Briony Williams leaves Great British Bake Off

OHMYGOSSIP — Ruby Bhogal, Rahul Mandal and Kim-Joy will battle it out in the ‘Great British Bake Off’ final.
The 29-year-old project manager was the first to make it through in Tuesday (23.10.18) night’s semi final after being crowned Star Baker for her performance in patisserie week, while Briony Williams failed to make the grade and was sent home by a tearful Sandi Toksvig.
But Briony insisted she didn’t feel “sad” to have missed out on a place in the final
She said: “Being a Semi Finalist was the most incredible feeling ever.
“I was really proud that I got as far as I did, I didn’t think I would make it through the first episode let alone to the ninth. I felt really honoured, literally over the moon. I had a little cry after the Showstopper but it was more of a release of emotion.
“I really did leave with a big smile on my face.
“After it was all over, I messaged my family and told them what had happened, and signed off Briony Williams, GBBO Semi Finalist 2018! I never felt sad that I didn’t make it to the final, I was just so happy, and pleased Ruby got Star Baker.”
Paul Hollywood, who judges alongside Prue Leith, thinks this year’s final could be the “best” ever because the standard has been set so high.
He said: “It’s going to be a fantastic final next week.
“We have got three great bakers and each one of them has this very artistic flair.
“If they bring their A-game, that is going to be the best final ever – I promise you.”
There’s a twist in store for the final as for the first time ever, the contestants will leave the famous tent to do their technical challenge away from their usual kitchen equipment.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “You won’t need ovens or hobs for this challenge.
“It should be simple, but not everything goes to plan.”

Anthony Quinlan denies he was struck by the ‘Strictly curse’

OHMYGOSSIP — Anthony Quinlan insists his relationship hasn’t ended because of the “‘Strictly’ curse”.
The ‘Emmerdale’ actor recently split from professional dancer Dianne Buswell – who is partnered by Joe Sugg on this year’s series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – but he dismissed suggestions closeness between the competing couple was a problem, claiming it was simply “distance” that drove them apart.
And Anthony is still “really good friends” with Dianne and hopes she and Joe go on to win the competition.
Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “We’re still really good friends – it’s just distance played a part.
“There were all these rumours about the ‘Strictly’ curse but it wasn’t that.
“I’m actually rooting for Joe and Dianne. They’re doing absolutely amazing in strictly and I still think the world of the girl.
“We were really close, it just wasn’t meant to be.”
The split confirmation came following reports the pair had ended things a few weeks ago.
A ‘Strictly’ source previously said: “Everyone on set’s been discussing how close [Dianne and Joe had] become. It did not go unnoticed by Anthony.
“They are quite a fiery pair and have been clashing a bit more than often lately.
“A couple of weeks ago they just decided enough was enough and ended things.”
Despite the 29-year-old dancer’s break up with the Dales star – who plays Pete Barton on the ITV soap – Dianne is said to be having “a lot of fun” on the programme.
The source said: “He’s up north and she’s down south and things just weren’t working anymore so they’ve knocked it on the head despite being quite serious.
“She’s having a lot of fun with the show at the moment and is enjoying spending time with her dance partner Joe.”

