Glen Powell’s The Running Man remake to start filming later this year

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘The Running Man’ is set to begin filming this November.
The upcoming dystopian thriller – which stars Glen Powell and is a remake of the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger movie of the same name – will enter production later this year after it was officially greenlit by Paramount Pictures, according to TheWrap.
The film will be a new take on Stephen King’s 1982 novel from director Edgar Wright and will follow a falsely convicted police officer (Powell) who is forced to participate in the TV game show ‘The Running Man’, which sees convicts have to run to freedom to avoid a brutal death.
Previously, the 35-year-old actor had revealed he was “doing a lot of sprinting” to prepare for the flick.
He told Screen Rant: “I have been doing a lot of sprinting. That’s all I can say. I’ve been working on my sprint.
“No, I’ll say that Edgar Wright has been one of my favourite filmmakers for as long as I can remember. I think since ‘Shaun of the Dead’, I was like, ‘I can’t wait to work with this guy.’ And he just keeps churning out brilliant things that only his brain could concoct.
“‘The Running Man’ is something he’s so passionate about, and we’re really taking the Stephen King book and just adding a lot of fun Edgar Wright flavour to it, and it has been awesome. That’s going to be a really fun one; I’m super excited about it.”
The ‘Twisters’ star had also explained he would be juggling work on the movie with trying to finish his degree in Spanish and early American history at the University of Texas at Austin, which he plans to complete over Zoom.
Speaking to IndieWire, he said: “I’m not going to be sitting in a class with other students on the regular.
“I’m basically going to be coming back because I have to finish up, but I’m going to be shooting ‘The Running Man’ in the fall. So I’m going to be in London, but I am going to be going back for proctored exams.
“So, they’re letting me figure it out [with] distance learning. And I’m obviously going to be coming in, Zooming in for classes and whatnot, but I have to be back for the proctored exams.
“So, we’re figuring that out for two or three times a semester, I’ll come back for all my stuff. Edgar has been very nice about letting me finish my degree in the middle of his massive movie.”

Francis Ford Coppola deliberately cast ‘cancelled’ actors in Megalopolis

OHMYGOSSIP — Francis Ford Coppola cast “cancelled” stars in ‘Megalopolis’ because he didn’t want the movie to be considered “some woke Hollywood production”.
The upcoming sci-fi drama includes controversial actors Shia LaBeouf – who was accused of sexual assault in 2021 – and far-right Donald Trump supporter Jon Voight, though the 85-year-old director has revealed he purposely brought on the stars to avoid the picture being written off as a “woke” film that’s “lecturing viewers”.
He explained to Rolling Stone magazine: “What I didn’t want to happen is that we’re deemed some woke Hollywood production that’s simply lecturing viewers.
“There were people who are archconservatives and others who are extremely politically progressive. But we were all working on one film together. That was interesting, I thought.”
‘The Godfather’ filmmaker praised LaBeouf for his work on the flick, though admitted the actor had “deliberately” tried to create tension between himself and the director.
He said: “Shia really took to it. I had no experience working with him prior to this, but he deliberately sets up a tension between himself and the director to an extreme degree.
“He reminds me of Dennis Hopper, who would do something similar, and then you’d say, ‘Just go do anything,’ and then they go off and do something brilliant.”
Looking beyond the picture – which stars Adam Driver as an architect who wants to build a utopian city after a cataclysmic disaster leaves a New York-like metropolis in ruins – the director revealed he was not planning to retire after the movie hits theatres on 27 September.
When asked if ‘Megalopolis’ – which he personally financed – was going to be his final film, he said: “No, I’m working on two potential projects right now.
“One is a regular sort of movie that I’d like someone to finance and make in England, because I don’t have a big history with my wife in England. Everywhere else I go, I’m reminded of her all the time.
“The other is called ‘Distant Vision’, which is the story of three generations of an Italian American family like mine, but fictionalised, during which the phenomenon of television was invented. I would finance it with whatever ‘Megalopolis’ does. I’ll want to do another roll of the dice with that one.”

