The Daytime Emmy Awards are awards presented by the New York-based National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Los Angeles-based Academy of Television Arts & Sciences in recognition of excellence in American daytime television programming. Ceremonies generally are held in May or June.
Emmys are considered the television equivalent to the Academy Awards (for film), Grammy Awards (for music) and Tony Awards (for stage).
The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be held on June 19, 2011, and be broadcast on the CBS network live from Las Vegas.
Here is the schedule for this year’s Daytime Emmys. Nominations will be announced in May.
Feb. 1, 2011: Deadline to complete online entry data (“paperwork” portion only) and apply to judge.
Feb. 18, 2011: General deadline for delivery of DVD submissions to All Mobile Video in NYC.
Feb. 25, 2011: Drama Series Performer categories pre-nomination results
March 11, 2011: Drama Performer DVD submissions due to All Mobile Video (after pre-nomination process has determined individuals advancing to the screening round). Deadline also for any supporting documentation for Drama categories.
Week of March 31, 2011: Judging DVDs are sent out and judging begins.
April 25, 2011: Judging ballots return deadline
May 11, 2011: Nomination announcements
June 17, 2011: Daytime Creative Arts and Entertainment Emmy ceremony — Westin Bonaventure Hotel, Downtown Los Angeles.
June 19, 2011: Daytime Entertainment Emmy Awards — Hilton Hotel, Las Vegas.
