X Factor vote cancelled

OHMYGOSSIP — The ‘X Factor’ public vote has been cancelled on Saturday night (03.11.18) due to a technical issue.
Fans tuning into the ITV show were shocked to see the show plagued with sound problems, with viewers saying the sound issues turned the contestants and judges – Simon Cowell, Ayda Field, Robbie Williams and Louis Tomlinson – into “daleks”.
A message on the screen, where the contestants’ voting numbers would usually be displayed, read: “Due to a technical issue, tonight’s show has been cancelled. It will open in tomorrow night’s show.”
The sound issues began soon after Danny Tetley took to the stage to sing Queen’s ‘Who Wants to Live Forever’ and continued through his critique from the judges and into Anthony Russell’s performance of ‘Demons’ by Imagine Dragons. A message popped up on screen apologising for the “temporary” sound issues but fans took to Twitter to criticise the show.
One wrote: “How can people vote on this with sound interference? … Come on #ITV sort it out (sic)”
Whilst another added: “Fix the sound quality for us watching please…it’s unfair on the contestants when people are voting for their favourites when we can’t hear properly (sic)”
A third shared: “All acts should not be able to sing untill sound is fixed THIS IS NOT FAIR ON THEM.! Sort it out X factor.”
However, some saw the lighter side of it and joked about the “dalek” sounding voices.
They wrote: “Well I was disappointed when I heard that the Daleks weren’t going to be on #DoctorWho this series, so thanks to @ITV and @TheXFactor for making everyone sound like a Dalek. So sweet of you. #XFactor xx (sic)”
When the show returned after the advert break, the sound had been fixed and Misunderstood performed Halloween hit ‘Thriller’, complete with an energetic dance break.
The public vote will now open during Sunday night’s (04.11.18) show.

Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev’s perfect foxtrot

OHMYGOSSIP — Ashley Roberts and Pasha Kovalev foxtroted their way to the top of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ leaderboard on Saturday night (03.11.18).
The Pussycat Dolls star wowed with a stunning dance to ‘Orange Coloured Sky’ by Natalie Cole, earning them an impressive spot at the top of the leaderboard with one mark off a perfect 40.
Head judge Shirley Ballas called it an “exquisite, classic Foxtrot” whilst Craig Revel Horwood was impressed that it was a “proper Foxtrot” with no tricks or gimmicks.
But Faye Tozer and Giovanni Pernice were hot on their heels with a stunning Tango to ‘Call Me’ by Blondie, and Darcey Bussell loved the “intensity, passion and precision”.
Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton had Couples’ Choice this week, a mix of Street and Commercial to Alicia Keys’ ‘Empire State of Mind’. Fighting back from a rib injury, Stacey wowed the judges with Bruno Tonioli praised the television host for acting and dancing it like a pro.
Danny John-Jules and Amy Dowden found themselves at the bottom of the leaderboard with their Quickstep to ‘Freedom’ by Pharrell Williams. Whilst their performance went perfect in rehearsal, there were many mistakes on the dancefloor. The judges praised Danny’s ability as a showman to cover the mistakes up but couldn’t do anything but score him low. Bruno pointed out how he started on the wrong foot and carried that through for most of the dance. However, Darcey tried to put a positive spin on proceedings, praising the “light and effortlessness” in the bits that went well.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ returns on Sunday evening (04.11.18).

