National Television Awards 2024 nominations revealed as Michelle Keegan leads the way

OHMYGOSSIP — Michelle Keegan is leading the way on the 2024 National Television Awards shortlist.
The nominations have been revealed for next month’s annual TV gala – which will be hosted by Joel Dommett for the third time at The O2 arena in London on September 11 – and the 37-year-old star and her projects are up for a combined three awards.
Michelle is nominated for best drama performance for her role as Maya Stern in Netflix thriller ‘Fool Me Once’, and the show itself is up for the new drama prize.
Her Sky show ‘Brassic’ has also been shortlisted in the comedy category.
Despite facing a string of controversies and allegations of misconduct regarding the likes of Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ has been nominated in the talent show category alongside ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, ‘The Great British Bake Off’, ‘MasterChef’ and ‘The Voice UK’.
Judge Anton Du Beke is on the shortlist for the expert prize, while Claudia Winkleman – whose other show ‘The Traitors’ is nominated for reality competition – is listed in the TV presenter field.
However, she will have to overcome a tough challenge from the likes of Alison Hammond, Bradley Walsh, Stacey Solomon, and longtime winners Ant and Dec.
The Geordie Duo have won the award 22 times now, and they’ll be chasing their record 23rd victory.
They could also claim a win with the Bruce Forsyth Entertainment Award, as ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’ is up against ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ – another of their shows – along with ‘The Graham Norton Show’, ‘Michael McIntyre’s Big Show’ and ‘The Masked Singer’.
Meanwhile, ITV has confirmed that recipients for the Impact Award and Special Recognition Award will both be announced at a later date.

Celebs Go Dating expert says Helen Flanagan isn’t ‘afraid’ of showing her ‘vulnerabilities’

OHMYGOSSIP — Helen Flanagan is “not afraid to unveil all her vulnerabilities” on ‘Celebs Go Dating’.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress has impressed the E4 reality show’s dating expert Anna Williamson, who praised the 34-year-old star for showing a side to herself beyond her reputation as a soap “sex siren”.
She told new! magazine: “She’s known as being the ‘Corrie’ sex siren, a beautiful woman who wins awards for being a great actress, but she’s not afraid to unveil all her vulnerabilities.
“She’s just a woman who’s having a tough time in love and I think it’s really brave of her to come on.”
The show’s new sex expert Dr Tara had high praise for Jamelia, as she admitted she got the wrong impression of the ‘Superstar’ singer.
She explained: “I thought she would be a diva but she was far from it. She was very receptive towards criticism and advice. And that is something I did not expect.”
Dating expert Paul C Brunson pointed out that often celebrity’s come onto the show “with a misunderstanding that they’ll float through the process” before quickly realising “they can’t do that”.
Anna agreed, adding: “This is the biggest surprise for a lot of celebrities that come in with a game plan.
“We are the real deal and we don’t give a s*** about the drama, the tabloid headlines. We can spot a b********** a mile off.
“You will see in this series, there are plenty of occasions when the celebs aren’t truthful with us and it bites them on the a***.”
She insisted the trio are more “cross” when celebrities try to hide “the act”.
She said: “It’s not the act we’re cross about but the fact that they’ve withheld it.
“We aren’t wasting our time helping people when they give us b******* answers so we call them out. We’re not here to make friends. We’re here to help them.”

Pete Wicks will perform on Strictly Come Dancing with three broken ribs

OHMYGOSSIP — Pete Wicks will be performing on this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with three broken ribs.
The ‘TOWIE’ star was removed from the Channel 4 show ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’ on medical grounds when he took part in 2022 after a stunt he was required to do went wrong and he was knocked out cold and left with the brutal injuries.
The 36-year-old was tasked with jumping out of a helicopter into a lake when he knocked himself out with his backpack, hitting the surface at full speed, and was left facing down in the water, resulting in bone breaks and his place in the show being withdrawn.
Despite this accident being two years ago, Pete’s injuries have still not fully healed but he insists it will not stop him from taking to the dance floor in this year’s series of ‘Strictly’.
Speaking on his ‘Staying Relevant’ podcast, he said: “I’m 36, and I haven’t been to a gym in eight years. I broke three ribs (in SAS) and my ribs are still broken, which is going to be a pain.”
Pete also has previously admitted that the prospect of strutting his stuff on the ballroom floor is “absolutely terrifying”, but he’s excited to give it a go.
He said in a statement: “Dancing live in front of the nation every Saturday? Absolutely terrifying.
“But anyone who knows me knows I love a challenge and trying new things, so I’m genuinely looking forward to getting stuck in.”
Pete will join fellow celebrities JB Gill, Toyah Willcox, Shayne Ward, Nick Knowles, Paul Merson, Sam Quek, Tasha Ghouri, Sarah Hadland, Montell Douglas, Tom Dean, Jamie Borthwick, Nick Knowles, Chris McCausland, Wynne Evans and Dr Punam Krishan on the BBC One Latin and ballroom competition, which is marking its 20th anniversary.

