Scarlett Moffatt has overcome her anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Scarlett Moffatt has overcome her anxiety.
The former ‘Gogglebox’ star has been open about how she has struggled to deal with cruel body-shaming trolls in the past, but she has now made sure to focus on the positives in her life.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “If I’ve learnt anything, and if I can encourage others, I’d say try to focus and love the people that are loving you, rather than hate the people hating you.
“Otherwise you get into this cycle of negative thoughts. You have to try and blank it out. I always think, ‘I wouldn’t say that to people’.
“So then you have to think, what frame of mind are these people in? If anything, I just want to hug them all. They need a hug and you can’t please everyone.”
The 28-year-old star explained she has turned to self-help books including ‘The Alchemist’, ‘F**k Anxiety’ and the works of Matt Haig in her battle against anxiety, and talking to her mum Betty has helped.
She added: “I think it was the volume of [abuse] that was overwhelming at first. But also with that you get lots of positive comments. So you just have to take the rough with the smooth.”
Scarlett – who won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2016 – is now in the jungle ready to host spin-off show ‘Extra Camp’.
While things will be different this time round as Ant McPartlin has stepped away from co-hosting duties to focus on his recovery following a drink-driving conviction earlier this year, Scarlett has backed Holly Willoughby to do a fine job alongside Dec Donnelly.
She said: “I think we’re all going to miss Ant. That’s obvious, we all love him. But Holly is so professional and amazing at what she does.
“Like she says, she’s keeping the seat warm. I couldn’t think of anyone better and obviously Ant will be back next year.”

Charles Venn suffers health anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Charles Venn suffers from health anxiety.
The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ star has opened up about experiencing the feeling, in which someone spends an unusual amount of time worrying that they’re ill, and the phobia has left him thinking he is “going to die” at times.
He said: “It sounds ludicrous, but when you have health anxiety you honestly fear the worst.
“Fortunately, I’m feeling on top of it now. It doesn’t happen as much and if I’m feeling a sense of it then I breathe and calm myself down.”
But the ‘Casualty’ actor has been inspired to speak out about his anxiety after hearing Prince Harry talk about mental health.
He added to The Sun’s Bizarre TV column: “It’s something that I’ve had since I was young.
“I felt that there’s a responsibility for me to talk about that more so now cause there are a number of people like Prince Harry talking about mental health.”
Last month, the prince opened up about his own struggles with mental health.
Speaking at the Invictus Games closing ceremony, he said: “By simply being here and fighting back from some of the darkest experiences known to anyone, you have become role models for everyone at home or in the stands who might be struggling with their emotions or with a mental illness … You are showing it’s okay not to be OK.
“And most importantly, you are showing us all that it’s okay to ask for help. I’ve been there, you’ve been there, and we now need to reach out to those who can never even imagine themselves in that place.
“When you accept a challenge is real, you can have hope. When you understand your vulnerability, you can become strong. When you are brave enough to ask for help, you can be lifted up. You can start living, doing, feeling – not simply surviving.”

Harry Redknapp has no sense of smell

OHMYGOSSIP — Harry Redknapp has a big advantage over his ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ campmates because he has no sense of smell.
The football manager lost the ability to pick up odours after a road accident in Italy 18 years ago – which killed Bournemouth managing director Brian Tiler and three young Italians – when his minibus collided with a car.
In his 2013 autobiography ‘Always Managing’, Harry – who has “no memory” of the incident – wrote: “I woke up in hospital.
“I had fractured my skull and many other bones, and suffered a horrific gash to my leg.
“I don’t think my life was ever in danger but I have never regained my sense of smell, not a complete disadvantage in some dressing rooms.”
While that bodes well for potentially awful camp and jungle scents – and possible fish guts in the Bushtucker Trials – the 71-year-old star has also revealed he can last a long time without eating.
He recently said: “I have got bad eating habits. I can go all day without eating until the evening. Eating won’t be a problem for me.”
Meanwhile, his son Jamie Redknapp has joked his biggest fear is seeing his dad in the reality show’s famous shower.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column: “Dad hasn’t really got any phobias, to be honest. As a kid he was never worried about spiders. I’m worried about him with the shower scene in his pants!
“I hope he finds a mate in there because from people I’ve spoken to the hardest things are lack of food, but he doesn’t eat a lot my dad so that’s gonna help him, and secondly it’s the boredom factor, there’s no racing channel for him to watch.”