Bella Hadid feeling happier and healthier

OHMYGOSSIP — Bella Hadid is feeling “happier and healthier than ever”.
The 22-year-old model couldn’t help but share her excitement as she started her fittings for the Victoria’s Secret show and shared how “grateful” she was to be invited to model again.
She wrote on Instagram: “@victoriassecret fittings today … i can’t wait for you to see all of the beautiful outfits … i’m so grateful to be a part of the show again, feeling happier and healthier than ever (all body types are different and react differently with a great workout routine and a healthy diet) (sic)”
Meanwhile, Bella previously admitted he feels “sexier” in sneakers than high-heeled shoes.
She shared: “I’m definitely a sneakerhead, and I love matching sneakers with dresses and gowns. Even after the Versace show, I asked them if I could wear the dress that I wore in the show and they let me borrow the new sneakers that they have too.
“When I was 15 years old, my stepdad [David Foster] got his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and that was the first time I remember wearing sneakers to a huge event. I had this beautiful gown with my black run-down Converse. I even cut my own leather laces, and I think that’s when my love for tennis shoes really started. I feel sexier in a pair of tennis shoes than I do in heels.”
Bella is a “very spiritual” person and sets aside time to pause and reflect at least twice a day.
She explained: “I think mantras are really good, and I think that’s something that I really need to start doing more. I’ve written mine down and I’m a very spiritual person. In the morning I always take time with myself and have my crystals, and at night I listen to my meditation music just to prepare for the next day. With my schedule, I need to take more time to do that and to be more positive about myself.”

Frankie Grande in a relationship with a married couple

OHMYGOSSIP — Frankie Grande is in a relationship with a married couple.
The 35-year-old dancer has revealed he has been dating couple Mike Pophis and Daniel Sinasohn for the last three months.
He told Us Weekly magazine: “These are my boyfriends. [We’ve been dating for] almost three months, but in the gay world, it’s like five years.”
Meanwhile, Frankie previously revealed he came out to his sister when she was 11-years-old.
When asked if it ‘no tears left to cry’ is a gay anthem, he said: “It is! She’s always been so supportive of the LGBTQ community, and her songs have always said that. In the new single, she says, ‘They point out the colours in you, I see ’em too, and boy, I like ’em.’ That’s her celebrating every kind of love you can imagine. Every colour of the rainbow. Plus, she’s got a rainbow across her face on the cover of the single. Ariana is anything but subtle. She and I support the community with every chance we get. I basically raised her. Ariana and I are 10 years apart and she grew up with a really gay brother who just loves her unconditionally, and it’s reciprocated. When I came out to her, she was 11 years old and I was like, ‘I have to tell you something.’ She was like, ‘What?’ I said, ‘I’m gay’. And she was like, ‘OK, cool. Do you have a boyfriend? Great, do I get to meet him?’ It didn’t faze her at all. So very early on, Ariana embraced us. For her entire life, she has known that being gay is just part of the everyday gig. And she knows that, in a way, it makes us more special and more beautiful.”

Claire Foy’s reading preparation

OHMYGOSSIP — Claire Foy “read and reread” the ‘Millennium’ saga to prepare for her role in ‘The Girl In The Spider’s Web’.
The 34-year-old actress has taken over the role of Lisbeth Salander from Rooney Mara in the upcoming movie and though she was a fan of both the US actress and Swedish star Noomi Rapace’s performances of the character, she wanted to put her own spin on her portrayal of the hacker so turned to Stieg Larsson’s original novels for guidance.
She said: “I saw the films years ago as a regular fan. But, once you put yourself inside a character, you have to ignore earlier interpretations and create your own version.
“I found my own way into Lisbeth. It wasn’t so much trying to do something different from how she was portrayed before, but simply building the character and making her my own.
“I read and reread the books to make sure I didn’t do anything that was fake or contradicted how Lisbeth was originally described and I tried to stick to that as the basis for my approach.”
Claire found her dramatic change of image for the role to be “liberating” and she loved undergoing a transformation every day.
She told Psychologies magazine: “It was liberating. I didn’t have to worry about being attractive or being liked or any of that nonsense that women often have to wake up thinking every day, how does the world see me?
“It was nice just to be like this. I got an undercut, which is something I never thought I would have. It was great!
“Then all her tattoos and just how she moves and the clothes she wears. I’ve always enjoyed wearing leather jackets and trousers, that kind of look.
“I loved being her every day actually. What you see is what you get. I quite enjoyed that.”

