He told the audience at the Harmony Gold theatre: “Kate, my dear friend, your work in this film has been nothing short of transformative.
“I continue to be awestruck. I continue to admire your strength, your integrity, your talent, and your passion to every single project that you create.
“So, without further ado, one of the great talents of my generation. The one-and-only Kate Winslet.”
The 49-year-old star – who portrays the late World War II photographer Lee Miller, who went from being a fashion model to a correspondent for Vogue magazine – gave him a kiss before they shared a sweet embrace.
An emotional Kate went on to say: “I can’t even look at Leo now because I’ll cry.”
Kate previously told how she and Leonardo, now 50, “clicked immediately” on the set of ‘Titanic’.
She told Entertainment Tonight in 2023: “Once I started working with Leo, we were able to kind of find our own rhythm.
“And it’s amazing to kind of look back and think about it all over again. We clicked immediately, right away.
“He was this kind of mess of long, skinny, uncoordinated limbs. And he was just very free with himself, and he had this effervescent energy that was really magnetic.
“And I remember thinking, ‘Oh, this is gonna be fun. We’re definitely gonna get along.’ And we just really did. We just really did.”
The ‘Mare of Easttown’ actress went on to recall that her pal “very smart” even in his early 20s and she could tell how much he “cared” about his work.
She said: “He was then very, very smart, very, very curious. So he was really fascinated with the period, the details to do with the boat, the lower classes, where those people had come from, how those people had paid for their tickets.
“You know, if you think about it, in the world that we live in now, to have friendships that bind you, and that shared history, it’s really something.
“We connected on so many levels. That sense of focus on the craft and still really caring deeply about that to this day.”

Jaime King custody battle involves Department of Children and Family Services

OHMYGOSSIP — Jaime King’s custody case now involves the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
The 45-year-old actress split from Kyle Newman in 2020 after 13 years of marriage and he is now seeking a restraining order and sole custody of their two sons, James, 10, and Leo, nine, after alleging the boys were being neglected in her care but he now won’t receive a verdict until 13 January, 2025, after the judge noted the government agency are investigating.
A minute order from the hearing obtained by In Touch magazine stated: “The court learns that Department of Children and Family Services are involved with the case.”
The order also noted there are no temporary orders in effect.
Neither Jaime nor the 48-year-old director were present for the hearing, but Kyle – who also wants the ‘Black Summer’ actress to submit to drug an alcohol testing – previously detailed how he felt the children were “in danger” with their mother after alleging she had suffered a “major relapse” in her battle against addiction.
He said in his petition to the court: “The children are currently in danger when in their mother’s care. Jaime King is suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and is emotionally abusing and neglecting our children; placing them in danger and exposing them to many disturbing people and situations, including sexual content.
“The children are begging me to help rescue them from the chaos in their mother’s home.”
The ‘Barely Lethal’ filmmaker told the court Jaime has a history of “severe drug and alcohol abuse and has had a major relapse endangering the safety and wellbeing of our children in her custodial care”, and told how the boys had called him on 17 October begging to be picked up from their mother’s house.
He said in a declaration: “I arrived [at] Jaime’s house around 7:45 a.m. I knocked on the door and was greeted by the boys. I went inside and I saw Jaime sitting on her knees on the floor, wearing a navy blue and white varsity, her hair was in pigtails and she appeared to not be wearing any pants (or maybe had short shorts on). There were two men there.
“Jaime looked distressed, strung out and was acting drunk. She gestured for me to come over to her because she tried to get up but could not stand. Jaime was slurring her words and said, ‘Those are bad boys. We have to do something about our boys. Their behaviour is not right.’ ”
He also claimed his sons told him: “Jaime and her friends frequently smoke inside the house with the doors and windows closed.”
He continued: “The children repeatedly ask her not to and mention the dangers they read about smoking on the American Cancer Society site. One night in June, they opened the door for fresh air. She blew the smoke in both their faces and said, ‘That website is propaganda,’ and laughed and continued to smoke inside the house near them and closed the door.
“Jaime loves our children and we want her to get help — I am, however, unable to force her to get help and cannot allow our children to be in a constant state of danger and abuse as a result of Jaime’s addiction issues.”
The actress’ lawyer, Diana D. Hagopian, denied the allegations.
She said: “The allegations against Jaime are entirely false and intended to cause her harm and garner damaging media attention.
“It is unfortunate that Mr. Newman continues to utilize the court in attempt to continue … the filing of unfounded malicious claims and to use the children as weapons and pawns without regard to their privacy.
“Jaime is intent and solely focused on a peaceful and harmonious coparenting process and her utmost priority is the happiness, health, and well-being of their children.”

