Kelsey Merritt’s mascara secret

OHMYGOSSIP — Kelsey Merritt wore drugstore mascara to her Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show casting.
Although the 22-year-old model – who is the first Filipino woman to ever walk in the Victoria’s Secret show – walked the iconic catwalk in $918 worth of beauty products, she revealed the cosmetics she wore to her audition were far less expensive and included Maybelline’s Falsies Black Drama mascara to achieve her eye look.
In a video for Vogue, Kelsey talked her fans through her everyday beauty regime and the star began prepping her skin by mixing moisturiser and sun cream, she then applies coconut oil to her entire body, noting that it’s important to “listen to what your skin needs”.
As for her go-to skin products, Kelsey uses a liquid low coverage foundation – so she doesn’t cover up her freckles – and she confessed to wearing a shade darker than her skin tone.
She said: “I love looking bronze and sun-kissed, so I usually use a shade darker than my skin tone.”
The brunette beauty finishes her face by lightly contouring and then applying concealer, although she admits that it’s important not to have too much coverage on her face.
She explained she wants her makeup to: “Bring out my best qualities — not cover them up.”
In keeping with Kelsey’s natural look, she finishes her regime with a light dusting of Charlotte Tilbury Beach Lip & Cheek Stick and bronzer, a touch of Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick, clear brow gel, a shade of golden glitter eyeshadow and finally the Falsies Black Drama mascara.
Another top tip from Kelsey is to keep an aloe plant near your bathroom and use the gel from the plant to nourish your scalp and dry ends of your hair.

Ezra Miller dresses as Hedwig for Fantastic Beasts premiere

OHMYGOSSIP — Ezra Miller dressed as Hedwig for the European premiere of ‘Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald’.
The 26-year-old actor – who identifies as gender fluid – walked the carpet at the premiere in London on Tuesday night (13.11.18) in an all-white feathered ensemble inspired by Harry Potter’s owl from J.K Rowling’s wizarding franchise.
Ezra also had the words ‘Avada Kedavra’ written in a pyramid shape on his hands, which is known as the “Killing Curse”, one of the three “Unforgivable Curses” from Rowling’s books.
The ‘Justice League’ star – who plays Credence Barebone in the new magical franchise – was delighted with the reaction he and his castmates got from fans at the event and he thanked Rowling for creating a role which means he’s know part of the Potter Universe.
Referring to the fans who were in attendance, he said: “I’m always extremely excited to be in these strange circles that we run in where we can say ‘Hello’. And we’ll always be together, but sometimes we’ll meet.”
Referring to the new characters that Rowling has created for ‘Fantastic Beasts’, he added: “Being relatable is the fortunate byproduct of doing something extremely selfishly. So like, I think artists inherently work with the silhouette of your own being, but then what’s beautiful is that when something becomes personal enough, people can connect to it.
“Like what J.K. Rowling does for us. She works from a place that is deeply personal. It comes from her in a way that’s so authentic and that makes it something to which everyone can relate.”

Lady Gaga snuck into local cinema to see A Star Is Born

OHMYGOSSIP — Lady Gaga snuck into a local cinema to watch ‘A Star Is Born’ – but got so “emotional” she left before the end.
The ‘Million Reasons’ hitmaker stars as Ally alongside Bradley Cooper’s Jackson Maine in modern remake of the 1936 classic – which tells the love story of a fading rock star who launches his love interest’s career – and has revealed she went incognito to a theatre to see it with members of the public, but was so upset by the “tragic” ending, she had to rush out.
She told the latest issue of Variety magazine: “Yeah, I snuck in.
“I sat through most of it.
“I had to remove myself before the end.
“The film moves me so deeply.
“I feel so entrenched in the character that the second half of the film – without revealing what happens – is so emotional and tragic.
“I have to take myself out of it.”
The 32-year-old singer – who recently got engaged to talent agent Christian Carino – wept when she first watched her acting debut too.
She said: “I cried the whole time, because I missed Jackson.”
The ‘Born This Way’ hitmaker – who is tipped to win an Oscar for the role – admits that she was filled with “doubt” about whether she would be “good enough” for the big screen, but she soon realised from the reaction she received that she had no need to worry.
She said: “This has been a very transformative time for me.
“As an artist, there’s always a feeling of ‘Am I good enough? Am I making something honest? Am I making something true?’ There is a sort of stagnant sadness in me, wondering if I’m enough. “Today I did not see that. I saw something different. I saw a clarity. I saw a truth.”

