OHMYGOSSIP — Charlie Lawson is taking a break from Twitter.
The former ‘Coronation Street’ actor has made his first big decision of 2021 – to have a rest from his social media account “for a bit”.
He tweeted: “Well, finally a New Years decision made, I’m off here for a bit. Cheerio. See how we do. (sic)”
It comes just days after Charlie – who played Jim McDonald on ‘Corrie’ on and off from 1989 to 2018 – used the platform to hit out at a thief who keeps stealing his milk in his village of Prestbury, Cheshire, north west England.
He issued a warning to the culprit to stop, and vowed to rip their “arms off” if he catches up with them.
Channelling his ‘Corrie’ character, he tweeted: “To the little s*** in our village @PrestburyParish who keeps nicking our milk, missed you by a whisker this morning! Be real careful, if I catch you I’ll rip yer friggin arms off!!!! (sic)”
The 61-year-old actor admitted if someone is that desperate for a cup of tea, he would make them one himself if they just knocked on his door.
He tweeted: “Makes me angry. As someone said, knock on me door and if you’re that desperate, I’ll do you a cup of tea meself!! (sic)”
In 2018, Charlie suffered a transient ischemic attack – which is known as a mini-stroke – on the opening night of his portrayal of the titular inspector in play ‘Rebus’.
The star later admitted the incident had changed his outlook on life.
Speaking in June 2019, he said: “I’m fine, I was one of the lucky ones. But when you have a TIA it changes your outlook on life.
“You look at mortality in the face and you embrace it. But I’m fine.
“I did need to just switch off. It affected me emotionally for a couple of months and you do need to sit back and you learn to appreciate more the people you treasure.”
