Sir Paul McCartney to reissue Flowers in the Dirt album

OHMYGOSSIP — Sir Paul McCartney is to reissue his 1989 album ‘Flowers in the Dirt’.
The former Beatles star has announced he will be releasing a remastered version of his eighth solo studio album on March 24, which will also include some bonus demo tracks recorded with Elvis Costello.
He said: “I hadn’t listened to them in ages but when I did I knew we had to put them out.
“We made a little tape of them and sent them to Elvis, who loved them too. We said we should put out an EP or something and now the moment’s finally arrived.”
And the DVD edition of the album will also feature three short films with some never-before-seen footage from McCartney’s writing and recording sessions as well as music videos and the ‘Put It There’ documentary, which was originally released in 1989. This edition will also include a number of b-sides, remixes and edits as well as another set of demos.
McCartney is also releasing a deluxe edition, which comes complete with a 32-page notebook that features some handwritten lyrics and a catalogue from his ex-wife Linda McCartney’s Flowers in the Dirt photo exhibit.
Fans will also get their hands on a 64-page book, which contains photographs from McCartney’s ‘The One’ music video and another book which includes interviews from McCartney and Costello as well as other contributors that help to document the process of making of the album.
Meanwhile, Paul previously admitted he almost ended his career with The Beatles because of stage fright.
Asked what his biggest fear is, he said: “Performing, it was always the idea that the audience didn’t like you and you had to prove yourself. I think that’s why a lot of people get stage fright and get nervous. You think, ‘Oh my god, I’m gonna be terrible, they hate me, and it’s all terrible.’
“And so I think that was one of the earliest fears. I remember nearly giving it all up when we were doing a concert in Wembley – which was a Poll-Winners concert – in the really early days of The Beatles. And I remember feeling physically sick with a knot in my stomach thinking, ‘I should give this up, this is just too painful, what am I doing?’ I got over it. And as you can see I didn’t give it up! So that’s two different kinds of fears.”

Soulja Boy arrested after gun found in home

OHMYGOSSIP — Soulja Boy has reportedly been arrested for breaking the terms of his probation after police found a gun at his house.
The ‘Crank That’ rapper is believed to have been taken in by the Los Angeles Police Department after they received an anonymous tip off on Thursday (15.12.16) that he “had been threatening people online with guns” with the weapon stowed at his Hollywood Hills mansion, according to TMZ.
After cops searched the ‘Kiss Me Thru The Phone’ star’s home he was spotted at a North Hollywood police station where he had been driven to led by a patrol car.
The hip-hop star was to be released from his probation, which banned him from carrying weapons, at the end of December.
The 26-year-old musician – whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way – was serving a 24-month parole before his arrest after he was found in possession of a loaded gun in 2014.
Soulja Boy caused concern for his well-being in August, when he posted a disturbing video on social media threatening an unknown person with a gun.
In the clip, he says: “Hey dude, f*** you and f*** Nia Riley. Stop playing me ‘fore some shooters be outside your house.”
He added: “Kill you, stop playing with me.”
Soulja Boy’s former flame Nia Riley told the gossip website at the time that he was hitting out an internet troll in the video and she would not report it to the police.
The American musician was previously arrested in 2011 in a separate case involving drugs and weapons.

OHMYGOSSIP — Tony Bennett says “It’s too late to retire”.

“I have Lady Gaga, Stevie Wonder, Michael Bublé, Andrea Bocelli, Bob Dylan, Kevin Spacey, Diana Krall, k.d. lang … It goes on and on like that.”
Talking about reaching the ripe age of 90, he previously said: “I turn 90 tomorrow (03.08.16) and feel like I’m just getting started and look forward to each day.”
The ‘Anything Goes’ hitmaker said then he feels honoured that so many big artists will come together to mark the occasion.