Michaela Coel will write and star in new BBC drama First Day on Earth

OHMYGOSSIP — Michaela Coel will write and star in her new BBC drama ‘First Day on Earth’.
In her first TV drama since the award-winning series ‘I May Destroy You’ in 2020, the actress and filmmaker will also executive produce the 10-part series for the BBC, which will begin filming next year.
The show will follow British novelist Henri, played by Michaela, who moves to Ghana for a job and in an attempt to reconnect with her estranged father.
Michaela said in a statement to the BBC: “The process of creating First Day on Earth thus far has been a beautifully intimate experience, and I am excited to embark on the next phase to eventually offer this as another televisual gift for anyone willing to accompany Henri on what will be a wild odyssey!
“I am delighted to be working with VAL, the BBC and HBO again, and to partner with A24; thanks to all of their combined taste, care and expertise, I feel our show is in great hands.”
Announcing the series ahead of the Edinburgh TV Festival, Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, added: “Michaela is one of those exceptional talents whose work I have long admired.
“‘I May Destroy You’ is one of the reasons I wanted to join the BBC! In ‘First Day on Earth’, Michaela has created another unmissable series – truly original, heartfelt, hilarious, poetic storytelling and told in a way that only Michaela can. I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”
The 36-year-old star previously turned down $1 million from Netflix for ‘I May Destroy You’ because the streaming service wouldn’t give her a percentage of the copyright, and she’d advise aspiring filmmakers to follow their instincts in a similar way.
She told the Daily Telegraph newspaper: “I have this airy-fairy-woo belief that you’ll be OK when you say no to the things that don’t feel right, that don’t align with your sense of integrity. Sometimes it can take years to work out. But if you follow your moral compass then you will get there.”

The Boys star Claudia Doumit cast in M3GAN spin-off SOULM8TE

OHMYGOSSIP — Claudia Doumit has joined the cast of the ‘M3GAN’ spin-off ‘SOULM8TE’.
The 32-year-old actress – who is best known for playing Victoria Neuman in superhero TV series‘The Boys’ – will be starring opposite Lily Sullivan and David Rysdahl in the upcoming horror flick from Atomic Monster and Blumhouse Productions.
While details of Doumit’s role are currently unknown, the movie – which is set to be directed by ‘You Are Not My Mother’ filmmaker Kate Dolan and is due to hit theatres in June 2025 – will follow a man (Rysdahl) who acquires an A.I. robot (Sullivan) to help take his mind off of the recent loss of his wife.
In his attempts to turn the machine into a truly sentient and loving partner, the man accidentally creates a blood-thirsty soulmate.
Previously, Doumit had starred as the presidential hopeful Neuman in ‘The Boys’, though her tenure on the show came to an end after the character met a grizzly end at the hands of Billy Butcher (played by Karl Urban) in the season four finale.
Although she knew her alter ego was going to be killed off eventually because her story of seeking power was a “cautionary tale”, the ‘Timeless’ star said she found the character’s death “really shocking and beautiful” and added it was “an honour” to have such a memorable demise.
She told TheWrap: “In terms of that death, it was really shocking and beautiful but most of all it was a great death. That’s an honor in and of itself.
“A great death is what you want, especially in a show like this. This all sounds crazy for me to say, but I was really happy about it.
“What’s funny is that it also just felt like another day at work. I’m not new to being drenched in fake blood, pretending that there’s something gruesome happening around me, the only difference was that day it was my fake blood and the gruesome thing was happening to me.”