Alesha Dixon joins a whole host of other celebs calling on TUI to stop dolphin cruelty

OHMYGOSSIP — Alesha Dixon is one of many TV stars to have called out TUI Group on dolphin cruelty.
The ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ judge has called on the travel giant to stop making a profit from dolphin entertainment and, along with Bella Ramsey, Gail Porter, and Dame Joanna Lumley, has signed an open letter on behalf of World Animal Protection.
She said: “TUI you are the last major tour operator in the UK selling tickets to dolphin entertainment. Dolphins are not entertainers they are sentient wild animals. Enough is enough. Join the other tour operators and stop profiting from this cruelty.”
The former Mis-Teeq singer was joined by ‘Dragon’s Den’ star Deborah Meaden, who simply “can’t believe” that something like this is going on at this point in time.
She said: “I really can’t believe in this day and age we still have to point out the cruelty. Do the right thing TUI and do as your competitors have done and stop selling tickets to these cruel and exploitative attractions”
Evanna Lynch – who is best known for starring as Luna Lovegood in the ‘Harry Potter’ films but is also Global Ambassador for the animal rights organisation – also got in on the action, as she
She said: “, “It is truly shameful that TUI is still choosing to take part in such an obviously cruel and outdated practice as captive dolphin ‘entertainment’. TUI it’s time to do the right thing and stop putting profit over animal welfare.”
The campaign comes after easyJet holidays announced that they would not sell tickets to any captive wildlife attractions including captive cetacean venues, and Jet2 promised they would stop selling captive dolphin venues, while Virgin Holidays, Expedia Group, Booking.com and Airbnb have all long since committed to never selling tickets for these cruel and exploitative attractions .
Tricia Croasdell, World Animal Protection, CEO said, “The longer that influential companies like TUI Group continue promoting and selling tickets to captive dolphin entertainment, the worse the problem becomes. Selling tickets to such venues means more whales and dolphins are being bred into environments where they will never be able to thrive or carry out their natural behaviours. TUI has said that they know it is controversial and that more of their customers would rather see wild animals in the wild, so why are they stalling on this? The only reason can be profit and it is inexcusable for a multi-million-pound company to put profit before compassion.
“We need to make this the last generation of dolphins in captivity, and we need companies like TUI Group to stop propping up the industry before that can happen.”

Celebrity Big Brother’s Marisha Wallace conned out of THOUSANDS: ‘I don’t know how I survived…’

OHMYGOSSIP — Marisha Wallace was conned out of £60,000 by a man she was dating.
The 38-year-old actress had just moved to London from the US to star in the West End musical ‘Dreamgirls’ and met a man on a dating app who promised to help her invest her savings but realised after a while that it had all gone wrong and has no idea how she “survived” any of the ordeal.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘This Morning’, she said: “I meet this guy, and we go on a date and everything is great. He was very supportive of me during this time, and he was like a friend.
“He told me he was in finance and at the time, I’d been saving money for a really long time because I wanted to buy my mom a house.
“And so, instead of leaving that money just sitting in my account, I wanted to invest it and make money off the money that I had saved.
“And he was like ‘I’ll help you’, he sent me to an account manager, I had many calls with him and did my due diligence. He worked for a reputable company, or so I thought, so I put the first amount in which was like £24,000, that was my savings.
“It was all very professional, there was a website, I could see the money that was there, the interest that it was accruing. I’d get cash back and I thought it was great.
“I’m a very trusting person, I did my research online, and the person was sitting in front of me. It’s not like online like it is today. So I invest money, and we get it up to £60,000.
“I was on the set of ‘Aladdin’, the first film I’d ever done, and I was in my trailer. I texted him on a whim, and no one responded. I called, but no one responded. “The runner came to get me out of my trailer and I was in tears, I was crying.
“I knew instantly at that moment that it was wrong. I did the shoot, I did a show that night. I don’t know how I survived any of it.
“You can’t tell anyone, you have so much shame.”
The former ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ contestant then became a “complete detective” and found out that everything about the investment scheme was fake, and there was nothing that could be done legally despite her having all the evidence.
She said: “So I finally got back in contact with the guy who was supposedly my friend, and he said it was all fine so I said ‘I want my money out. Now.’ and he said he’d put me back in contact with the other guy.
“I just had to play it cool for a couple of days, so I could cipher him for more information. I knew [the money] was gone but I had to pretend like it was all okay. I went complete detective, and I was online all night long. I finally called the company he was with. He wasn’t real, the account manager was his brother. I had all of the information, and they said there was nothing they could do.”