Emily Blunt can’t wait for her kids to watch Mary Poppins Returns

OHMYGOSSIP — Emily Blunt thinks it is “about time” she did a kid-friendly movie for her children.
The 35-year-old actress is excited that her kids – Hazel, four, and Violet, two – can finally watch a movie she is in when ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ is released later this year but admits she is worried they might “reject her version altogether” as they are big fans of Julie Andrews, who plays Mary Poppins in the original 1964 movie.
She said: “It’s about time I did something that is kid-friendly for them. They can’t exactly see ‘Girl on the Train’ and ‘Sicario’ is maybe not quite appropriate. But they are huge fans of Julie Andrews so they will probably just reject my version altogether!”
However, Emily isn’t quite sure how it will go as Hazel previously “melted down” when she saw her mother on screen for the very first time.
She added to the Daily Mirror newspaper: “My oldest one saw a clip of one film I was in before she melted down and was like, ‘I don’t want to see you in the movie!'”
Meanwhile, Emily previously admitted she “would pay” to make another ‘Mary Poppins’ movie and has hinted there’s the possibility for her to take on the iconic role again in the future.
She said: “Oh, I would pay Rob [Marshall, director] to do it again with me. Yeah, I would. Definitely. More stories left to tell.”
Whilst Rob added: “I do know that there’s a lot of material there and it’s very rich with all kinds of adventures and ideas. It’s certainly ripe for the picking.”

Shay Mitchell: I’m a ‘skincare junkie’

OHMYGOSSIP — Shay Mitchell is a “skincare junkie”.
The 31-year-old actress revealed her coveted skincare secrets in an episode of ‘Little Black Book’ for Harper’s Bazaar US, and confessed how she achieves her flawless, glowing complexion.
Speaking to the publication, Shay said: “Skincare, I am a skincare junkie. I’ve been playing with makeup since I was four-years-old and actually started my YouTube channel about four years ago.
“So with makeup and all the different trends you have to really take care of your skin because that sets the tone for everything else.
“Along the way from constantly working and travelling, your skin goes through a lot of ups and downs so for me the most important thing is finding good products that work well for your skin and people that can help you maintain that great skin journey.”
The former ‘Pretty Little Liars’ star admitted she regularly makes facial appointments with A-List esthetician, Shani Darden, and said that she has helped “transform her skin from how it was”.
Shay added: “So first up would be Shani, she is honestly a skin goddess.
“My skin went through a phase, it was really, really bad. It didn’t matter how much makeup you applied onto it, you could see it very obviously.
“Shani knew my concerns and honestly transformed my skin from what it was before.”
The ‘You’ star previously admitted she used to alter her appearance when she was younger to look more like her classmates, but these days she’s learned to work with her natural look.
She said: “When I was in high school, all my friends were blond with blue eyes, so to be more like them, I would dye my hair lighter, straighten it, wear contacts, and stay out of the sun so I wouldn’t get any darker.
“Now, everything I do beauty-wise is to enhance what I was born with. So this is what I will say to younger girls: Being unique is beautiful — celebrate that. Be you, don’t try to change.”

