Pamela was married to Motley Crue star Tommy Lee – the father of her two sons – in the mid-1990s and went on to wed Kid Rock in 2006.
She was married to Rick Salomon twice before tying the knot with film producer Jon Peters in 2020. She later insisted the marriage wasn’t legally binding and she went on to wed fifth husband Dan later that year before splitting from him in 2022.
Pamela previously admitted she is single by choice and is “much happier now”.
She told Glamour magazine earlier this year: “This last couple of years … it was an effort to just stay alone and figure out what I love, what I like, what I want to do.”
She added: “I’m definitely much happier now. Ten years ago, I felt like a failure. I think it was probably the last 20 years, maybe.”
Pamela went on to say: “I’m finding I feel more comfortable in my skin now than I probably have in the last 30 years, But I didn’t realise it until now.”

Bruce Springsteen facing ‘questions of mortality’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bruce Springsteen has been facing “questions of mortality”.
The 75-year-old rocker admitted his wife Patti Scialfa’s battle with multiple myeloma – a rare form of blood cancer which she was diagnosed with in 2018 – and their advancing years has left the couple considering how much of their lives they have left.
Speaking at a Q+A following a screening of his new documentary, ‘Road Diary: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’, People magazine reports he said: “Hey, you get up around our age, and those are the things you’re thinking about.
“Patti and I have had to deal with her illness, and you’re worried about… it is a part of your life now, questions of mortality, and it just becomes a part of your life.”
And the ‘Born to Run’ hitmaker explained one of the factors in making his documentary – which chronicles The Boss and his band on their first tour since 2017 – was not knowing how long they have left.
He said: “Well, if we didn’t make it now, I’d be dead pretty soon. We got to make these while we can.”
Bruce credits his late friend, George Theiss – who died in 2018 aged 68 – for his outlook on life.
He said: “Like I say in the film, there’s a lot more yesterdays and goodbyes once you get up around where we are than there was 30 or 40 years ago.”
Although Patti still loves to perform with the E Street Band, her illness leaves her “intensely” fatigued so she has learned to be selective about when she gets on stage.
Bruce recently told The Times magazine: “They found it early on and she’s got really good doctors who have helped a lot. But it does fatigue her, very intensely, and that’s a problem. I’m doing a three-hour show, which is fatiguing for me and I’m pretty much at the top of my health. But she’s been great.
“We’ve worked out that she can come out and sing a few songs, and it’s important that the fans know what’s going on because they haven’t seen her in five years. Patti decided she owed that to her audience.”

They’re the youngest. They get there at five in the morning, they’re the last to leave, and if anything goes wrong, they get flung from a dizzy height.
“I know because my daughter was a runner for two years. And was appallingly treated by some very well known household names, in England …
“They changed their tune when they “found out who her father was which made it worse. It made me damn those people even more.”
When asked if he’s met any of the people involved, Grant didn’t name them but revealed he’s completely cut contact with one star.
He added: “I’ve met one person, yeah, and I’ll never speak to him again. ”

Oliver Hudson hated Goldie Hawn’s fans

OHMYGOSSIP — Oliver Hudson hated Goldie Hawn’s fans when he was growing up because autograph-hunters took his mom’s attention away from him.
The ‘Scream Queens’ star is the eldest child of actress Goldie and her musician ex Bill Hudson and he has revealed he got “angry” whenever anyone approached his mum for an autograph or a picture because he felt it interrupted their time together.
Speaking in an episode of his ‘Sibling Revelry’ podcast, he explained: “I reflect on these feelings that I used to have when I was a young son … people coming up and wanting her attention … it was detracting from her energy towards me, and I hated it.
“It would make me angry when people would come up to the table and want autographs and interrupt what we were doing, and it was this invasion for me as a young boy.”
However, Oliver admits his younger sister Kate Hudson wasn’t fazed by all the extra attention their mother received.
He added: “It was definitely a negative experience on that side for me, whereas Kate was like, ‘Bring it on’.”
Kate went on to reveal having a famous mom made her “more of an observant observer when you grow up that way,” adding: “It’s like you really see what’s happening around you when sometimes the parent that is in the centre of the attention is trying to ignore it.”
However, Kate found her own fame very different because she had to deal with paparazzi instead of fans.
She explained: “The weird thing is that when we were kids, it wasn’t necessarily paparazzi as much as it was fans. What happened with me when I became famous … it was sort of this new world of internet paparazzi, like, all of those sites.
“So, like, I would go to a restaurant, and there would be, like, 20 papos outside, and then I’d get cars chasing me. I didn’t grow up like that.”
Oliver went on to explain the family were snapped by photographers when they were kids but it mostly happened just at airports.
He added: “Back in the day, it was just the airport. You’re, like, walking out of the gate. All of a sudden, like, 80 paparazzi come out of nowhere … that was the ’80s.”