The property includes a recording studio, a screening room, a swimming pool with a waterfall and an indoor-outdoor living area as well as multiple dining areas and a state-of-the-art kitchen with an island and bar.
In January 2023, Jeremy spent two weeks in hospital after being involved in a near-fatal snowplough accident near his Nevada home that left him with critical injuries, breaking more than 30 bones, a punctured liver, and one of his eyes popping out of its socket.
Previously, the ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ actor admitted to not initially having plans to sell the home after investing a lot of money towards renovations to make it a “forever home” but has decided to downsize after his accident.
He told WSJ. Magazine: “I did all that stuff because I was going to stay there. It was kind of a forever home.”
Jeremy took to Instagram last month to share a baby picture of his daughter Ava – who is now 11 – as a goodbye message to the house.
He said on Instagram: “When dad sells your childhood home… paving new paths and making new memories together is always scary, but when the deeply profound love we share is our foundation, we can forge through any place with grace. My blessing and gratitude to share our home together with family and friends.”

Vanderpump Rules’ Lala Kent ‘burnt a lot of bridges’ with her co-stars

OHMYGOSSIP — Lala Kent has “burnt a lot of bridges” with her ‘Vanderpump Rules’ co-stars.
The 34-year-old beauty has starred on the Bravo reality series since 2015, but she admitted she is no longer in touch with many of her former castmates but that doesn’t mean she bares any ill will towards them.
After Andy Cohen, 56, reeled off names from the show on ‘Watch What Happens Live’ to see if Lala is in touch with them, she said: “I burnt a lot of bridges.”
Lala praised Ariana Madix for the work she has done outside of the show.
She said of the ‘Love Island USA’ host: “We don’t speak, she’s killing it, and I’m thrilled about it – and I mean it.”
Lala hasn’t spoken to Ariana or Katie Maloney, 37, since the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ season 11 reunion, which aired in May, as the 12th season hasn’t yet started filming.
And she hasn’t visited the pair’s new sandwich shop, Something About Her.
But she said: “They worked very hard on it. Even if we don’t talk, of course, I want to see them succeed. I love a good sandwich!”
However, Ariana’s ex-partner Tom Sandoval, 42, “will reach out every so often” but due to her being the “worst texter in the world”, Lala will “rarely respond”.
She added: “We weren’t friends before, and [it is] too little too late, buddy.”
And Lala – who has Ocean, three, with ex-fiance Randall Emmett, and two-month-old Sosa – may have “blocked” Jax Taylor, but she has no choice but to speak to him as his and ex-wife Brittany Cartwright’s three-year-old son Cruz attends the same school as her eldest daughter.
She said: “I had to block him, but I see him at school because our kids go to school together, so I’m like: ‘What’s up, dude.'”
However, Lala does adore Brittany, 35, confessing: “I love Brittany. We’re thick.”
She also confirmed she “loves” Lisa Vanderpump.

Elle Macpherson secretly battled alcoholism

OHMYGOSSIP — Elle Macpherson secretly battled alcoholism after becoming a mother as she struggled to maintain her “perfect” life.
The 60-year-old supermodel has opened up about her tough times in her new book ‘Elle: Life, Lessons, and Learning to Trust Yourself’ revealing she found herself in a “horrible downward spiral” after welcoming sons Flynn and Cy with her ex-partner Arpad Busson – confessing she would suffer from blackouts but was determined to keep up appearances.
In her book, Elle explained her drinking started when Flynn was a baby as he was often ill. She wrote: “In the evenings, after I put him to bed, I’d find myself relaxing with a vodka.”
The catwalk star revealed her battle with booze caused her to miss her cue during her appearance in her closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games because she became disorientated after downing champagne and vodka to calm her nerves – and her husband considered sending her to rehab but he was worried about her being away from him.
Elle went on to reveal things got worse after the couple welcomed their second son Cy. She wrote: “I loved spending time with Arki [Arpad] and … I wanted to prove to him I would be his partner in fun and business while being the mother of his sons. I would go out and drink, party and become sick again. It became a constant repeat: I was in a horrible downward spiral …
“I found myself having blackouts … I would be talking to somebody and then I would forget what I was saying. They would look at my quizzically as if waiting for me to continue.”
She went on to reveal she was determined to keep her problems secret because she wanted to project the image of a happy home life.
Elle wrote: “Often I would drink after I put my children to bed. I would sit down by myself and have shots of vodka and then I’d write to-do lists and letters to my family. I would do the housework, listen to music until around 11 p.m., then go to bed and pass out.
“I would get up in the morning, run six miles and have a coffee for breakfast. I would sick my fingers down my throat and make sure I vomited three times before I went to sleep. It was always three times …
“People would tell me I was so organised. I was really proud of that. I guess I had to be organised because I was drinking and I never wanted anyone to know. So I made sure the house was clean and tidy; I made sure I looked great and I made sure the children were perfect.”
Elle eventually went to rehab and was able to break free of her booze addiction, however, her marriage to Arpad didn’t last and they split in 2005.