Christopher Lloyd reflects on ‘phenomenal’ Back to the Future legacy

OHMYGOSSIP — Christopher Lloyd feels “very fortunate” to have been a part of ‘Back to the Future’.
The 85-year-old actor starred opposite Michael J. Fox as Dr. Emmett ‘Doc’ Brown in the beloved sci-fi series, and has now looked back at its “phenomenal” legacy that continues to “fill the gap in a lot of lives of young people”.
He told Variety: “I’ve done my share of work, and nothing compares to the way ‘Back to the Future’ is ingrained in people’s minds.
“It’s phenomenal. Every day practically — and certainly I go to Comic-Cons — people come up and say, ‘You made my childhood.’ And another reference equal to that, where ‘Back to the Future’ fills the gap in a lot of lives of young people, who have gone on to become doctors, scientists and what have you.
“So, [I have] a lot of gratitude and I feel real good about that. I feel very fortunate to be part of that.”
The actor also reflected on his role as Uncle Fester in ‘The Addams Family’ and said he “loved” being able to depict a character he used to see in the New Yorker magazine’s cartoons when he was a child.
He explained: “It was mischief about Uncle Fester and not evil. He just could play around a little bit. And then, that period of my life passed and decades later, I get a call, would I like to be Uncle Fester in a film? What are the odds?
“It was very exciting to be able to play the character that I loved when I was a kid.”
Lloyd is also known by Trekkies for his portrayal as the evil Klingon Commander Kruge in the 1984 flick ‘Star Trek III: The Search for Spock’.
The ‘Nobody’ star recalled the first time he donned the prosthetics and make-up for director Leonard Nimoy.
He said: “I’d come to the Paramount Studio at four in the morning to get that makeup put on — the way it built up my forehead — and then the costume. How can you not feel like you’re the character when you do all that?
“I loved it. I tried to find what is it about this guy that I could relate to an audience whereby they will feel something about themselves in this guy — even if it’s somebody you don’t want at your dinner table, you know?
“It doesn’t change his undesirable traits, but I want the audience to feel they’re not engaged with somebody off a different planet. They’re engaged with somebody they can talk to.”

Susan Twist is returning to Doctor Who for new adventure with Ncuti Gatwa

OHMYGOSSIP — Susan Twist is returning to ‘Doctor Who’ for a new audio adventure with Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson.
The actress- who has featured recurrently in the latest series of the BBC sci-fi show – will be narrating a new audio adventure of the series which is being released this November.
Two audio tales are being released, entitled ‘On Ghost Beach’ and ‘Sting of the Sasquatch’ and will be read by Susan Twist and Genesis Lynea, respectively.
The synopsis for ‘On Ghost Beach’ reads: “The TARDIS arrives in County Durham, England, in 1958. Seaham Chemical Beach was once a scene of heavy industry, long since abandoned, but now local residents are having nightmares and seeing apparitions.
“It isn’t long before the Doctor and Ruby are affected by the beach’s peculiar atmosphere. As they begin to forget exactly who they are, Ruby hears a distant voice calling her on.
“Whose memories are filling the travellers’ heads, and what is the significance of Ghost Beach, in the Sea of Despair, on the planet Farfrom? Even more importantly – who is Reg?”
Meanwhile, ‘Sting of the Sasquatch’ is set in a national park in north-west America and is mainly focused around the Doctor and Ruby, played by Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson respectively.
The synopsis reads: “In a National Park in North-West America, the Doctor and Ruby are pursued by large, ape-like creatures who seem to literally disappear into the trees. When Ruby falls ill after apparently being stung, the Doctor believes the infection is extra-terrestrial in origin.
“They meet Dixie and Greg, two Bigfoot hunters determined to track down the mythical Sasquatch. Standing in their way is Ranger Peone, who’s adamant that the forest is too dangerous to explore. Dozens of people have vanished, or reappeared with no memory, in the last month alone.
“Then the ape creatures kidnap Ruby, and the Doctor is determined to both save her life and solve the mystery of the Sasquatch.”
Both audio adventures will be released on 07.11.24 but are available to pre-order now online.