Spencer Matthews: Vogue made me want to marry

OHMYGOSSIP — Spencer Matthews had never considered getting married until he met Vogue Williams.
The 30-year-old reality star met the Irish model on ‘The Jump’ last summer and the tied the knot in June this year, three months before welcoming son Theodore into the world, and he knew as soon as they got together their relationship was “different” to anything he’d experienced in the past.
He said: “I’d never given marriage any thought before meeting Vogue – I didn’t see any of my previous relationships heading to the finish line as I was just a young man experimenting.
“But I knew from the moment Vogue and I started dating that it was going to be totally different.”
And since welcoming their son, who is affectionately known as Teddy, into the world, Spencer has only fallen more in love with his wife.
Speaking to Closer magazine, he gushed: “Vogue’s a fantastic mum. She’s super organised. Watching her being the great mother that she is just makes me fall more and more in love with her. I think we’d like four kids ideally.”
The former ‘Made in Chelsea’ star welcomed turning 30 over the summer and is enjoying the new stage in his life.
He said: “I do feel very grown up, but it’s welcome. As a little kid I thought it would be lovely if you had your life set by the time you’re 30 and, as it turned out, a lot happened the year I turned 30 – I got married and had a child. I couldn’t be much happier.”
Spencer was known for his womanising ways on ‘Made in Chelsea’ but insists there was a lot less “drama” in his life once he quit the show after four years in 2015.
He said: “Given that it was my job to provide drama on ‘MIC’, I’d like to think I did a good job. It’s not that my relationships on the show were fake, it’s just the drama was exaggerated – everything would be strung out.”

Mia Goth and co-stars ‘giggled’ on High Life set

OHMYGOSSIP — Mia Goth and her co-stars couldn’t stop “giggling” on the set of ‘High Life’ because they “didn’t fully understand what was going on” at times on the sci-fi film.
The 24-year-old English actress – who starred opposite Robert Pattinson in the Claire Denis-directed film – has revealed that she had to watch the movie twice because there was “a lot going on” in the plot which sees a group of criminals sent into a black hole in space for scientists to conduct sexual experiments on them,
Speaking to The I Paper, Mia said “There were times when we were on set and we would look at each other and giggle a little bit because we wouldn’t fully understand what was going on. It’s such a metaphorical movie, that 50 per cent of it is whatever the audience brings to the movie. There is a lot going on – space is used as a metaphor to deal with loneliness and it shows the lengths people go to have a connection.”
The ‘Nymphomaniac’ star – who married Shia LaBeouf in October 2016 before the pair divorced in September 2018 – recently appeared in horror remake ‘Suspiria’ and she insists that film and ‘High Life’ both are influenced by the #MeToo and Time’s Up movements.
Mia explained: “The explosion of what was happening in that era, the explosion of women’s rights and women demanding equality.
“I think that transcends into our movie, it’s very much a feminist film. In the film, men are being mocked and there is something quite redemptive about the whole situation. It was really empowering to be involved in something like that.
“When we were filming ‘High Life’, the #MeToo and the Harvey Weinstein scandal and everything was just breaking, so it wasn’t influenced by it at all. But that is what makes both ‘Suspiria’ and ‘High Life’ good movies – the fact that they are current and reacting to the times that we are in.”

Bradley Cooper wanted Jack White for A Star is Born

OHMYGOSSIP — Bradley Cooper approached Jack White to play the lead male role in ‘A Star is Born’.
The 43-year-old star directed the remake and ultimately starred opposite Lady Gaga’s Ally Maine alter ego as singer/songwriter Jackson Maine but he admitted he had contacted a “musician” to play the lead in his Oscar-tipped movie without naming any names.
However, Variety has now confirmed that the person in question is former White Stripes frontman Jack White.
Speaking to the publication, Cooper said: “I saw this other person that I wanted to do this, who is an actual musician. But [the studio] wouldn’t make the movie with him.”
‘A Star is Born’ has been remade three times, first with Judy Garland playing the lead in 1954 and then again with Barbara Streisand in 1976, and Chairman of the Warner Bros. Pictures Group, Toby Emmerich, confessed that the highly-anticipated script was rewritten several times by Cooper to give it a new angle which massively paid off.
Emmerich said: “The first ending that I read, [Jackson] actually swims out into the ocean, where he commits suicide. The script that we had when he started shooting, he rides his motorcycle. It was more like the Kris Kristofferson ending in the 1976 version with the Ferrari … but Bradley changed his mind and came to see me and pitched the idea of what he ended up shooting. I think he was right. When I watch the movie now, I can’t imagine it ending any other way.”