Nicole Kidman moves office out of home

OHMYGOSSIP — Nicole Kidman found moving her office out of her home was the “best thing” she’s ever done.
The 51-year-old actress – who has grown-up children Isabella and Connor with ex-husband Tom Cruise and 10-year-old Sunday and seven-year-old Faith with spouse Keith Urban – and the country singer are keen to have boundaries between their work and home lives and she feels much better for not letting her career intrude on their personal time.
She said: “Keith and I are pretty strict with the boundaries on what we allow, in terms of work, into our home.
“I just got the office out of my house and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.
“We don’t even have a TV in our bedroom, we’re that couple. And no computers in the bed.”
Nicole is very proud of the way she and her friend Reese Witherspoon developed and produced their show ‘Big Little Lies’ and admitted it was “incredibly empowering” to create their own career opportunities.
She said: “There’s not enough good roles and we wanted to create our own roles.
“So we developed it ourselves, we sold it and we produced it and out of it came this huge success.
“That was incredibly empowering. It was so nice to be in control of our destiny.”
Season two of the show sees a new addition to the cast in Meryl Streep, and Nicole and her co-stars found the screen legend very professional and not at all a “diva”.
She told Britain’s Grazia magazine: “She’s one of the girls but also a complete professional. There’s nothing diva about Meryl, she’s there, she’s a worker, she’s completely on time and she’s a joy to work with. And we play adversaries in it.”
Though she’s getting older, the ‘Aquaman’ star is busier than ever with her work and she’s proud to have experienced such a “resurgence”.
She said: “It used to be that when you turned 50, as a woman, it was pretty much your career could not flourish, so to suddenly have this resurgence in my career – so many choices and so many opportunities -is a fantastic thing.”

The 45-year-old actress and the 30-year-old actor were seen sharing a passionate smooch at a Los Angeles karaoke bar on Friday (02.11.18) night, before heading back to a hotel together in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A source told The Sun on Sunday: “No one would expect someone like Jack to bag one of Hollywood’s hottest actresses. You couldn’t get a more unlikely romance.
“They were like a pair of loved-up teenagers and weren’t trying to hide their feelings.
“They were practically sitting on top of each other in the booth of the nightclub and were laughing with each other.
“Then he decided to put his hand around the back of Kate’s neck and pulled her across him, where they started to passionately kiss.

Olly Murs won’t use dating apps

OHMYGOSSIP — Olly Murs thinks dating apps are “judgemental”.
The 34-year-old singer – who dated property manager Francesca Thomas for three years until 2015 – is currently single but is keen to meet someone “organically” as he doesn’t want to make judgements simply based on people’s looks.
He told Britain’s OK! magazine: “I’m single and enjoying life, but I have been going on dates.
“I have tried a celebrity dating app but I found it really shallow and judgmental swiping for people, saying yes or no.
“That’s not the kind of person I am so I didn’t really enjoy it.
“I’d rather meet someone organically.
“But I think the one might have got stuck on a bus that hasn’t stopped yet!”
Olly recently admitted he is worried he’ll miss out on having a child because his career makes it so difficult to date.
He said: “I’d be scared to miss out on fatherhood and being a parent and having a family – I’d hate to miss out on that.
“If I can meet the right person it would be an incredible thing to do.
I’d like to think I’d be an incredible father and husband.
“The only reason why I don’t go out on dates is because I am too worried about the paps and I don’t like being pictured out drinking and partying.
“That’s not fair why can’t I go on a date with a girl? I feel I’ve got to be under pressure every time I go on a date – it’s frustrating. ”
The ‘That Girl’ hitmaker says he “just wants to meet a nice girl” but is concerned that some of his romantic interests may be put off is they see him going out with other women.
He said: “I just want to meet a nice girl, go for a drink and not be worried about the after effects.
“Three or four days later I might go on a date with someone else – because I am dating to see what’s happening.
“Then it’s a confusing situation. The girl I have already planned to see goes ‘You were on a date last week’ but that’s what you do when you are dating! You are trying to figure out who is who, it’s impossible.”