Dean Gaffney: EastEnders cast fear axe from Kate Oates

OHMYGOSSIP — Dean Gaffney and all the ‘EastEnders’ cast are afraid of getting axed by new boss Kate Oates.
The 40-year-old actress has played Albert Square lovable loser Robbie Jackson on and off since 1993, making his latest full-time comeback in April 2017.
Kate has joined the BBC One soap after running ‘Coronation Street’ as the series producer for two years and introducing some of the darkest storylines in the ITV programme’s history, including Pat Phelan’s murder rampage and kidnapping plot and the harrowing rape of David Platt.
Although her appointment comes with excitement, Dean admits everyone is on edge about potentially getting cut by Kate as she will want to make her mark.
Speaking at the Inside Soap Awards to the Daily Star newspaper, he said: “I think everyone’s a little worried. You wouldn’t be human if you were not worried when your contract comes up for renewal. It’s squeaky bum time for every actor as no one is bigger than the show. The Queen Vic and Albert Square, they are the show.”
Kate has had a meeting with the entire cast and has urged everyone to pull together to get ‘EastEnders’ back to the top of its game.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Dean spilled: “We’ve had a cast meeting with Kate, which has been nice. Everything she said was all good stuff. She was saying how ‘EastEnders’ is a big show and we need to carry on moving forward, she had fighting talk, it was great to hear. I think if you’ve run three of the biggest shows in soap history – the accolades speak for themselves. She’s 38 to do that at her age is incredible. John Yorke’s been great but we’re all excited to have a commander in chief.”
As well as her acclaimed with on ‘Corrie’, Kate has also worked as a producer on BBC Radio 4 soap opera ‘The Archers’ and as a story editor and series producer of ‘Emmerdale’.
She joined the BBC in October, taking charge of ‘EastEnders’, ‘Holby City’ and ‘Casualty’.

Duchess Meghan’s dress sells out

OHMYGOSSIP — A colourful dress worn by the Duchess of Sussex in Fiji on Wednesday (24.10.18) has sold out online.
The 37-year-old royal – who is expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry next spring – donned a silk Figue Frederica floral printed ruffle frock, which retails for $1,495, on an official visit to the University of the South Pacific campus in Suva and within hours of the tour images being shared online, the gown was no longer abailable to buy.
Meghan teamed the pom pom-adored dress with a $7,300 Shaun Leane serpent bracelet and her favourite Castañer Carina espadrille wedges that she previously wore on Bondi Beach last Friday (19.10.18) to mark the Suva university’s 50th anniversary.
This isn’t the first time the former ‘Suits’ actress – who was known as Meghan Markle before getting married in May – has had websites crashing with fans eager to get their hands on the coveted pieces she’s been pictured in, which has now been dubbed ‘The Meghan effect’.
Earlier this month, the duchess opted for a silk olive shirt by the Swedish brand when she and Harry visited Sussex on their first official visit to the county that features in their royal titles.
Meghan has attracted plenty of attention for her simple-but-chic looks on the tour of her 16-day tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji and even wore a piece from her pal Serena Williams’ fashion line.
On the second day of her royal tour when she went to Dubbo, Meghan wore a grey blazer from the tennis icon’s collection.
The royal opted to wear a double-button style blazer with patch pockets and a red-and-blue windowpane pattern.
Serena, 37, was thrilled that her friend sported her blazer – which has now sold out – and took to Instagram to reveal her joy, sharing a picture of the duke and duchess holding hands and smiling.
She wrote: “The face you make when you and Duchess of Sussex Meghan have matching @serena blazers.” (sic)

Julia Roberts’ birthday surprise nearly ruined

OHMYGOSSIP — Julia Roberts nearly had her birthday surprise ruined.
The ‘Pretty Woman’ star’s husband Daniel Moder organised a weekend away for her 50th birthday – and surprised her with a visit from her children – but the plan nearly went wrong when they drove past the kids, who were waiting outside the store.
She said: “We stopped at a red light near the store, and [the kids] were on the sidewalk. He actually reached over, and he goes, ‘Look at the name of this street!’ I wish I could remember the name, because it was something so pedantic. He goes, ‘Gee, look at that.’ I was like, ‘Yeah…’ He kind of had a good grip on me. I was like, ‘He’s so sweet …This is so strange.’ Because they were like right there outside the car! I’m very gullible. I don’t know if you’ve noticed. I pretty much believe everything people tell me!”
And Julia adored the surprise that Phinnaeus, 13, Hazel, 13, and Henry, 11, organised for her.
She added to E! News: “A few hours into my birthday, I kind of thought, ‘Huh…How funny. I’m not going to see the kids on my birthday. That feels strange. But we were still having a great time. We had a new adventure ahead of us … We go into the back of the shop and I’m in the bathroom. Now, all along the drive, I’m getting texts from friends about the soccer games that are going on, because it was a Saturday. I come out of the bathroom and Danny’s holding this surfboard.
“He goes, ‘What do you think about this board, babe?’ I go, ‘It’s gorgeous.’ He goes, ‘Yeah? Do you think? The color?’ And then he just moves it and all the kids were hiding behind it. And I was so shocked!”

