OHMYGOSSIP — Kerry Katona has urged “fellow bipolar sufferer” Beverley Callard to take her time to find her feet on ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’.
The 40-year-old singer has implored the soap star to create a routine during her time on the ITV show, which has been relocated from the Australian jungle to a castle in Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Kerry – who won the third series of the show in 2004 – said: “I would be gutted if I signed up this year and they told me it was in the UK in winter – it’s just not exotic, unlike the Australian summer. I also really struggle with long, dark nights because of my bipolar, and the celebs will find that their days seem a lot longer.
“Beverley Callard is in it and she is a fellow bipolar sufferer. All I did the first week was cry and say, ‘I just want to go home.’ So my advice to her would be to give it time, find your feet, and get a routine.”
Kerry explained that during her own stint on the programme, she never feared elimination because she wanted to party with the show’s hosts Ant and Dec in Australia.
The former Atomic Kitten star was also determined to make the most of the programme’s perks, which included a first-class flight Down Under.
She told Closer magazine: “I do feel sorry for them all though, because they have lost the only perks the show offered. One of the best things as a contestant is getting on that 24-hour flight all the way to Australia, first bloody class!
“That’s what I looked forward to more than anything. And I just thought, ‘If I get kicked out, I’ll just go out on the p*** with Ant and Dec in Australia.'”