Matthew McConaughey’s Titanic audition

OHMYGOSSIP — Matthew McConaughey auditioned for ‘Titanic’.
The 48-year-old actor admitted he was desperate for the lead role of Jack Dawson in the movie, which eventually went to Leonardo DiCaprio, and was devastated when he never heard back from producers after his audition.
Speaking on The Hollywood Reporter’s ‘Awards Chatter’ podcast, Matthew said: “I went and auditioned for that. I wanted that. I auditioned with Kate Winslet. Had a good audition. Walked away from there pretty confident that I had it. I didn’t get it. I never got offered that.”
And Matthew also insisted he doesn’t regret his years as a romantic-comedy leading man, revealing he loved going to work at the time.
He said: “It was fun, it was great pay and I learned that, you know what, these are not the type of movies to dig deep [within one’s own experience]. They were ‘Saturday characters.’ I remember saying, ‘I’m gonna give myself another Saturday!’
“They were fun. The pay was great. I was looking forward to them. I enjoyed going to work. I was also living on a beach and going out without my shirt on, just like I did before I was famous. I was living a romantic-comedy.”
And, although they were fun movies to make, Matthew worked just as hard on the romcoms as he does now on more serious movies.
He said: “I had just as many scribbles and dibbles and options and things written on my scripts and pages tagged and feathered and bent then, in those rom-coms, as I do now. It’s just a different kind of work and a different place to dig in.”

Paul Hollywood’s ex opens up about marriage split

OHMYGOSSIP — Paul Hollywood’s former wife has opened up about their marriage split.
Exactly one year after the 52-year-old ‘Great British Bake Off’ judge and his wife of almost 20 years, Alexandra, ended their marriage, she has taken to Instagram to assure her friends and fans that she is happier than ever.
On Saturday (03.11.18), she posted a picture of herself and wrote: “A year ago today, my marriage ended.
“There have been stories and speculation about the reasons why and to say it’s been a rough ride is somewhat of an understatement. But 12 months on I’m still here, I’m still standing and even though this has to have been the toughest time of my life so far, I still have much to be thankful for. So I just want to say to anyone else setting out on this daunting journey – it takes courage to face the unknown, stay strong, you can do this and you’re not alone. You’ll find new friends and value your old ones all the more, you will realise how very loved and important you are to your Tribe and how, no matter how hard it gets, you’ll always have choices.. so make sure you make the best choice for YOU.
“I plan to live my new life boldly, be creative, cook like mad, hug the ones I love, grab opportunities with both hands and enjoy being me. PS and I’ll be keeping control of the TV remote from now on too.”
Paul and Alexandra announced their break-up in a joint split last year and insisted their “focus” would be on their teenage son Josh.
Paul and Alex said: “It is with sadness that we have decided to separate. Our focus continues to be the happiness of our son, and we would ask the press and public to allow us privacy as a family during this very difficult time.”
Paul and Alex had previously split back in 2013 when he admitted to having an affair with Marcela Valladolid, his co-star on the US version of ‘The Great British Bake Off’. Describing the affair at the time, he said it was the “biggest mistake of his life” but the pair did reconcile.
Speaking in 2015, Paul said: “We went through a very difficult time but we’re on top right now … There was no let-up but now I feel we’re in a very good place. I think this is the happiest we’ve ever been. Our love of food is the key to it all.
“We love going out and have done that a lot this year. We’re away for Valentine’s Day. That was my idea. I can be a romantic. The way to every woman’s heart is through her stomach. Food is at the core of everything.”
Whilst Alexandra added: “You’ve just got to get on with life, haven’t you? I’m an eternal optimist, he’s an optimist. We’re having a good time. The most romantic thing he did was bake chocolate croissants on a Sunday morning. That was a lovely thing to do.”