Vanessa Lachey felt ‘traumatised’ after son’s RSV diagnosis

OHMYGOSSIP — Vanessa Lachey felt “traumatised” after her son was diagnosed with Respiratory Syncytial Virus.
The 37-year-old television personality admits it was a “traumatic experience” when her and Nick Lachey’s son was hospitalised for nearly a week whilst battling the respiratory virus.
She wrote on Instagram: “When I gave birth to my youngest, Phoenix, at 30 weeks, I knew he would need extra care. But I wasn’t aware that he was at an increased risk for a common respiratory virus called #RSV due to his under-developed lungs and immature immune system. So when he was hospitalized for six days for severe RSV disease, I was shocked and terrified. I wish I had known more about RSV before this traumatic experience (sic)”
Meanwhile, Nick and Vanessa previously opened up about their marriage and says it hasn’t been a “walk in the park” but they’re committed to working through their issues.
Nick said: “I think if people make it to seven years of marriage, that’s long these days! Any marriage is challenging — it’s certainly not a walk in the park, but we’re very committed to each other and to working through those challenges and I’m very confident there’s nothing we can’t get past. I don’t know if there’s any truth in the seven-year itch. We’ve always found a way to keep it interesting. We’ve been together 12 years, have a beautiful family and are very blessed, and there’s just never a dull moment around this house.”

Chrissy Teigen’s son loves compliments

OHMYGOSSIP — Chrissy Teigen’s son “loves being told” that he’s handsome.
The ‘Sports Illustrated’ model has revealed that her youngest child Miles, five months, “really lights up” when someone tells him he’s good looking and is “so reserved”, just like his father John Legend.
She told E! News: “He loves being told he’s handsome. He really lights up … He loves the quiet moments. He loves story time, but Luna was just such a bull. From the moment she came out, you just knew she was going to be such a Luna – just a nutcase. He’s not really into anything. He loves sleeping and milk. Miles is so reserved – he’s just John. He’s just a cuddly, lovable little ball.”
Meanwhile, Chrissy – who also has Luna, two – recently revealed John is an “aggressive cuddler”.
She said: “We sleep naked, but you probably knew that. [But] maybe this is what will surprise you. He’s [a] very crazy, aggressive cuddler. Like, wants to hold very hard and I’m the one that’s like, I get very hot. I get very hot. So I’m crawling to the other side of the bed …
“People see John as this perfect entity and all I want to do is be like, ‘Yeah, but he does this!’ But he really is that fantastic, and amazing, and amazing for me because I’m a fireball. Like, I’m crazy and he knows how to deal with me when we fight. And he knows just the right thing to say to diffuse it. And I think that is the problem, it’s that it’s so frustrating because sometimes you just want to fight and sometimes you just want to yell at somebody and he’s never that person.”

Celine Dion proud of her sons

OHMYGOSSIP — Celine Dion is “proud” of her sons every day.
The ‘My Heart Will Go On’ hitmaker paid tribute to her “sweet boys” Nelson and Eddy as they turned eight-years-old.
She wrote on Instagram: “My sweet boys, you are turning 8 today and you make me proud every day. I love you with all my heart and wish you a very happy birthday! – Mom xx (sic)”
Meanwhile, Celine previously revealed hat she sleeps in the same bed as her twin sons to stop herself feeling “lonely” following the death of her husband René Angélil.
She explained: “I organise myself to not feel lonely. So I got myself a huge, huge, huge bed and I sleep with my twins. They are comforting me a lot. I need them. I need them close. And when it’s time for them to say they want their room, their room’s
ready. But we watch a lot of TV together. I’m discovering Disney.
“They’re really well because I’m strong. I’m sounding pretentious but if I don’t show them the way, they will question it. Papa is not coming back but Papa is in your heart. We kiss him every night. We have a little ritual where we say goodnight to him with a little picture. Then the kids talk to him. And they write words, put them in balloons and we send the balloons to the sky.”