Rachael ray recovering from ‘bad falls’

OHMYGOSSIP — Rachael Ray is recovering from a few “bad falls”.
The 56-year-old chef is very hands-on at home and “really likes” doing chores, but she’s had to rest more in recent weeks after suffering some unexplained stumbles.
Speaking on her new podcast ‘I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead’, she said: “I am a homemaker. I love chores, I love being in the kitchen. I always work with my brain every day, I’m always writing something.
“But I really like chores. I like what people consider physical work. I like making dinners, planning dinners, making lists.”
Rachael explained she particularly likes “helping carry in the wood” but has had to leave that to husband John Cusmino of late.
She added: “I’ve had a couple of bad falls in the last couple of weeks, so I haven’t been doing that in a while.”
When she is fit to carry the wood, the culinary expert likes to turn it into a competition – even if she’s the only one knowingly participating.
She said: “[I think] ‘How many pieces of wood did John carry? Can I carry more? [but] I just say that to myself.”
The ’30 Minute Meals’ star also admitted she and John – who she married in 2005 – get into “huge screaming matches all the time” but she thinks their explosive rows are “healthy”.
She said: “It’s very hard, especially for hot-tempered or creative or vociferous, shall we say, loud people to be able to just calm it down.
“John and I don’t calm it down ever. We have huge screaming matches all the time.
“But I think that’s healthy, I really do, and I don’t trust people that are too quiet.
“Too quiet freaks me out. I prefer that you tell me what you think when you think it, and just let’s get it all out there. Get it out there.”
Asked by guest Jenny Mollen which of them says sorry first after an argument, Rachael admitted neither of them verbally apologises.
She said: “I don’t know that we ever apologise to each other.
“Eventually, I pat him on his a** or he kisses me on the head, and that’s just sort of it. That’s the apology. It’s just sort of understood, ‘All right. I still like your a**.’ ‘I still like your head.’ It’s kind of in that zone.”

Liam Neeson to retire from action movies

OHMYGOSSIP — Liam Neeson is to retire from making action movies in 2025.
The 72-year-old actor has become known for his tough guy roles over the years since starring in 2008 thriller ‘Taken’ but Neeson fears his days of rough-and-tumble roles are coming to an end and he wants to bow out before he’s unable to convincingly throw a punch.
He told PEOPLE: “I’m 72 – it has to stop at some stage. You can’t fool audiences. I don’t want [longtime stunt collaborator Mark Vanselow] to be fighting my fight scenes for me.”
Liam went on to set out a timetable for his action movie retirement, adding: “Maybe the end of next year. I think that’s it.”
The actor is set to show off his comedy chops in his next movie – a reboot of Leslie Nielsen’s police comedy ‘The Naked Gun’ – but Liam isn’t sure whether he will be able to swap action for funny roles going forward.
He said: “Whether I can carry it or not, I honestly don’t know.”
In the interview, Liam also revealed how his part in the ‘Taken’ franchise has infiltrated every part of his life – confessing a clerk at a New York court started reciting his speech from the first film when releasing him from jury dury.
He said: “[The clerk is] calling, I don’t know, 55, 60 of us. He gets to me, but all I’m hearing is, ‘I have a particular set of skills. Skills that would make me …’
“And I thought, ‘Oh f*** no’ … It was actually really sweet and flattering. As I was leaving, people started to applaud.”
Liam previously revealed he felt nervous about taking on the role of Frank Drebin Jr. – the son of Leslie Nielsen’s protagonist Detective Frank Drebin from the original ‘Naked Gun’ films – and is wary of the expectation that comes with reviving the spoof comedy franchise.
Liam told MovieWeb.com: “I’ve done a couple of, like, TV skits with Stephen Colbert and Ricky Gervais, but those were two minutes, three minutes tops. “But I’m a bit nervous about ‘Naked Gun’, because it’s a feature film … There’s lots of funny gags, lots of funny visual gags happening at the same time while ‘serious things’ are being discussed, you know? …
“It’s not a remake. It’s a reboot. It’s a totally different thing … I’ll do my own thing. I remember Leslie very well. I love those films. Especially that first, ‘Airplane!’ You know, ‘Don’t call me Shirley’. Just that line alone, I think, changed Leslie’s career up until he passed away.”

