OHMYGOSSIP — Kate Garraway has thanked fans for their help after she was reunited with her husband’s medication which had been left in a taxi.
The ‘Good Morning Britain’ star made an urgent appeal after she accidentally left medicine for her sick husband Derek Draper in a cab – and one follower managed to pass on the message to the driver who was able to get the supplies back to her.
Kate initially tweeted a post to Black Cab Lost Property, writing: ” @BC_Lostproperty help!! Have just brought Derek home in a mobility black cab from hospital for a weekend visit have left a case with all his meds and kit in the front!”
She then added: “The driver recognised me but may not know it’s there – please look get in touch – need urgently!!”
Kate was flooded with offers to help, including from one follower who said they knew the driver. They wrote in a message to Kate: “I know the driver Kate as he mentioned he’d taken you and your husband to me this evening. I’m trying to get in touch right now.”
The next day, the TV star returned to the social media site to confirm the lost medication had been found and returned to her.
She wrote: “It’s been returned! Thanks to all who reached out – the message got to driver lovely Robert who has returned it – phew and thanks to all. #happysundayeveryone.”
Kate’s husband Derek was struck down with COVID-19 in early 2020 and the deadly bug left him in a coma. He survived, but suffered lasting damage and now needs full-time care.