Romesh Ranganathan’s new show is cheeky ‘homage’ to true crime

OHMYGOSSIP — Romesh Ranganathan’s new show ‘The Misinvestigations of Romesh Ranganathan’ will pay “homage” to true crime documentaries.
The comedian is launching a BBC show which will delve into the lives of some music legends – including Jimi Hendrix, Tupac Shakur and Nancy Spungen – and as a fan of the genre, he wants to pay his own tribute.
He told the BBC: “I’m a huge fan, but we wanted to do a, sort of, take off of the tropes of those types of shows. It’s an homage.”
The 46-year-old has no previous experience with criminal investigations but is determined to crack each case in this three-part series, alongside criminal psychologist, writer and podcaster Dr Julia Shaw and through speaking to experts, eyewitnesses, friends and journalists.
When asked why he chose these stars to explore, Romesh said: “They are all people who moved the cultural needle and also passed away in circumstances that are still being speculated about today – perhaps as a result of the manner in which they were idolised.
“I think that the media has had a huge part to play in the perception of these people, as well as their deaths. Nancy Spungen’s portrayal in the media was particularly distasteful.
“I believe that, regardless of whether you like the music of these individuals, you will definitely leave the shows with an understanding of how culturally important each of them were.”
He quipped: “If I ever die in mysterious circumstances, I’d love someone to investigate it on BBC Two.”
When speaking previously about the show, Romesh said he wanted a spin-off of his comedy series ‘The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan’, which was the inspiration behind the name.
He said: “We wanted a spin-off for ‘Misadventures’, and after we discussed Misinterpretations, Miscalculations and Misunderstandings, we finally settled on Misinvestigations.
“It’s been really interesting to look into these high-profile deaths and I am very excited for people to see the show. Unless of course people don’t like it, in which case I will release a statement explaining how I never really believed in the project.”
‘The Misinvestigations of Romesh Ranganathan’ is set to launch on BBC Two and iPlayer at 9pm on Sunday (25.08.24).

Taskmaster star Sam Campbell lands new Channel 4 comedy

OHMYGOSSIP — Sam Campbell has landed his own comedy series on Channel 4.
The ‘Taskmasker’ star has created six part scripted comedy ‘Make That Movie’ – which will be directed by Joe Pelling – for the broadcaster, which focuses on a hotshot filmmaker (Campbell) scouring the UK for everyday people with an idea for a feature film.
Sam and his team then race against the clock in a bid to turn the idea into a film in just three days.
In a statement, the comedian said: “It’s a bit like one of those shows where they fix up someone’s garden. But this is about something people genuinely care about – movie magic.
“Let’s be honest with ourselves, a garden has never grossed over a billion dollars at the box office…”
And Channel 4 is excited to work with Sam, as they heaped praise on his “unique and enormous comedy brain”.
Charlie Perkins, head of comedy, added: “Sam epitomises the colour, creativity and innovation that Channel 4 comedy stands for.
“He has an undeniable, completely unique and enormous comedy brain and is generous and tenacious in his artistry – the perfect figurehead for this new-era comedy gang-show.
“This is going to be fun.”
The cast will also feature Lara Ricote as runner Jess, Aaron Chen as intimacy coordinator Sebastian, Helen Bauer as sound engineer Pat, and David Hargreaves as cinematographer Winnie.
More casting and transmission details will be unveiled at a later date.

Before the launch, Lucy previously teased: “Sam has the most unusual brain I’ve ever come across. We have work to do. The country needs us.”
And Sam added: “Lucy is a fountain of wisdom BUT I would never throw a coin at her.”

Fred Sirieix insists I’m A Celebrity is the ‘ultimate’ reality show but he’s open to another

OHMYGOSSIP — Fred Sirieix thinks ‘I’m A Celebrity’ is the “ultimate” reality show but he’s still up for another “challenge”.
The 52-year-old ‘First Dates’ maitre d’ went to the jungle in Australia last year for the iconic ITV show, and while he sees it as the pinnacle of the genre, he won’t rule out other reality TV ventures in the future.
Asked if he’d do another reality show, he told OK! magazine: “‘I’m A Celeb’ is like the ultimate one, you’re put under extreme pressures – like eating animal anus – and sharing a champ with strangers.
“But my motto is, ‘never say never’. I like a challenge.”
Fred made waves in the jungle for several reasons, including his eye catching physique, which he worked hard to maintain during his stint Down Under.
He explained: “In the jungle, I had my routine of at least 20 minutes of exercise.
“There’s a doctor on site and at one point he said to ne, ‘Fred, you need to slow down. You’re not eating enough to be doing this and we’re concerned.’
“But I reassured him I was fine and when I had my medical after leaving the jungle, I had lost just over 5kg, which was less than they expected.
“That’s because I kept my strength up and my muscles active.”
Fred was recently away with ‘Road Trip’ co-star Gino D’Acampo to work on their new travel show ‘Emission Impossible;, which sees them “trying to be as green as [they] can be, to not pollute the planet”.
He admitted the project was “amazing” to work on, but their friendship after previously travelling the world with Gordon Ramsay meant it was a wild experience.
He said: “It is [amazing], but things can get a bit bonkers with us.
“We’ve known each other for a long time and know one another very well.
“We’re starting to finish one another’s sentences and when he wakes up in the morning, I can tell what mood he’s in. We’re a bit like a married couple.”