Amanda Kloots claims Dancing with the Stars’ pro Alan Bersten was ‘very mean’ to her in training

OHMYGOSSIP — Amanda Kloots has claimed her ‘Dancing with the Stars’ dance partner Alan Bersten was “very mean” to her.
The ‘Talk’ host, 42, competed in the 2021 series of the US version of the UK’s Latin and ballroom contest ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with the 30-year-old professional dancer, placing fourth, and she has now claimed Alan “yelled” at her during training and that she kept it “bottled up”.
Amanda – who had suffered the devastating loss of her Broadway actor husband Nick Cordero the year before – suggested Alan’s Russian upbringing and the harsh nature of his job is likely why he was so strict with her.
Appearing on the ‘Boyfriend Material with Harry Jowsey’ podcast, she said: “He was very mean to me.
“Growing up Russian, growing up in that dance atmosphere. And he did see a lot of potential in me, and he saw that we could possibly win this thing.”
Although she could see Alan saw her potential, whenever he “yelled” at her, she would be left “raging”.
She added: “I would just keep it bottled up and we would just be dancing, and I would just be raging inside.”
The television personality believes her time with Alan taught him to be a “nicer” teacher.
She noted: “I think Alan has grown up a lot in the last couple of years.
“I’m saying this, and I know that he’ll agree with me: I helped him become a nicer person in teaching.”
Amanda previously confessed the show was “exhausting both mentally and physically”.
Speaking to Katie Couric at the time, she said: “The hardest part about Dancing with the Stars, I think, for me, was definitely the stress of learning a brand new dance each week and needing it to be show-ready, perfect for performance in six days.
“Every dance is different because the technique is different, the style is different, what makes the dance unique is different.
So, to learn it and then to feel good about it and then feel ready enough to perform it, it was exhausting both mentally and physically.”
Amanda opening up about the way Alan treated her on ‘DWTS’ comes after ‘Strictly’ was hit by a bullying scandal this year.
The show was rocked by alleged misconduct claims, with professional dancer Graziano Di Prima dropped from the show after allegedly being violent towards Zara McDermott, while Amanda Abbington and others complained about axed star Giovanni Pernice’s teaching methods. Broadcast BBC launched an investigation and apologised.

Denzel Washington was ‘bitter’ after losing two Oscars

OHMYGOSSIP — Denzel Washington felt “bitter” after losing out on two Best Actor Oscars and stopped voting for the Academy Awards as he indulged in a “pity party”.
The ‘Training Day’ star won his first Oscar for 1989 drama ‘Glory’ in the Best Supporting Actor category but he went on to miss out on the Best Actor prize for ‘Malcolm X’ when he was pitched against ‘Scent of a Woman’ star Al Pacino in 1993 and he lost again in 2000 when he was nominated for ‘Hurricane’ and the top gong went to Kevin Spacey for ‘American Beauty’ – and Denzel admits it was a tough loss.
He told Esquire magazine: “At the Oscars, they called Kevin Spacey’s name for ‘American Beauty’. I have a memory of turning around and looking at him, and nobody was standing but the people around him.
“And everyone else was looking at me. Not that it was this way. Maybe that’s the way I perceived it. Maybe I felt like everybody was looking at me. Because why would everybody be looking at me? Thinking about it now, I don’t think they were.
“I’m sure I went home and drank that night. I had to. I don’t want to sound like: ‘Oh, he won my Oscar’, or anything like that. It wasn’t like that.”
Denzel began to resent the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and he got his wife to vote for the winners instead.
He added: “I went through a time then when [my wife] Pauletta would watch all the Oscar movies – I told her: ‘I don’t care about that. Hey. They don’t care about me? I don’t care. You vote. You watch them. I ain’t watching that.’
“I gave up. I got bitter. My pity party.”
However, Denzel went on to make a huge comeback just two years later when he won the coveted Best Actor Oscar for his role in ‘Training Day’ and he has since received four more nominations for ‘Flight’, ‘Fences’, ‘Roman J. Israel, Esq.’ and ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’.