Stormzy blames teacher for dashed uni dreams

OHMYGOSSIP — Stormzy claims “the teacher that kicked him out of college” was the “deciding” factor in him not being able to attend Cambridge University.
The 25-year-old grime star – who topped the charts with his debut album ‘Gang Signs & Prayer’ last year – revealed on Saturday’s episode of ‘The Jonathon Ross Show’ (03.11.18) that he never got the chance to attend the prestigious university because he was “kicked out” of his college for putting “loads of chairs” on another student.
Speaking on the ITV show, Stormzy said: “I wouldn’t say I decided not to. Life. And the teacher who kicked me out of college also probably decided as well.
“That was always the path that I was supposed to go on… I got kicked out [of school], not for anything crazy. It’s going to sound way crazier than it was, I put loads of chairs on another student. It sounds mad but we were messing around, it was horse play and I just put loads of chairs on the student so he was trapped.
“Enough to entrap the whole human body. It was a spontaneous attack actually. It was just some banter, as you do … It sounds crazy but it was just jokes. It was like the hundredth strike, you don’t get kicked out for putting chairs on someone. I was just a little sh*t, I’ll admit it now.”
The ‘Blinded By Your Grace’ hitmaker has launched his own publishing imprint #MerkyBooks to tackle lack of diversity in higher education, and confessed he started the project because he feels it should be “documented”.
A collaboration with Penguin Random House, the new project has started with ‘Rise Up’ which tells his own ascent to the top, and will be used to give black authors a platform.
Stormzy added: “With #MerkyBooks and the publishing imprint, I want to tell stories that I feel like not only the country but the world needs to hear. It almost sounds a bit humanitarian, world peace kind of speech but I feel like my story and my whole team’s story, I feel like that is something that should be documented.
“It’s a very short story so far, in terms of we’ve got a hell of a long way to go but I feel like the story of a young, black south Londoner like myself coming through and assembling this incredible team of so many incredible people and having the success so far, I think that’s important, I think it should be documented.
“It’s in partnership with Cambridge University and every year we will send at least two young black students to Cambridge and we will pay for their tuition.”

Jessica Alba: I want my kids to understand hard work

OHMYGOSSIP — Jessica Alba wants her children to understand that “work is important”.
The 37-year-old actress has daughters Honor, 10, and Haven, seven, as well as son Hayes, 10 months, with her husband Cash Warren, and has said that although her children sometimes “complain” when their parents have to go to work, she wants them to realise that their jobs help pay for the life their family lives.
She said: “If my kids complain when Cash and I go to work, I say, ‘Do you like your life? Because it’s not free. Your dad and I work hard so you can have everything you have. That’s why you take care of your stuff. And guess what? If you don’t work hard, your life won’t always be like this. You’ve got to figure out what you want to do. Go to school, do well, treat others well.’
“I’m hardcore about that.”
And the ‘Fantastic Four’ star wants to make sure her brood – especially eldest child Honor – see the hard work she puts in to her acting career, as well as her entrepreneurship ventures.
She added: “I can’t be at every school drop-off and pickup, but I’m showing her my time is valuable and that she has value to me. I also want her to see that my work is important and that I’m trying my best to make a difference, and maybe she’ll absorb it.”
Jessica recently made her return to acting with a role in ‘Bad Boys’ spin-off ‘LA’s Finest’ after “semi-retiring” 10 years ago, and says she’s pleased by how “different” Hollywood seems to be treating women thanks to movements like #MeToo.
Speaking to Parents magazine, she said: “I’m getting back to acting because it’s my first love and part of my identity. Hollywood is different now from when I semi-retired 10 years ago. There’s a new awareness of how important it is for women to be paid well and represented in front of and behind the camera.
“The #MeToo movement, for all the heartache and trauma it has churned up, enlightened people. For ‘LA’s Finest’, I didn’t even think about what a man would be paid. I said, ‘This is what I’m worth.’ Gab[rielle Union] and I know our value, and we’re lucky to be comfortable enough that we could have walked away if we’d had to.”

He said: “I’m very fortunate. I found something as a kid that I really enjoyed, then was lucky enough to turn that into a career.
“Also, it’s a career where I’m constantly getting to learn new things, to run toward new things. That’s what I love about pretending to be new people.
“You learn new passions that you didn’t have, and you learn about history that you don’t know. And then you strive to create an environment for other people around you to do the same.”
The ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ star also opened up about how he wants his films to make his fans “feel” a certain way.
He said: “You know when you see things and it doesn’t make you feel anything? I want to avoid that, if possible.
“Both in terms of when I’m doing the work and when people are reacting to it. I want to avoid nonchalance.”