Lucy Boynton opens up on Rami Malek’s Bohemian Rhapsody transormation

OHMYGOSSIP — Lucy Boynton says Rami Malek was “a stranger” on the set of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’.
The 24-year-old actress plays Freddie Mercury’s longtime friend and former fiancee Mary Austin in the biopic, and she admitted her co-star’s transformation into the Queen frontman was remarkable.
Speaking about the feeling Freddie was actually stood there with them, she told HeyUGuys: “Yeah, totally, until you see Rami Malek in the makeup trailer at the end of the day without everything and it’s like there’s a stranger on our set.
“And then you come to work and it’s Freddie, and it’s like, well, that’s a person I know.”
Bonyton stunned in a pink gown as she was joined by fellow actors Malek, Ben Hardy and Gwilym Lee – and Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor – at the film’s premiere on Tuesday (23.10.18) at London’s Wembley Arena.
The ‘Murder on the Orient Express’ star – who has been romantically linked to Malek since April – admitted there was a feeling that his performance was “something very special”.
She added: “I think we could all see it on set. What you see in the film is what we saw on set, he just completely disappeared and was totally Freddie.
“It was incredible, it was amazing to have that energy. But yeah, you were very much aware that something very special is happening.”
The movie wasn’t without its difficulties, and just three months into shooting director Bryan Singer was replaced by Dexter Fletcher who completed the film.
Asked about how it impacted the feeling on set, Boynton explained: “Rami set the tone and energy on set everyday. Because that was constant without the entire shoot, that was a really powerful constant to have.”

Pixar’s co-founder Ed Catmull announces his retirement

OHMYGOSSIP — Pixar co-founder Ed Catmull has announced his retirement.
The 73-year-old president of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios – who pioneered animated movies with the likes of ‘Toy Story’ and ‘The Incredibles’ – has confirmed his plans to bring an end to an illustrious career.
As explained by the Hollywood Reporter, it means 2019 will be the first year that none of the company’s original co-founders will work for Pixar – although he still plans to remain an adviser for a while to ease the transition until a successor has been announced.
He said in a statement: “I have the mixed emotions that come with stepping away from a group of people I love, but also with the utmost pride and pleasure that we now have at both Pixar and Disney Animation the most dedicated and imaginative leaders I have worked with.”
The studio he helped create is currently looking ahead to ‘Toy Story 4’, and Tim Allen – who voices Buzz Lightyear in the franchise – recently revealed the film will have a very emotional ending.
Asked whether he’s been working hard on the movie, Tim previously explained: “Yes, I gotta resist getting emotional. I don’t want to give it away, but this is an incredibly great story.
“It is so emotional, it’s so funny, it’s so big, the idea they’ve come up with, I’m startled. I couldn’t even get through the last scene. I would love to be a Washington leaker.”
Despite this, Tim tried his best to not reveal too many of the film’s secrets.
He added: “I just can’t do it. I can’t give any more away. They’ve got great characters but a couple of scenes toward the end were really hard to get through.”

Noel Gallagher: Liam doesn’t need Oasis money

OHMYGOSSIP — Noel Gallagher can’t understand why his brother Liam wants to reform Oasis because he “must be loaded”.
The 51-year-old rocker was stunned to see so many of his fans dressed from head to toe in garments from his younger sibling’s clothing label Pretty Green and thinks the popularity of the brand means the former Beady Eye frontman must be financially secure.
He said: “Kids with their dads, all of them dressed in Pretty Green, I was saying to my mam, ‘F***ing hell, why does he want to get Oasis back together, he must be loaded.’ Every **** in a parka, every f***er in a parka, the middle of the summer, hat on, four pairs of sunglasses.”
While Noel has been vocal about his desire not to get back with Oasis – who split due to tensions between the Gallagher brothers in 2009 – their songs still play an important part of his solo setlists.
He quipped: “It’s easy, you just do ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Don’t Look Back in Anger’ then work backwards from that, that’s worth 50 quid of anybody’s money, right? That’s a fact. You’ve only got to justify the other £75 then.”
The ‘Holy Mountain’ singer also admitted he’s not afraid to rework his own old material for new songs.
Speaking at the launch of his book ‘Any Road Will Get Us There (If We Don’t Know Where We’re Going)’ at Kings Place in London, on Tuesday (23.10.18), he said: “There’s only so many times you can write a song about the rain and use the word shine and I’ve got away with it shedloads. I’ll never stop trying to… I’ve used the chord for ‘Wonderwall’ six times now and it’s not f***ing drying up yet.”