Chloe Grace Moretz’s secret to flawless skin

OHMYGOSSIP — Chloe Grace Moretz keeps her skin looking flawless with the help of face oils and creams.
The 21-year-old actress and model enlists the help of make-up artist Mai Quynh to perfect her striking looks, and the artist has revealed that her top products for keeping Chloe’s skin looking flawless and glowing include a $170 face oil, paired with a $605 cream.
According to InStyle magazine, Mai mixes Rodin’s Jasmin and Neroli Face Oil with La Prairie Skin Caviar Absolute Filler cream in order to treat very dry skin, and bring a natural glow back to the face.
For a long lasting dewy look, Mai also uses cream based blush – of which she particularly likes Kjaer Weis Cream Blush in Above and Beyond – which she dabs over the ‘Kick-Ass’ star’s cheeks, sets with translucent powder, and then tops with a powder blush, usually Chantecaille Philanthropy Cheek Colour in Joy.
Concealer is also a must in Chloe’s make-up routine, and Mai loves to use Clé de Peau Beauté concealer, as it comes complete with SPF 25. The artist applies the product with a we Beautyblender sponge, which she says should be “soaked but not dripping.”
When Mai tackle’s Chloe’s eyes, she pairs Jill Stuart Beauty’s Jelly Eye Colour in Rose – which dries to a holographic sheen – with her favourite eye shadow colours, which she highlighted as The Glamour Muse palette from Charlotte Tilbury’s Luxury Palette collection.
And to finish everything off, the make-up artist applies a $26 mascara by Blinc, and says her technique is to comb through the eyelashes after sweeping on the mascara in order to create a feathery look.
Mai grew up obsessing over the earth-toned makeup worn by ’90s supermodels, but now plays around with colour when it comes to creating looks for the ‘Miseducation of Cameron Post’ star.
The make-up artist said: “It’s fun to have colour. For inspiration I look at everything – plants, flowers, interiors, and fabrics.”

Queen Elizabeth hails Prince Charles ‘dedicated heir’ on 70th birthday

OHMYGOSSIP — Queen Elizabeth hailed Prince Charles a “dedicated and respected heir to the throne” at his birthday party at Buckingham Palace.
The Prince of Wales turned 70 on Wednesday (14.11.18), and the royal celebrated at a glamorous bash at the 92-year-old monarch’s London residence.
Charles’ wife, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan, Prince William and Duchess Catherine and Prince Philip were among those in attendance.
During a lengthy speech in honour of the first in line to the throne, the Queen hailed her eldest child a “wonderful father” and applauded him for his charity and conservation work.
She said: “Over his 70 years, Philip and I have seen Charles become a champion of conservation and the arts, a great charitable leader – a dedicated and respected heir to the throne to stand comparison with any in history – and a wonderful father.”
Complimenting Charles’ wife, Camila, and calling him “his own man”, she continued: “Most of all, sustained by his wife Camilla, he is his own man, passionate and creative.”
Elizabeth even made a quip about Charles’ age.
She said: “It means that you have lived long enough to see your child grow up.
“It is rather like –to use an analogy I am certain will find favour — planting a tree and being able to watch it grow.
“My mother saw me turn 70, of course.
“And she was heard to observe that 70 is exactly the age when the number of candles on your cake finally exceeds the amount of breath you have to blow them out.”
The Queen then referred to her son as a “Duchy Original”, in a nod to the organic food company he launched in 1990.
Leading the room into a toast, she said: “So this toast is to wish a happy birthday to my son, in every respect a Duchy original.”
Other guests included newlyweds Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack Brooksbank – who tied the knot last month – and Charles’ niece Zara Tindall.
Crown Princess of Denmark Mary and her husband Frederick, Prince Albert of Monaco, Queen Sonja of Norway and Greece’s Queen Sophia also made the special trip for the royal’s milestone birthday.