Gary Numan says parenthood was ‘shockingly difficult and traumatic’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gary Numan says becoming a father was “shockingly difficult and traumatic”.
The 66-year-old ‘Cars’ hitmaker didn’t became a first -time dad until he was in his mid-40s when he welcomed eldest daughter Raven with his wife Gemma O’Neill and he admits he thought parenthood was going to be “easy” until his little girl arrived.
Gary told the Sunday Times newspaper: “I was 45 when I first became a father. I thought I was ready, that I had everything worked out. I couldn’t have been more wrong. It’s the most difficult thing I’ve ever done.
“Parenthood is a moving-goalposts situation to the extreme, and each of my three daughters has moved the goalposts! All that confidence I had, the arrogance about how easy I thought it was going to be, when instead it was shockingly difficult and traumatic.”
Gary is dad to Raven, 21, Persia, 19, and Echo, 17, and all three girls still live at home with their parents and the singer admits he is keen to keep them close.
He added: “Have I been a good dad? I hope so. Everyone still lives at home … which is nice, I want to hang on to them.
“They’re important to me; I want to do right by them. Whenever I’ve said the wrong thing in anger, it bothers me for a long time. I take my mistakes really hard. Fortunately Raven hasn’t suggested I’ve said anything of lasting damage.”
Gary previously revealed the couple were told they were not able to have children naturally so they used IVF to start a family and he admitted the process was marred by heartbreak – which included the loss of Raven’s twin.
He told the Guardian newspaper: “We were told we couldn’t have children naturally because we had some unexplained infertility, so we went down the IVF route.
“Gemma got pregnant first time and we couldn’t believe our luck, but she miscarried at three months, which was horrible. We tried again many times without success, but then Raven came along (though her twin died), followed by Persia and Echo.”

The ‘Luther’ star was born in London but his mother Eve is from Ghana and his father Winston is from Sierra Leone and Idris is keen to embrace his heritage – revealing he is now preparing to leave the UK behind so he can start working on his plan to open film studios in Zanzibar and Ghana.
He told the BBC: “I would certainly consider settling down here [in Africa]; not even consider, it’s going to happen.
“I think [I’ll move] in the next five, 10 years, God willing. I’m here to bolster the film industry – that is a 10-year process – I won’t be able to do that from overseas. I need to be in-country, on the continent.”
Idris went on to reveal he wants to split his time between Accra in Ghana and Sierra Leone’s capital city of Freetown as well as the island of Zanzibar.
He added: “I’m going to live in Accra, I’m going to live in Freetown, I’m going to live in Zanzibar. I’m going to try and go where they’re telling stories – that’s really important.”
Idris insisted he wants to help change the way Africa is seen onscreen, saying: “If you watch any film or anything that has got to do with Africa, all you’re going to see is trauma, how we were slaves, how we were colonised, how it’s just war and when you come to Africa, you will realise that it’s not true.
“So, it’s really important that we own those stories of our tradition, of our culture, of our languages, of the differences between one language and another. The world doesn’t know that …
“We have to invest in our story-telling because when you see me, you see a little version of yourself and that encourages us.”