Mike Flanagan hopes The Exorcist remake will be ‘the scariest movie of all time’

OHMYGOSSIP — Mike Flanagan hopes his remake of ‘The Exorcist’ will be “the scariest movie of all time”.
The 46-year-old director – who is helming the film that will retell the story of the 1973 horror classic – is planning to pay tribute to the original by creating a movie that will shock and terrify modern audiences the same way the first picture did.
Speaking on a panel during FanExpo Canada, he said: “The original ‘Exorcist’ is a formative film for me. I’ve only once in my career felt this feeling of stepping into the shadow of a monolith. I’m already nauseous every day about ‘The Exorcist’.
“When it came out, it was the scariest movie of all time at that time.
“Modern audiences don’t necessarily connect with the film the same way, so my mission for this is to try to make it the scariest movie of the time. If I can do that, then I hope it will connect with people.”
The ‘Doctor Sleep’ director had previously promised he would be leading a “radical new take” on the iconic horror flick, which is slated to hit cinemas in 2026.
He said in a statement: “‘The Exorcist’ is one of the reasons I became a filmmaker, and it is an honour to have the chance to try something fresh, bold, and terrifying within its universe.”
Flanagan is taking over the franchise from David Gordon Green after ‘The Exorcist: Believer’ underperformed at the box office and disappointed fans and critics, leading to the filmmaker’s planned trilogy being scrapped.
Famed horror director John Carpenter – who had worked with Green on the ‘Halloween’ reboot trilogy – admitted he didn’t understand how the filmmaker could “screw up” ‘Believer’.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, he said: “I like what David did when he made the three ‘Halloweens’. I loved number two [‘Halloween Kills’]. [I] thought that was fabulous.
“I heard ‘The Exorcist’ really didn’t cut it. That could be a kick-a** movie. I don’t understand how you can screw that up.”

Jake Quickenden defends wife for seeming ‘disappointed’ over sex of new baby

OHMYGOSSIP — Jake Quickenden has defended his wife for seeming “disappointed” when she found out she was expecting another boy.
The 35-year-old reality star already has Leo, three, with Sophie – who is also mother to 10-year-old Freddie from a previous relationship – but in a viral Instagram gender reveal for her latest pregnancy, she immediately asked “Where are all the girls at?” and Jake has now insisted that it was all just “really fun” despite backlash from followers.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine, he told stand-in host Ranvir Singh: “It was really strange because I watched the video and thought it was really fun. She was laughing throughout. I am a boy dad, I grew up with two brothers so I’m so used to having boys so for me it was either or.
“But I think Sophie having two boys already, she might have set her mind on maybe having a girl. She might have been a little bit like ‘Oh I wish…’ because she’s never had that. She wrote on her Instagram that it wasn’t about going shopping or anything. But it was more about being there for the birth of her baby and picking a wedding dress for her.
“That’s what she’s envisioned.
“People are always gonna have an opinion. Sophie and myself are never not grateful. I cannot wait to be a dad again to another beautiful little boy, as long as he’s healthy and everything goes all right with Soph.
“People are bound to have an opinion just because she seemed a little disappointed that it wasn’t a girl.”
The ‘Celebrity Masterchef’ contestant also claimed it was quite “brave” of Sophie to share how she might be feeling upon learning that she is to have another boy but insisted that just seconds after the news had settled in, she was feeling brighter about the whole situation.
He said: “I thought it was quite brave of Soph to admit that maybe she did feel a certain way. And that’s really brave. People are always gonna have opinions,You can’t get away from that. That’s fine, people are entitled to opinions. If you put yourself out there and you’re on TV or Instgaram, people are gonna have opinions. I think a lot of women, maybe if they’ve got two boys or two girls, and the third one might be the same sex, they might be a little ‘Oh, I wanted a boy that time…’ But after that initial 10 seconds of her ‘Where are all the girls at?’ she said it was going to be amazing.”

