OHMYGOSSIP — ‘This Morning’ viewers have been left fuming after the show was cancelled for coverage of the Rugby World Cup.
Fans of ITV’s popular daytime magazine show were disappointed to learn the programme was replaced on Monday (23.09.19), with the channel instead broadcasting Wales’ opening match against Georgia in Toyota City, Japan.
Confirming the news on Twitter, the official ‘This Morning’ account wrote: “Your regular edition of ‘This Morning’ has been replaced by the rugby today, but we’ve got a very special version planned for you online!
“We’ve assembled a team of experts to answer your questions on the Thomas Cook emergency, so if you’ve been affected, get in touch. (sic)”
Despite the online attempt to cover the news that travel giant Thomas Cook has ceased trading with immediate effect, viewers were still disappointed.
One viewer wrote: “Why does sport always take priority over everything on ITV?! (sic)”
Another user tweeted hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, saying: “@Schofe, @hollywills can you tell the directors without this morning live life sucks, how am i going to do my ironing without you guys.I miss you guys P*** O** Rugby. (sic)”
And a different fan posted two crying emojis, adding: “Absolutely disgusting and disappointing why would you cancel to put rugby on I am sure this morning has more followers than rugby (sic)”
While many were unimpressed, some viewers heaped praise on the team for still doing what they can to help those who need the support.
A follower tweeted: “I’m sure there will be loads of people needing your help today. Good work
@thismorning.”
