OHMYGOSSIP — Denise Van Outen has promised viewers her ‘Dancing On Ice’ replacement will “blow you all away”.
The 46-year-old star has had to drop out of the ITV figure skating competition due to injury, and she will be replaced by Olympic gymnast Amy Tinkler and her pro partner Joe Johnson.
On her Instagram Story, Denise teased: “Introducing to the ice the amazing @amytinkler & @joejohnsonice
“They are a brilliant pairing and will blow you all away”.
Amy revealed on social media she and Joe have been “working super hard” in the background in case they needed to be drafted in.
She wrote: “For the past 3 months Joe and I have been working super hard as the reserve team for @dancingonice and we’re super excited to say we will be in the show on Sunday!
“We want to wish @vanouten_denise a very speedy recovery, you have been so kind to us and we wish you all the best. I can’t wait to show you all what we can do!”
‘Dancing On Ice’ confirmed the news too, and offered a message of support to the incoming contestant.
The team commented: “We can’t wait to see you on the ice.”
Denise took a tumble on the ice while rehearsing at the ITV show’s rink at Bovingdon Airfield, Hertfordshire, earlier this month resulting in her badly injuring her left shoulder.
Although she was able to take to the ice with her professional partner Matt Evers for her first skating routine, an MRI scan has shown that she has three bone fractures as well as a partial dislocation in her shoulder which means she has to hang up her skates for the sake of her health.
In a lengthy Instagram post, she said: “I’ve tried as hard as I can to carry on because I love the show and the amazing team in front and behind the cameras.
“Initially we thought with rest I could make a return to the ice, but a recent MRI scan has shown that I have 3 bone fractures as well as a partial dislocation. OUCH! No wonder I’ve been in agony.”