John Wick 5 won’t be filming in 2025

OHMYGOSSIP — Filming on the fifth ‘John Wick’ movie won’t begin next year.
Rumours that the next installment in the action franchise would enter production in 2025 have circulated online but sources have now told Collider that shooting for the flick will not commence next year.
The industry insiders added that although concrete plans for a sequel to ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ may eventually come to fruition, director Chad Stahelski is solely focused on his upcoming picture ‘Highlander’, which stars Henry Cavill and is due to start filming on location in Scotland early next year.
After the success of ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ – which brought in $440.1 million at the box office when it hit theatres in 2023 – Lionsgate chairman Joe Drake announced a fifth entry into the series was in development at the studio but there was no confirmation as to whether Keanu Reeves, 59, would be reprising his role as the titular assassin.
Even though the series’ main character seemingly perished at the end of the fourth flick, Stahelski revealed he was open to returning to the franchise if the story was right.
He told Screen Rant: “I’m massively in love with the characters and the world that we’ve built.
“Do I want to try other things? Yes, but to be brutally honest with you, if I was smart enough and good enough to come up with a way to continue the story, I would.
“It just felt right to end where Keanu and I both just in our hearts and our souls, felt it was good to do what we did.
“To end it and put a good cap on this and feel satisfied and not go out on it down, but go out on a high. It felt right to end the series like that.”
The director added he wasn’t opposed to working on another project in the series – which will see the spin-off movie ‘John Wick Presents: Ballerina’ released next year with Ana de Armas in the lead role.
The 55-year-old filmmaker explained: “I have no problem. I don’t think I’d ever be the guy, ‘Oh, no, I’ve already done that.’ I would love to try to do something new because everyone’s a challenge. I’m not trying to do an episodic feature thing where they’re all the same.
“So, to answer your question, yes. If something pops in and it works, yeah, I’d love to do it. If I could crack any of those stories that we mentioned, I’d love to.”

Zoe Kravitz is ‘keeping herself busy’ while she waits for The Batman: Part II script

OHMYGOSSIP — Zoe Kravitz is “keeping [herself] busy” while she waits for the script for ‘The Batman: Part II’.
The 35-year-old actress starred alongside Robert Pattinson as Catwoman in the 2022 DC superhero flick and is trying to take her mind off the sequel by working on other projects like ‘Blink Twice’ while director Matt Reeves pens the screenplay for the upcoming movie.
She told Collider: “Matt goes into his hole when he writes.
“Again, he’s a super intense, detail-oriented director, so I just keep myself busy with things like [‘Blink Twice’] until people call me.”
The ‘Big Little Lies’ star added there’s “a lot more to explore” with Catwoman and her alter-ego Selina Kyle in the sequel, which is slated for release in 2026.
She said: “The whole concept of Selina in that film was it’s an origin story, So obviously there’s a lot more to explore.
“It was a woman coming into her power and wanting to explore what it feels like when she can be playful and sit into that power. Hopefully, it will be very fun one day.”
Previously, Kravitz’s ‘The Batman’ co-star Andy Serkis revealed the follow-up film would likely begin shooting in 2025.
Speaking at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024, the actor – who played Bruce Wayne’s butler Alfred Pennyworth in the movie – said: “Well, there is a huge arc which you’ve got – nah, I’m not giving away anything.
“Basically, I know nothing about the movie other than that I’ve just found out that we’re probably likely to be starting filming early next year. Therefore, if you do that math, it’ll be a year and a half after that.”
‘The Lord of the Rings’ star added he knew the wait for the picture’s story would be worth it because the filmmaker would certainly deliver “another brilliant script”.
He said: “I know that Matt is working really hard on the script.
“Matt Reeves being Matt Reeves, the extraordinary filmmaker that he is, I can only assume that it’s going to be another brilliant script, because I thought what he did with that first film was pretty amazing.”

Gordon Ramsay ‘to lift the lid on his life in Netflix documentary’