Incredibles 3 details teased by Pixar chief Pete Docter

OHMYGOSSIP — Pixar chief Pete Docter has revealed that director Brad Bird is hard at work on ‘Incredibles 3’.
The upcoming animated flick was announced recently at Disney’s D23 showcase and the studio boss explained how the filmmaker is in the process of crafting the picture featuring the family of superheroes.
He told Fandango: “Brad [Bird] is an amazing collaborator. He’s so fiery and passionate. Different people work in different ways.
“He’s a guy who needs a little more time to build up the steam to get the passion and the power going. I think we’re at that point now. And we’re not sharing any details right now, because it’s still pretty malleable in terms of what the story is actually about.”
Docter also praised the filmmaker for incorporating “deeper sociological ideas” into his animated movies.
He said: “The great thing about Brad’s films, when you look at ‘Ratatouille’, on one level, it’s a fun romp about a rat that wants to cook.
“But, really when you dig deeper, it’s about, ‘What does it take to do that?’ The passion versus opportunity. He’s always got these deeper sociological ideas and so I think that’s where we’re starting from.”
‘Incredibles 3’ will follow on from the events of its 2018 predecessor, which itself picked up immediately after the first movie – despite the 14-year gap between the two entries.
Previously, Bird said he thought it was “bold” to have ignored the passing of time between the movies.
Speaking to SciFiNow magazine, he said: “I had half thought about ageing them up a little bit but the minute you do you lose a lot of the iconic power of the idea.
“Because we’re not limited to linear ageing the way live-action films are, where if an actor is 10 years older, you better write a line in there where they talk about being 10 years older or the audience isn’t going to go for it. We’re not limited in that way.
“As long as your voice hasn’t changed much we can pick up where the last movie left off.
“For me, the boldest thing that a movie that’s taken 14 years to happen can do is pick up right where the last movie left off. Who else can do that? No one, so we did it.”

Strictly’s Kai Widdrington ‘left without celebrity partner’

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Kai Widdrington has reportedly been left without a celebrity partner for the new series.
The hit BBC talent show is heading back to TV in the autumn and a new report suggests Kai – who has been with the show since 2021 – will be sidelined this year due to the high number of male stars in the line-up.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Kai has become the first casualty of this year’s male-heavy line-up. With so few female celebrities it was inevitable that some of the professionals would miss out on a pairing, but it’s a real blow that Kai is one of them.
He had a great run last series … and is a fan favourite. … [But] bosses have to look at a number of factors when choosing which dancer to pair with which celebrity.
“They look at everything from height through to chemistry tests to see who will work best together and it’s meant Kai has missed out.”
However, will remain a part of the show and take part in the group performances.
The insider added: “He will be part of the group dances alongside other males who haven’t been selected this year.”
BBC bosses added in a statement: “The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ celebrity contestant and professional dancer pairings will be announced, as usual, in the launch show airing in the autumn and on the official Strictly channels.”
While the pairings have yet to be officially announced by the BBC, the new season’s contestants have already been confirmed with TV presenter Nick Knowles and former footballer Paul Merson in the line-up.
The other competitors include Olympic swimmer Tom Dean, ‘Gladiators’ star Montell Douglas, hockey player-turned-TV star Sam Quek and ‘EastEnders’ actor Jamie Borthwick.
This season will also feature the show’s second ‘Love Island’ contestant with Tasha Ghouri following in the footsteps of Zara McDermott, who joined ‘Strictly’ last year.

Bad Bunny ‘cast in crime thriller Caught Stealing’

OHMYGOSSIP — Bad Bunny has reportedly been cast in ‘Caught Stealing’.
The Grammy Award winning musician – who has also explored the world of acting with roles in the likes of ‘Bullet Train, ‘Narcos: Mexico’ and ‘Cassandro’ – is said to have signed up for Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming crime thriller.
According to Deadline, Bunny will join Austin Butler in the Sony Pictures movie, although his role is currently unknown.
According to the film’s logline, it follows Butler as “burned-out former baseball player” Hank Thompson, who finds himself “unwittingly plunged into a wild fight for survival in the downtown criminal underworld of ‘90s NYC”.
The flick is based on Charlie Huston’s book of the same name, while the author will also write the script.
The cast will also feature Zoe Kravitz, Regina King, Liev Schreiber, Matt Smith and Will Brill.
Aronofsky recently told Deadline: “I am excited to be teaming up with my old friends at Sony Pictures to bring Charlie’s adrenaline-soaked roller coaster ride to life.
“I can’t wait to start working with Austin and my family of New York City (NYC) filmmakers.”
Sanford Panitch, President of Sony Pictures’ Motion Picture Group, said: “Darren is one of the most brilliant audiovisual storytellers in the world, and adapting these wonderful books by Charlie Huston for Austin to star was too exciting an opportunity to not be a part of.”
Butler recently appeared in the blockbuster ‘Dune: Part Two’ as the antagonist Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen but he has explained that he didn’t go as deeply into the part as he did when he starred in the title role in the ‘Elvis’ biopic.
He previously told the Los Angeles Times newspaper: “I’ve definitely in the past, with ‘Elvis’, explored living within that world for three years and that being the only thing that I think about day and night.
“With Feyd, I knew that that would be unhealthy for my family and friends.”
He continued: “So I made a conscious decision to have a boundary. It allowed for more freedom between action and cut because I knew I was going to protect everybody else outside of the context of what we were doing.”

