OHMYGOSSIP — Kym Marsh is set to miss the first week of Morning Live’s second series to undergo an operation.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actress co-hosts the BBC Daytime show with Gethin Jones, but a stand-in is expected to take her place when the second season begins on Monday (25.01.21).
A source said: “Kym has been trying to have the operation for a while now as the problem she has is causing her quite a lot of discomfort.
“She finally got a slot and then the dates for ‘Morning Live’ moved slightly meaning they clashed.”
Kym is said to be “gutted” about missing out on the first week back, after the BBC recommissioned a second series in December.
The source added to The Sun newspaper: “She’s gutted to be missing the first week of the second series alongside Gethin but she really needs this sorting.
“She will be back fighting fit as soon as she can be.”
In May 2019, Kym revealed she was on medication for a hiatus hernia after the condition was giving her heartburn.
She said: “I’m on medication for hiatus hernia, which means part of my stomach is protruding into my oesophagus, which gives me heartburn, so I take medication called lansoprazole.
“The doctor told me that if you’ve been taking it for a while, it affects your body’s ability to absorb vitamin B12, which is important for the immune system.
“Having the drip gave me a much-needed energy boost.”