Olivia Newton-John sewn into outfit

OHMYGOSSIP — Olivia Newton-John was sewn into her famous ‘Grease’ outfit.
The 70-year-old actress has revealed she had to be stitched into her tight trousers for the 1970s musical and then unstitched out of them every lunch time.
She shared: “I limited myself to a few sips of water and no food, and joked that I was getting dehydrated and #2, might pass out … At lunch, they actually had to unstitch me to eat and then re-stitch me after a bathroom trip.”
However, Olivia says it was ultimately “worth it” and she felt “empowered”.
Writing in her memoir, ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, she added: “It felt empowering as pure adrenaline and the idea of claiming my own sexiness rushed through my body. All the men on the crew began to do double and triple takes as they turned around to stare at me with jaws that headed south. I think a sandwich or two hit the floor.”
Meanwhile, Olivia previously admitted it is “a bit late now” for a ‘Grease’ reunion.
She said: “I think it’s a bit late now. What would you do? Put us in a nursing home? I can’t imagine that working now but you never know what someone could come up with. If there was a great idea then, of course, we would consider it, or at least I would. If John was up for it then I think I would be too but we couldn’t do it without each other. Let’s see what the future brings.”
And Olivia likened her time on set to being at a “normal school”.
She added: “In all honesty, it was like being at a normal school because I didn’t go to one like that. At my school, there was a uniform, the boys and the girls we kept separate and the environment was very different. In so many ways it was an experience I’d never had before. The film’s producer, Allan Carr, kind of created a party atmosphere with us all and encouraged us to hang out together. He’d come by every day and give us a pep talk and keep the energy up.”

Duchess of Sussex rushed from market amid ‘crowd management fears’

OHMYGOSSIP — The Duchess of Sussex has been rushed out of a busy market in Fiji amid fears over “crowd management issues”.
The 37-year-old royal – who recently announced she’s expecting her first child with the Duke of Sussex – made a visit to the venue on Wednesday (10.24.18) in order to learn more about a UN Women project called Markets for Change, but after just eight minutes, her security team decided to rush the Duchess out of the crowded area.
Initially, the Palace claimed that the decision was taken because of “uncomfortable conditions” – but later, it was conceded that “crowd management issues” was the reason behind the abrupt exit.
Despite this, the Duchess – who was known as Meghan Markle prior to her marriage in May – still managed to meet the four women she’d originally intended to.
Meanwhile, in her first speech on the royals’ ongoing tour, the Duchess stressed the value of education and also spoke of her own struggle to afford to attend university.
The former ‘Suits’ actress – who attended Northwestern University in the US – said that the “journey of higher education is an incredible, impactful and pivotal one”.
She continued: “I am also fully aware of the challenges of being able to afford this level of schooling for many people around the world – myself included.
“It was through scholarships, financial aid programmes and work-study – where my earnings from a job on campus went directly towards my tuition – that I was able to attend university. And, without question, it was worth every effort.
“Everyone should be afforded the opportunity to receive the education they want, but more importantly the education they have the right to receive. And for women and girls in developing countries, this is vital.”