Hanson will release a Christmas album in 2017

OHMYGOSSIP — Hanson are set to release a Christmas album next year.
The American pop band – comprised of brothers Isaac, 36, Taylor, 33, and Zac, 31 – have revealed they have “just finished” working on a new festive LP following their success 20 years ago with ‘Snowed In’, and it’s slated for release in 2017.
And the group have revealed tracks including ‘Winter Wonderland’ and ‘Blue Christmas’ will feature on their compilation.
The trio announced the news via social media, which saw them post links to their 1997 album, including never before seen footage of when they joined forces to record the popular record.
The group shared a string of tweets, which read: “20 years ago we made Snowed In. Just finished a new Christmas album for 2017 -Z https://youtu.be/ueRMiD-busY via @YouTube
“HANSON’s New Christmas Album: Ooh Christmas -Z https://youtu.be/1ZvBr3bJZgQ via @YouTube
“Live version of Winter Wonderland, studio version will be on the new Christmas album in 2017 -Z https://youtu.be/86kfYFNDtNA via @YouTube
“Just posted a new Christmas Song on http://Hanson.net part of the members Super Digital Pants album -Z #Merry #ChristmasBall (sic).”
Although Hanson have teased the album will be out next year, a set release date has yet to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, the ‘MMMBop’ hitmakers have admitted they would love ’24K magic’ hitmaker Bruno Mars to cover their 90s classic because they think he would do the song justice.
Speaking previously, Isaac said: “People can’t sing the chorus right. Most of the time they syncopate it wrong.
“But if Bruno Mars were interested, he’d probably find a way to kill it.”
Whilst Taylor added: “Someone needs to either make it totally their own in a genuinely unique way, or it needs to be a band that has a sensibility for old R&B. Fitz and the Tantrums could maybe do it.”

Metallica's Lars Ulrich is a huge fan of Rihanna

OHMYGOSSIP — Metallica’s Lars Ulrich is a huge fan of “next level” Rihanna.
The ‘Nothing Else Matters’ hitmaker admits that he is not familiar with many pop musicians, but through his children – Bryce, nine, Layne, 15, and Myles, 18, who he has from previous relationships – and getting to perform with the ‘Work’ hitmaker he realised how amazing she really is.
In an interview with The Sun newspaper, the 52-year-old rocker said: “My kids play me stuff like Kendrick Lamar or Kamasi Washington, but I didn’t know who any of these people were before – I’m just not exposed to much pop music in my life.
“I didn’t know much about Rihanna either, but we did a show with her in New York and it was like, ‘Holy s***, she’s really good! She’s next level.”
The heavy metal group – also comprised of James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo – showed their appreciation for another pop legend on their new album ‘Hardwired… To Self Destruct’.
Frontman James Hatfield, 53, was inspired to write a song about Amy Winehouse after being affected by the “misconnection with reality” that was apparent in the documentary ‘Amy’.
He was both fascinated and horrified by what he witnessed in Asif Kapadia’s 2015 film, as he watched the drug-addicted musician turn from a “joyous person” to a lost soul who was “trying to escape” her life.
Hetfield decided to detail his feelings about the ‘Rehab’ singer in the track ‘Moth Into The Flame’ from their 10th studio album.
He said: “Just watching that movie was extremely saddening – how her life went from such a lively joyous person, to someone who was just trying to escape the reality of where she was.
“It really hit me in the one part of the movie where she was lost in her mind, it seemed, and she was just leaving her flat in England. The press were just hanging out in front of her place all the time, snapping these pictures of her, saying, ‘Hey, Amy, how’s it going?’ Talking to her like they know her. They just don’t notice – they wouldn’t say, ‘You look skinny, you look unhealthy.’ There was a total misconnection there with reality.”
Winehouse tragically died in July 2011 at the age of 27 from alcohol poisoning after a heavy drinking binge.
‘Hardwired… To Self-Destruct’ is Metallica’s 10th studio album and their first since 2008’s ‘Death Magnetic’ and Hetfield previously revealed a lot of the tracks on the LP were influenced in some way by Winehouse.