Camila Cabello is the ‘happiest ever’ with Matthew Hussey

OHMYGOSSIP — Camila Cabello’s boyfriend makes her the “happiest she’s ever been in her life”.
The ‘Havana’ hitmaker has been dating Matthew Hussey “for kind of a long time” but she still feels nervous and gets tongue-tied in his presence.
Speaking in the December issue of America’s Marie Claire magazine, Camila said: “It’s annoying, because we’ve been together for kind of like a long time now, but every time, I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I have to talk now.’
“He’s so similar to me … In person, we’re just weird and silly and stupid together. He makes me the happiest I’ve ever been in my life.”
And the 21-year-old singer admitted she feels “super nervous” if she knows the dating coach, 31, is in the audience whenever she performs.
She confessed: “Any time he’s there, I get super nervous. I stutter or my hands are shaky.”
Camila thinks she can be her true self around Matthew, who she was first romantically linked with in February after meeting on the set of TV show ‘Today’.
She explained: “Basically, there’s the me that I really am, on the inside, which is the nerdy one — the kind of introverted, shy one — and then there’s the sexy, overly confident one, doing great dance moves and being super sassy.”
The former Fifth Harmony singer is learning to take things more slowly in her professional life as she’s worried she’ll burn out if she doesn’t take time out – though she admitted that isn’t easy because she’s enjoying her career so much.
She said: “I realised if I don’t take days off, I will actually die. Or collapse, so I’m trying not to go too crazy for the rest of the tour.
“It’s hard, though. I’m at this point in my life when I’m so happy – it’s hard to say no.”

Jonah Hill’s big screen best friend

OHMYGOSSIP — Jonah Hill’s movie ‘Mid90s’ is his “best friend”.
The 34-year-old actor feels “vulnerable” now his directorial debut has been released because he turned to the project in order to vent his feelings and emotions over a long period of time.
He said about the movie: “It’s my best friend. It’s literally my best friend. Like, anytime I was sad, angry, happy, lonely, I’d go in my room and I’d just write, spend time with this, cater to it, build it.
“And then now it goes off into the world and someone can…beat it and punish it or hug it. This kind of thing is vulnerable in a way I’ve never experienced before.”
And Jonah – whose brother, Jordan Feldstein, died last December while he was working on the movie – credits the film for “saving [his] life” and admitted it was hard to say goodbye once the final cut was complete.
He told the new issue of America’s GQ magazine: “The timing was really fucked. So it was on my mind every day. Thank God for the movie. The movie saved my life in a lot of different ways…
“That’s why it was hard to say goodbye.”
Early screenings of ‘Mid90s’ carried a dedication to Jordan, but the ‘Moneyball’ star ultimately decided to remove the message.
He said: “When I was showing it to people I know intimately, they understood. But when we started showing it to an audience, they’re like, ‘What?’ It’s asking a lot of an audience to understand the intimate details of my life. The film is for him, but I took out the straight dedication.”
While the lead character in the movie, Stevie, has a complicated relationship with his own older brother, Jonah insists the film isn’t a “biopic” of his relationship with Jordan.
He said: “I definitely learned about hip-hop from my brother. I would sneak into his room, and that’s how I learned about everything. I had better taste in film and music than I ever would have had, because he was six years older and had great taste. And we fought like brothers fight, but it’s not a biopic of our life together.”