Mollie Winnard waitressing after Corrie exit

OHMYGOSSIP — Mollie Winnard is working as a waitress after her ‘Coronation Street’ stint came to an end.
The 21-year-old actress played villainous Kayla Clifton on the ITV soap until her exit in July, but she is still struggling to find her next big role.
Despite winning the prize for Best Bad Girl at the Inside Soap Awards this week, she told The Sun newspaper’s TV Bizarre column: “For the time being I’ve gone back to my day job.
“I waitress as a second job. I’ve gone from being a real waitress to a pretend waitress back to being a real one.”
Mollie’s character wasn’t killed off, and the soap star – who is “waiting to hear back” on a couple of auditions – would “love to go back” to the cobbles.
She added: “I loved playing Kayla and I think there’s more I could explore with her.
“So I’d love to go back. There are no plans of yet.”
Although Kayla only appeared on the show for a relatively brief period of time as she terrorised Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) as revenge for her rapist father Nathan Curtis (Christopher Harper).
In her final scenes, she let Bethany go after finding out her dad was guilty, and accepting the truth about he’d done.
Opening up on the recognition she has received for such a tough storyline, she told the Metro: “I was only there for three months and all the voting for it started when all those scenes had finished on screen so the fact I had made that much of an impact to win I am gobsmacked.”

Hilary Duff desperate to give birth

OHMYGOSSIP — Hilary Duff is desperate to give birth.
The ‘Younger’ star – who is expecting a baby girl with her boyfriend Matthew Koma – is ready to welcome her daughter into the world.
Writing on Instagram, she shared: “Yo … your hotel stay is up little girl.”
Hilary previously took to the social media site to revealed she is trying to induce labour by eating salad.
Posting a picture of the salad – which was purchased from Caioti Pizza – on her Instagram Story, Hilary wrote: “This salad is supposed to make you go into labor…@caioti_pizza don’t let me down. (sic)”
The blonde beauty is “over” being pregnant now and can’t wait for her little one to arrive.
She said: “Honestly, I feel really good and I am a little over it at this point where I am like, ‘Cool, I’m ready, when is it happening?’ But it is awesome to have another kid to focus on because you’re not constantly focusing on every little ache and pain you feel or anything that happens. I am not on Google right away like I was the first time around. I know what is going on.”
And whilst Hilary is in a rush to have her baby, she definitely isn’t in “any rush” to marry Matthew.
A source said: “They already feel married and don’t feel they need a signed document to seal the deal. They eventually do want to get married and have a ceremony but for now, are focused on their baby girl coming. Everyone gets along great and it has been a smooth transition. Luca has been overly excited since day one of this pregnancy and is starting to understand more of what is about to come. He is very anxious for his baby sister to come and is always talking about her. Hilary is so excited to welcome a girl into the family and knows how great of a dad Matthew going to be. He already calls the baby his ‘little princess’ and Hilary has fallen in love with him even more during this process.”

Casey Batchelor defends posting weight loss journey

OHMYGOSSIP — Casey Batchelor believes she is spreading positivity by sharing her post-pregnancy weight loss journey on Instagram.
The 34-year-old television personality – who gave birth to her first child Florence with Dane Goodson earlier this year – has been sharing untouched photos of her body after childbirth and documenting her attempts to regain her hour glass figure.
Casey wants her posts to offer support to new mothers as it’s a “daunting task being a new mum” and she her posts are a way of letting other people know that “everybody struggles”.
Speaking on ‘The Jeremy Vine Show’, she said: “Before social media, when there was no social media to share a lot of women did suffer from postnatal depression and it’s difficult being a mum it really is. There’s no one to ask are you OK, or are you suffering to? And social media gives a great platform – obviously if you use it in the right way – to let other people know that yeah everybody struggles, you’re not alone because it is a daunting task being a mum.”
Although Casey thinks social media is a good way of spreading your message, she still believes you have to be careful as some people use Instagram to portray “the perfect life” and their profile isn’t a reflection of who they are.
She added: “With social media, you do have a lot of smoke and mirrors and people like to post the perfect life which isn’t great. I just feel like I use the platform for good rather than showing off in a way really.”
However, Casey is cautious about what images she shares of her baby because she’s aware there are trolls who want to try and hurt you with your own posts.
She explained: “There’s a limit to what you can share, I [wouldn’t] share a picture of Florence in the bath but sharing something to help others and just the reality of things I think it’s nice to share.”