Ed Sheeran to headline Glastonbury

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran will headline Glastonbury 2017.
The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker – who has been on hiatus for the last year – will reportedly make one of his musical dreams come true when he tops the bill at the world-famous musical festival in Worthy Farm, Somerset, next June.
And Ed’s signing has delighted the event’s organisers, Michael and Emily Eavis.
A source told The Sun newspaper: “Michael is delighted to get Ed signed up.
“It’s going to be a huge moment for the festival having him up there marking his comeback in front of a giant crowd.
“Ed’s always said headlining Glastonbury has been a big ambition of his.
“Topping his three sold-out Wembley Stadium shows last year will be tough, but this is as big as it gets.”
Ed will join previously-confirmed headliners Radiohead at the event, while Foo Fighters – who were forced to pull out of the 2015 festival after frontman Dave Grohl broke his leg – are expected to be the final headliners.
The news comes a few days after the 25-year-old singer returned to Instagram and Twitter, exactly a year after announcing he was taking a break from social media.
Posting the same photo on both social media outlets, the ‘Sing’ hitmaker uploaded a plain light blue background with no caption, before also changing his profile picture on each site to the same image.
The ‘Sing’ hitmaker’s last post detailed how he was going to “travel the world” before promising his fans he would be back soon to work on his third studio album.
He wrote on the photo: “Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I’ve missed.
“To my family and friends, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, the 3rd album is on its way and is the best thing I have made thus far.
“See you all next autumn, and thank you for being amazing. Ed. x (sic)”
The short letter was simply captioned: “Please read x (sic)”

Akon sued over missing royalties

OHMYGOSSIP — Akon has reportedly been sued over missing royalties.
The ‘Smack That’ rapper has been accused of avoiding to pay producer Leland Clopton, who claims he hasn’t been reimbursed for several songs he has written for him over the years since they started working together in 2008.
He also claims Akon has been making bosses at his label Konvict Entertainment – now known as Konvict Kartel – hide his accounts so he could not track payments.
According to TMZ, Clopton states Akon has been keeping the money for himself and he has accused the 43-year-old musician of a “pattern of racketeering activity”.
The lawsuit obtained by the gossip website, states he is asking for a $1 million payout from the ‘Lonely’ hitmaker and he is also demanding Akon – whose real name is Aliaune Damala Badara Thiam – terminates his contract.
Meanwhile, Akon previously said he had “no regrets” about not choosing to sign Drake to his label.
The ‘Locked Up’ star – who is responsible for kick-starting the career of global superstar Lady Gaga, who he helped sign a joint deal with Interscope Records and his own KonLive Distribution – turned down taking on the ‘Hotline Bling’ rapper because at the time he felt the star wasn’t “as developed” as he his now.
Asked if he regretted not signing him, Akon shared: “No I never regret things like that, there are going to be some things that pass you by that you miss.
“Unfortunately at the time when I had the opportunity to sign Drake he wasn’t as developed as he is today. At the time when I spoke to him, he was at the developmental stages and also I had never met him in person.
“His demo was brought to me by Kardinal Offishall, who I was signed to my label at the time, who I had the number one record ‘Dangerous’ with.
“It was all done in an area of the timing just wasn’t there.”

Kirk Hammett 'excited' about tour

OHMYGOSSIP — Kirk Hammett is “very excited” about Metallica’s full North America tour.
The 54-year-old guitarist is due to head off on an extensive run of dates with his bandmates – James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, and Robert Trujillo – next year in support of their album ‘Hardwired… To Self Destruct’, and has admitted he is itching to get back on the road since the rockers haven’t been out on a full US trek since 2009.
Speaking to Billboard magazine, the ‘Master of Puppets’ hitmaker said: “It’s been a long time since we’ve done a proper American tour.
“We’ve done European tours, Asian tours, South American tours – relatively recently – but we have not done a proper American tour as of late, so we’re very, very excited about it, and we’re very excited to be able to do it playing new songs.
“So, yeah, America is definitely slated in there as well as all the usual places, too.
“It’s gonna be really cool, really fun and very Metallica.”
The ‘Enter Sandman’ musicians will start touring from as early as January, but will be in between tour legs when the Grammy awards roll around, where ‘Hardwired’ received a nomination for best rock song.
Speaking about the nod, Kirk said: “You know, we’ve had such a crazy relationship with the Grammys, so when the Grammys do something like this we kind of like throw our arms in the air – ‘Whatever. Whatever!’
“But it’s still an honour. It’s still great to be recognised by the academy, and it’s still fun to play the Grammys when we’re asked. I think it’s cool. I think it’s funny we’re in a different category, but we take it all in stride.”