Adam Lambert says LGTBQ community must avoid ‘indifference’

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Lambert has called for the LGBTQ community to not let “indifference” slow their campaign for genuine equality.
The ‘Never Close Our Eyes’ hitmaker has always been open about his own sexuality, confirming he was gay shortly after finishing as runner-up on the 2009 series of ‘American Idol’, and he thinks the danger for his community is if they become apathetic to politics and are happy with the rights they’ve already won.
In an interview with the new issue of Schon! Magazine, he said: “I think the biggest enemy of the LGBTQ community right now is indifference. It’s people just feeling like victims, and then just sitting around and taking it. That’s the problem. What’s so exciting right now is that so many people are mobilising and encouraging people to step up. We have to get involved politically. I think a lot of liberals and younger people have felt for a very long time that their voice doesn’t count and that they can’t affect change and there’s this underlying sense of hopelessness, unfortunately.”
Adam – who performs with Queen – accepts he has a responsibility to use his voice to speak out in support of the LGBTQ community and he wants everyone to be politically engaged and realise that they can make positive changes in society.
Criticising the change in political attitudes in America since President Donald Trump was voted into the White House, he said: “I’m realising now is that what’s necessary to keep pushing things forward is that one has to get politically involved because there are basic civil rights that are being questioned. The trans community just recently received a terrible blow with the Trump administration basically saying trans people do not exist. It’s just fundamentally ridiculous. It’s like saying climate change doesn’t exist, it’s bullshit. So we just need to get involved.”

Sally Carman didn’t feel ‘responsible enough’ for dog

OHMYGOSSIP — Sally Carman didn’t get a dog until she was 41 because she didn’t feel “responsible enough”.
The ‘Corrie’ star – who plays drug and alcohol addict Abi Franklin on the ITV soap – admits her pet pooch is “quite a healthy” canine, but she didn’t feel comfortable taking on control of an animal beforehand because she “didn’t have faith in herself”.
She said: “The amount of times I’ve, perhaps, not had faith in myself.
“It took me until being 41 to get a dog because I didn’t know if I would be responsible enough. He’s still alive, he’s actually quite a healthy little dog.
“But that’s me with a wonderful life and all the support in the world.”
Sally also admitted she has been “emotionally affected” by her ‘Corrie’ character, who is set for a tough few weeks in prison.
When asked how the emotional side of Abi affects Sally in real life, she replied: “It affects me a lot.
“I love playing those scenes and those storylines, because as a woman who has only ever had support, the amount of times I’ve messed up and made massive mistakes, which could’ve gone either way.”
Sally admits the ‘Corrie’ fans were concerned about her character at first, but they are coming round to her now and enjoying her comical scenes with Kate Ford’s alter-ego Tracy Barlow.
Speaking on the ‘Justice’ podcast, she added: “A lot of the feedback on Twitter and that … I don’t look a lot because you don’t want to go down that road … we were doing a few scenes with Kate, and it’s slowly now coming through, ‘Oh they’re quite funny.’
“They just need time to adjust and realise that everything is going to be OK.”

AJ McLean confesses relapse

OHMYGOSSIP — AJ McLean has relapsed in his battle against addiction this year.
The Backstreet Boys singer – who entered rehab in 2001, 2002 and 2011 for depression and alcohol abuse – admitted he finds it a daily “struggle” to stay sober and part of his problems is feeling conflicted about trying to put his own needs ahead of those of his and wife Rochelle’s two daughters, Ava, six, and 20-month-old Lyric.
He told People magazine: “You know, it’s interesting about sobriety with family and with kids — you still have to put yourself first, and that’s been a real big struggle for me.
“Look, I have no shame in saying, I’ve relapsed over the past year. It’s no secret that this is a disease, and that it’s a daily struggle.
“Are my kids and my wife a huge support, and a huge inspiration? Yes, a hundred percent. But, at the same time the biggest problem I deal with, with them, is putting myself first, and not my family first. Because in my mind, that’s what you should do, you should put family first. You should put your kids first.
“But because I’m still very codependent, I’m Mr. People Pleaser — and I think a lot of that comes from being a performer, and wanting to see the crowd happy, and seeing everybody around you, and loving the attention — I want to make sure everyone’s cool.”
And he admitted his approach to life has caused him problems.
He added: “If you do that too often, then you forget about taking care of yourself, and you do tend to get lost in the sauce. And that’s happened to me numerous times.”
Over the years, A.J. has grown to accept he needs to work at sobriety “daily” and the 40-year-old musician has developed ways of getting through the “worst” times.
He explained: “One of the best things I was told, from my sponsor, from my friends, is the only way around is through.
“And sometimes, you’re just going to have the worst days possible. But if you surround yourself with a good support group, if you go to meetings, if you talk to other addicts … you have to make it a lifestyle, you truly do.
“It doesn’t mean that you can’t have fun, and can’t be yourself. But if you want to stay alive, there is no true … For me, you don’t beat it. It’s not like, OK, I’m sober, it’s done. I’ll never drink again. No. You have to work at it daily. Or I will creep up. And it’s a mother, and it will win if you don’t take care of yourself.”