OHMYGOSSIP — Gordon Ramsay is reportedly set to lift the lid on his life in a new Netflix documentary.
The 57-year-old TV chef is said to be following in the footsteps of David Beckham and Robbie Williams by teaming up with the streaming giant to film him behind-the-scenes as he prepares to launch a new restaurant in London next year.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Gordon isn’t exactly a shy and retiring type so this will be a no-holds-barred, warts ’n’ all series.
“You can expect more than the odd swear word, but essentially cameras will trail him in and out of the kitchen ahead of his latest restaurant launch early next year.
“His wife, Tana, and the kids are expected to make cameos. People will get to see a whole new side to Gordon.”
The documentary is believed to have been given the provisional title ‘Being Gordon’.
David Beckham previously appeared in a self-titled Netflix documentary alongside his wife Victoria which told the story of his rise to fame and his football career while pop star Robbie Williams also filmed a tell-all look at his life in pop music and his battles with mental health issues.
However, Gordon’s project will reportedly focus on his race to open the new restaurant to provide “high drama kitchen content”.
The insider added: “In the wake of the success of huge chef-based shows like Disney’s ‘The Bear’ and the BBC’s ‘Boiling Point’, Netflix realise there’s a real appetite for high stakes, high drama kitchen content right now.”
The newspaper reports an official announcement about the project is due next month.

Bill Skarsgard insists The Crow is ‘not a remake’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bill Skarsgard is adamant his new version of ‘The Crow’ is “not a remake”.
The ‘It’ actor has stepped into the role of Eric Draven – previously played by late actor Brandon Lee who was fatally shot on the set of the 1994 movie – for a new version directed by Rupert Sanders and co-starring singer FKA Twigs, but he has insisted the film is “very different” to the first.
Speaking at the premiere in New York on Tuesday (20.08,24), Bill told PEOPLE: “[It was] daunting … An iconic performance, a tragic thing that happened with Brandon. And for me, I approached this like I do any other job like, ‘What’s this story? How can I do this story justice?’ …
“We were not remaking that movie, and that was never the intention. I feel like that movie and his performance is iconic and shouldn’t be tampered with at all. So I’m glad that we tried to do something very different with it”
The new film is also based on the comic book series by James O’Barr and marks the first big screen adaptation since Lee’s version 30 years earlier.
The 1994 film was completed and released after Lee’s death.
Director Sanders recently told Vanity Fair magazine thoughts of the tragedy were never far away while they were making the movie.
He said: “[Lee’s] soul is very much alive in this film … [The] terrible tragedy … [was] definitely something that we’ve always had in mind through the making of the film …
“Brandon was an original voice and I think he will always be synonymous with ‘The Crow’, and I hope he’s proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve brought the story back again.”

Travis Kelce lands first film role in Loose Cannons

OHMYGOSSIP — Travis Kelce is reportedly set to star in new comedy ‘Loose Cannons’.
The NFL star – who is dating ‘Anti-Hero’ hitmaker Taylor Swift – is making the jump to Hollywood and may have landed his first big screen acting role.
As reported by Deadline, he is attached to star in Lionsgate’s upcoming action comedy.
The movie is currently in development, although it’s expected Kelce is some way off filming with the new NFL season set to get started in just a few weeks.
The script for the film has been penned by ‘Pixels’ writer Timothy Dowling, while John Wick’s Chad Stahelski is set to produce via 87Eleven Entertainment, alongside Alex Young and Jason Spitz.
The movie follows the idea that every police precinct in the film’s universe has a crazy, rule-breaking officer on the team.
Instead of pairing them with someone more by the books, the film will see two loose cannons forced together in the wake of a precinct merger with no one else wanting to work with them.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will have “tones” of buddy action comedy classics like ‘Bad Boys’, ‘Lethal Weapon’ and ‘Rush Hour’.
Kelce also will appear alongside Niecy Nash-Betts, Lesley Manville and Courtney B. Vance in Ryan Murphy’s upcoming horror drama ‘Grostesquerie’, which is set to debut on FX in September and focuses on a small community rocked by a series of heinous crimes.
He has also signed onto host Amazon Prime Video series ‘Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?’, and served as executive producer on new dark comedy ‘My Dead Friend Zoe’.
In 2020, he appeared in one episode of Showtime’s ‘Moonbase 8’, and last year he hosted an episode of ‘Saturday NIght Live’.

Lucinda added: “Having undergone my own radical journey to find love, I deeply empathise with our brave cast of singles.
“I’m passionate about the importance of truth and authenticity in building strong relationships.
“My goal is to guide our divine daters in making meaningful connections by encouraging them to share openly and honestly with one another, especially as they face the Honesty Box in Truetopia.”
Channel 4 have described the show as an “innovative new take on a dating show”.
Steven Handley, head of reality and entertainment, commented: “We all love the drama of reality dating shows, but we can be left wondering if the couples really like each other or if they are just performing for the cameras.
“So, I’m thrilled to commission ‘The Honesty Box’, Mettlemouse’s innovative new take on a dating show that will test what our singles actually think of each other, and just how brutally honest we are all prepared to be to find everlasting love.”