Professor Green wants to end feud with James Arthur

OHMYGOSSIP — Professor Green wants to end his war of words with James Arthur.
The 33-year-old rapper has endured a rocky relationship with the former ‘X Factor’ star, having previously blasted fans who compared him to the ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ hitmaker.
He previously said: “You can all f**k off and die slowly – he does not look like me.”
At the time, James did not appear to be perturbed by Pro’s remarks, and he quickly agreed to collaborate with the rap star on a track called ‘Little Secrets’.
Although the record was subsequently ditched, James claimed that his writing was still used further down the line, without him being given the credit.
Now, Pro – whose real name is Stephen Manderson – has insisted the situation wasn’t of his making and has revealed he would like to end their feud.
The rapper told the Daily Star newspaper: “It was just around the time James was going through all his troubles and the label just didn’t want him on it.
“No matter how hard I fought for it, they were never going to say yes and have him on the record. For me, if someone has the talent like he does, then why not?”
Pro suggested he would be open to working with James again and said he is keen to speak with him.
He said: “Why wouldn’t I want to work with them? I think me and him need to bump into each other and have a little chat. Not in a bad way – we just need to talk, as everything was made into this huge thing.
“But I don’t think much of it came from either of us. The best thing would be just to bump into each other.”

Noah Cyrus and Labrinth's accidental duet

OHMYGOSSIP — Noah Cyrus and Labrinth’s duet came about as a “mistake”.
The 16-year-old singer – who is the younger sister of Miley Cyrus – was originally meant to record ‘Make Me (Cry)’ alone, but she fell in love with the idea of having the British star appear on the track, which he wrote, after his vocals accidentally came in during recording.
She recalled: “Originally it was just me on the song, and then just by mistake his vocal came in and I was like, ‘Oh, my God, you have to stay on it.
“I think that was a really special moment for us because we were so excited, jumping around the studio like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this song is so sick!'”
The ‘Doc’ actress has spent two years working on her album, but was initially hesitant because of the success of her father, country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley, and their rocker brother Trace.
She told Rolling Stone magazine: “It’s so exciting because I feel like I can finally talk about it now.
“In 2014, when the ‘I Forget When We Were’ album came out by Ben Howard, that was really inspiring to me.
“I just started getting this drive to want to write and sing and start my own album.”
Though country music has been a big influence on Noah because of her father, she insists her own record has a very different sound.
She said: “In my family, I grew up listening to my dad sing country music, but [the album] is definitely different from what I was raised listening to.”
And the teenage star is thankful to have a lot of support from her famous family, with Miley telling her she needs a “thick skin” in the public eye.
She added: “Miley always says, ‘Don’t ever look yourself up or read your comments, ’cause you’re gonna see stuff that you don’t want to see.
“That’s the best advice ever. If it’s making me happy, then it’s working.
“My dad has learned all of the songs that I’ve sent him. He put it on his computer, on his jukebox, on his phone. He still has a Blackberry, by the way. But everybody’s been so supportive.”

Ed Sheeran hints at new album with cryptic social media post

OHMYGOSSIP — Ed Sheeran has teased that he is to release new music with his return to social media.
The ‘Thinking Out Loud’ hitmaker changed his profile pictures to a shade of blue on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook on Tuesday (13.12.16), exactly a year after he went on hiatus, with fans guessing he is about to announce a new album.
It comes hours after Amy Wadge – who has worked with the flame-haired hunk on numerous occasions – teased that the 25-year-old singer’s third LP will drop “really soon” and will certainly hit the headlines.
Speaking to ‘Newsbeat’, the 40-year-old songwriter said: “The third album is on its way and is the best thing I’ve made. His album is done. All of this year he’s been preparing for his next album.”
Ed hasn’t been seen on the music scene for 12 months after he announced he was taking a year-long break to focus on his family and catch up on things that have passed him by since he was catapulted into the limelight in 2012.
He said at the time: “Hello all. I’m taking a break from my phone, emails and all social media for a while, I’ve had such an amazing ride over the last 5 years but I find myself seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes so I’m taking this opportunity of me not having to be anywhere or do anything to travel the world and see everything I missed. To my friends and family, if you love me you will understand me buggering off for a bit, to my fans, my 3rd album is on the way and is the best thing I’ve made thus far. See you all next album and thank you for being amazing. (sic)”
Although his album hasn’t dropped yet, Ed stuck to his word as he came out of his hiatus last month to perform at a fundraising event for a children’s hospice.
He also hit the headlines over the weekend when it was revealed he’d penned the winning ‘X Factor’ song ‘When Christmas Comes Around’ for Matt Terry.
