OHMYGOSSIP — Sonia wants a role in ‘Coronation Street’.
The ‘You’ll Never Stop Me From Loving You’ singer recently filmed four special episodes of ‘Hollyoaks’ to celebrate Eurovision coming to Liverpool and previously appeared in now-defunct Scouse soap ‘Brookside’, but her biggest dream is to walk on the famous cobbles
She told HELLO! magazine: “I would love to have a massive part in ‘Coronation Street’. Fingers crossed!”
The 52-year-old star represented the UK at Eurovision 30 years ago, coming in second place with ‘Better The Devil You Know’, so she’s thrilled her home city has been chosen to host this year’s competition because winners Ukraine were unable to stage the competition due to the war with Russia.
She said: “I am super excited. When I competed in 1993 I always said to everyone that if I won, we had to bring it back to Liverpool.
“Now it’s 30 years later and my dream has come true.
“It’s amazing for the city and it’s only right that it was chosen because Liverpool’s musical heritage alone is just unbelievable.
“The whole place is buzzing now, everyone is so excited. It’s going to be unreal.”
Sonia will be on stage at Eurovision as she will be part of The Liverpool Songbook, a performance during the interval.
She added: “It’s been the most unbelievable experience – all my costumes have been made by the people from ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ – and I can’t wait to meet everyone and just enjoy it all.
“Last time I was in competition with 25 people but this time it’s just going to be complete enjoyment.”