Tessa Peake-Jones and Gwyneth Strong’s kids are new Raquel and Cassandra

OHMYGOSSIP — Tessa Peake-Jones and Gwyneth Strong’s daughters have become the new Raquel Turner and Cassandra Trotter.
The ‘Only Fools and Horses’ stars shot to fame as the two characters on the popular sitcom, and while it came to an end in December 2013, the pair have remained good pals and their offspring also get on well with one another.
Gwyneth – who has son Oscar, 30, and daughter Lottie, 27, with ‘Footballers’ Wives’ star Jesse Birdsall – said: “We’re great friends, and our daughters are great friends.
“We’ve gone through so much together, it’s a really, really long time.
“We went in as the two new women so we were clinging to each other. It was intimidating.
“That really bonded us I think. It became so inclusive.”
Despite being good friends, Gwyneth admitted she and Tessa don’t necessarily have a lot in common, as while she came into the show in 1989 as a huge fan, Tessa – who made her debut as Raquel in 1988 – had never seen the programme, which began in 1981.
Tessa – who has daughter, Mollie, 27, and son Charlie, 18, with ex-partner Douglas Hodge, who played the adult version of Damien Trotter in ‘Only Fools’ episode ‘Heroes and Villains’ – said: “I was probably the only person in the country who had never watched the programme.
“I was completely oblivious to the entire thing.
“I just did it because the script was amazing, and the character was fantastic, and I’d heard people say, ‘It’s a really funny show.’ ”
Speaking in a joint interview on ‘Loose Women, Gwyneth added: “We’re great friends but we’re opposite in many ways.
“My family loved the show and we watched it loads. I went for my meeting after I had my son.”
‘Loose Women’ panellist Saira Khan admitted one of her favourite things about the sitcom – which was created and written by John Sullivan, who passed away in 2011 aged 64 – was the “inclusivity” of the show.
Speaking to the pair, she said: “With your presence you made it more family viewing. I remember watching with my family, and obviously we’re an Asian family, but we felt we were watching our friends, it was because you were so inclusive you actually represented everyone’s communities.
“It was so lovely. There were probably a few politically incorrect statements, but we were laughing along.
“What was it, Mr. Singh with the turban? The Turbanator.”
‘Only Fools’ ran for seven series and 16 special episodes from 1981 and 2003, and told the story of the lives of market trader brothers Derek ‘Del Boy’ Trotter (Sir David Jason) and Rodney Trotter (Nicholas Lyndhurst), whose main aim in life was to become millionaires.
They achieved their goal in the 1996 Christmas special episode ‘Time on Our Hands’, which still holds the record for the highest UK audience for a sitcom episode after 24.3 million tuned in to see the magical moment their Harrison pocket watch fetched £6.1 million at auction.
Sadly, they lost the money due to bad investments in the Central American Markets, but returned to their Peckham flat for a further three festive specials, ‘If They Could See Us Now’, ‘Strangers on the Shore’ and the final ever episode, ‘Sleepless in Peckham’, which aired on Christmas Day 2003.

Catherine Tyldesley erects Christmas tree 41 days before big day

OHMYGOSSIP — Catherine Tyldesley has put up her Christmas tree 41 days before the big day.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ star is so “obsessed” with Christmas she has erected her festive trunk already, just under six weeks before Santa Claus makes his arrival.
She shared a picture of her tree on her Instagram account, and added the caption: “I don’t care that we’re early!! Im obsessed with #christmas !! When our gorgeous friends @perfectweddings_alt can do THIS… why not?!?! Absolutely thrilled to bits with our #decorations guys!! Thankyou so much!!! Roll on #Christmas ! Highly recommend @perfectweddings_alt for helping to make your home / work place sparkle!! (sic)”
Catherine and her husband Tom Pitfield always make a tradition of putting up the perennial plant with their three-year-old son Alfie.
She added: “We always have a big tree that we do ourselves with Alfie, but the rest of the house in these pics is down to these guys! (sic)”
While Catherine is a huge fan of Christmas trees, she isn’t a big lover of sleeping among real trees after recently admitting she had politely declined her family’s proposition to go camping, and instead upgraded the plan to a glamping trip.
She recently tweeted: “My boys want to go camping… obvs I’m mortified. So I’m meeting them half way… recommendations for #Glamping up North please?!?! (sic)”
What’s more, she is even less of a fan of creepy crawlies, and took to Twitter to reassure her supporters she will not be appearing on this year’s ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
She tweeted: “Just to shoot down the rumours… I’m NOT going in the jungle guys. I mean come on?! I’d be TERRIFIED and pretty terrible at those challenges!! Hats off to all those brave enough! (sic)”