Lena Dunham ‘surprised by strength’ after hysterectomy op

OHMYGOSSIP — Lena Dunham has admitted her “strength surprised her” on the one-year anniversary of her hysterectomy.
The ‘Girls’ creator underwent the life-changing procedure after suffering from severe endometriosis – where the tissue that lines the womb is found outside the reproductive organ – and has taken to Instagram to share her journey from being “full of anxiety and grief” and dosed up on meds to her current state of feeling “happy”, “joyous” and “free”.
Alongside a selfie taken on the day she had the operation and one from Thursday night (15.11.8), she wrote: “What a difference a year makes … First photo was indeed a year ago today, on the first night after my hysterectomy for severe endometriosis.
I was smiling but my eyes say it all: full of anxiety and grief that I couldn’t locate through the layers of pain meds and benzos. Severe undiagnosed PTSD, feelings that my worth and purpose were being taken from me, angry and self-pitying with no sense of how I’d emerge…. (sic)”
Thanking her friend for dying her hair blue after it fell out, she continued: “Plus, my hair had fallen out in odd clumps and I’d taken it upon myself to dye what remained electric blue cuz if you’re gonna spiral why not SPIRAL (shout out to @joanaavillez for being a true friend and bringing Manic Panic when I demanded it at night in the hospital, though. I love you Jo.) (sic)”
And on how proud she is of herself for tackling each day as it came and showing her “vulnerability”, she concluded: “The second pic was taken tonight, happy joyous and (substance) free. The last year hasn’t been all roses and Kenny G songs, but it’s been proof enough for me in the presence of the divine. The divine- it’s been there in the kindness of my family, friends, chronically ill folks online. It’s also been there in the moments where I cried myself to sleep, shocked by the sounds coming out of me. It’s in the light slanting on my comforter, the resilience of my best friend’s baby clonking her head then giggling, the new hairs sprouting at my temples. Mostly I’ve found it in my own strength, because who the f**k knew. And I don’t mean strength as in powering through. I mean strength as in vulnerability, feeling it all, taking it as it comes and dancing even with a hospital grade pad in my underwear.
I surprised myself. I bet you can surprise yourself too. (sic)”
The post comes after Lena revealed she has been sober for six months after “misusing” anti-anxiety medication for three years.
The 32-year-old actress began taking Klonopin when she was unable to participate in daily activities and her anxiety was hindering her work, and she found the drug made her feel “like the person [she] was supposed to be”.
She said: “If I look back, there were a solid three years where I was, to put it lightly, misusing benzos, even though it was all quote unquote doctor prescribed…
“I’ve been sober for six months. My particular passion was Klonopin.
“I was having crazy anxiety and having to show up for things that I didn’t feel equipped to show up for.
“But I know I need to do it, and when I take a Klonopin, I can do it.
“[It made me] feel like the person I was supposed to be.
“It was like suddenly I felt like the part of me that I knew was there was freed up to do her thing.”

Dream Kardashian’s fairy-themed 2nd birthday

OHMYGOSSIP — Dream Kardashian had a fairy-themed second birthday party.
Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s little girl turned two on November 10, and members of the Kardashian/Jenner clan, including sisters Kourtney, Khloe, Kim Kardashian West and Kylie Jenner, came together on Wednesday (14.11.18) for the celebration at one of their homes, which was decorated with a blue and pink theme, with a giant teepee, blue birthday cake and many more sweet treats, such as upside down pink ice cream cones.
Dream was dressed in a baby blue tutu-style fairy dress with pretty flowers in her hair and around her waist, to match her favourite Powerpuff Girl, Bubbles.
Sharing a sweet selfie with her niece, who was holding onto a Bubbles lollipop, Kourtney wrote on her Instagram Story: “Happy birthday Dreamy girl.”
Among the many presents, was a mini glittery blue kids Bentley car.
There was also entertainment in the form of two fairy godmothers, a dream come true for the little Kardashian.
Kris Jenner led the birthday tributes to Dream on her actual birthday last week.
Alongside a photograph of Dream, the family matriarch wrote: “Happy 2nd Birthday to my beautiful granddaughter Dream!!!! You have brought such joy into our lives and I love you so dearly… what a special blessing you are my precious girl.. I LOVE YOU [love heart emojis] May you always have bubbles!! [love heart emojis] #happybirthdaydream #dreamgirl #dreamy (sic)”
Kim – who has kids North, five, Saint, two, and nine-month-old Chicago with her husband Kanye West – published a picture of herself holding her niece, and captioned the snap: “My baby Dream, Happy Birthday! We’ve come a long way since this pic lol! I love our snuggles. Saint loves you so much & so do I!!!! (sic)”
Chyna – who split from Rob in acrimonious circumstances in 2017 – added to her profile: “To my Dreamy, Today is your 2nd Birthday and one day when you are older you will read this and know how much I love and cherish you. I wish you the most fulfilling experiences on your journey, blessings that overflows on your hands and the courage to pursue your “Dreams”. As your mother I hope happiness and peace will follow you every step of the way. Happy Birthday to my beautiful and smart babygirl!!!!! Love Mommy [love heart emoji] (sic)”
Rob and Chyna are currently involved in a legal battle concerning the amount of child support the sock designer pays his ex-partner.
The ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ star previously asked to reduce his $20,000 per month payments for their little girl as he “can no longer afford these orders”, and new court documents claimed he was forced to sell half of his sock brand Arthur George to his mother in order to make ends meet.
According to the documents, which were obtained by The Blast, Rob blames 30-year-old Chyna – whose real name is Angela White – for pushing him to “eliminate” his presence on social media after she had a restraining order put on him when he went on a tirade against her last year, as he claims it has cost him a large part of the company’s success.

