Happy Valley wins big at 2024 BAFTA TV Awards as The Crown is snubbed – see the full list of winner!

OHMYGOSSIP — ‘Happy Valley’ and ‘Top Boy’ were among the big winners at the BAFTA TV Awards with P+O Cruises on Sunday (12.05.24).
The hit BBC series – which starred Sarah Lancashire as policewoman Catherine Cawood – saw Sarah Lancashire win Best Leading Actress for her starring role, and also won the publicly-voted Memorable Moment for the showdown in the series finale.
Netflix series ‘Top Boy’ won Best Drama Series, whilst actress Jasmine Jobson was given her first BAFTA Award for her portrayal of dealer Jac in the show, and murder drama ‘The Sixth Commandment’ won Best Limited Series and Best Leading Actor for Timothy Spall.
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ won Best Entertainment just ahead of its 20th anniversary, whilst ‘Scam Interceptors’ won Best Daytime Show, beating off competition from the likes of ‘Loose Women’ and ‘Lorraine’.
But esteemed ‘Lorraine’ host Lorraine Kelly did not leave empty-handed, as she was given the BAFTA Special Award following her 40 years in broadcast and used her speech to urge industry bosses to continue giving opportunities to “working-class kids” like herself.
Despite being the most-nominated series of the year, royal drama ‘The Crown’ failed to win any awards, as did fellow Netflix hit ‘Black Mirror’.
The proceedings were overseen by TV duo Romesh Ranganathan and Rob Beckett – who actually won Best Comedy Entertainment after starring in their hit Sky Max series ‘Romesh and Rob VS…’ – and a host of famous faces such as ‘Sort Your Life Out’ host Stacey Solomon, ‘Succession’ star Brian Cox, and ‘EastEnders’ legend Danny Dyer amongst a host of others were on hand to present the awards, whilst pop singer Ella Eyre performed her single ‘Ain’t No Love That’s Blind’.
