OHMYGOSSIP — Matt Goss is the latest celebrity to join ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’
The 53-year-old pop star – who achieved a string of hits such as ‘When Will I Be Famous? alongside his twin brother Luke as part of pop group Bros back in the 1980s – is set to take part in the BBC ballroom competition when it returns to screens later this year and joked that although he is “nervous”, he is “optimistic” because he is “very supple”.
He said: “I’m extremely nervous and excited, but I’m optimistic because I’m very supple from the knees down.”
The announcement comes just hours after it was revealed that Kiss FM DJ Tyler West, 26, will also be putting on his dancing shoes in a bid to win the Glitterball Trophy.
He said: “I am SO gassed to be joining the Strictly family! As I started writing this I already got cramp. It’s going to be one crazy incredible journey which will no doubt be SO far outside my comfort zone. It’s a show that means so much to me and my family and I can’t wait to seriously shake a leg on that shiny dance floor… with a side of sequins.”
So far, ‘Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisp’ star Will Mellor and ex-‘Corrie’ actress Kym Marsh as well as journalist Kaye Adams, DJ Richie Anderson and comic Jayde Adams have signed up for the next series of the show, while former England footballer Tony Adams is also rumoured to be taking part.
‘Loose Women’ star Kaye, 59, admitted that she was “terrified” to have signed up for the series but decided to take part after “embracing” her age before she hits the milestone birthday.
She said: “It’s me! I’m absolutely terrified because I can’t dance. I could think of a million reasons not to do this. But I thought I might be sitting in September thinking I’m 59 – I’ve always lied about my age but I’ve decided to embrace it and so I’m 60 at the end of this year and I thought ‘Why not?’ I can’t make much of a fool of myself!”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is set to return to BBC One on September 10.