‘The Bear’ actor is playing The Boss in new biopic ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ – about the making of the rock icon’s 1982 album ‘Nebraska’ – and he’s working hard to get his singing voice in shape so he can tackle some of the musician’s songs in the new film.
Jeremy, 33, told GQ magazine: “I’m really lucky that there’s sort of a team of folks now in place to help young actors portray rock stars. I’ve got a really talented group of people helping me train vocally, musically, to get ready for this thing.”
The actor has also been spending hours watching YouTube videos of Springsteen’s performances and interviews in a bid to nail the portrayal.
He said: “There’s just so much footage. It’s really great to go down a YouTube rabbit hole and find him at all these different periods in his life and be able to listen to his speaking voice as well as his singing voice.
“That’s kind of been the deal, just listening to him a lot and watching him a lot. It’s been really fun preparing.”
Jeremy went on to add that Springsteen is backing the film and they have been in touch. He explained: “[Springsteen is] really supportive of the project. I’ve had some access to him and he’s just the greatest guy.”
Jeremy previously revealed they’ve been in touch but they haven’t actually met yet.
Speaking at the premiere of season three of ‘The Bear’ on Tuesday (25.06.24), Jeremy said: “We’ve communicated a little bit through some other people, but I hope this still all comes together.
“We’ve still got a few things, we’ve got some timing stuff to work out, and I’m trying to have a bit of my own process with it before meeting the man, too.” The ‘Iron Claw’ star added: “I wanna try to have an understanding, so when I meet him, I’ll have a bit of confidence somewhere in me to stand there.”
‘Deliver Me From Nowhere’ is being directed for 20th Century Studios by Scott Cooper from Warren Zarnes’ 2023 book of the same name that delves into the making of ‘Nebraska’.
The record was Springsteen’s sixth studio album and one of his most acclaimed works. The songs focused on blue-collar narratives and featured the musician performing all the instrumentals alone.
It was ranked at 150 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time in 2020.

The ‘Line of Duty’ star added that “there was a huge sense of responsbility” in bringing one of Peter James’ characters to life in his own way.

Jacob Rees Mogg snubbed Celebrity Bake Off for very simple reason

OHMYGOSSIP — Jacob Rees-Mogg rejected an offer to appear on ‘Celebrity Bake Off’.
The former Conservative MP – who lost his seat in last month’s General Election – is looking at his life after politics, but he turned down the chance to appear on Channel 4’s annual baking spin-off show in support of Stand Up To Cancer.
He told ‘The Political Party’ podcast: “I can’t cook, so it would have been rather tricky.
“I’d have had to have got Nanny to do the baking for me.”
Despite being useless in the kitchen, the 55-year-old politician has revealed the dietary secret to his slim figure.
He said: “Always have roast beef and Yorkshire pudding for Sunday lunch – that is the key for a stable life.”
Jacob won’t be joining judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith in the ‘Bake Off’ tent, but he has landed his own reality show on Discover+ in the UK and Ireland.
‘Meet the Rees-Moggs’ will follow the former MP and his family across five hour-long episodes.

The logline reads: “With exclusive access, this fly-on-the-wall documentary series will be a never-before-seen look into his life at home in the 17th century Somerset house where he lives with his wife and six children.”
Jacob added: “Animals, children, an election and a film crew. What could possibly go wrong?
“This everyday story of Somerset folk is fun to film but may be a bit more ‘Fawlty Towers’ than ‘Downton Abbey.’ ”
Despite having half a dozen children, Jacob previously admitted he has never changed a nappy in his life.
He said: “The nanny does it brilliantly. I’ve made no pretence to be a modern man at all, ever.”