Saweetie recalls feeling starstruck around Gabrielle Union

OHMYGOSSIP — Saweetie used to feel starstruck around Gabrielle Union.
The 52-year-old actress is Saweetie’s first cousin, and the rapper has recalled being in awe of Gabrielle during her younger years.
The 31-year-old rap star – whose real name is Diamonte Harper – told Us Weekly: “Honestly, I didn’t really connect with her until I was older.
“But I have to say, when I was a young girl, I would be so shy around her, because she’s always been so beautiful. So bright.”
Saweetie used to admire the Hollywood star “from a distance” during her childhood.
The rapper said: “She’s always just had this really bright light about herself, so I’m happy to call her my cousin.”
Saweetie previously claimed that she’s “always been underestimated”.
The ‘Best Friend’ hitmaker feels she’s been underestimated throughout her life – but Saweetie hasn’t allowed her doubters to stop her from realising her ambitions.
Speaking to Allure magazine, she shared: “I’ve always been underestimated – it’s like a recurring theme in my life.
“That’s why the internet don’t really bother me. There’d be moments in classes when the white teachers would be like, ‘Does your mom do your homework for you? Because we know that you’re not this smart.’ Or when I would try out for sports, they’d be, ‘Oh, she’s a pretty girl, she probably sucks.’ It was just constant doubt, all the time.
“But that created the confidence, created me depending on myself, and me always wanting to break boundaries.”
Saweetie also claimed that she’s been given bad advice by some music executives.
She said: “I was told I should twerk more on my Instagram.
“I was told that my voice was very boring. I was told that I rapped too monotone and needed more energy. I was told that I needed to share more of my life on the internet.
“I’m going to twerk when I want to. That’s not going to be my marketing. And if that’s what you truly love to do, then empower yourself through that. But that’s not innate to me.”

Cher had ‘revenge sex’ when she lost her virginity at 14

OHMYGOSSIP — Cher lost her virginity at 14 when she had “revenge sex” with a neighbour’s son.
The 78-year-old pop superstar has opened up about her early years growing up in California in her new book ‘Cher: The Memoir, Part One’ and she’s revealed she decided to “loan out” her virginity to the boy after he treated her “like an embarrassing kid” in front of his friends.
The singer wrote: “An Italian family on our street had a cute son who was a senior in high school. He spent his weekends working on his hot rod as I handed him tools. Then he’d come to my room, we’d kiss, he’d want me to hold his other tool, and I’d say no. I liked his black roadster better than him.
“Not that sex was far from my mind then, as the main conversations among girls at school were about how they spent their weekends fooling around with boys but never went to ‘fourth base’ … ”
She went to reveal she had sex with “the neighbour” as an act of “revenge” after he ditched her on an outing with his pals.
Cher explained: “The neighbour was sweet enough when we were alone, but as soon as his friends came around, he’d treat me like an embarrassing kid.
“One day, when his buddies suggested a trip to Bob’s Big Boy, he said: ‘Okay, let me get Cher’. They laughed and said: ‘You’re gonna take that kid?’ and he ditched me. I was so hurt when he did that, I had revenge sex with him.
“I had never wanted to, otherwise I would have done it one of the five hundred other times he asked. But I was so angry at being dismissed, I decided to, if not lose, loan out my virginity to him.”
She went on to admit the big moment was a “massively overrated experience”, adding: “I asked him, ‘Is that it? Are we finished?’ Then I told him to go home and never come back. I wanted him to feel just as dismissed as he’d made me feel. Even though he kept trying to make it up to me, I never spoke to him again.
“Back in school, I reported to my friends that the ‘thing’ they were constantly talking about was no big deal and that they should carry on kissing.”

He told Variety: “I found it hard to hear exactly what he was saying because your head is in such a kind of frenzy, so you’re just kind of nodding along and just smiling.”
Paul also admitted he didn’t think he would ever be rubbing shoulders with royalty, adding: “It’s definitely not something that I thought was in the bingo cards. I’m Irish, so it’s not on the list of priorities.”
However, the actor was pleased the film’s director Sir Ridley Scott was able to have the King attend the screening. He said: “It’s an amazing thing for Ridley because I know how important that is for him. So to see his film celebrated in that context was pretty special.”
Denzel Washington was also among the stars who met King Charles at the London screening and he previously admitted he was left baffled by royal protocol because he wasn’t sure if he was supposed to shake his hand or not.
In video footage published after the event, Denzel was seen meeting the King and saying: “I didn’t know if I was supposed to grab you or not, but it’s my pleasure.”
He went on to talk to the head of the royal family about his character in the movie, saying: “I’m … just awful … I’m a lovely man you’ll see. I’m a lovely chap and doing my best.”
Charles then told him: “You’ve been in so many films, it’s fantastic.”
The King also met Pedro Pascal and director Sir Ridley Scott at the premiere, which was held in London’s Leicester Square. He arrived at the event in his state Bentley limousine, and posed for photographers on the red carpet, while wearing a black tuxedo with a bowtie.
Queen Camilla missed the screening after she was diagnosed with a “seasonal chest infection”.
