Rylan Clark faced pirate kidnap threat

OHMYGOSSIP — Rylan Clark was at risk of being kidnapped by pirates while filming his new TV show.
The 35-year-old presenter spent a month shooting ‘Dating Naked UK’ for Paramount+ in Colombia, but being a “person of note” meant he was at risk of being abducted for a ransom.
He told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: “I was out there for a month, and they are quite liberal, but the one thing I had to worry about was being a person of note from Europe — so a genuine concern was pirates.
“That sounds really crazy, but actual pirates were the biggest concern because we were on an island filming the show.
“Moving around at night when we were filming could have ended up with pirate boats coming to get me.
“Apparently they never hurt you, they just want a bit of dollar.”
But Rylan doesn’t think the pirates would have kept him for long – and he wouldn’t have been too upset if he had been kidnapped.
He said: “They’d get rid of me after 15 minutes.”
He then quipped: “I’d have a lovely life at sea — as long as I got a Jolly Roger at the end of it.”
The 10-episode series sees singletons in their birthday suits looking for love in a tropical paradise, and the former ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’ presenter previously teased it will be must-see TV.
He said: “It is no secret that I love a reality TV show, but this one is going to blow your minds.
“Not only does it feature dating and drama — on top of that everyone will be totally starkers.
“You will not want to miss this — I can’t wait for you all to see.”