Speaking about the podcast, Maisie said: “Winona’s always been iconic, but I hope this series gives people a chance to understand her as a person – how she’s always led with empathy, navigated so many hard moments, and pushed female voices to the front.”
Meanwhile, BBC bosses have promised the series will “tap into” the public’s keen interest in the lives of the rich and famous.

“Now I feel a lot more comfortable in my own skin. It’s hard to even put myself back there and talk about how tough it was because I think it’s done.”
All six episodes of ‘Famously… Winona’ are available now on BBC Sounds.

Christine McGuinness ‘relieved’ to be gone from Celebrity MasterChef

OHMYGOSSIP — Christine McGuinness is “relieved” to have been eliminated from ‘Celebrity MasterChef’.
The model and TV star, 35, was sent packing after she was up against Tamer Hassan, Jamie MacDonald, Jake Quickenden and Emma Thynn, and she is gone from the BBC show after failing to impress judges Gregg Wallace and John Torode.
The star – who was diagnosed with autism in 2021 – revealed that she has sensory issues with food but is was working on stepping out of her comfort zone, and she’s glad to no longer be learning new skills “in front of the nation”.
Speaking after her exit, she said: “I’m really, really proud of myself that I even went into a kitchen I wasn’t familiar with, that I tried to make food I’ve never made before
“But I was well out of my comfort zone, that was too much of a stretch for me.
“I’m happy I’ve done it, but I’m relieved I don’t have to keep practising in front of the nation.”
In the first task of the episode, Christine was challenged to create a meal using white sausage and crafted a breakfast dish featuring tomatoes, bacon, and eggs.
For the second challenge, inspired by her children’s favourite meal of chicken nuggets and chips, the model prepared a dish accompanied by a tiramisu for dessert.
However, the meal didn’t impress John and Gregg, as the dipping sauce fell short, and the tiramisu raised eyebrows due to its lack of alcohol.
Christine previously confessed that a “typical date” poses many “sensory” issues, like talking to strangers and eating in unknown venues.
She was quoted by the Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: “It’s sensory for me. A typical date, from what my friends would say, is you go for dinner, or you might have some drinks.
“I don’t drink and I don’t really enjoy eating in different places with people that I don’t know. Once I’m comfortable with someone, that’s lovely. But I don’t know how I am supposed to get to that point.”

Chris Pine starring in first Italian-speaking role for The Kidnapping of Arabella

OHMYGOSSIP — Chris Pine will star in his first Italian-speaking role in ‘The Kidnapping of Arabella’.
The 44-year-old actor signed on to the drama/tragedy which is being written and directed by Italian filmmaker Carolina Cavalli and will act as a sequel to her 2022 picture ‘Amanda’.
The movie – which is being produced by Elsinore Film and Fremantle’s The Apartment – follows Holly (played by Bendetta Porcaroli) who is convinced she is the wrong version of herself until she meets a seven-year-old girl who makes the young woman change her mind.
Cavalli had previously said she was excited to explore the idea of “lonely people” coming together in the film, which is set to enter production this week in northern Italy between Veneto and Emilia Romagna.
She told Variety: “I think lonely people who come together to solve a problem have already solved the biggest one, and this is what makes me happy about this story.”
Pine is best known for his role as Captain Kirk in the rebooted ‘Star Trek’ trilogy – which ran from the 2009 eponymous flick to ‘Star Trek: Beyond’ seven years later – but is in the dark about the possibility of another film.
The ‘Wonder Woman’ actor had previously cast doubt as to whether a fourth movie in the saga would go ahead and admitted he was surprised to learn that ‘The Flight Attendant’ creator Steve Yockey had been hired to write the script earlier this year, as he thought that a screenplay was already in existence.
When Business Insider asked Pine whether the fourth ‘Star Trek’ blockbuster was going ahead, he replied: “I honestly don’t know.
“There was something in the news of a new writer coming on board. I thought there was already a script, but I guess I was wrong, or they decided to pivot. As it’s always been with ‘Trek’, I just wait and see.”
Even so, Pine emphasised he was willing to reunite with his co-stars – which include Simon Pegg and Zoe Saldana – and was “curious” as to what the story of the flick would be.
Speaking to PopVerse, he said: “We all like one another a lot. I’m good friends with everybody I’ve worked with. We have a great time doing it.
“I’m a lot older now, so I would be curious where that next story lands us in terms of what it would be and what we’ve said in the press.”