Joe Tracini blasts mystery man who questioned his anxiety

OHMYGOSSIP — Joe Tracini has blasted a mystery man who told him his anxiety “doesn’t really match up” after he was able to do a talk in front of “lots of people”.
The 30-year-old actor – known for playing Dennis Savage on ‘Hollyoaks’ – has been open about his mental health issues in the past, and put them to good use by doing a talk about bullying and “living with severe anxiety” yesterday (14.11.18), but he was then approached by a guy who questioned his feelings.
In a video he shared on his Twitter account, he said: “I did a talk today for lots of people about bullying, talking about feelings and living with severe anxiety.
“After it, this grown-up man came up to me and said, ‘Anxiety can’t be that bad though can it? Because you just did that, so it doesn’t really match up.’
“I want to say to you what I wanted to say to him in the tone that I wanted to say it.”
The ‘Oaks’ star then reeled off what he felt about the guy, but didn’t tell the man how he was feeling about him at the time because confrontation makes him anxious.
Joe then raised his voice and screamed: “Just because I’ve got a mental health problem it doesn’t mean I can’t do stuff, OK?
“It really is that bad. You want to know the conversation I’ve got going on in my head 80 per cent of the time with my own voice?
“It’s basically, ‘Everybody hates you.’ ‘No they don’t.’ ‘Yeah they do, everybody. You should just stop and kill yourself.’
“‘That’s a jump isn’t it?’ ‘No, you should. Because you’re never going to do anything right. You’re a failure, you’re never going to get any better. So kill yourself.’
“That’s what I’m living with, OK? I don’t say that for pity, I say it because your argument is invalid.
“You have to respect people that are living with a school bully in their own head.
“It’s people like you that stop people like me being able to talk about it. If I don’t talk about it I have to listen to that chat, and that does not end well.
“So pick up people that are down and line-up behind people that are standing up. And if you don’t understand something then listen to the people who are trying to explain it, so you can learn to help.
“Obviously didn’t say any of that to him, because I don’t like confrontation. It makes me anxious.”

Shaheen Jafargholi sees EastEnders stars more now he’s left the soap

OHMYGOSSIP — Shaheen Jafargholi sees his ‘EastEnders’ co-stars more now than when he was on the soap.
The 21-year-old actor played Shakil Kazemi in the BBC One show for two years until bowing out of the programme earlier this year when his alter-ego was stabbed to death, but he still regularly catches up with Tilly Keeper (Louise Mitchell) and Jasmine Armfield (Bex Fowler) most weekends.
He said: “I definitely think they miss me. But I probably see them more now than I did when I was there.
“Tilly and Jasmine are my best friends in real life, and I see them most weekends.
“I’m I Cardiff five days a week working, but I still have my flat in London, so I go home all the time.”
Shaheen recently saw his pals at the London-based Inside Soap Awards – but he couldn’t stay out all night partying because he had to get back to Cardiff, where he is filming ‘Casualty’.
He said: “I had to drive back to Cardiff at 11pm, as I had work the next day, so it went fast.
“But it was the best fast night ever.”
While he found it “quite daunting” switching from ‘EastEnders’ to the medical drama, he was pleased to have another fellow former Albert Square resident, Maddy Hill – who played Nancy Carter – alongside him in the green room.
He added to Inside Soap magazine: “It was nice to have someone who got what I was going through, in terms of jumping from one big show to another – initially it can be quite daunting.
“But Maddy is amazing and I look up to her a lot. She left ‘EastEnders’ just as I was joining, so we never got to do anything together.
“She’s a phenomenal actress, though – it’s great to work alongside her now.”

