OHMYGOSSIP — Shaun Ryder was left in agony when his replacement hip “popped out” on ‘I’m A Celebrity… South Africa’.
The Happy Mondays singer – who was runner up on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2010 – had only been in the all stars camp for two days when he suffered the medical mishap while sleeping.
But the 60-year-old musician “didn’t want” to see a doctor so just “pushed” the joint back in himself.
Shaun – who had his hip replaced in summer 2019 – said: “I had been in there two nights, and boom, f****** hell, my hip had come out.
“I pushed it back in myself. I didn’t want to see a doctor. Paul Burrell helped me out, he was a professional.”
The ‘Step On’ hitmaker was delighted to be back in the jungle.
He said: “I wouldn’t have swapped it for the world.”
Shaun has admitted he can barely remember anything about his first stint on the show.
He laughed: “I don’t learn anything because I don’t retain anything. That’s my problem!
“All I can remember about the (Bushtucker) Trials is eating a lot of penises, testicles and eyeballs!”
When pressed for his “best memory” of the show, Shaun added: “The camp life. I am not usually a sociable person but I enjoyed chatting to everyone around the campfire.”
The veteran rocker admitted he’d love to come face-to-face with John Lydon – who infamously quit the show in 2004 – on the all-stars programme.
When asked to name his ideal campmate he said: “My life hero, Johnny Lydon.
“He was the reason why I said ‘yes’ originally. I am keeping my fingers crossed he will be in camp.
“Anyone I don’t want to see again? I am not telling you in case you make sure she is there!”