Adam Lambert: Queen works so well for me

OHMYGOSSIP — Adam Lambert thinks his work with Queen compliments his solo career.
The 36-year-old singer has been providing vocals for the ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ group on tour since 2012 – in place of the late Freddie Mercury – and he cherishes his time on the road with Brian May and Roger Taylor as it’s a different vibe to the music he makes on his own.
In an interview with the new issue of Schon! Magazine, he said: “I’ve never felt like working with Queen has put any sort of a damper on my solo work. I don’t feel as though we can compete with each other. I think that actually, they have coexisted very well, timing wise. The collaboration with Queen is little chunks of time that I go on the road with them, and then I’m done so it’s left me plenty of time to sort of flip-flop into my solo career.”
In the past few months Adam has been working hard on his upcoming fourth album and has laid down enough tracks for three LPs which now must whittle down.
The ‘American Idol’ runner-up admits his shows with Queen singing their stadium rock classics have had an influence on the sound of his new tracks.
He said: “There’s a lot of reference to glam rock and classic rock of the 70s and the early 80s. I’ve gone back to a lot of those inspirations. I feel there’s also some parallel to my second album. I mean it’s a general statement to make because obviously, it’s more than one song, but I think fans will draw some comparisons … It’s coming back to the music that inspired me to want to become a musician in the first place.”
Revealing the theme of his collection of tracks, he added: “I think there are some general ideas of resilience in the theme. There’s a theme of sort of being in your power. And if you’re not in it, kind of taking it back. Definitely plenty of longing … there’s a sense of longing in searching for intimacy. The search for intimacy and the elusiveness of it.”

Matty Healy talks exploring sexuality

OHMYGOSSIP — Matty Healy “kind of” wants to kiss guys.
The 1975 frontman – who is in a relationship with model Gabriella Brooks – insists he isn’t attracted to men in a “carnal, sexual way” but he has shared same-sex smooches in the past.
Asked if he’s attracted to men, he said: “Yes, but not in a carnal, sexual way. The other sex is still attractive, it’s just that sex is weird, isn’t it? Do you know what I mean? It’s, like, Do I want to do b**w jobs with a guy? No. Do I want to kiss a guy? Yeah, kind of…”
And asked if he has kissed a guy, he said: “Yes.”
The 29-year-old star – who is the son of actors Tim Healy and Denise Welch – recalled the first time he ever saw a “passionate kiss” was between two male friends of his mother and he admitted it made him crave the same “intimacy” the dancers were sharing with their “sexy” smooch.
He told Shortlist magazine: “The first passionate kiss I saw was between two blokes. I remember it vividly.
“How intimate it was, and I wanted that intimacy. It was an erotic and sexual presentation to do in front of a child, now I think of it.
“I just saw it as sexy. As a kid, if you see two grown-ups kiss properly, you’re a bit like: ‘What’s that? What’s that feeling? I didn’t know we did that with each other.’ I think my perceived ideas of masculinity stem from my first idea of sexuality.”
The ‘Chocolate’ hitmaker recalled how he used to “look up” to his parents’ successful gay friends and questioned his own “flamboyant” nature.”
He said: “Well, you can look at whether sexuality is a social construct – which, of course, it isn’t.
“But when I was a kid most of the people [around me] who were successful and doing what they wanted to do were gay. I associated that freedom of self with freedom of expression. I think I looked up to them, not as pariahs or outsiders, but as people who were truly themselves. I’ve always found that engaging.
“I’ve thought: ‘Maybe it’s unusual to be as flamboyant as I am, or unusual to be as in the gay world as I am… What does that mean? Am I a bit gay?’ And then I was, like, ‘No, that’s not how it works!’ It comes down to who you want to f**k.”
