Lost Voice Guy to splash out BGT winnings on Geordie accent

OHMYGOSSIP — Lost Voice Guy is to spend some of his £250,000 ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ prize money on a Geordie accent for his iPad.
The ‘BGT’ winner – who has cerebral palsy and cannot speak – won the huge sum when he triumphed in Sunday night’s (03.06.18) finale, and he is planning to splash out on a new voice for his tablet because he is tired of “sounding like a posh Robocop”.
He said: “I’m definitely going to get a Geordie accent for my iPad because I’m sick of sounding like a posh version of Robocop.”
The 37-year-old comedian – whose real name is Lee Ridley – is hopeful his ‘BGT’ triumph will help to remove some of the stigma attached to disability, and admitted he is “really grateful” for all the support he has received throughout his time on the show.
Speaking on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’, he added: “I’d like to think I’ve opened people’s eyes a bit and made them realise that being disabled isn’t all bad. I hope that by seeing disabled people like myself on national television some of the stigma will be taken away from disability.
“I’ve been overwhelmed by the support I’ve received, in fact I think that’s the best part of this whole experience. Everyone has shown so much love ever since my audition and I’m really very grateful for it.
“To be honest, it’s all still a bit surreal. The whole night was incredible and it was an amazing feeling when I won.
“I was up against some great acts in the final so it was an honour that the public voted for me.”
Lee’s gran Ethel Foster, 91, didn’t think “for a second” that he would win ‘BGT’, but his success has brought their family “such happiness”.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: “When he decided to enter ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, we were all so proud of him just for doing it.
“But not for a second did any of us think we would be watching him win it. I can’t say how proud I am, it has brought us such happiness.”