Ross Adams regrets avoiding flu jab

OHMYGOSSIP — Ross Adams regrets not having a flu jab after being laid up in bed for two days.
The ‘Hollyoaks’ actor – who plays Scott Drinkwell on the Channel 4 soap – admits he is “feeling extremely sorry for himself” after being struck down with the lurgy, and wishes he had taken some pre-emptive steps to try to avoid illness.
He wrote on Twitter: “Feeling extremely sorry for myself today laid up in bed with flu. Go get your flu jabs people. (sic)”
Ross admitted he has been “totally floored” by the flu for a second day running.
He tweeted: “I didn’t and this has totally floored me since yesterday (sic)”
Ross’ flu comes just three months after former ‘Hollyoaks’ actor James Sutton – who played John Paul McQueen in the Channel 4 soap on an off from 2006 to 2017 – revealed he had been struck down with viral gastroenteritis for four days.
He wrote on Twitter: “How long does Viral Gastroenteritis last for? Bored now.
“This is day 4. Everything hurts. (sic)”
One follower suggested that if the infection hadn’t disappeared in 48 hours “it means you’re dead”.
Former ‘Emmerdale’ star James – who played Ryan Lamb in the ITV soap – then quipped back: “Ah s**t. Wipe my internet history please lad. (sic)”
And his pal Joe Tracini – who portrayed Dennis Savage in ‘Hollyoaks’ – couldn’t resist a light-hearted response.
He wrote: “If it’s anything like going viral on Twitter, roughly 2 to 3 days. If not, please don’t die. (sic)”

Viola Davis: Steve McQueen is ‘one the greatest directors out there’

OHMYGOSSIP — Viola Davis thinks Steve McQueen is “one the greatest directors out there”.
The 53-year-old actress has praised the ‘Widows’ director for being one of the best filmmakers out there, “especially for a woman”.
Speaking on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she said: “Best experience of my life by the way, Steve McQueen has gotta be one the greatest directors out there in every single way. He’s the best director, especially for a woman.”
Meanwhile, Viola previously revealed she relished playing a character who finds herself in “dire circumstances” in ‘Widows’.
She said: “I think it’s only when you’re in dire circumstances that you see what you’re made of. When you have it easy, you can definitely wear the mask of grins and lies. Change happens when you’re forced into it, kicking and screaming. And these women are forced to take control of their lives.”
And Viola was thrilled when McQueen asked her to embrace her natural Afro hair in the movie.
She added: “You’re always taught as a person of colour to not like your hair. The kinkier it is, the so-called nappier it is, the uglier it is. We’re into a zeitgeist where people are fighting for their space to be seen. People have to know that there are different types of women of colour. We’re not all Foxy Brown. We’re not all brown or light-skinned beauties with a big Afro. We have the girl next door. We have the older, dark-skinned, natural-haired woman.”

Hugh Jackman never read X-Men comics before Wolverine casting

OHMYGOSSIP — Hugh Jackman had never read an X-Men comic before he was cast as Wolverine.
The 50-year-old actor played the iconic comic book character for 17 years, with his first outing in 2000, and he admits he “embarrassingly” didn’t know what a wolverine was.
Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he said: “Embarrassingly, I didn’t know what a wolverine was … And I presumed it was a made-up name for the comic book. I’d never read an X-Men comic. I’d never seen a wolverine … So I presumed it was a wolf.”
Meanwhile, Hugh – who had to bulk-up to portray Wolverine – previously admitted he had “never” lifted any weights before filming ‘X-Men’.
Speaking about his work-out regime, he said: “Before ‘X-Men’ I’d never lifted a weight in my life. I used to work at a gym and I’d make fun of all the guys in the weight room. I thought the way they’d look in the mirror for two hours a day was ridiculous.”
And Hugh”didn’t compromise on anything” when making ‘Logan’.
He explained: “There is not a frame of this film where I can say I didn’t put everything into it. I couldn’t have made this film if I didn’t make the decision within myself that this was the last one. I just didn’t compromise on anything. I was a pain to a lot of people, because I don’t get another shot at this. This is a character I love. I owe my career to this character.”
