OHMYGOSSIP — Tom Fletcher says his wife’s involvement in ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’ marks the longest time they’ve been apart since they were teenagers.
The 35-year-old musician loves watching Giovanna Fletcher on the ITV show, but he also concedes that it’s “bizarre” to be separated from his wife for so long.
Tom – who met Giovanna, 35, at the Sylvia Young Theatre School – said: “It’s so strange, it’s the longest we’ve been apart since we were 13, because we met at school.
“It’s bizarre not being able to speak to her but it’s amazing watching her, sitting down on my own with my dinner in front of the TV watching her.”
Tom has sons Buzz, six, Buddy, four, and Max, two, with Giovanna, and they’re all loving the experience of watching her on the show.
He told ITV’s ‘Lorraine’: “It’s incredible, it’s so much fun and the kids absolutely love watching her before they go to school every morning, it’s brilliant. I love watching the kids watch their mum, it’s the most enjoyable thing.”
The current series has also reminded Tom of watching his bandmate Dougie Poynter on the series back in 2011.
Tom – who married Giovanna in 2012 – said: “I went through this with Dougie when he went on the show in 2011, I think – it’s an amazing thing to see someone you love on the show. People get to see what an amazing person they are.
“It’s amazing for people to see what I see in her, an amazing, kind, loving woman.”
