OHMYGOSSIP — Mo Gilligan is reportedly lined up for a BBC spin-off of ‘That’s My Jam’.
The 33-year-old comedian is set to host a UK version of the hit US game show – which is an adaptation of a segment on ‘The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon – and it will see teams of celebrities competing in musical challenges.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “Mo’s star is rapidly rising. He’s the man every channel wants right now. This show has all the ingredients to be a major hit.
“He has already filmed a pilot episode but the Beeb would be fools not to give a full series the go-ahead as soon as they can.”
The BAFTA winner – who is one of the UK’s biggest comedy stars – worked in a retail clothing store before he made his big break.
His comedy skits on Instagram attracted a large following, and Canadian rapper Drake helped his star rise in 2017 after spotting his material online.
Although Mo is yet to work for the BBC, he has already become a big name on TV as he is currently on the panel of ITVs ‘The Masked Singer’ and it’s spin-off ‘The Masked Dancer’, while he also hosts his own Channel 4 series ‘The Lateish show with Mo Gilligan’.
His previous projects have included co-hosting ‘The Big Narstie Show’ alongside rapper Big Narstie on C4, as well as the release of his first comedy special on Netflix, ‘Mo Gilligan: Momentum’.
Mo will be back on ‘The Masked Dancer’ for the show’s second season, which will see his fellow panellists Oti Mabuse, Jonathan Ross and Davina McCall also making a return alongside host Joel Dommett.
Before the first series aired, Mo felt he had an advantage over his co-stars and explained: “I studied performing arts and I had to do dance as part of the course.
“I can do a bit of ballet, contemporary dance and stuff – I would have been in the Royal Ballet but I did my knee in.”
